“Come on! Ease up!” (V)

“Oh, come on! Take it like a man! I’m going all out on you~” (JI)

“STOP! You’re being too rough!” (V)

“I’m not being rough enough! I won’t go easy on you!” (JI)

“GAH! You bastard!” (V) Taehyung mashed the remaining buttons before kicking the machine. As Jin won the round, he grinned as he leaned to the left to look at Taehyung on the other side. Taehyung merely glared at Jin before walking over to him and kicking him softly. “You’re a , you know that?” (V)

“So? I won! That’s all that matters.” (JI) Jin held his grin as he went on to fighting the A.I. for the next round. Taehyung rolled his eyes a bit before he stood next to Jin to watch. His eyes trailed down to Jin’s hands, watching, as his hands seemed to smash every button with little to no mercy. Though, it was much more than just smashing buttons. No… Jin clearly knew how to play the game and how to take full advantage of the combo’s it had to offer. It was both scary and… impressive.

“How did you learn how to play so well?” (V)

“Eh? Impressed? Did I win you over?” (JI) Jin chuckled a bit as he playfully nudged Taehyung with his elbow. Taehyung scoffed as he pushed Jin in response, but he had quickly turned his attention back to the screen. “I’ve been playing since I was a kid. My dad taught me everything.” (JI)

“Your dad…?” (V) Jin nodded before finishing up one round. With a grin, he looked at Taehyung again before nudging him once more. Taehyung merely rolled his eyes though before realizing that there were two people currently missing. Looking around for a moment, Taehyung silently cursed as he looked back at Jin. “Hey. Where’s Jongup and Baekhyun?” (V)

“Dunno. Probably looking around or playing something. Why?” (JI) Taehyung would’ve given a reason, but besides the truth, he didn’t exactly know what else to say. Noticing the slight pause that Taehyung gave, Jin briefly glanced over at Taehyung before nudging him once more. “Well?” (JI)

“Uh… no reason. I just wanted to know.” (V) Jin shrugged before pulling the majority of his attention back onto the game. Taehyung looked around once more, but he was certain that neither Jongup nor Baekhyun were here. How was he supposed to befriend Jongup if he wasn’t even here for him to befriend him?!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I think… that he’s been wanting this game for a while.” (BH) Baekhyun handed Jongup one of the many video game cases before he went back to looking. Jongup studied the case, but he was more or less trying to figure out Taehyung’s taste in video games as opposed to whether the game was fun or not. Of course, it may be partially due to the fact that he didn’t own a gaming console.

“Do you think he’ll accept it if I buy it for him?” (JU)

“Probably not. Maybe you should buy it for him when you actually have a reason to, like… uh… his birthday, or Christmas.” (BH) Jongup nodded as he put the game back onto the shelf. Baekhyun did have a point. It would be a waste if Taehyung rejected it now. If it was a present, then there was no way that Taehyung would reject it. “Hey. Let’s get food! I’m hungry.” (BH)

“Okay.” (JU)

“And don’t worry about it. I can pay for it.” (BH) As the two left the video game store, Jongup decided to do a bit of window-shopping while they made their way to the food court. No, he wasn’t looking for anything for Taehyung. Instead, he wanted to buy something for Daehyun. His birthday was still quite a while away, but Jongup still wanted to get him something for his birthday ahead of time. It was sort of like a mini thank you for all of the hard work he’s been doing. Later, when he was a successful architect, Jongup wanted to do something even more special for Daehyun and even Young Jae. After all, Young Jae helped them a lot by not only giving Daehyun a higher paid job, but by also letting them stay at his house for free. That definitely deserves a huge thanks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After having a nice chat with Hanbi and Tiffany, Daehyun had gone back to his room to continue studying. Instead of working on the review that he had promised Young Jae, he ended up getting lost within the textbook. Sure, he did some of his own studying here and there, but this was a book he hadn’t seen at the bookstore before. It made him a little jealous to know that there were books at the school not being sold at the bookstore, but it did make sense. Textbooks weren’t exactly something that the average person would just pick up.

Was it weird for someone to actually have fun while studying? Daehyun wasn’t adding anything into his study habits. Though, it was just a matter of a person’s own habits and what they liked. Well… of course, at least he was enjoying something that wasn’t hurting anyone.

As he continued to read, the sound of a knock at the door barely sounded through the room. With how engrossed he was and how quiet the knock was, Daehyun hadn’t even noticed the momentary disturbance. When the knock came a little louder though, that’s when Daehyun looked over at his bedroom door. “Ah…! Come in!” (DH)

The door opened before three servants came walking in. He stood up; a bit surprised to see them make their way over to his table and setting down three stacks of textbooks before leaving. As the last servant left the room, Young Jae soon entered the room before closing the door behind him. “Oh! Young Jae. You’re home already?” (DH)

“Yeah… um… I wanted to study and I just thought that you were uh… ready to tutor me.” (YJ) Daehyun rubbed the back of his head as he slowly moved the chair back towards the table. Technically, he could start teaching Young Jae now. He did have sticky notes pointing out to key areas. He had also taken some notes to make it easier for Young Jae to study on his own.

