Chapter Twelve

Gut Feeling

At the dining table, Tiffany never felt so uncomfortable in her entire life. She was sitting in between Taeyeon and Chansung, her so called brother.

But that’s not the reason why she really feels uncomfortable. It was because the man named Kim Jaejoong was sitting in front of her.

Whenever Tiffany would raise her head, she couldn’t help but have an eye contact with the guy. And whenever their eyes meet, no matter how brief it was, she couldn’t help but feel so afraid that all the hairs at the back of her nape can’t help but raise up.

“What is exactly your plan with that woman huh, Taeyeon? And why did you never tell me that you will bring her here at the house?”

Tiffany kept her eyes on her plate as she heard Jaejoong angrily asked Taeyeon about her.

“Since when do I need to ask for your permission about who I want to invite to my own house?”

She heard Taeyeon answered the older guy with so much authority.

“You don’t need to—“

“Then I don’t see why we’re talking about it now.”

Tiffany heard Taeyeon voice rang out as she cut off Jaejoong. This was the first time she had heard Taeyeon’s voice laced with so much authority and it somehow scared her more than what Jaejoong made her feel with his presence.

“But how could you treat that woman like she’s a very important guest? And you too, Haneul! What’s wrong with the two of you?!”

Tiffany got startled when she heard a loud thump on the table. This guy really has a loose screw in his head, one moment he acts scared of Taeyeon then fighting back against her the next.

But Taeyeon voice was heard next after that and Tiffany almost wanted to run away from the place, from this country and just go back to Los Angeles, back into her mother’s warm embrace.

Because there’s something on it she can’t quite put a name on. Taeyeon’s voice was laced with it as she spoke the words one by one.

“She is a guest and besides… Didn’t we lose one woman in this house because of the Hwang’s shouldn’t it be just right that we replace it? And wouldn’t it be just right that a Hwang replace it? By Tiffany Hwang herself because after all, she is Hwang Chanhyuk’s daughter.”

Tiffany saw Kim Jaejoong threw her a very malicious smile upon hearing Taeyeon’s plan with her. It finally dawned into her what Taeyeon meant and it terrified her to the core.

“Not bad! Not bad at all! And after you’re done with her, pass her to me.”

Finally she heard a different voice beside the two, Chansung coughs at them while Mrs. Kim Haneul dropped her utensil back at the table with a heavy sound before giving Taeyeon and Jaejoong a piercing glare.

“Taeyeon! Jaejoong! What are two talking about? Taeyeon, why are you being secretive with what you are saying? Are you hiding something from me? And you, Jaejoong! Why are you giving malicious remark with what Taeyeon has just said? Where’s your respect in front of our blessings and to me?”

Kim Jaejoong just shrugs his shoulder at Mrs. Kim, his malicious smile still lingers as he looks at her again.

“Do you want me to remind you of all the things that we had lost because of the father of this woman? No woman can ever replace Yeonhee in this house!”
