--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was just a few more days until the party was to commence. Feelings of nervousness or excitement ran through those whom would attend, but a feeling of uncertainty also ran through at least one person. Could that person help it though? They had not had the chance to meet anyone else that would be attending this party, so in a way, they would end up being that lone person whom would feel left out. Would they let it get in the way though? Of course not! They just needed to somehow manage to create a good impression.

What better way to start if off with than by finding the perfect outfit? Tiffany needed to show that she had style and the ability to stand out in a positive way. Besides her already positive personality, appearance was everything in a society where practically everyone is being judged by someone else.  So, she needed to make certain that she looked the part and didn’t end up embarrassing anyone while at the party.

“Hyosung! What am I going to do?! Nothing in this closet has that right umph to it!” (TF) Tiffany just couldn’t seem to find the right attire to wear at the party. Sure, the party wasn’t going to be focused on her and she was well aware of that, but she wanted to make a good impression. There were just so many factors that were placed into deciding an outfit and none of her clothes seemed to fall into any of those factors.

“Well.. Is it a casual party or a formal party? It shouldn’t be that difficult to choose with that, right?” (HS) Hyosung shifted a bit to get more comfortable. She didn’t entirely understand why Tiffany was getting so worked up over the whole thing, but she had some sort of idea. “Well? Which is it?” (HS)

“Um.. It’s.. oh! It’s casual, but I want to look stunning, but not too stunning, you know? It’s important to have that feel to it!” (TF) Hyosung nodded a bit as Tiffany pulled out three more dresses that practically screamed for attention. Before she could say anything about it though, Tiffany had thrown the dresses onto the already large pile of clothes before going back into her closet to look for something else. “There’s just nothing! What are you gonna wear? Did you pick something already?” (TF)

“Me?” (HS) Hyosung thought on it for a brief moment as she delicately tapped her chin. Technically, she already had something picked out. Unlike Tiffany, Hyosung wasn’t necessarily as picky when it came to what to wear. Plus, since Tiffany said that it was a casual party, then she already had an outfit in mind. Of course, it also didn’t really matter at the moment anyway. She wasn’t aiming to stand out or please anyone, well.. besides a certain someone. “Yeah. I already know what I’m going to wear. It’ll be just enough to win Kyungsoo over, I just know it!” (HS)

“Ew! I will never understand why you like a guy like that!” (TF) Tiffany threw out a few more dresses before sticking her head out from behind the closet doorway. She looked over at Hyosung, whom seemed to be quite bored at the moment. “Why do you like him anyway? He’s so rude and mean towards Young Jae! He’s so.. sleazy!” (TF)

Was she even certain that that word was the right one? No, she wasn’t, but did she care? Of course not! Tiffany just did not like Kyungsoo. No matter what Young Jae was doing, Kyungsoo always seemed to go out of his way just to mess with him. It was rather annoying and if it wasn’t for the fact that she had to be on good terms with Young Jae and Kyungsoo’s parents, she would have said something about it already. Actually, she did say something about it once to Young Jae’s mother, but she said something about boys being boys. Whether or not that was true, she just hoped that it didn’t end up leading to any sort of fights breaking out between the two.

“So? He’s cute annnnd.. He’s going to inherit the company. That’s the kind of guy my parents want me to marry, so whatever. At least Kyungsoo’s cute.” (HS) Tiffany rolled her eyes as she pulled herself back into the closet. She didn’t necessarily agree with Hyosung’s statement, but then again.. with how their parents were, Tiffany could understand the pressure of having to marry a certain somebody.

“You should marry for love, not for money! What if Kyungsoo isn’t even interested or what if he’s abusive? There would be no point to trying to win Kyungsoo over then!” (TF) Hyosung sighed as she watched yet another dress come flying out of the closet. Thinking about it now, she was rather curious about Tiffany’s situation.

“Is that what you’re doing? You’re going to marry for love?” (HS)

“Of course!” (TF) That has been her dream since she was a little girl. The princesses in the movies have always ended up marrying for love and thus, she wanted to do the same. Sure, she knew that happily ever afters didn’t necessarily exist, but it was something that she wanted to do. So what if the guy she ended up marrying wasn’t the best at being romantic or being great in bed like other people prefer? As long as the guy was genuinely nice and someone that she truly loved, then there wouldn’t be any problems.

