It seemed like a scene straight out of a storybook, but for some people, this was everyday life. A large mansion to decorate the background, flowers of all kinds laid out in an aesthetically pleasing manner in front of them, a round stone table that held four similar stone chairs, and a fountain in the middle of the garden all seemed too good to be true. How was it even remotely possible for anyone to be able to create a lovely scene that seemed to be meant for movies?

Of course, no matter how many times he sees it, it will always be breathtaking. This backyard of his will always look lovely, especially during the springtime when the flowers were in bloom. One way or another, it was just a place where he could find some sort of tranquility.

Sitting on one of the chairs, Young Jae took a sip of his tea as he looked out at the garden. Spending some time with his mother was always a pleasant moment and being able to talk about anything with her was always the best in his opinion. Of course, there were always complicated topics that just couldn’t be discussed between him and his mother, but he did hope to at least get one thing done. What may that be? Well… he hasn’t asked his mother if it was alright for Daehyun and Jongup to live with them.

Yes, he has yet to get that finished despite already giving Daehyun the okay to move in with them. As long as he got his mother’s permission, then he didn’t have to worry about asking his father about it. That meant that he had to step up and ask now if he was going to be able to get that permission. He did have a few days to get the permission, but it was better to get it over with now as opposed to later. “Hm… What do you think about this kind of dress for Tiffany? I think she would look beautiful with sequins paired with this pattern.” (MY)

Hanbi held the sketchpad out for Young Jae to see. He leaned in a little, looking at the intricate design before giving a nod. He didn’t really care all that much for women’s clothes, so it didn’t really matter to him how the design for Tiffany’s wedding dress ended up looking like. After all, it was Tiffany’s dress. Her opinion mattered much more than his own. “I think it’s pretty, but you should just ask her about it. I’m not the one wearing it.” (YJ)

“Oh…! Right, right. But it doesn’t hurt to have a second opinion before it passes to her.” (MY) Well, it did make sense at least. Then again, Young Jae was the worst person to ask for something like this. As long as it wasn’t outright ugly, which would almost never be the case from his mother’s designs, Young Jae would usually think that it was okay looking. “Can you pass the cookies, dear?” (MY)

“Alright.” (YJ) Despite the fact that the table wasn’t that big, Young Jae already knew that his mother didn’t like reaching over the table. It made her feel impolite, so she usually only reached over the table if she was handing someone else something. Picking up the plate of cookies, he held the plate out to his mother, whom took the plate with thanks. Sitting back in his seat, Young Jae wondered if now would be the perfect time to ask her. She was currently in a good mood and there were plenty of empty guest rooms, so it wouldn’t be a problem… right?

“You know, dear. This wedding will be fabulous! You two will look so nice up there at the altar.” (MY) Young Jae nodded, though he wasn’t as happy or excited as his mother was. He probably could have given a better response, but after meeting up with Daehyun again, it didn’t look like a good trade anymore.

“Y-Yeah… Anyway, mother. I have a request to ask of you.” (YJ) Hanbi looked up at Young Jae, a single brow raised as she lifted her cup. Holding the cup in both hands, she thought for a brief moment before nodding, showing that she would listen to his request. “I… have this friend who’s having some… trouble… and I was wondering if it would be alright for him and his brother to live here with us.” (YJ)

At least, he thought Jongup was his brother. He hadn’t asked them about it at all, so it didn’t cross his mind too much on whether they were brothers or not. Then again, he couldn't even remember if he had asked them about it back at the Orphanage. Either way, Young Jae could see his mother thinking hard on the question. Would she accept his request or would she deny it? Young Jae was quite nervous with the outcome of this, especially since he would have to be the one to tell Daehyun and Jongup the news if she did end up denying his request. Luckily, it seemed like it wouldn’t come to that. “Alright. They can stay. Who is this friend of yours?” (MY)

“It’s Daehyun and his brother Jongup. They were here at the party last week.” (YJ) Hanbi’s face seemed to light up at the mention of Daehyun. Young Jae didn’t necessarily understand why his mother seemed to be fond of Daehyun, but at least he didn’t have to worry about his mother disliking him.

