--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Small droplets of water leaked from various locations outside the orphanage building.  The rain had finally let up for the moment, allowing small rays of light to penetrate the dark clouds above. For the time being, it seemed like the sky was finally cheering up after crying for so long. Even the animals whom had hidden themselves away had come out to greet the weather once more. It didn’t matter on how long this lasted. What mattered was the fact that even a small moment of peace had arisen.

A little boy sat at the window sill, his elbow on the firm white wood as his palm kept his head from falling. He watched as a number of droplets fell just outside the window, the delicate water joining its friends to form the puddles that scattered itself along the orphanage property. At the moment, the place looked beautiful as the light from the sun reflected itself off of the many droplets that had taken up residence in their current locations. It just made everything sparkle, causing the flowers to stand out even more than usual.

Just the coloring alone was enough to draw one’s attention. The way the light green grass looked when the sun’s rays reflected off of it, the way the vibrant colors of red, blue, yellow and even the white flowers were able to stand out, the way the bark on the trees of the forest contrasted the bright fields, and the way the sky had a dark yet bright feel to it. All of this just seemed like a picture straight out of a book or a magazine, maybe even the paintings that were found on the walls. It was all almost.. unbelievable.

With this image in front of him, Young Jae couldn’t help but smile as his imagination roamed all around. He could imagine fairies floating from one flower to another to greet one another. He could see the really cute animals playing with one another, playing all sorts of games now that the rain was out of the way. Though.. one thing did catch his attention the most.

The small boy couldn’t help but stare in awe as he saw a very pretty woman gracefully walking through the field, almost as if the wet grass had no effect on her movement. She wore a long white gown that flowed behind her with a thin and transparent layer of cloth that just seemed to make her shine. Her head adorned a flower crown that seemed to have vines flowing through and surrounding the woman’s braided hair, dotting her hair with flowers at just the right spots. The second the woman turned to look his way, Young Jae’s eyes widened.

“Mommy...” (YJ) Getting to his feet, Young Jae pressed his hands against the window as he leaned in close. His mother smiled as she waved to him. His mother had finally come back to him! She was finally here to take him home and keep him safe from all of the bad kids that wanted to hurt him.

He was finally going to have his mom back...

Unaware of his surroundings, the door behind him opened half way as another boy with glasses peeked his head in. The boy didn’t have to look around all that much before he finally spotted the boy that he had been searching for this entire time. Stepping into the room, the boy closed the door behind him before adjusting his glasses. Looking back over at Young Jae, he couldn’t help but wonder what Young Jae was looking at. Just by Young Jae’s actions alone raised the boy’s curiosity level.

Walking up to Young Jae, Daehyun stood as close to him as possible as he looked over Young Jae’s shoulder. All he saw was the field and the forest, but it did look really pretty. He just didn’t understand why Young Jae was acting the way he was. Tilting his head a bit, Daehyun smiled as he looked at Young Jae. “What are you looking at?” (DH)

Slowly, he turned his head to look at Daehyun. Young Jae stared for a brief moment before he jumped away and screamed, quickly placing both hands over his mouth. Daehyun laughed a bit as he looked back out the window. He didn’t think that he would have had that sort of effect on Young Jae. After Young Jae had calmed down, he finally turned to look back out the window. His eyes widened as he pressed his hands back against the cool glass, his forehead pressing against it with disappointment. Young Jae’s hopes had been quickly dashed as he soon realized that all he had seen was no longer there.

Even his mother had disappeared.

Disappointment and sadness was filling the small boy fairly quickly as he continued to stare at the spot that his mother had been standing at. Where had she gone? Why did she leave him... again? Young Jae would have started crying once more, but a warm arm had wrapped itself around his shoulders and pulled him away from his thoughts. He looked to his right, the sadness leaving his being as his eyes spotted the ever glowing smile that Daehyun possessed. Young Jae couldn’t help but smile as he looked back out the window. “I... I thought I saw my mommy.” (YJ)

“Your mommy? She’s here?” (DH) Daehyun looked outside once more, but Young Jae simply shook his head. He still believed that his mommy would come back to pick him up one day, but for now, he was very happy that he had Daehyun and everyone else with him. They were very important to him after all.