Slowing her pace a bit, Tiffany’s thoughts began to roam towards her future husband. Even if she was marrying for love, would he be doing the same? There were some people whom did say that love was blind after all, so it did somewhat make her worried. Well.. all she could do was hope that it turned out to be love and not because of certain arrangements. For now, she shouldn’t be worrying too much about it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everything just had to be perfect for her son’s little reunion party! Even though they had agreed on a nice, casual setting, Hanbi wanted everything to be spectacular! Here and there, they could have something simple like nice, elegant, white table clothes with marvelous center pieces. Clearly, vases filled with brilliant bouquets were necessary for decoration followed by a ring of short candles surrounding each of these vases. Of course, these candles had to be battery powered. It wouldn’t do them any good if the flowers suddenly caught fire!

Then, there were the chairs. The backs of each chair would have a lovely white cloth that was tied back by a large, pretty yellow bow with a gem of sorts in the middle. It was simple and still quite lovely at the same time. As long as the decorations went well with the room and everything else that was planned, then everything should go pleasantly well. Of course, Young Jae did also have the last say on everything. It was his party after all and Hanbi didn’t want to end up taking complete control over his little man’s party.

“Everything seems to be going rather splendidly! I believe everything should be done by Saturday.” (MY) Hanbi nodded in approval of her own words as she took another look around the room. Everything did seem quite nice, but she just had this feeling that there was a possibility that it could be better. Was she going to change anything though? Well, she could, but she decided against it. Any last minute changes could cause everything to go completely wrong and that was a big no-no!

A chuckle escaped from Hyunki as he saw just how excited his employer was. “Are you organizing this party for your son or for yourself?” (HK)

It took a minute, but once Hanbi was definitely certain that she liked how everything was going, she turned her head towards Hyunki before looking back out to the room. “Of course it’s for little Young Jae! He deserves to have a nice party. Okay.. only a little bit is for myself, but can I not have fun while planning my little boy’s party?” (MY)

Both of them chuckled a bit as Hanbi continued to observe the workers that were still putting up the decorations. She probably would have asked Hyunki his opinion on the room, but the second she heard footsteps from by the entranceway, Hanbi looked over to see Kyungsoo walking into the room. With a smile, she folded her arm as she looked back out at the room. “Mom, I-” (DO)

“Dear, what do you think of the decorations?” (MY) Kyungsoo rolled his eyes before looking out at the room. As much as he wanted to deny it, Kyungsoo did have to admit that his mother always had the greatest taste. The room actually did look great, though he didn’t necessarily care. After all, it wasn’t his party.

“It looks great. Anyway, did you already book entertainment?” (DO) Alarms began to go off in Hanbi’s head the second she heard Kyungsoo’s question. She knew that whenever Kyungsoo had any interest in something related to Young Jae, he always pulled some sort of prank in order to embarrass his brother. Hanbi couldn’t help but feel suspicious about it, but somehow, she managed not to display her suspicions.

“Yes, I have. I got a lovely quintet and a singer to come perform. They will play for a total of five hours, taking turns every hour to perform. Why do you ask?” (HB) Kyungsoo smiled a bit as his plan seemed to be developing rather nicely. If his mother ended up agreeing to what he had in store, then he would have quite a nice time watching Young Jae become embarrassed in front of all his little friends.

“Why not have a performer during dinner, when everyone’s eating?” (DO)

“A performer?” (HB) Well, she technically already had the quintet and the singer. They were performers, were they not? Unless Kyungsoo meant something else, then Hanbi didn’t necessarily see where Kyungsoo was going with this. “We already have performers, deary! Did you have something else in mind?” (HB)

“Yes! Someone that can entertain through a different method. Something like a... dancer.” (DO) A dancer? Hanbi didn’t necessarily see the point behind hiring a dancer when everyone would be dancing themselves with the music playing. She had even hired a DJ of sorts by Young Jae’s request, though that was supposed to be a surprise. Of course, if it’s during dinner, then it wouldn’t hurt to have a dancer.