“He’s having trouble? He’s such a lovely young man though. What’s troubling him?” (MY) Young Jae thought for a moment, not necessarily certain if it would be alright to tell her. After all, it was Daehyun’s personal business and he didn’t think it would be alright to just tell anyone about what was going on. However, since it was his mother, Young Jae couldn’t help but feel like it would be best to tell her. After all, she could potentially end up in danger because of this.

“Well… there’s someone out there that managed to get Daehyun not only fired from both his jobs, but… he also ended up getting kicked out of his apartment. He only has about a small amount of time to move so… that’s why I’m asking.” (YJ) Hanbi slowly nodded as she leaned back in her seat. Setting her elbows on the armrests of the chair, she folded her hands as she seemed to be deep in thought. Young Jae always wondered what she thought about whenever she did this, but it normally didn’t last that long anyway.

“Hyunki? I need you to do some snooping.” (MY) Hyunki had been standing close by the entire time, but with how quiet he had been, it was relatively easy to forget that he was even there. Walking up to the table, Hyunki held his hand up to his chest before bowing a bit.

“What may that be, madam?” (HK)

“I need you to find out who may be doing such dreadful things to such a nice boy. I would also like for you to give word to my husband about Daehyun’s stay. I wouldn’t want him to be surprised to see a stranger in his house.” (MY) Hyunki bowed once more before he walked off to complete the tasks given to him. Hanbi smiled with content as she sat up once more. Picking up one of the cookies, she took a bite of it before setting it onto her own plate. “Young Jae. Are you going to decorate your friend’s rooms? The guest rooms are all so dreadfully similar to one another.” (MY)

“Oh… Should I? I don’t really know what he would like though.” (YJ) Hanbi pursed her lips a bit as she delicately wiped her fingers with her napkin. Once she had wiped her lips, Hanbi’s eyes seemed to sparkle a little bit as she looked at Young Jae. Young Jae didn’t necessarily like that look that she had. It normally meant that she was about to go on another decorating spree and he wasn’t necessarily certain if that was a good thing or not.

“Oh, I have the perfect idea! Your friend has such delightful taste in fashion, so I think it will be perfect. As for his brother though… Oh, dear me. I don’t believe I remember him well. What kind of boy is his brother?” (MY) Young Jae thought for a moment, but now that he recalled, he hasn’t had much time to interact with Jongup. He didn’t really know what Jongup was like, so he couldn’t exactly describe him all that well. He could only guess, but it most likely wouldn’t be accurate.

“I… think he’s into sports…? I know he likes animals and flowers… but that was back when I used to live with him in the orphanage.” (YJ) Hanbi already had an idea of how to decorate Jongup’s bedroom just based off of the animals and flowers. After all, who doesn’t like a forest themed bedroom? With the bedroom ideas in her head, Hanbi was certain that she had the perfect designs in mind.

While she was still deep in her thoughts, Young Jae smiled as he leaned back in his seat. He was glad that his mother was able to give him permission for Daehyun to stay here, but was it a good idea? They both knew that they liked one another and who knows what may end up happening between them? Young Jae was a little worried about something possibly progressing past friends, but… he couldn’t just sit by and watch Daehyun and Jongup suffering.

Young Jae was just going to have to keep his actions in check.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Daehyun hummed to himself as he stirred the food within the pot. He was trying out new dishes, considering the fact that he was now a personal chef. Learning new dishes was always interesting and it would at least allow him to have a wider array of food to prepare. After all, he didn’t know what Young Jae’s tastes were or if he was even allergic to anything. Might as well prepare now instead of regretting it later on.

So far, it seemed to be turning out good. The smell that the dish was emanating was definitely making his stomach rumble and he really couldn’t wait to try it out. Of course, he would have to wait until Jongup got home. Being able to share a meal with family was always something delightful as opposed to eating alone. Though… that didn’t mean he couldn’t sneak a small taste.

