Standing behind the corner of the wall, Hyunki waited patiently for a certain someone to show up. For some reason, he was a little nervous. From adjusting his cuffs to adjusting his tie, Hyunki just couldn’t seem to stand completely still. He would even shift his weight from one foot to the next. It made no sense for him to be nervous, but in order to ensure that any sort of questioning went off without any sort of problems, then he had to make sure that there was no one else around when he went about to do so.

As he adjusted his tie for about the sixth time today, the sound of a knock soon drew his attention. Turning carefully, he leaned against the wall as he peaked his head out from behind the corner. One of the servants opened the door, revealing the very person he had been waiting for to show up. Hyunki watched carefully as the person in question listened to what the servant had to say before nodding and making his way into the den.

Once the person had disappeared within the den, Hyunki quietly cleared his throat before moving away from the wall. As he made his way towards the den, Hyunki gave a brief nod to the servant along the way. He had told the servant earlier to direct the person in question towards the den and it seemed that he was able to do the task at hand. So, all that remained now was to question the boy about where those missing kids were.

Stepping into the den, his eyes roamed around for a brief moment before spotting the back of the man’s head. Quietly, Hyunki closed and locked the doors behind him, causing the man to quickly sit up before turning towards him. “Good day, Taehyung. I have a few questions that you must answer.” (HK)

Taehyung remained silent as he stared at Hyunki. Although he seemed to be relatively calm on the outside, his mind was in turmoil at the moment. He didn’t know how he was supposed to react to this situation and in a way, he probably should’ve seen this coming. However, maybe it would be alright to inform Hyunki and Hanbi about the current situation. After all, they were the only ones who would be able to keep his friends safe. Though… was this the right choice? Would they truly be able to keep his friends safe from Kyungsoo? Well… there was only one way to find out.

“… What can I help you with?” (V)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“So… why am I blindfolded again?” (DH)

“Uh… It’s a surprise! Just wait a little longer.” (YJ) A few days had passed since he had this idea to have a surprise hang out and one way or another, Young Jae had managed to get those closest to Daehyun to come out to help him take his mind off of things for the moment. Since he wanted to surprise Daehyun, Young Jae had managed to get him to wear a blindfold while they waited for everyone to arrive. Of course, Daehyun’s curiosity was a force to reckon with.

“How much longer? I'm uh... I'm starting to feel uncomfortable…” (DH) Young Jae almost slapped his forehead for forgetting about Daehyun’s fear of the dark, but he didn’t want to show that he had forgotten about that little detail. As long as Daehyun didn’t have a breakdown, then it should be alright for a little longer.

“Just a little longer.” (YJ)

“… You’re not setting me up for something… right? Like, you’re not gonna prank me or anything… right?” (DH) Young Jae rubbed the back of his head as he slid down into his seat across from Daehyun. Why did Daehyun think he would do something like that? Sure, it would’ve been a little funny, but when anyone was going through something serious, it probably wouldn’t be the best idea.

“I promise. It’s not a prank.” (YJ) Young Jae waited for a reply, but Daehyun didn’t say anything. With a quiet sigh, Young Jae lifted his arm before looking at his watch. They were about fifteen minutes earlier than their intended meeting, so they didn’t have to worry about anyone showing up and not being able to be seated. However, being here this early probably wasn’t a good idea since Daehyun was being forced to wear the blindfold.

As he began getting lost in his thoughts, Young Jae noticed Daehyun moving a bit. He thought that Daehyun was uncomfortable or needed something, but he was simply adjusting his position. Since Daehyun was currently wearing a blindfold, Young Jae couldn’t help but closely examine Daehyun’s features and his outfit.

Daehyun was currently wearing a black v-neck t-shirt, which seemed to show off Daehyun’s body rather well. He had originally been wearing a dark maroon leather jacket, but since it wasn’t all that cold inside, he had taken it off. Besides that, he was wearing black skinny jeans as well as black and white converse shoes. His hair was still pink, oddly enough. Young Jae didn’t ever recall seeing Daehyun with any other color, but Daehyun must have really liked that color.