“Well, yeah. Sure. Just sit at the small table over there while I get it set up.” (DH)

“Okay.” (YJ) As Daehyun went to gather whatever was necessary, Young Jae walked over to the coffee table before kneeling down next to it. Okay, so he could have sat down on the couch, but then he’d feel too tall to use the coffee table for studying. Looking over at Daehyun, Young Jae couldn’t help but feel giddy about being allowed to enter Daehyun’s room for ‘studying’ purposes. Okay, so he still had to knock, but he would still have the chance to spend time with Daehyun.

“Do you have any assignments at the moment?” (DH)

“Huh? Oh… uh… yes…?” (YJ) Once he had everything gathered, Daehyun made his way over to the coffee table before setting it onto the table. Sitting on the couch, Daehyun let out a small relieved sigh before leaning forward. He set one of his elbows on his knees before he used his free hand to open a few of the books.

“Okay. I’ve written a few sticky notes and I’ve taken notes on some of the chapters. I want you to go through what I’ve written and do your homework. I’ll explain a few things here and there.” (DH) Young Jae stared at Daehyun for a moment before his gaze slowly drifted towards the books and papers. He was kind of hoping for Daehyun to do his homework for him… or to at least actually teach him this stuff. Instead, it felt like he was working with a partner and that he was now being forced to do all of the work himself.

“Is this really tutoring…?” (YJ)

“I have to see what you don’t understand before I start tutoring you. I’ll check your assignment when you’re done, circle the questions you got wrong, then go from there.” (DH) Young Jae mumbled something under his breath as he moved a little closer to the books. Daehyun raised a single brow as he leaned forward and lightly tapped Young Jae’s shoulder. “What was that?” (DH)

“Nothing… Mr. Jung…” (YJ) Daehyun chuckled a bit as he leaned back in his seat. It felt weird having anyone but little kids call him that. Though, it did make him feel important. Maybe if he didn’t already want to become a doctor, he could have instead become a teacher.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Does that make more sense now?” (DH) Young Jae nodded as he went to correcting his answer. Though, despite Daehyun's explanation, Young Jae accidentally began writing the wrong answer once more. Noticing this, Daehyun reached forward before taking the pencil out of his hand. “No. That’s the same answer you put before.” (DH)

“It was an accident…” (YJ) Young Jae took the pencil back from Daehyun before he adjusted himself a bit closer to Daehyun. Daehyun let out a small sigh as he shook his head a bit. He hoped that Young Jae was more careful with this; otherwise, mistakes like this would cost him points. “Oops.” (YJ)

Daehyun pulled himself from his thoughts as he noticed the pencil no longer in Young Jae’s hands. He looked around for a brief moment, wondering where it had gone off to, before his eyes widened the second he felt something touching his thigh. Looking down a bit, he saw Young Jae’s hand on his thigh before looking up at Young Jae, whom currently had a flushed face. “T-The uh… the pencil fell… between your legs.” (YJ)

“Uh… o-okay…?” (DH) Young Jae hesitated for a moment before taking the pencil and quickly pulling his hand away. Yes, he had planned to touch Daehyun’s thigh like this and he was having a mini victory party in his head, but he did wish that it had progressed from there. “A-Anyway… fix your answer and we’ll move to the next question.” (DH)

While Young Jae was busy with that, Daehyun unintentionally found himself staring at Young Jae’s smooth neck. Whether it was because of Young Jae touching his thigh or if his lust had decided to come out, Daehyun just didn’t understand why he was acting like this now.

Moving a little closer, Daehyun left just barely enough space for a finger between them before he looked at the answer Young Jae wrote. He attempted to swallow the lump in his throat before he leaned forward a bit, their bodies just barely touching, as he reached forward and pointed at the next question. “Now… that one.” (DH)

Young Jae looked at Daehyun, which in turn, caused Daehyun to look at him. Young Jae instantly looked away, biting his bottom lip as he began erasing his previous answer. When did Daehyun get so close? Now, he wasn’t complaining or anything, but Young Jae would like to know if he could potentially take advantage of the situation… not that he had such thoughts or anything.

“Your uh… skin’s so soft looking… How do you get it to look so um… soft…?” (DH) Young Jae turned a little red as he looked down to the side a bit. How was he supposed to respond to that? He didn’t know if he was supposed to take that as a compliment or not, but he was a little more focused on the fact that Daehyun was paying attention to his skin.