Looking around for a moment, Daehyun made certain that no one was around before raising the ladle. Well, it was obvious that he was home alone, but for whatever reason, he felt like being a sneaky thief today. Why? Well, it’s been a while since he’s had some fun and pretending to be a thief just seemed like a fun game to play. Who knows? One of these days, he might end up touching on his imagination once more.

Carefully, he blew into the soup that was safely held within the ladle. Just because he was trying to sneak a taste doesn’t mean he had to throw caution into the wind. Burning his tongue would end up affecting his ability to taste food and since his next job required his sense of taste, he needed to be careful. Though… why was he trying to be sneaky anyway? It wouldn’t be the first time that he’s tasted his own cooking and it definitely wouldn’t be the last.

Well, it doesn’t matter. It made him feel either like a thief or a secret agent and in a way, he kind of wanted to just sneak around the apartment now, shooting invisible bullets at his enemies. Maybe Jongup and Young Jae would be up to a little role-playing once they moved. It would be pretty fun with more than just two people playing.

Bringing the ladle up to his lips, he tilted his head back a bit as he drank the soup base. Daehyun couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction as he finished drinking, smacking his lips with content as he went back to stirring the soup. This was definitely a good recipe, so he made certain to make a mental note of storing this recipe into his recipe book. All he needed to do now was figure out a few dessert recipes and he would be good to go for the time being.

While he was busy cooking, Jongup was just now walking up to the apartment. He was running a few things in his head, trying to make sense of the lectures that he had gone through earlier today. It wasn’t necessarily all that difficult really, but he just wanted to make sure that he understood everything. The tests were coming up and he didn’t want to end up being left behind, especially with this semester being his last.

Pulling out his keys, Jongup looked down for a moment before he began unlocking the apartment door. He probably would have entered already, but he had found himself pausing as he heard the sound of cooking from inside. Normally, Daehyun should be at work right now, so the sound of cooking greatly confused Jongup. Of course, it had to be Daehyun in there, right? If it wasn’t, then why would someone break into their apartment and cook?

Pushing the door open, Jongup peeked his head inside before stepping inside. Peeking through the window, he stared at Daehyun out of confusion as he slowly changed out of his shoes and into his slippers. Once that was done, He stepped through the inner doorway before shuffling his way over to the kitchen. “Daehyun? Why are you home already?” (JU)

Daehyun briefly turned around to look at Jongup before grinning as he turned his attention back to the soup before stirring a bit. Once he was certain that it would be alright, he lowered the flame a bit before walking up to the island counter and putting his hands against the edge of the counter. “Jongup! Great, you’re home. I have a bit of news for you.” (DH)

“Uh… okay? What is it?” (JU)

“We’re moving! Can you do some packing while I finish cooking?” (DH) Jongup stared at Daehyun for a moment before his eyes widened. Moving?! Why were they moving and where were they moving too?! Did that mean that he had to live on campus if they moved too far? Jongup wasn’t exactly certain if he was ready to live on his own yet. Was this about the toy incident? Was that it because if it was, then Jongup would stop using it!

“Is it because I used your toy thing? I can stop using it if you want! I mean… I clean it up and everything!” (JU) Daehyun had a surprised look on his face as slight laughter escaped from him. He really hadn’t expected Jongup to act like this and it made no sense as to how Jongup came to that conclusion so quickly. Was he feeling guilty about it?

“No, it’s not about that! I got a new job with Young Jae and we’re moving into his place.” (DH) A new job? Did that mean that Daehyun now had three jobs, but if that were the case, then wouldn’t staying here be fine as well? Jongup didn’t necessarily understand, but he was glad that they weren’t moving too far away from his school. “So can you do some packing?” (DH)

“Um… Yeah. Okay, but what about your other jobs?” (JU) Daehyun looked down for a moment as he tried to think. He couldn’t tell Jongup the truth, at least, not yet anyway. When Jongup was done for the semester, then he would tell Jongup. Until then, he would have to avoid telling Jongup the truth for the time being.

