Eventhough De1 is still promoting our new mini-album, Aurora will be debuting this weekend.

We even practiced together for a special stage performance of LightUp's two idol groups. During the break, we got into a certain talk.

 

Jinho : It's too early in the morning for this!

Sky : She makes a point. Hyung, I've never seen you two even say 'hi' to each other!

Somi : Yes, and it would be great if you two could get along, like you both are with the others.

 

They were talking about me and a member of Aurora, G.A. We don't really know a lot about each other. Also, we had no reason to. She is Aurora's main rapper. I left the mentoring duty to Sky and Joo. It didn't seem like I could help her in any way. She probably got along with Q and Sungho through work. Q helped to produce some of Aurora's music and Sungho with their dances.

 

G.A : Unnie, please come with us!

Somi : No. It's not like we're asking you guys to go on a date. We just don't see the senior-junior relationship anywhere between you two.

Sky : It's been more like a ghost that you two see everyday, but choose to coexist by ignoring each other.

 

That seemed like an exaggeration. In my opinion, I think they're making a big deal about this.

 

Jinho : Then, how about this? You two tag along with us. Afterwards, you can leave us once we're more comfortable with each other.

 

Their idea was for me to bring G.A to a quick breakfast during our break. It would be awkward with just the two of us.

Luckily, they agreed with my idea for compromise.

 

Sky : Okay. Let's go!

 

2 November 2016 (Wednesday), 10.30 a.m.

The four of us went to a nearby gimbap restaurant. I like gimbap so much because it's mostly consisted of rice, my favorite food.

However, it was hard for me to enjoy it today. We would make some small talk with Sky and Somi, but me and G.A are just not clicking with each other.

Suddenly, Sky and Somi stood up from their seats.

 

Sky : Even with me and Somi, you guys aren't talking. Good luck!

Jinho : Are you two leaving already?

Sky : Yes. Maybe that will change the atmosphere here. Hyung, just work your magic! Don't tell me G.A is your 'Kryptonite'?

Jinho : That's not funny.

 

He laughed, but I know he finds this serious too. If he didn't, he wouldn't be here in the first place.

The two of them left, leaving only me and G.A to finish our meal.

 

Jinho : Do you like gimbap?

G.A : Yes, I do.

Jinho : Do you know how to make it?

G.A : No, I don't.

 

Such simple answers. I guess I'll be doing most of the work here.

 

Jinho : If you want, I can teach you when you have free time.

G.A : You can cook?

Jinho : Yes, and gimbap is very easy to make, even you can do it!

G.A : Ah... thank you for your offer, but I think Somi unnie can teach me instead.

 

She shot me down. There were plenty of ways she could have said 'no', but she chose the kind that sank my hopes for a friendship.

 

Jinho : All right! I give up! Your turn to try get along with me, because I don't see it happening.

G.A : Maybe it's because sunbaenim is four years older than me.

 

Will it kill her to call me 'oppa' like the rest?

 

Jinho : Okay! Let's acknowledge the age difference. Is it that big of a deal?

G.A : It's not just that! Maybe we're just too different?

Jinho : Like how?

G.A : Well, you kind of... look like an ahjussi to me.

 

My mind was blown. How did she see that kind of image coming from me?

 

Jinho : Why?

G.A : You just seem to work a lot in the office.

Jinho : I have to, considering I'm the company's translator.

G.A : Also, I heard from Q oppa that you're in a pretty serious relationship with Wendy sunbaenim from Red Velvet.

 

That guy... He's going to get an earful from me when I get back.

 

Jinho : Well, we're not... I think. We're still just friends!