“I thought I saw her, but she really isn’t there..” (YJ) Daehyun looked at Young Jae for a moment with a sad look in his eyes. He knew the feeling since he saw his parents sometimes too. However, his parents always told him to distract himself whenever he felt sad. Maybe that would help Young Jae too. Luckily, his plan from earlier seemed to be the best solution at this point. Hopefully it would be fun for Young Jae, but one will never know how things will go unless they try.

“Hey! Do you want to go to the tree house today?” (DH) The tree house? Well... Young Jae did enjoy going to the tree house. It was always a pretty place to go to and that place always managed to spark his imagination so that they would play even more games! With a set decision, Young Jae smiled as he gave a single nod.

“Yeah! It’ll be really fun!” (YJ) Daehyun grinned happily as he took Young Jae’s  hand into his. Just as they started to move towards the door, Young Jae gasped for a moment before running over to Mister Buttons, whom was currently sitting peacefully on the bed. Picking up the Teddy bear, he Mister Button’s head a few times before running back over to Daehyun. He slipped his hand back into Daehyun’s grasp before smiling. “Me and Mister Buttons are ready!” (YJ)

“Okay! But.. we have to go to the cafeteria first. Is that okay?” (DH) Young Jae was rather curious about why they needed to go to the cafeteria. It hadn’t been all that long ago since they had lunch, but if Daehyun really wanted to go, then it was alright if they went. With a small nod from Young Jae, Daehyun grinned once more as he led both of them out of the room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Young Jae continuously glanced down at the picnic basket, his curiosity about ready to burst at any moment. Mrs. Kim had given Daehyun a picnic basket filled with something, but Daehyun wouldn’t tell him what it was. Daehyun simply said that it was something really tasty and that they would have to wait until they got to the tree house to see what was inside. Until then, they had to be really patient.

But how exactly is someone supposed to be patient? What was inside the basket that made it tasty? That could be anything, though.. Young Jae was fine with anything. After all, ever since he came to the Orphanage, he was able to eat as much as he wanted! Well.. maybe he can be really patient just this one time.

The clearing soon came into view and yet, it was still as breathtaking as ever. The flowers were still in full bloom, the stream gave off its delicate music as the rain droplets added the sparkle to make the clearing seem just like an enchanted forest. The sun may not be entirely out to give off its full shine, but it was giving off a decent amount to warm the place up a bit. The only thing that was missing at this point were the fairies that usually made everything sparkle all kinds of colors.

He was soon pulled out of his thoughts as he nearly tripped on the first step. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was holding Daehyun’s hand, he definitely would’ve fallen over. Once he was safely on his feet, he looked up to see Daehyun looking at him with a smile. “Are you okay?” (DH)

“M-Mhm.. Thank you for saving me.” (YJ) Daehyun grinned before the two began ascending the steps. They had to be extra careful though, considering the fact that the steps were currently wet. Still, they were capable of making it to the top with little to no trouble at all.

Entering the tree house, the two made their way over to the table as Daehyun set the picnic basket down. Young Jae sat on the couch, setting Mister Buttons carefully on his lap as his curious eyes remained glued to the basket. Would they be able to see what was in the basket now? He felt like he had been patient enough, but it seemed like Daehyun had a different idea in mind for the time being.

Turning his head to the right, Young Jae watched as Daehyun looked outside the window. Was he waiting for something to happen? What if Daehyun knew that something was going to happen and that was why Daehyun had wanted to go to the tree house? Oh! What if Daehyun knew that fairies or elves were going to come out and play?! Quickly getting to his feet, Young Jae made his way over to the window as he looked outside with excitement.

The two stared outside for a few more seconds before Daehyun turned to look at Young Jae. He was a bit confused to see Young Jae excited like that. Did he really like nature that much? It was pretty and all, but since he had seen it so many times, he had gotten used to how it looked. “Do you wanna see what’s in the basket now?” (DH)

Young Jae perked up as he looked at Daehyun before happily nodding. The two made their way back over to the table and as Young Jae sat back down on the couch, Daehyun bent over as he opened up the basket. Young Jae sat up, attempting to get a look as Daehyun pulled out the items that were currently inside. One by one, Daehyun pulled each and every item out of the basket before setting it down carefully. A stack of napkins, two plates, two forks, and finally, the main item was set down in the middle. Young Jae stared at the box with curiosity, his eyes attempting to see through the cardboard walls that confined the treat within. With a grin gracing his lips, Daehyun took hold of the handle of the lid as he carefully pulled it off. “Taa-daa~! Isn’t it supper neat?” (DH)