“I, uh… I gave them notice, so they’re looking for replacements while I finish up the rest of the week.” (DH) Jongup nodded, though he wondered if exchanging two jobs for one was a good idea. Still, he decided not to question it. With a small shrug, Jongup tossed his backpack onto the couch before he made his way over to one of the boxes that seemed to already be half packed.

While Jongup did that, Daehyun turned his attention back to the food on the stove. He was rather glad that they had the option to leave the furniture here. They had opted to get an apartment that was already furnished, so that meant that they didn’t have too much to pack. Daehyun did wonder if their rooms would already be furnished or if they had to bring their own furniture. Now that he thought about it, would they even be given separate rooms or would they have to share one? Daehyun didn’t really mind sharing one since he’s had to share a room back at the Orphanage, but it would be a little more awkward to share one with Jongup. Hopefully Jongup would be alright with that.

It wasn’t really a problem anyway. They would just have to find out later when they actually moved in. For now, they would just have to keep their attention on packing everything that they owned. Hopefully they didn’t end up leaving anything behind. With the fact that they’re leaving furniture behind, it would be easy to leave something important here as well.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few days have passed and to his surprise, Young Jae’s mother had already completed the furnishing for both rooms. Young Jae had managed to get the biggest guest rooms for both Daehyun and Jongup, so hopefully they woudn’t have to worry about using some sort of storage to place their things. Of course, he did hear from Daehyun that they weren’t bringing any furniture, so this room should definitely be big enough for Daehyun and Jongup to store their things.

Would they like it though? Although he hadn’t been the one to decorate the rooms, Young Jae knew how hard his mother had worked to make the rooms as beautiful as possible. Okay, so she had fun with decorating the rooms as well, but Young Jae knew that it wasn’t easy to fully determine whether some things would work well with other things without actually testing it first.

Looking at the bed, Young Jae raised a single brow before walking over towards it. Biting his bottom lip, he looked around for a brief moment before sliding onto the bed and lying on his stomach. With a satisfied smile, Young Jae looked to his right as he laid there, wishing all of his worries to just fly out the window. Having Daehyun living in the same house as him was almost like a miracle, but he also knew that he couldn’t exactly act upon it. With his engagement, Young Jae knew that there was little to no hope between him and Daehyun. It would be nice though to… see what it was like to lay with another man. Okay, so he hasn’t slept with anyone before, but he wanted his first time to be with Daehyun.

Guess that wasn’t coming true.

It was best to just put on a strong front and continue moving forward. Yes, he had come to the conclusion that he, indeed, did have feelings for Daehyun, but… he knew that those feelings had to be ignored from now on. He had an important task set in front of him and from what he can tell, there was just no going back. It , but what else could he do about it?

As he laid there, the door to the guestroom begun to open. Being lost in his thoughts, Young Jae hadn’t noticed someone stepping into the room. When that person’s eyes landed on Young Jae, he couldn’t help but smirk as he walked up to Young Jae before nudging his foot. From the sudden movement, Young Jae had jumped and rolled onto his back before sitting up. Seeing Yongguk’s quietly chuckling face, Young Jae furrowed his eyebrows a bit as he let out a relieved sigh. “Damn… You scared me. What is it?” (YJ)

“Just checking in to see what needed to be done.” (BY) Young Jae fell back down onto the bed as he stared up at the ceiling. What, exactly, needed to be done anyway? From what he could tell, everything was already set. There wasn’t really much else that needed to be done, but… maybe there was something that Yongguk could do for him. Oh! Now that he recalled, Young Jae needed someone to tell the movers where they were supposed to go. Propping himself back up with his elbows, Young Jae looked at Yongguk, whom was still standing there patiently.

“Can you tell the movers what to do when they get here? I still have some… things I need to take care of before I talk to Daehyun face-to-face.” (YJ) Yongguk raised a single brow, an amused smirk on his face as he folded his arms. He couldn’t help but feel a little suspicious about what these things may be.