As he continued to stare at Daehyun, his eyes somehow managed to drift down to a certain no-no place. For some reason, Young Jae couldn’t help but try to see past Daehyun’s folded hands. Biting his bottom lip, Young Jae carefully got up from his seat before quietly making his way over to Daehyun.

This was most definitely not the best idea he’s ever had. In fact, this was probably against everything he thought he’d ever do. They haven’t even dated and already he was lusting after Daehyun like a well cooked piece of meat?! It was the last thing he should be doing, but for whatever reason, his body seemed to continue moving forward.

Getting down to his knees, Young Jae quickly looked around. Since they were in one of the private rooms at the restaurant, he didn’t have to worry about being interrupted. If they don’t press the button that called the servers, then there was no way for any of the servers to come and check up on them. So… until their friends showed up, they were completely alone. Would that be enough time?

Wait. Enough time for what?! Why was he even thinking about this?! Was he even really going to go through with this?! Would Daehyun even let him go through with this?! It would be embarrassing and very awkward if Daehyun was completely against it. It would be ten times worse if any of their friends walked in on them while anything was happening! How did he even end up on his knees with little to no hesitation?!

Taking in a deep breath, Young Jae somehow decided to go through with it. They’ve already kissed, so… it should be alright. Okay, so it doesn’t work that way, especially since he’s engaged, BUT… this may be his only chance. If he can’t convince his parents to cancel the wedding, then he could at least sleep with Daehyun… right? That sounded bad, but Young Jae seemed to somehow accept it as an acceptable answer.

Slowly and as carefully as possible, Young Jae reached forward. His eyes flickered up towards Daehyun every now and then, but Daehyun wasn’t going to be able to see anything with the blindfold on. Swallowing the lump in his throat, Young Jae looked back down at Daehyun’s crotch before somehow successfully placing his hand on it. In that instant, Daehyun sat up, taking a hold of Young Jae’s hand before reaching up with his free hand. Before Daehyun could take his blindfold off though, Young Jae quickly blurted his words out loud. “WAIT! STOP! DON’T TAKE IT OFF!” (YJ)

“Wha… Young Jae? What are you doing?” (DH)

“I, um… uh…” (YJ) What did he expect to say in a situation like this? Did he even expect Daehyun to just accept a… bit of a good time from him? They probably only had five, maybe ten minutes at most before at least one of their friends showed up. Would Daehyun even finish in that time frame?! “Uh… T-There was a bug and I was trying to get it off!” (YJ)

“… Really?” (DH)

“Yeah! It got away though and uh… I ended up grabbing you by accident!” (YJ) Young Jae hoped that Daehyun would fall for his excuse. Daehyun was blind folded, so Young Jae really could be telling the truth. Okay, so he sounded a little panicked when explaining, but it was rather hard not to be panicked when one ‘accidentally’ grabs another person’s crotch.

“Then, uh… why were you trying to grab the bug?” (DH)

“Uh…” (YJ) That was probably a very good question. Most people would try to swat the bug away, but instead, Young Jae had tried to grab it? How was he going to explain that? Answers upon answers seem to appear, but it was hard to choose the best answer for this situation. Letting out a small sigh, Young Jae lowered his head as his hand balled into a fist. “I… lied. I um… I was trying to touch you there on purpose…” (YJ)

“… Why?” (DH)

“Uh… I… wanted… to make you feel… nice…?” (YJ)

“Make me… feel… nice…” (DH) The way Daehyun said it made Young Jae continue regretting his decision. How was he supposed to make Daehyun feel nice when he was engaged?! He knew Daehyun was already hesitant about everything since he was engaged, so what made him think that it was okay for him to do something like that?! “T-That’s uh… nice and all… but…” (DH)

Just as it seemed like his hand was going to stay where it was, Young Jae felt his hand suddenly (and finally) jerked away from Daehyun’s crotch. Getting to his feet, Young Jae removed his hand from Daehyun’s grasp before sitting down next to Daehyun. “You want me to cancel my engagement with Tiffany first… right?” (YJ)