“Wooow~! It’s a cake!” (YJ) Ever since his dad had passed away, Young Jae hadn’t had the chance to  eat anything like a cake. Just seeing it now in all of its glory just made his tummy rumble with anticipation. Unlike most cakes that he had seen though, this one didn’t seem to have the large amounts of frosting or pretty decorations that he usually saw on a cake. In fact, this cake seemed to have little to no decoration at all. If it hadn’t been for the fact that it was already cut neatly into pieces and had fruit on each slice, he would’ve been a little disappointed with its appearance. Still, a cake is a cake, right? “Where did you get a cake?” (YJ)

“I got it from Mrs. Kim and it’s not just ANY cake. It’s a cheesecake!” (DH) Young Jae slightly nodded before looking back down at the cheesecake. Did that mean that it was made with cheese? Would it still taste like cake or would it taste like cheese? He didn’t mind if it tasted like cheese. In fact, he really loved cheese! Still.. he would’ve liked to eat a yummy cake. “Come on. Let’s eat it! It’s ALL for us!” (DH)

“All of it?!” (YJ) When Daehyun nodded, Young Jae looked down at the cheesecake in surprise. He remembered his dad telling him that he shouldn’t eat too much cake or he’ll end up getting sick. Would it turn out to be just like he said? But this cheesecake wasn’t all that big so maybe it would be okay if they ended up eating up the entire thing. “O-Okay.. Let’s eat it then!” (YJ)

When scooping up a slice, Daehyun was very careful not to end up ruining it. It was rather surprising for Young Jae to see, considering the fact that he had never seen Daehyun so careful with.. well, anything, before. Once he received his slice, Young Jae took the time to actually examine it. This didn’t look like it had any cheese in it at all, but it also didn’t look like any other cake he has seen before. Maybe it was made out of the white cheese that he heard his friends back at school talk about, but he thought that those didn’t exist! Though.. he did also hear that the moon was made out of cheese and the moon was white, so.. maybe cheesecake was made out of the moon.

Looking up at Daehyun, he could see him eating away happily at his slice. In fact, there were two slices on his plate! Was it really that good? Turning his gaze back down at his slice, Young Jae took in a quiet breath as he pierced the creamy goodness with his fork. He stared in awe at how easy it was to cut through it, almost as if it was a cloud of some sort. Slowly picking up the piece he had cut off, Young Jae brought the piece to his mouth before taking it whole. Once he was certain that he hadn’t missed anything on his fork, that’s when he slid the utensil out of his mouth.

With the taste of the fork out of his mouth, his taste buds seemed to have finally exploded from the overpowering taste of the cheesecake. His tongue savored the taste as his body slightly shook with excitement. Young Jae really had not expected such a delicious taste from cheesecake and he could now see why Daehyun really liked cheesecake. It might even become his favorite cake ever! “It’s so yummy!” (YJ)

“Good!” (DH) Both boys turned to each other before smiling happily. Daehyun was glad to see that Young Jae liked the cheesecake. Sure, that meant less slices for him, but that also meant that he wouldn’t get sick. Mrs. Kim told him that if he had too much cake, then he might throw up and he really didn’t want to do that. Not only did he not like throwing up, but that also meant that he had just wasted a lot of cheesecake!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I’m super duper full..” (YJ) Young Jae rubbed his poor belly as he laid on the couch with Mister Buttons next to him. They had managed to eat the entire cheesecake, though Young Jae couldn’t eat as many slices as Daehyun could. He didn’t regret eating so much cheesecake though. It was really good and he couldn’t wait until the next time he would get the chance to eat more cheesecake with Daehyun. “What do we do now?” (YJ)

“I’ll clean up and then, um... we can go back if you want. I don’t know what we should do..” (DH) Young Jae nodded as Daehyun began cleaning up. Young Jae was a bit disappointed that they were heading back already. He had hoped that they would play a really fun game since they were at the tree house. They usually did have a lot of fun here and Young Jae didn’t want to go back yet, so maybe there was something he could think of to do here.