“Things…?” (BY)

“Yes… things. I… uh… have to study for my final.” (YJ)

“Uh-huh… Right…” (BY) Yongguk smirked as he shook his head a bit before he turned and left the room. Young Jae narrowed his eyelids a bit before turning back onto his stomach and lying down. Why was Yongguk asking questions like that? Did he suspect him of something? Okay, yes, he was lying down on Daehyun’s bed, but that didn’t mean anything! He could of simply… been very tired. Okay, so it was eleven in the morning and a Saturday, but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t be tired from earlier tasks!

Okay, so he just wanted to continue lying in Daehyun’s bed. Sure, Daehyun has yet to sleep in it, but… he felt like being creepy at that very moment and pretending Daehyun had slept in it. It was actually pretty scary that he was being this erse, but he could at least have his mini fantasies, right? If he wasn’t going to be able to do couple stuff with Daehyun, then he could at least let himself drown in his own imagination for just a little bit, right?

With a sigh, Young Jae closed his eyes as he adjusted his position a bit to get more comfortable. He took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of the freshly washed sheets. Young Jae really did enjoy this smell and he was actually quite tempted to get the maids to wash his sheets now. He will admit, he had his sheets washed once a month or so, but he was tempted to get it washed much more often now if it meant enjoying a fresh scent and the feel of cleanliness.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Wow… It looks so different in the day time!” (JU) After spending a few hours making absolutely certain that there was nothing of theirs left in the apartment, Daehyun and Jongup had bid their apartment farewell before embarking for their new home. It was a bit of a surprise when Young Jae’s men had come in, saying that they were there to transport their things to Young Jae’s home. Yes, Young Jae had told Daehyun ahead of time, but it was still a little intimidating to see about four or five men all dressed in suits show up at their door.

Now, they were pulling up to the large estate and it still felt like a dream. Just as it had been on their first visit, Daehyun couldn’t help but feel as if the mansion continued to exude an aura of intimidation. He was rather nervous about the whole thing, but… he couldn’t help but feel excited too. After all, he was going to be able to experience what it’s like to be rich. It may have been a small amount of experience, but it was better than nothing. Who knows? Maybe rich people weren’t as stuck up and snobby as they were normally portrayed in the movies. “Just remember to watch yourself. Be polite and… don’t touch anything, okay?” (DH)

“Don’t worry about me, big brother! I got this. No problem at all! I even know how to talk to maids. Jin told me that if I ever need anything, I’m supposed to keep my chin up and command them so that they’ll see just how important I am and get me what I need.” (JU) Daehyun sighed as he shook his head. What was Jin teaching Jongup? Daehyun needed to have a talk with him one of these days, but for now, he was going to have to make sure that Jongup didn’t end up getting them kicked out of this place too.

“That’s not how you talk to maids, or… any of the servants. Just… be polite and don’t boss them around like you’re the boss.” (DH) Unknown to Daehyun, Jongup had a bit of a disappointed look on his face. He would have found it fun to order people around, but Daehyun usually knew best. There were plenty of times where Jin had been wrong, so it was probably safe to follow Daehyun’s advice. Plus, he didn’t want to get Daehyun into trouble. “Oh, and... make sure to thank Young Jae and his parents when we see them. They’re really helping us out with this.” (DH)

“They are? Well… okay then.” (JU) Daehyun had nearly forgotten that he hadn’t told Jongup the truth yet, but he was glad that he didn’t question it. What would he have said if Jongup had tried to question it a little more? He would just have to come up with something later once they were settled in. For now, he would just push it off to the side and hope for the best.

As the truck barely slowed to a stop, Jongup had practically flung open the door before hopping out of the car. Daehyun would have said something about being irresponsible, but he merely let out a sigh and shook his head as he put the truck into park before turning the car off. Stepping out of the truck, Daehyun closed the door before walking around to the back and opening it up. “Hey! You two sure took your time showing up.” (BY)

Daehyun and Jongup both looked up to see Yongguk walking down the steps with his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his face. Daehyun smiled a bit as he pulled their suitcases off of the truck before setting them on the ground. When Yongguk had made their way up to them, he pulled each of them individually into a friendly hug, putting their back in the process. It was a quick hug of sorts, displaying his awkwardness when it came to hugs, but also displaying his friendliness with certain individuals. “What, were you waiting for us this entire time?” (DH)