“I… have this uh… thing that I get. Do you… wanna try it for your skin…?” (YJ)

“Hm? Oh, uh… sure. But, uh… can I touch your skin to, uh… see how soft it is…?” (DH) Young Jae’s eyes widened as he turned his head away from Daehyun. He was mentally freaking out for some reason and he was really kicking himself for it. “S-Sorry…! I guess that was a little too invasive.” (DH)

“N-No! Go ahead! Touch me all you want, wherever you want!” (YJ) Young Jae quickly turned to Daehyun as he spoke, but the second he made eye contact after finishing his sentence, Young Jae’s eyes widened. What did he just say?! Did he just say what he thought he said!? His face was turning red, but he just couldn’t bring himself to looking away. He could even see the surprised look on Daehyun’s face, which only made things worse. “I, uh…” (YJ)

Realizing their current situation, Daehyun’s eyes widened before he attempted to get up. However, he ended up tripping over himself, thus falling forward and pushing Young Jae down in the process. The two groaned from the pain that they felt, but as Daehyun began to push himself up, he stopped for a moment as he found himself staring at Young Jae.

Daehyun was finding himself captivated by Young Jae’s soft gaze, getting lost within the brown orbs that seemed to hold all of his emotions. Daehyun knew that Young Jae had feelings for him and he had feelings for Young Jae, but… should he do something about it? Should he truly pursue the person he could potentially love despite the circumstances he was in? Would he be allowed this one freedom, this one goal, to obtain? “Young Jae… I…” (DH)

“What… is it…?” (YJ)

“Will you... pretend to… keep your promise to me for a just a few minutes...?” (DH) Young Jae looked a little confused as he adjusted his position a bit to get a little more comfortable.

“Promise…?” (YJ) Daehyun tilted his head downward a bit, trying to figure out a better way to explain himself. He didn’t want to confuse Young Jae anymore than he already has, so… maybe he shouldn’t pursue it. Maybe it would be better to just pretend like all of this didn’t happen. It would be the right thing to do, but… when was he going to ever get what he wanted? Couldn’t he be selfish just for this one moment?

Daehyun lifted his head a bit as he looked at Young Jae with a soft, yet determined, gaze. He didn’t truly know if Young Jae really would agree to this, but… he did know that he wanted to at least give this a shot. It would only be for a brief moment, right? If he could just at least feel what it was like to be married, then… he would truly be happy. “Will you… marry me… for a few minutes?” (DH)

“M-Marry…?” (YJ) Young Jae’s face turned a little red as he attempted to pull his gaze from Daehyun’s. However, for some reason, he couldn’t do that. It was almost as if Daehyun’s eyes were locking his own in place and it was becoming increasingly difficult to even think of the word no, let alone say it. How could he refuse the one person that he truly had feelings for? “How would we… do that?” (YJ)

They stared at one another for a moment, thoughts and emotions roaming around in their heads as they continued to remain in this position. When a thought finally crossed his mind, Daehyun moved his arm a bit before he hesitantly used the back of is fingers to slowly caress Young Jae’s cheek. Young Jae’s eyes widened, a bit surprised by Daehyun’s actions as Daehyun slowly began to lean in close.

This was it! This was the moment that he’s been waiting for! Young Jae had been hoping that they could have a real kiss and this just had to be it! Okay, so he hadn’t imagined being pinned down like this when this moment would come, but that was alright. Just a little closer, and…

A few knocks on the door instantly forced Daehyun to push himself away before rolling next to Young Jae. As the door began to open, Daehyun quickly sat up before looking at the person standing by the doorway. With a nervous smile, Daehyun quickly got up to his feet as he dusted himself off a bit. “Ah! What brings you here, Yongguk?” (DH)

“… Is Young Jae here? He has another seminar to attend.” (BY)

“Young Jae…? Ah, uh… he’s not here right now.” (DH) Yongguk narrowed his eyelids a moment, before nodding and leaving the room. Daehyun let out a relieved sigh as he turned and looked down at Young Jae, whom had just sat up. He was disappointed that things hadn’t gone the way he had hoped, but… maybe it was better this way. “I guess you have to go.” (DH)

“Yeah…” (YJ) Daehyun held out his hand as he held a small smile. Young Jae looked up at Daehyun for a moment before smiling in return and taking hold of Daehyun’s hand. After being helped up, Young Jae dusted himself off a bit before looking at Daehyun once more.