“C-Can we play before we go..?” (YJ) Daehyun carefully set the places inside of the picnic basket before looking up at Young Jae.

“Okay, but.. um.. what should we play?” (DH) Young Jae shrugged, which made Daehyun begin to think. He didn’t really know what they were supposed to play, but he wanted to think of something to do. There were definitely a number of games that they could do, but either he was bored of it or Young Jae might not like it. He wasn’t certain, but he had to at least try. “Um.. maybe we can play at the beach.” (DH)

“Mm... Okay! I wanna build a really big sand castle with you! We have to make it as big as us too!” (YJ) Young Jae couldn’t wait to go back to the beach with Daehyun. He hadn’t gone to the beach in a while and they hadn’t played there yet, so this would definitely be fun! Though.. Mister Buttons might have to stay behind. He had gotten covered in sand before and it had been really hard to clean him up without putting him in the machine to wash it. “Are we going to come back here?” (YJ)

Daehyun thought on it for a moment as he looked down at the picnic basket. He had planned on just bringing the basket with them the entire time, but it seemed like it would be better leave it here. After all, they had to come back through here to get home, so it should be alright to leave it here until they got back. “Yeah, I think we are.” (DH)

“Good!” (YJ) Looking over at Young Jae, Daehyun watched as Young Jae smiled while looking down at Mister Buttons. Once he saw Young Jae setting Mister Buttosn down at the corner of the sofa, that was when Daehyun realized that Young Jae had asked because of the Teddy bear. Regardless, all he had to do now was finish cleaning up before they headed out.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stepping out of the forest, the two small boys smiled as they looked at the beach. The waves were a little more active due to the weather and the sand was fairly wet from the rain, but it wasn’t necessarily a dangerous place. As long as the two didn’t go into the water at this time, they had nothing to worry about. “The sand's all wet..” (YJ)

“That’s a really good thing! That means the sand will stick together a lot better and we can make better sand castles.” (DH) Young Jae thought on it for a moment before nodding. If Daehyun said that it was better, then that means that it really was better! Young Jae was actually happy that the sand was wet now. “Where do you wanna build?” (DH)

“Um..” (YJ) Looking around, Young Jae wasn’t necessarily certain as to where to go to build. Did it matter where they built? As long as they made a really big and nice sand castle, then it should be alright if they built anywhere. He did, however, know that they shouldn’t build near the ocean. He didn’t want to get his clothes wet and the water might ruin the castle if they did. “Um.. I think.. over there!” (YJ)

“Okay, let’s go!” (DH) The two began walking towards where Young Jae had pointed towards. They had their buckets and their shovels, to which they had kept stored in the tree house, and they were fairly ready to work on their sand castle. Coming to a stop, the two crouched down before they began getting to work.

Time ticked by as the two continued working hard to build the sand castle that Young Jae had hoped for. It seemed to go well and most of the the castle was standing up rather nicely. Just as Young Jae started to fill up the yellow bucket that he was using, Young Jae flinched as he felt a droplet hit him on his nose. Reaching up, he rubbed his nose a bit as he went back to filling his bucket with more sand. It didn’t really occur to him at that very moment that the rain could be starting up once more.

“I got another bucket of sand, Daehyun! Where do I put it?” (YJ) Young Jae stood up as he picked up the bucket of sand. He made his way over to Daehyun, whom was currently standing by the castle. It wasn’t as big as they hoped, but they had somehow managed to get it up to waist height. They didn’t know exactly how a castle looked like either, so they could only guess and rely on what they assumed a castle looked like.

“Um.. Over there at the other corner! We’re almost done with the walls.” (DH) As Young Jae made his way over to where Daehyun had pointed to, Daehyun flinched as he felt a water droplet hit his cheek. Wiping his cheek, Daehyun looked up at the sky as he finally noticed the sky growing darker once more. He wasn’t entirely certain, but he did know that they had to go back now. “Young Jae.. It’s going to rain. I think we have to go back now.” (DH)

“Aw.. But we’re not done yet..” (YJ) Young Jae looked up at Daehyun as he gave a pouty face. Daehyun pouted as well, a bit saddened by Young Jae’s saddened look. He couldn’t help but fall for Young Jae’s look before nodding a bit.