“Yeah. I waited a whole hour for you to get here.” (BY) Yongguk chuckled a bit as he looked down at the suitcases before looking at the truck bed. From what he could see, the two had about four or five suitcases as well about three boxes with them. Was this all of their stuff or did the movers have the rest of their things? Well, that didn’t matter. The less stuff they had, the easier it would be to move everything up to their room. “This all your stuff?” (BY)

“Nope! The movers are bringing the rest of our stuff.” (JU) Just as he finished saying that, the three males looked over at the gate once they heard the sound of it opening. There, they saw the movers’ truck coming in. Daehyun still didn’t really understand why Young Jae had insisted on sending his men to help move their stuff. Considering the fact that they didn’t have too many boxes, Daehyun was certain that they would have been able to fit everything into their own truck. Still… he didn’t want to let Young Jae’s actions go to waste, so he had let their non-personal things go into the movers’ truck.

“Alright. Just leave your stuff here. I’ll take care of it all. Go on inside. Someone will be waiting already to bring you to your rooms. Lunch will be ready soon, so just rest up until then or something.” (BY) Both Daehyun and Jongup nodded and after thanking Yongguk, they went up the steps. Daehyun did wonder when he was technically going to actually start working. Since Yongguk mentioned lunch, then that probably meant that Daehyun wouldn’t be cooking for Young Jae at this moment. Well, it wouldn’t really have to be much longer for him to wait for his answer.

Entering the mansion, the two was instantly greeted by one of the employees of the house. The servant then led the way upstairs before turning right and walking down the long hallway. There was one hallway that they passed, which the servant explained was where Young Jae’s and Yongguk’s bedrooms were. On the opposite side was Kyungsoo’s bedroom as well as his parent’s bedroom. The study and library was also to the left while the guest rooms and guest kitchen were on the right side. That was the most that he could explain to the two before they reached their bedrooms. Once Daehyun and Jongup exchanged their thanks to the servant, the servant bowed before walking away. “Wow… So these are really our rooms! I’m really excited!” (JU)

“You think they leave candy on our pillows…?” (DH)

“… Do they?” (JU)

“I don’t know… Let’s ask Young Jae. The servant said that Young Jae was in my room.” (DH) Once Jongup nodded, both males turned to the door before Daehyun opened the door and pushed it open. Stepping inside, Daehyun looked around in awe as he took a few steps more into the room. When his eyes landed on his bed though, he couldn’t help but smile before walking over to it. “Well, it looks like he was right.” (DH)

“Whe- Ooh…” (JU) As Daehyun sat on the bed, Jongup ran over to them before kneeling down and leaning against the bed. Young Jae was currently sleeping on the bed and from the looks of it, he seemed pretty comfortable at the moment. He didn’t blame him though. The bed felt pretty soft and Daehyun was definitely looking forward to going to sleep in this bed now. “Should we… wake him up?” (JU)

“Yeah. We probably should. I’ll wake him up, so, uh… why don’t you go check out your room in the meantime?” (DH) Daehyun looked over at Jongup, whom lifted his head a bit as he looked back at Daehyun with surprise. He blinked a few times, but when he registered what Daehyun said, Jongup nodded before getting to his feet and walking out of the bedroom.

When the door was closed, Daehyun turned to Young Jae before his eyes slowly traced along Young Jae’s body. He couldn’t help checking Young Jae out, especially since he was currently lying on his stomach. Morally speaking, Daehyun knew that it was wrong for him to do anything to Young Jae while he was like this, but… it was very tempting. Closing and opening his hands a few times, Daehyun bit his bottom lip before closing his eyes tightly and turning his head away. He had to admit, Daehyun really wanted to feel up Young Jae right now. If it hadn’t been for the fact that they weren’t in nor couldn’t enter a relationship like that, then Daehyun probably would have. He knew that he had to have at least some self constraint, so with a deep breath, Daehyun turned and look at Young Jae before he reached forward and began shaking Young Jae by his shoulder. “Hey… Young Jae. Wake up.” (DH)

Daehyun did this for a minute or so, but when it was evident that Young Jae wasn’t going to wake up, he had to come up with something else. Was he a heavy sleeper like Jongup? If that were the case, then he’d have to practically wrestle Young Jae awake. Would Young Jae get angry over that, though? Well, there was only one way to find out.

