16 September 2016 (Friday), 2.20 a.m.

I just arrived in Malaysia, but it was still nighttime. The hospital can't possibly be accepting visitors at this hour.

I was told by Manager-nim to rest at the airport in the meantime. but I was really worried about my mum. How did this happen?

About seven hours ago, I had to leave Mina at the ice cream shop and I made my own way to the airport. I have to apologize to her when I get back.

16 September 2016 (Friday), 9 a.m.

It was finally visiting hours. I had waited in the hospital lobby for about an hour. Once I got the information on which ward my mum was staying in, I immediately went there. Once I got there, she was still asleep, but she looked weak.

I took a seat next to her bed and took a look at her chart. I didn't understand what I was reading, but I tried to remember everything.

Once I was done with the chart, I placed it back and went out to look for a nurse.

Jinho : Excuse me, nurse. Do you know what's COPD?

Nurse : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It's a lung disease.

I was surprised to hear that. My mum has a lung disease.

Jinho : And how bad is stage 3?

Nurse : Stage 3? Hmm... the patient will be breathless after short walks, increase in fatigue, and doing regular things will be more difficult.

I was trying to process this information. So she's currently unable to do anything for herself.

I said thank you to the nurse and went back to stay by mum's side. I'll stay here until she wakes up.

16 September 2016 (Friday), 11.15 a.m.

I saw my mum twisting and turning on the bed. Soon enough, she woke up.

Mummy : Jinho?

Jinho : You're not acting like someone who's sick.

I smiled and gave her a big hug.

Jinho : If you really wanted me to see you, just say so next time.

Mummy : Did you check my test result?

Jinho : Yes. Will you be okay?

Mummy : I really don't know.

Jinho : How long have you known you had COPD?

She could see I was really worried for her. She gave me a bigger hug.

Mummy : I'm sorry, Jinho, but I only learned it was COPD recently.

Jinho : It's already at stage 3!

Mummy : I know. I'm sorry...

I cried as she continued to hug me. We consoled each other for the next few minutes.

Jinho : Okay, Mummy! Is there anything you need? I'll go get it!

Mummy : Are you sure you don't need to go back? Don't you have work?

Jinho : I'm technically still on break. Besides, I still have my Malaysian citizenship. I can stay here for as long as you need me.

She smiled.

Mummy : Were you scared when you heard that I was admitted here?

Jinho : I was at first, but I had a friend with me that said everything will be okay.

Mummy : I thought your members are in Japan?

Jinho : It's not one of them, but she's a close friend.

Mummy : She? Is this one of the girls you were talking about?

Jinho : Hehe yes. I guess so.

My mum took her hand out and showed me her gold-half of the keychain.

Mummy : Maybe you should do something like this with her? She'll probably like it.

Jinho : Haha maybe.