“Okay! Let’s finish first and then we can go. But we have to be really quick or else we’ll get wet.” (DH) Young Jae grinned happily as he nodded. With that in mind, the two began working faster than before in an attempt to finish the castle as fast as possible. They could feel a few droplets here and there, but they were determined to finish the castle before they had to go back home.

“I wanna put a shell here..” (YJ) Young Jae crouched down and stared at the things that they had collected around the beach. There were a few things here and there that were really pretty, but Young Jae didn’t see the kind of shell that he wanted to put on the castle. Getting to his feet, he started looking around before his eyes spotted the shell that he had wanted. With a smile, Young Jae ran over to it before crouching down and digging the sand around the half buried shell. Picking the shell up, he held his smile as he dusted it off a bit. It just seemed like the best shell to use.

“Young Jae, hurry! There’s more rain!” (DH) Pulling himself from his thoughts, he now noticed that the rain was falling in greater amounts now. Turning around, Young Jae ran back over to Daehyun before sticking the shell on the biggest tower. Both boys smiled happily as they took a few steps back to examine their creation. “It looks really nice.” (DH)

“Mhm..” (YJ) Neither one of the two boys had a camera, so they tried to remember as much of the sand castle as possible. They didn’t really want to leave, especially since they were having a lot of fun, but.. once the rain started to fall, the two quickly gathered their things and started running.

The leaves above managed to provide some sort of shelter for the two boys as they ran. Sure, a few droplets managed to make it through at various locations, but it was enough to keep them dry for the most part. They just had to make it to the tree house before the rain fell in greater quantities. They may not make it back to the orphanage, but they would at least have some sort of shelter to stay dry in.

It had gotten cold fairly quickly, but then again, the temperature had been rather cool all day. As the two came to the clearing, they picked up the pace. With nothing but grass and flowers on the ground, they didn’t really have to worry about tripping on roots, bushes, or anything along those lines. It wasn’t that long of a run also, but they did have to slow down once they were at the steps. After all, it was important to be as safe as possible.

Once inside, Daehyun shut the door behind them before they inspected themselves. They were a little wet, but not as bad as they would have been if they had stayed at the beach any longer. The sound of the rain outside drew their attention as it seemed like it was raining harder now. Both boys walked up to the window, finally noticing that the rain was covering the majority of the background that they normally saw. The only things that they could see well enough was the clearing and the border of trees along the clearing.

“It’s raining a lot..” (YJ) Daehyun merely hummed in response as they continued to watch the rain. How were they going to get back now? They didn’t have an umbrella with them and they couldn’t run through it without getting drenched to the bone. “What do we do now..?” (YJ)

“Um... I guess we have to wait until the rain stops. Mr. Kim will get mad if we end up coming back wet.” (DH) Young Jae nodded a bit as they both turned and walked over to the couch. Sitting down, they sat awkwardly in silence as they attempted to wait patiently for the rain to stop. Sadly, boredom was kicking in rather quickly as Daehyun sneakily glanced over at Young Jae. “Um.. Do you.. wanna play a game?” (DH)

“Yeah! What kind of game are we going to play?” (YJ) Young Jae looked over at Daehyun with excitement clear on his face. Daehyun couldn’t help but smile also, almost as if being happy was contagious. It was rather nice to be happy, even when they were in a situation like this. All that mattered now was trying to figure out what kind of game they should play.

“Do you wanna play super heroes? We can make the toys the villain.” (DH) It was a game that Daehyun almost always loved to play. In fact, it was most likely his favorite game at this very moment. It was just a matter of whether Young Jae wanted to play or not. Of course, Young Jae did want to play, but.. his gaze turned to Mister Buttons, whom was currently sitting innocently at the spot he had been the entire time. He thought on the suggestion for a moment longer before turning back to Daehyun.

“But.. I don’t want Mister buttons to be a bad guy..” (YJ) Daehyun frowned a bit as he looked at Mister Buttons. Well, maybe they could play a different game. Thinking on it for a moment, Daehyun looked outside as he noticed that it was starting to get dark. He got to his feet, taking a few steps forward before pausing and looking back at Young Jae.

