Chapter 21: The Missing Ring
My On Flight Boyfriend
"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome aboard flight A725 to Seoul Korea. Please pay attention to the emergency procedures video as we take off."
The flight attendant was off the air and it was silent. Wow, you can hear a pin drop in here… The plane continued to move down the runway, moving at a slow speed. To the right of me, Jonghyun was silently snoring. "Jonghyun, are you awake?" I whispered. No response. In front of us the emergency procedures video was projected onto the wall. "To buckle your seat belt insert- blah blah blah blah blah." I mean seriously, who really watches the emergency procedures video… unless you are a first time flyer then that's okay. I diverted my eyes from the screen to out the window. We still hadn't taken off and we were't getting any faster.
Outside of the window was dark. I checked my watch. 3:30 AM. "Ugh. When is this flight going to fly?" I asked impatiently. Jonghyun sleepily looked over at me. "Were you talking to me?" he asked, rubbing his right eye. I shook my head, no. Jonghyun nodded his head and closed his eyes once again. Sigh. Glancing out the window I realized… we were gaining speed. The idea of taking off soon entered my mind. Leaving the ground and into the air…. Scared, I grabbed Jonghyun's hand. Jonghyun slowly opened his eyes. "You okay?" he asked. I frowned at him as the plane shook. "… no" I answered.
Jonghyun threw his left arm over my shoulder and pulled me close to him. "It'll be fine. The plane is just going to… um… start flying?" he said carefully. "Sometimes, you are no help Jonghyun." I said, jokingly. "Hey, I'm trying!" he retaliated. I smiled up at him. "I know, and you're doing a fantastic job." I said snuggling closer to Jonghyun.

Onew's POV
Miyoung and Jonghyun…. There they sat, only a seat away, cuddling with each other. Miyoung was obviously afraid, she is whenever she flies. Usually it's me that holds her, but she went and replaced me. "They are just too perfect to be true," I said grudgingly. *SLAP* "WHAT THE HELL EUN MI?!" I snapped.
Eun Mi looked at me pathetically. She shook her head and pointed to the couple. "You will NEVER get over her if you continue this way," she said. I looked at her confused. "Oh, don't tell me that you don't realize," she said. "First, when you saw Miyoung in the economy class seating, you requested to get a seat closer to her and Jonghyun. THEN, when they won those tickets to first class, you forced the flight attendant to sell you first class tickets. AND THEN, when you lost your ring, we had to go on a crazy scavenger hunt for it before we boarded the plane," she explained. "Enough, is enough."
She was right, but that ring was important! It was the ring that I planned to propose to Miyoung with! It just had a special value to me. Maybe losing that ring is a sign. That there is no chance of getting her back. "You're right dongsaeng," I said sighing. Eun Mi nodded her head and smiled. "Let's just rest for a little while. I'm tired of the drama." Eun Mi suggested. Nodding, I agreed.
I picked up my carry on bag from the floor. Opening it, I searched for my book. Nothing else, I can do besides read right? I pulled out the rather large book and placed it on my lap, ready to close the bag. But something shined from the bottom. I picked up the shining item… my ring. "OPPA! YOU HAD YOUR RING THE WHOLE DAMN TIME?" Eun Mi shouted.
It's a sign. There's still a chance. & this means…
Miyoung, I'm not giving up on you...