“I guess… you have to go.” (DH)

“Yeah…” (YJ) Despite having to go, Young Jae continued to stand there, waiting. Daehyun didn’t understand why he continued to stand there, but… it could have been possible that Young Jae was waiting for something to happen. Did he… really want that kiss still? Daehyun wanted to kiss him, he truly did, but… he wasn’t sure if he should anymore. “Um…” (YJ)

“Ah! Young Jae! There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” (TF) Both men turned to see Tiffany standing by the doorway. She had a bit of an embarrassed smile on her face as she bowed a bit. “I’m sorry. I would’ve knocked, but um… your door was already open.” (TF)

Tiffany pointed to Daehyun’s door, to which Yongguk had left completely wide open. Young Jae put on a nervous smile as he nodded. Daehyun was rather disappointed that he took too long, but it was alright. As Tiffany walked into the room, Daehyun turned around before kneeling and cleaning up the paperwork. Young Jae let out a small sigh as he met Tiffany about halfway. “So why were you looking for me?” (YJ)

“Your mom told me that she wants to plan a trip for spring break. She said that she wanted you to invite your friends.” (TF) Young Jae his chin a bit as he took a moment to think. Where had this sudden trip come from all of a sudden? There wasn’t anything being celebrated and if he was the one inviting people, then it had to be something related to him.

“What is it for?” (YJ)

“Uh… She didn’t say. She just said that we’re going skiing, but only if you can raise your grades.” (TF) Young Jae nodded a bit, realizing now why his mother was proposing this trip. Technically, it would be best not to invite anyone until he actually could raise his grades, which meant that he was going to have to study even harder than before. Of course, with Daehyun’s help, he would be able to do something like that. “She also said something about booking the entire hotel, so you can invite as many people as you want.” (TF)

“Wooah… The entire hotel? Does she really have that much money to spend?” (DH) Young Jae and Tiffany briefly looked at Daehyun before nodding. Daehyun was rather amazed by how much money people could have. He couldn’t even begin to imagine what he would do with that much money.

“Well… alright. I’ll try my best.” (YJ)

“Great! Do well!” (TF) Tiffany smiled brightly as she gave Young Jae a tight hug. Daehyun couldn’t help but stare, even after Tiffany let go and went off to do whatever it was she needed to do. He wanted to say or do something, but how was he supposed to react to that? Yes, it could have been just a simple friendly hug, but Tiffany and Young Jae are engaged. Whether it’s arranged or not doesn’t matter.

“Aren’t you… going to be late?” (DH) Young Jae barely turned to look at Daehyun before he looked back towards the doorway.

“Hm? Oh, uh… right. I… I guess I better get going then…” (YJ) Young Jae took a step forward, but paused for a moment before turning towards Daehyun. Daehyun looked up at Young Jae, a bit confused, as he got to his feet. Did… Young Jae really not care about his engagement to Tiffany? “Can I… still be your husband for a few minutes?” (YJ)

Daehyun held an embarrassed smile, keeping his head low a bit as he tried to think. He didn’t want to make it painfully obvious that he was overjoyed to hear Young Jae say that, but he also didn’t want to blow this chance. Taking in a deep breath, Daehyun nodded a bit as he held his pinky and thumb out. Young Jae stared at it for a moment before wrapping his pinky around Daehyun’s pinky and pressing their thumbs together. “I do.” (DH)

“Wha-…? O-Oh! Um… uh… I do too?” (YJ) Daehyun laughed a bit before stepping forward and softly pressing their lips together. It just happened so fast that Young Jae found himself staring with wide eyes. His mind was jumbled and his pinky’s grip seemed to tighten. However, when he managed to pull himself together, he couldn’t help but smile as he returned Daehyun’s kiss.

“Young Jae! Where the hell are you?!” (BY) Both men quickly took a step back upon hearing Yongguk’s voice from the hall. Daehyun held a large grin, unable to hold back any further as he turned Young Jae around and began lightly pushing him towards the doorway.

“You better get going.” (DH)

“Alright, alright! I just wanted to spend a few more minutes… with my husband.” (YJ) Young Jae chuckled a bit before quickly looking around the hallway. When the coast was definitely clear, he quickly turned around and wrapped is arms around the back of Daehyun’s neck before kissing him once more. Daehyun had just begun to wrap his arms around Young Jae’s waist when they heard Yongguk call out again. Pulling away, Young Jae quickly straightened his clothes out before smiling. “I, um… I better get going.” (YJ)

“Alright. I’ll see you later.” (DH) With a nod, Young Jae was off to find Yongguk before the bodyguard got anymore impatient. Daehyun chuckled a bit as he closed his door and made his way over to his bed. Lying on his back, Daehyun let out a sigh as he stared up at the ceiling.

Was that okay to do? Even if it were for that brief moment, would it turn out to have been a bad idea? He didn’t know and until the time comes, Daehyun would just have to remain confused about the situation. As long as no one found out and it didn’t go too deep, then… maybe it would be alright for it to happen just this once. He could never forgive himself if he ended up getting Young Jae into trouble.

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