“We can tell stories! Um.. we can make a fort and tell stories in it. Is that a better idea?” (DH) It sounded like a neat idea. Building a fort already perked Young Jae’s attention, but the chance to also tell stories?! It just seemed really fun and nice for everyone!

“Okay! I wanna do that.” (YJ) With a nod, Young Jae go tot his feet and picked up Mister Buttons before both boys made their way to the other room. Once inside, they looked around for a moment. “Um.. How do we build a fort?” (YJ)

“Mm.. we need chairs, two blankets, and lots of pillows! So let’s gather lots of things.” (DH) With a nod, both boys split up as they went around the room to gather everything that they needed. It wasn’t all that difficult since the things they needed were all there already. It was just a matter of whether they had enough pillows to make the most comfiest fort ever. With everything gathered, Daehyun examined everything as he smiled and nodded. “Okay. Let’s try our best, okay?” (DH)

“Okay!” (YJ) The two boys soon began constructing the fort with Daehyun leading everything. Since he knew how to build the fort, Daehyun wanted to make sure that everything went well. After all, Young Jae seemed to be having fun and it would if the fort didn’t stay like how he wanted it to.

Once they were done, the two gathered anything that they wanted before crawling into the fort and setting everything up. With the thicker blanket laid down, the two laid on top of it before looking at one another. Young Jae smiled a bit as he moved closer to Daehyun, their arms and legs touching as he looked up. “It’s super neat.” (YJ)

“Yeah! Oh.. I have a light we can use when it’s really dark out. It makes it really awesome looking!” (DH) Daehyun didn’t want to admit it, but he was scared of the dark. He did wish that they were back at the orphanage, but he felt calm enough with Young Jae next to him. At least when night fell, Young Jae was here to keep him company.

“I wanna see it. Can we see it now? It’s already almost dark out!” (YJ) Daehyun thought on it for a moment before nodding. Looking to his left, Daehyun reached for a circular device before pressing a button on it. He had set it up earlier, so the lights were supposed to be facing the blanket. Almost instantly, the lights shone through as star-shaped lights danced along the surface of the blanket. The lights, with the slowly turning device, almost resembled the night sky on a clear day. Young Jae looked up with wide eyes, a smile on his face as he watched the stars dancing along. “Wooow! It’s so pretty, Daehyun!” (YJ)

“Yep. It’s my favorite light. My mom gave it to me to scare the monsters away at night.” (DH) Daehyun turned his head towards Young Jae, whom was currently still looking at the lights. Daehyun smiled as he looked back up at the stars before moving his head closer to Young Jae’s head. “Young Jae..?” (DH)

“What is it?” (YJ)

“I’m hungry..” (DH)

“.. Me too..” (YJ) Since they had eaten all of the cheesecake, there wasn’t any other food to eat. Plus, it was now dinnertime back home, so their tummies were reacting to a schedule that they had fairly gotten used to by now.

Young Jae looked down as he felt his arm being lifted up. He watched as Daehyun guided Young Jae’s arm up towards his head before finally... Daehyun bit down on Young Jae’s arm. Young Jae’s eyes widened as he quickly pulled his arm away, wiping the saliva as he looked at it in slight worry and disgust. “Daehyuuun! I’m not food!” (YJ)

“But I’m so hungryyyy...” (DH) Daehyun rubbed his poor belly as he took his glasses off and set it off to the side. He didn’t like missing a meal. In fact, he had never missed a meal his entire life. Food was far too important to just let slip through his fingers like that! So, laying here with his tummy crying out for food practically killed him. “What do we do, Young Jae?” (DH)

“I dunno..” (YJ)

“Can we.. hold hands?” (DH) Both boys turned their heads towards one another before Young Jae nodded. Looking down, Daehyun raised his hand a bit before Young Jae carefully slipped his fingers between Daehyun’s fingers. With their hands closed tightly around one another, they set their hands back onto the floor as they huddled up to one another. “It’s cold..” (DH)

“Mhm.. But you’re really warm.” (YJ)

“Then we can warm each other up!” (DH)

“H-Huh..?” (YJ) Young Jae’s eyes widened as Daehyun soon crawled on top of Young Jae. Young Jae grunted a bit from the sudden weight on his tummy, his eyebrows furrowing a bit as he felt Daehyun rest his head on his right side. “D-Daehyun..! Get off... You’re super heavy and it’s hurting my tummy!” (YJ)