“Well.. where would I find a dancer on such short notice?” (HB)

“I already have it covered. Young Jae requested me to get them, so I already got them ahead of time.” (DO)

“Young Jae did?” (HB) Even though Kyungsoo gave a nod, Hanbi didn’t necessarily believe him. The two rarely ever got along and when they did, it was only because her or their father had been keeping an eye on them. However, she would have to give Kyungsoo the benefit of the doubt and believe him this one time. After all, he was her son and it wouldn’t be fair if she only gave positive attention to Young Jae. “Well.. Alright. I will let you handle that.” (HB)

“Great! Well, I have to get going.” (DO) Without letting his mother respond in any sort of way, Kyungsoo had already turned around before heading back out where he came from. Hanbi frowned a bit as she folded her arms, uncertainty crossing her mind. Was it really alright to let something like this pass? As much as she wanted to trust Kyungsoo, when it came to Young Jae, Hanbi just couldn’t help but be suspicious about Kyungsoo’s motives.

The second Kyungsoo left the room, Hanbi let out a sigh. She needed to make certain that Kyungsoo’s motives were pure, otherwise there could be trouble that would occur at the party. Without turning, Hanbi spoke to Hyunki in a slightly hushed tone. “Hyunki.. I want you to follow Kyungsoo and make sure that he isn’t planning anything bad.” (HB)

“Yes ma’am.” (HK) Once Hyunki set off to follow Kyungsoo, Hanbi let out a sigh as she made her way over to the couch that had been moved off to the side. It would be a lie if she said that she didn’t understand why Kyungsoo was acting like this, but she wish that he would stop this foolishness already. She had made certain to keep an eye on him, but how long would she be able to do such a thing?

Looking up, Hanbi quickly jumped to her feet as she began walking towards the workers, her finger pointing here and there in an attempt to get them to move something over. Maybe this could help get her mind of Kyungsoo for the meantime. With Hyunki following Kyungsoo, there shouldn’t be anything to worry about... right?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Everything was going according to plan.

With the approval that he had received from his foolish mother, his little prank would be fulfilled quite nicely. Maybe he should step it up if it was this easy? After all, this definitely hasn’t been the worst prank that he’s pulled yet. Then again, he knew that his mother was most likely going to be there as well, so it probably would be best not to step it up this time. After all, he was already going to get into trouble for this and most likely, his mother was going to tell his father about this, so it was probably best to at least save himself just a little bit.

Once the car was to a full stop and off, Kyungsoo stepped out of his car with his keys and a folder in hand before he locked the car doors. Stuffing his keys into his pocket, Kyungsoo made his way out of the parking lot and towards the cafe that he had planned to meet Taehyung at. The cafe was a place that Taehyung had suggested, but Kyungsoo preferred the more... expensive places. Being at a place like this just wasn’t exactly all that fulfilling. Why? Well, because he detested the idea of being a commoner like everyone else. Sure, he knew full well that he wasn’t royalty, but since he had the money, why not go someplace better?

Well, it did not matter. He wasn’t going to get anything anyway, so why bother complain? Plus, Taehyung has been quite a resourceful ally. Might as well throw him a bone every now and then. How else would he have such information if it wasn’t for Taehyung? Well, he did have a few other sources, but so far, Taehyung has proven to be one of the best despite how young he was, but that was enough of that.

Entering the cafe, he stuffed his free hand into his pocket before looking around. It wasn’t as crowded as he assumed it would have been, which was good. He disliked crowded places, but that didn’t really matter all that much now. Once his eyes landed on the back of whom he assumed was Taehyung, Kyungsoo smirked a bit as he began to make his way towards him.

Walking around the table, Kyungsoo looked down at the person before sitting across from him. Taehyung looked up from his phone just for a brief moment before looking back down. Kyungsoo would have expected some sort of greeting from him, but it seemed like Taehyung didn’t seem all that interested... which annoyed Kyungsoo a bit. Still.. he wasn’t going to let it get to him. Something as insignificant as a greeting shouldn’t be something that would cause some sort of tick. “Did you get the information that I requested?” (DO)

“All in here.” (V) Reaching behind him, Taehyung ruffled through his bag for a bit before pulling out a folder. Placing it on the table, he set a single finger on the folder as he slid it towards Kyungsoo. Once that was settled, Taehyung went back to doing whatever it was he was doing. “His name is Daehyun annnd.. Daehyun doesn’t have an interesting life, so I don’t know why you’re interested in him.” (V)

“Does it matter? He’s friends with Young Jae. That’s good enough reason for me.” (DO) Picking up the folder with a rather pleased look on his face, Kyungsoo opened it up before he began skimming through it. All the information he needed on Daehyun was right here. Now.. all he needed to do was figure out how to use this information in order to further benefit himself. How he planned to do that though, he wasn’t entirely certain. Then again, he had plenty of time to come up with a plan. It’s not like this information was going anywhere, after all.

