Chapter Ten

“Devil… your grandfather often called me that and now you… the beautiful granddaughter… what else can I say?”

Tiffany watched Taeyeon laugh herself off, for whatever reason it is she surely doesn’t want to know.

“Hmmm… I know…” She watched as Taeyeon get up from her seat and hovered over the small desk that separates them to lean closer to her.

“This devil… will be a good lover to you, Tiffany.” Tiffany felt goosebumps all over her body as Taeyeon huskily whispered in front of her those words.

Taeyeon laugh out loud again and this time she has an idea as to why the older is laughing again. For she, herself felt her whole face as hot an iron and probably as red as a pepper too, all because of this devil.

Tiffany just shut because she doesn’t want to give Taeyeon a chance to make fun of her again. And also because, she doesn’t want to humiliate herself in front of her by saying nonsensical that she might truly regret later on.

After a while, Taeyeon finally stopped and get up from her chair to walk to her side then she felt a hand under her left elbow. Tiffany threw the girl a questioning look. She tried to shake it off from her hold but Taeyeon just easily brush off her restraint and gently held her arm again.

“Come on, I’ll take you to your room.” Taeyeon casually told her.

Tiffany just silently followed Taeyeon’s pull of her hand. They were walking towards the reception room again that she failed to see earlier so this time Tiffany let her eyes wander around, and this time she couldn’t help but be awed at interior of the whole house.

If her grandfather’s house screams traditional and antiqueness then Taeyeon’s house is the exact opposite.

She wonders if Taeyeon did it on purpose so that people that saw both places would never find anything in common about their houses since both families has a lot of common friends that come and go to their houses all the time.

Tiffany glanced at the huge floor to ceiling window from where they are standing and saw something similar to what she had before that made her instantly smiled.

‘For two warring families, you both don’t like the idea of fences huh.’

She continues to look outside and let her eyes reach as far as it can, for she can’t help but to be amazed with the beautiful garden like scenery that surrounds Taeyeon’s house.

Tiffany didn’t notice that they had stopped. And Taeyeon just let her do what she was doing all this time.

The older girl just quietly stands beside her while her hand is still wrapped around hers.

A door was opened by Taeyeon and they get inside. Tiffany’s eyes widened with awe as she threw Taeyeon a glance which was only ignored by the latter.

“This will be your room.”

Tiffany stepped in to the spacious room that looks like a suite room of a very expensive hotel. She really couldn’t help but to feel a bit mesmerized by the sophistication of the room.

“Wow thanks for my golden prison.”

She sarcastically told Taeyeon who just nonchalantly shrugs her shoulders at her in response.

“You’re welcome then. This room has its own bathroom and if you’ll need anything just use that intercom that connects directly to the kitchen, ask for Mrs. Shin she’s in charge.”

Taeyeon left the room afterwards and Tiffany ran towards the door to lock it from the inside. She weakly leaned on the closed door for a while before getting the strength to walk back to the bed. She laid her tired body on the soft mattress.

Tiffany scanned the whole room again; and the walls were painted instead of wallpapered, its color was royal blue and was highlighted by some lighter shades of blue. The room really exudes calmness, coolness and quietness that could make any one staying in it relaxes in an instant.

While the furniture’s were basically all white with littlest hint of blue everywhere and there’s a lot of modern appliances in there too. She sighs heavily but as she do so, her nose sense a faint sweet smell of a perfume that she thinks she has smelled somewhere. Now, Tiffany wondered to whom the rooms belongs to.

Tiffany let out a grunt and decided to tour around her so called prison room. She checks the bathroom and the closet that are already filled with every basic necessity she will need.

Then she looked at window next, just like her previous room in her grandfather’s house this one also has a small veranda but unlike that one, this room has the same floor to ceiling glass window like the rest in the whole house.

She looked outside, the whole place is so open and quiet. Tiffany couldn’t help but think to herself if she really is held captive in this beautiful heaven like place by someone so devil-like.

When she felt tired again, she let herself fell down to the soft bed. Now, her thoughts are filled with everything that has recently happened to her. From her impulsive decision to go back here to Korea, her little argument with her Mom then her meeting with her grandfather and the rest of their family here in Jeonju up to her recent argument with them too.

‘What have you put yourself into Tiffany Hwang?’

She asked herself.

Because right now she really doesn’t even know what is this she had brought upon herself and she really got no else to blame but herself with all of this.

A soft knock on the door brought Tiffany’s thought back to the present. She carefully opened the door because she doesn’t know who’s behind it.