“But you’re really warm..” (DH) With a small, disappointed sigh, Daehyun rolled off of Young Jae before assuming his position from before. Young Jae let out a relieved sigh as he rubbed his tummy. Daehyun reached forward and rubbed Young Jae’s tummy as well as he looked at Young Jae. “I’m sorry. I didn’t want to hurt you. You’re just super warm.” (DH)

“It’s okay. B-But.. um.. can we use the blanket instead? I don’t want my tummy to hurt again.” (YJ)  Daehyun nodded as he sat up. Looking around for a moment, he leaned forward as he reached for the edge of the blanket and pulled it over them. Adjusting themselves a bit, they laid underneath the blanket as they attempted to snuggle up to one another once more.

“You had a really great idea, Young Jae.” (DH)

“T-Thank you..” (YJ) Young Jae smiled as he turned a bit red from the compliment. He tilted his head, the top of his head resting against Daehyun’s chest as he closed his eyes. “Daehyun.. you’re really nice. I like you a lot.” (YJ)

“Thank you! I really like you too.” (DH) Daehyun wrapped an arm around Young Jae as he closed his eyes as well. Taking in Young Jae’s scent, Daehyun smiled a bit. “Good night, Young Jae.” (DH)

“Nighty night..” (YJ) Young Jae yawned a bit as he placed a hand on Daehyun’s chest. Smacking his lips a bit, Young Jae reached around for a moment before pulling Mister Buttons in between them. Sleep was very close to taking over, but the rumbling sound of thunder soon sounded through the air, causing Young Jae to tense up and yelp as he grabbed Daehyun’s shirt. Daehyun opened his eyes, turning his face towards Young Jae as he looked at Young Jae.

“Are you alright?” (DH)

“T-Thunder scares me..” (YJ) Young Jae had just started to calm down when thunder sounded once more, causing Young Jae to tense up yet again. Daehyun frowned as he rubbed Young Jae’s back, trying to think for a moment. How was he going to help Young Jae fall asleep if the thunder was scaring him all the time? Luckily, it didn’t take long before Daehyun came up with an idea.

“I know! Move a little bit, Young Jae.” (DH) Young Jae slowly looked up at Daehyun before nodding. Moving here and there, Daehyun laid on his back as he guided Young Jae’s ear to his chest. Young Jae looked around in confusion, but feeling Daehyun’s arm around him and Daehyun’s free hand slowly caressing his hair brought some comfort to him. “Do you hear my heart?” (DH)

“Mm... Mhm.” (YJ)

“Try to listen only to my heartbeat! My mom let me listen to her heartbeat every time I was scared of a sound and it worked a lot for me, so.. I hope it works for you too.” (DH) Young Jae nodded a bit as he tried to focus on Daehyun’s heartbeat. The thunder sounded again and Young Jae tensed up, but he quickly shut his eyes tightly as he focused again on Daehyun’s heart. Grabbing Daehyun’s shirt, Young Jae tried to calm his breathing as thunder sounded once more. Little by little, Young Jae was slowly falling asleep once more despite the thunder sounding. It seemed like listening to Daehyun’s heartbeat was doing the trick and before he knew it, he was sleeping peacefully.

Lifting his head a bit, Daehyun looked down at Young Jae before slightly nudging Young Jae. When he was sure that Young Jae was asleep, Daehyun smiled once more as he rested his head back onto the ground. Closing his eyes, Daehyun kept his hand on Young Jae’s head as he continued to hold Young Jae. He hoped that Young Jae would sleep peacefully everyday.

[[ My Own Thoughts:

I am so sorry that this chapter is late ;; !!
I changed the chapters around last minute, so I have chapter 6 ready, but not chapter 5. @_@
Hence why this chapter is late.
I apologize again and I really hope I don’t end up doing that again. @_@

I also had to release this chapter earlier than normally scheduled
because I am stuck going to my dad's event with the family. @_@
And normally won't be home until late ._.

Comments are loved!
They’re optional, but I do love to know everyone’s thoughts on the fanfic.
Plus, I love talking with everyone. x3 ]]

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