“What about that thing? Did your mom approve of it?” (V)

“Hm?” (DO) He had been a bit too engrossed in his own thoughts to recall right away what Taehyung was talking about. Once it finally did click, Kyungsoo smirked a bit as he took out his folder and tossed it over to the other side of the table. Taehyung just merely glanced at it before turning his attention back towards his phone. “Yeah.. I got the approval. So make sure to contact him, alright?” (DO)

“Then what’s the folder for?” (V)

“Disposal. I don’t need it.” (DO) The folder simply contained information about certain.. dancers.. within the area. Kyungsoo had wanted to hire quite a number of dancers, but just one would suffice. Of course, he also didn’t want the folder simply because it would look quite bad if he was found with a folder containing such information.

“So you couldn’t get rid of it yourself?” (V) Kyungsoo merely shrugged as he sat back in his seat. It could have been because he was just too lazy to do it himself or maybe he would have preferred for someone else to do it. Who knows what he was thinking when he came up with the decision? “Well, it’s covered. Anything else?” (V)

Well, there didn’t seem to be anything else that Kyungsoo knew about. Unless Taehyung had some sort of idea that he wanted to throw in, there didn’t seem to be any other business that needed tending to. Though... there was a few other things that he wanted to know about. “So.. Is there anything else that isn’t in this folder that you found out about Daehyun?” (DO)

While they spoke of whatever seemed to come up, at a table close enough but not too close, Hyunki sat behind a newspaper, eyeing the two every now and then. He would write down something in a note pad whenever interesting or suspicious came up, but other than that, there didn’t seem to be too much information that would draw forth a lot of attention. The only thing that he did take extra note of would be about this Daehyun. Whomever he was, it seemed like trouble would only brew for him and Young Jae since he seems to be a key of some sort that would get Young Jae to do something. The question was on just how terrible this idea of Kyungsoo’s might be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Welcome to my home..! Uh... wellllcome.. to my home.. no.. uh...” (YJ) Young Jae rubbed the back of his head as he continued to stare at himself in the mirror. He was trying to practice his greeting for Saturday, but for some reason, he was just never satisfied with the outcome. He had attempted changing up the words, changing his facial expression, or even throwing in odd accents that most likely didn’t even exist. Each and every time though, it ended up becoming an oddity instead of the warm welcome that he had hoped to achieve.

Clearing his throat, Young Jae furrowed his eyebrows and pursed his lips as he focused hard on his reflection. There had to be some sort of greeting out there that would be suitable for the occasion! He needed to give a good impression for everyone, especially since he hasn’t seen the majority of them in such a long time. Would they even remember him? Even if they didn’t, he would make certain that tonight would be memorable.

Soon, that ended up being the last thing on his mind.

What would Daehyun think of he found out about his current financial status?! The fact that he was keeping it a secret was a stupid motion on his own, but now he was about to be found out! Okay, sure, he had a right to keep things secret, but it was bound to come out sooner or later and he kind of wished that it would happen later.

What would Daehyun think once he found out? Would Daehyun be disappointed in him for not saying anything? Maybe Daehyun would become one of those people whom constantly ‘borrowed’ money. This was definitely not looking good so far. There were far too many outcomes to this and Young Jae really didn’t want to see any of them. Of course.. what if Daehyun ended up just accepting it and not saying anything about it? That seemed like something Daehyun would do, right? Sure, they still didn’t know enough about one another to judge anything, but from what he remembered during their childhood, Daehyun was the type of person whom didn’t care about who you were or where you came from. As long as you were a nice person to play with, then everything should be fine.

So then.. how was he going to break the news to Daehyun?

His eyes widened as uncertainty slapped him over the fact yet again. Okay, so it wasn’t really that big of a deal, but it felt like it was a huge deal! Here he was, living a luxurious life with the ability to travel anywhere in the world and still have plenty of money left over to buy a house at each travel destination he went to! Okay, so that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but that still didn’t mean that he didn’t have money to spare!