“… Yeah… I do. I can’t do things behind their back… and I know you don’t want to either.” (DH) Daehyun felt around for a moment before he found Young Jae’s thigh. He attempted to find Young Jae’s hand, which Young Jae was able to notice before quickly placing his hand in Daehyun’s path. Once Daehyun found what he was looking for, he pulled it over onto his own lap before wrapping it with both of his hands. “I… really do like you, Young Jae… but I… I can’t think about this right now. While Jongup and everyone else are missing, it’s… hard to think straight. If… you do somehow cancel your marriage, then… I’ll go on a date with you. No ifs ands or buts. Okay…?” (DH)

“Date… Okay. I’ll try and figure out how to do it.” (YJ) Daehyun smiled as he slowly raised his right hand up. It took him a moment, but when he was able to find Young Jae’s head, he ruffled his hair up a bit before playfully pushing Young Jae over the couch.

“Thanks, Young Jae.” (DH) Young Jae held a smile as he pushed himself up. Seeing and hearing Daehyun happy must have meant that he was doing good. However, the main problem now was trying to figure out how to convince Tiffany and both of his parents to cancel his marriage. His father wouldn’t even let him become a painter, so how did he expect his father to let him date a male? This marriage was for business purposes and unless his father and Tiffany’s father sees things through his eyes, there was no way that he would succeed. Then, there was the fact that he was going to have to explain everything to Tiffany. What was he going to say to her?

Psst!” (TF) Young Jae jumped a bit as his gaze instantly shot over towards the door. There, standing with the door slightly open, was Tiffany, Hyosung, Woohyun, Seohyun, Himchan, Yongguk and Sunny all staring at them. Most of them had goofy grins on their faces, which meant that… “Come over here!” (TF)

“Is someone there, Young Jae?” (DH)

“Um… uh… y-yeah! It’s uh… It’s the uh… one of the server’s! I’ll uh… go see what the problem is. You just uh… stay here and DON’T take off your blindfold!” (YJ) Quickly slipping his hand from Daehyun’s grasp, Young Jae made his way out of the room before closing the door behind him. In that instant, he was grabbed and pulled off to the side a bit before surrounded by practically everyone there. Now that he noticed it, even Sungyeol and Taeyeon were here. “What’s going on? How long have you guys been standing there?” (YJ)

“Long enough! Now spill. What’s this thing you have between Daehyun?! I want ALL of the juicy details!” (HS) He’s been caught red handed and there was no way that he would be able to cover up any of this. Still, he was glad that Daehyun didn’t let him go through with it. It would have been VERY awkward if they had seen that happening. Though… he was still curious as to when they started listening in on them.

“Uh…” (YJ) After explaining everything, the majority of the people who knew about their childhood relationship nodded in understanding. Some of them remained quiet on the topic, but the one’s who looked both touched and surprised were Tiffany and Hyosung, who were probably the only ones who didn’t know anything about the promises they made. Okay, so most of everyone else didn’t know about the promises either, but they at least understood the relationship.

“Young Jae! Why didn’t you say anything sooner? That’s so… touching!” (TF) Tiffany slapped Young Jae’s arm a few times before pretending to use a handkerchief to dab away at the fake tears she had. Okay, so she wasn’t tearing up, but she couldn’t help but find it cute that they still had feelings for one another after all these years. “So… You want to cancel the engagement, right? I can help.” (TF)

“Wha-… Are you sure?” (YJ)

“Of course! Did you think I wanted to this arranged marriage? We just have to figure out how to get our parents to see that we don’t want this.” (TF) They all stood there in silence. Most of them were waiting for someone to say something, but that wasn’t happening just yet. It took another few moments of awkward silence before someone finally said something.

“Young Jae? Where are you? Can I take the blindfold off yet?” (DH) Everyone turned around to see Daehyun’s head sticking out from the doorway. He was still wearing the blindfold and despite the fact that he was turning his head here and there, he wasn’t going to be able to see anything. Hearing, however, would be a different story if they got caught out here.

“H-Hold on! Don’t take off your blindfold!” (YJ) Young Jae carefully pushed past the group before motioning them to follow after him. Placing his hands on Daehyun’s shoulders, he turned the man around before leading him back over to the couch. Daehyun could hear the slight movements here and there, which, in itself, was starting to make him feel a bit nervous. However, once he felt himself safely sitting on the couch once more, Daehyun waited as he tried to look through the blindfold itself. “Okay… Almost ready. Don’t peek yet!” (YJ)

“Okay…” (DH) What was he preparing? If he had gone to speak with one of the servants, then maybe Young Jae had ordered a plethora of food! He made certain not to show his excitement, but his body internally was just about ready to explode! His right leg began shaking out of impatience, to which Daehyun tried his best to contain it. “How about now?” (DH)

“Uh… okay! You can take your blindfold off now.” (YJ) Daehyun wasn’t sure if what he was imagining was true, so he made certain not to get his hopes up too high. Slowly, he reached up before taking hold of the blindfold from behind and undoing the tie. As he pulled the blindfold away, the light forced him to almost close his eyes, but he peered through the small slit, allowing him to not only hear, but see the group of people all in front of him.

SURPRISE!” (Everyone not Daehyun) A smile graced his lips as Daehyun found himself forcing his eyes open a little more just so that he could see the surprise much more clearly. The surprise may not have been a large banquet for him, but his friends were a much better surprise.

“Wow… I… I don’t know what to say.” (DH)

“Don’t worry, Daehyun. We’re here to hang out, so let’s have a good time, yeah?” (SH) Everyone nodded in agreement as Young Jae made his way over to the button by the door. Once everyone was seated, conversations of sorts erupted from small pockets of people. Daehyun remained quiet as he listened to everyone talking, a smile never leaving his face. For some reason, just being around his friends seemed to be enough to take all of his worries away.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“That’s all I know.” (V)

“… I see.” (HK) Hyunki leaned back in his seat as he held his chin with his thumb and index finger. If what Taehyung said was true, then this truly was a problematic situation that he was in. No matter how much planning is placed into saving those boys, there was no avoiding the potential outcome of what may happen when the madam and her husband hear about this.

“… Can you save them? Can you keep them safe?” (V)

“I’m certain the madam will have her plans.” (HK) Taehyung wasn’t really sure if that was a good enough answer, but if he knew anything, Kyungsoo couldn’t do anything against his own mother. Even if Kyungsoo hated his mom, Hanbi had the power over him. Yes, Kyungsoo’s father also had power, but everyone knew by now that Hanbi was someone he would always listen to. “I will have to tell the madam immediately. Until then… don’t draw attention to yourself.” (HK)

“Alright.” (V) Taehyung watched as Hyunki got to his feet before straightening out his clothes. Once Hyunki gave a small bow, the older man made his way out of the room, leaving Taehyung alone in the den. With a small sigh, Taehyun slouched in his seat, his eyes staring blankly ahead of him. “Easier said than done…” (V)

If word got out that Hyunki had questioned him, then it may end up giving away everything. Sure, Kyungsoo wouldn’t know where they were hidden, but there was a strong possibility that Kyungsoo would figure out that Taehyung had something to do with it. What should he say? What should he do? He needed to prepare, but for now, he had to go to Kyungsoo. After all… he did have to check in for work.

Getting up from his seat, Taehyung dusted himself off before turning around. He immediately froze in his place as he found himself staring at the man he was about to check in with. They stood there, a stiff silence between them as silent communication made its way through their eye contact. When it was clear that Kyungsoo hadn’t found something, Kyungsoo adjusted his position a bit as he loosened his tie slightly. “… Why are you here?” (DO)

“I… had some things on my mind I wanted to sort out.” (V)

“Like what?” (DO) Taehyung didn’t like where this was going. His mind was blanking, so what was he supposed to say? Yes, it wasn’t Kyungsoo’s business to know what was on Taehyun’g’s mind, but he couldn’t just ignore the question either. It may end up pissing the man off and that was the last thing he wanted to do if he was trying to survive this predicament that he was in.