Taking in a deep breath, Young Jae lightly pat his cheeks a few times as he continued to stare at his reflection. He just needed to come up with something that would ease Daehyun into this realization, right? Right! Of course! It had to be simple after all. Daehyun wasn’t the type to judge nor was he the type to become intimidated nor was he the type to take advantage of people! So.. he just needed to somehow keep himself calm and hope that things worked out in the end. Taking in yet another deep breath, Young Jae let out a slow sigh before focusing in on his eyes. “Welcome to my home!” (YJ)

Young Jae shook his head, trying to think of something else to say. He had been saying that one line far too many times for it to sound appealing now. Plus, it also sounded far too energetic. He didn’t want to sound like himself when he had been a kid, always waiting for the few people and becoming instantly happy when they finally showed up. Instead, he had to act like the person that he was now. Focusing in on his eyes, Young Jae attempted to smile as another sentence finally appeared in his head. “Guess what, Daehyun? I’m sort of.. rich! Funny, right?” (YJ)

The instant that sentence left his mouth, Young Jae quickly slapped his forehead before letting out a slight groan. What the heck was he thinking?! That was definitely not the kind of thing he should be saying! He needed to be serious, but not too serious. That sentence alone was a joke of some sort and it was just something that shouldn’t fly by him like that. “So, uh... Daehyun! I, uh.. I’ve got a lot of money so you should accept the money that I’ve offered!” (YJ)

Yet another slap to the forehead before he began walking towards his bed. Now that was just flaunting the fact that he had money! He couldn’t do that to Daehyun. Though.. the more he thought about it, the more obvious the answer became. Although he did not like this answer, Young Jae knew that this was the only answer that made the most sense in this kind of situation. Exactly what might that answer be?

Well.. he’s ed.

Flopping onto the bed, Young Jae buried his face into the nearest pillow he could grab. There was just no getting out of this. Unless he pulled Daehyun away from his home before he could see it, then there was nothing Young Jae could do to continue hiding his wealth. He didn’t care if anyone else found it, but if Daehyun found out, what if he ended up being hurt that Young Jae didn’t tell him anything?

Wait. Why did he only care if Daehyun was hurt by this? He had a number of friends that he was okay with telling about his financial status, so why was it only with Daehyun that he was worried about this? It’s not like he had a different sort of feelings for Daehyun, right? They were, so far, really good friends! So.. he shouldn’t have to worry about telling Daehyun anything.

Friends... Just... friends. That had to be the case, right? But then... why did he have these feelings for Daehyun? Was it possible that... No, no, no! That can’t be the case. Ever since that day when he had gone to the bowling alley with Daehyun, his heartbeat just seemed to always flutter about whenever he thought about Daehyun! It was driving him insane, but it just had to be anxiety or.. something like that! Yeah.. maybe because they were close friends back during their childhood, Young Jae felt like he needed to impress Daehyun in a big way. Yeah, that had to be it. It made total sense! There was just.. no way that he could have feeling for Daehyun.

Turning onto his back, Young Jae let out a small sigh. He now had regrets for not telling Daehyun ahead of time. Knowing Daehyun’s personality, or at least assuming that he knew, Young Jae was certain that he didn’t need to go trying to impress Daehyun. Daehyun already liked him for who he was, so why did he feel like he needed to prove himself to Daehyun? It just didn’t make any sense.

His eyes widened as he quickly pushed himself up to a sitting position. He had completely forgotten to give money to Daehyun! How could he have forgotten something so important?! Daehyun needed that money to go back and graduate with a medical degree and yet he had completely forgotten about it! He smacked his forehead once more, causing him to fall back onto his back as he let out an annoyed sigh.

He needed to make certain that he went through with his plan. Wait. What was his plan going to be anyway? Young Jae hadn’t come up with a plan to get the money to Daehyun discretely, but could he help it? With the party coming up, his mother had been constantly asking him questions here and there about what he wanted. He would have just let his mother deal with the decorations, but she seemed to want his opinion on everything.

Now that he had the time though, Young Jae needed to come up with an idea as to how to get the money to Daehyun. He needed to make sure that it most definitely went into Daehyun’s hands and stayed there, at least until Daehyun started up college once more. Still.. it was most definitely much more difficult than it seemed.

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