“Well… Baekhyun’s missing. I’m… trying to figure out where to look next. My aunt’s been asking me to look.” (V) Taehyung could see the pain just briefly flash across Kyungsoo’s face. Did Kyungsoo actually… care for Baekyhun’s safety? Did he really have feelings for the man? Of course, he didn’t really have any way to find out since Kyungsoo would simply deny it.

“Fine. Go look. What are you waiting for? Just… make sure to also give me the information you find.” (DO) Without another word spoken, Kyungsoo turned and simply walked away. Taehyung waited for a moment, waiting until Kyungsoo was out of earshot before he let out a relieved sigh. It seemed like Kyungsoo didn’t suspect a thing, but he couldn’t let his guard down for even a moment. As long as he did his job and continued to make it seem believable, then he shouldn’t have to worry too much about Kyungsoo finding out.

Running his hand through his hair, Taehyung let out a heavy sigh before he began walking. He needed to find information that was solid and believable, but he also needed to make sure that everything he used wouldn’t give away the location of his friends. Though… now that he thought about it, how did Hyunki find out that he was related to the disappearance of his friends?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The group had fun with their get together, catching up with one another while eating delicious food. Sure, there could have been a few more people present, but it was good enough for them to truly enjoy their time together. Young Jae couldn’t help but smile constantly as he unintentionally watched Daehyun having a good time. Being surrounded by good friends really raised Daehyun’s spirits and he was glad that he had decided to arrange this little hang out.

Getting up from his seat, Young Jae made his way out of the room. Once he was in the hallway, he looked around for a brief moment before pulling out his phone. Just as he began scrolling through his contacts, a brief tap on his shoulder caused him to quickly put his phone behind his back while he turned to see who was trying to get his attention. “Hey. I think I have an idea to cancel the wedding.” (TF)

“Really? What’s your idea?” (YJ)

“We tell them the truth!” (TF) Young Jae opened his mouth to say something, but not a single word seemed to want to come out. Sure, it was probably the most straightforward idea currently available, but if he just came out and told his parents that he didn’t want to go through with the marriage because he wanted to date a male wasn’t exactly the best thing to say… at least, not all at once. Noticing his reaction, Tiffany smiled as she took a few steps in a random direction. “Ooor… we get our parents to find a way to do business without involving us. I mean, that’s the only reason they’re arranging this marriage, right?” (TF)

“Y-Yeah… So then… how do we do that?” (YJ) Tiffany folded her arms before leaning on one leg. Okay, so she didn’t exactly have everything planned out, but at least she had started on something. It seemed like Young Jae didn’t even have any sort of plans to begin with, so it felt like she was already a step farther than him for the time being.

“Well, we get our mom’s involved. I know my dad will understand, but I don’t know about yours.” (TF) Young Jae nodded a bit as he leaned against the nearby wall. Tiffany’s parents both wanted what was best for her, but they also usually asked her if she was okay with the decisions that they made. However, with Young Jae’s case, it was more or less his mom whom cared about what he wanted as opposed to his dad. So… maybe Tiffany’s idea was probably best. Though… would his mom be understanding about it as well?

“Hey! Are you two talking about stuff without me?” (HS) The two turned their heads to see Hyosung now standing in front of the door with her hands on her hips. She seemed to be rather determined to be part of their conversation, which is understandable with her kind of personality.

“Maybe.” (YJ)

“No maybe’s! I want in. I’ll do what it takes to help you guys.” (HS) Young Jae wondered why Hyosung was so adamant to help them. After all, she wasn’t really benefiting from aiding them in any sort of way, but who knows? Maybe she just wanted to help Tiffany out since they’re close friends. Actually, that was most likely the answer. He didn’t know why he thought Hyosung would need some sort of ulterior motive to help one of her closest friends.

“Okay! Well, here’s what we have so far…” (TF)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[[ My Own Thoughts:

Things are starting to get put into motion *-*
Of course, let’s just hope that no one saw what Young Jae was going to try…
That would make the situation much more awkward.
But I guess technically, I’m the only one who knows!

Anywho ~

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