With a grin, Daehyun got to his feet and took a few steps back before stretching a bit. This was going to be interesting and hopefully, he didn’t anger Young Jae in the process of a little experimentation. Locking his eyes on Young Jae’s sleeping form, Daehyun positioned himself and took in a deep breath before he gave himself a running start. When he was close enough, he pounced, landing roughly on the bed before he wrapped his limbs around the slowly awakening and confused Young Jae. YOUNG JAE! TIME TO WAKE UP!” (DH)

“W-Wha-?!” (YJ) Young Jae groaned and whined here and there, flailing his limbs around in an attempt to get out of Daehyun’s hold. He had no idea as to what was going on, so panic-mode had kicked in. At first, he thought he was under attack and he was technically right to assume so. With a pair of arms each restricting his own as well as a pair of legs wrapped around his legs, Young Jae found himself very uncomfortably restricted. “W-Who the hell is this?! Let go!” (YJ)

“You’re fully awake?” (DH)

YES! NOW LET GO!” (YJ) When Young Jae felt the other person release him, he instantly turned around and straddled the person before grabbing the other person’s collar. He had just pulled his fist back before his eyes widened, seeing the grin on Daehyun’s face as he looked up at him. “D-Dae…” (YJ)

“Are you… going to punch me?” (DH) Young Jae stared for a moment longer before furrowing his eyebrows and lightly punching Daehyun’s shoulder. Daehyun laughed a bit, putting his hands on Young Jae’s thighs before giving it a light squeeze. Young Jae chuckled a bit, shaking his head slightly before leaning back a bit. When Young Jae continued to sit on Daehyun, Daehyun briefly glanced down at Young Jae’s crotch before looking up at Young Jae’s face. “So… How long are you going to sit on me? Or… is this going to lead to something?” (DH)

“What? Oh! Shi- Hold on.” (YJ) Young Jae was about to get off of Daehyun, but he paused for a moment. Looking back down at Daehyun, he stared at him for a moment before his eyes trailed downwards, toward Daehyun’s chest. Yes, Daehyun was wearing a jacket, but he was unintentionally mentally undressing Daehyun. Putting his hands on Daehyun’s chest, he leaned forward a bit before looking back up at Daehyun’s face. “Do you… want it to lead to something else?” (YJ)

Daehyun raised a single brow as he tried to see if this was some sort of trick question. However, there was no evidence of sorts that would tell whether or not Young Jae was completely serious or not. Still… Daehyun knew better than to progress any further. Reaching up, Daehyun took hold of Young Jae’s wrists before lightly tugging it. “You know that even if I did… we can’t.” (DH)

“Yeah... You’re right.” (YJ) Once Daehyun had released Young Jae’s wrists, Young Jae swung his leg around before lying down next to Daehyun. Young Jae let out a small sigh as he stared up at the ceiling, his hand resting on his stomach. Turning his head towards Young Jae, Daehyun smiled a bit as he nudged Young Jae with his elbow to gain his attention.

“I like the room a lot. Thanks for this, Young Jae.” (DH)

“That’s good to hear… Hey, uh… I’ll let you get settled in before you start working, but uh… I’ll still count today as your first day of work.” (YJ) Daehyun smiled before looking back up at the ceiling. He leaned his head towards Young Jae and to his surprise, he could feel Young Jae’s head touching his own.

“Thanks… You’re a life safer.” (DH)

“Anything for a good friend.” (YJ) Both males lay there for a moment before Young Jae’s stomach began growling. Daehyun looked at Young Jae for a brief moment before poking Young Jae’s stomach in a playful manner. Young Jae pouted, quickly swatting Daehyun’s hand away and causing him to laugh.

“Wow! Your stomach is like a creature from a movie. I didn’t know that you would get so hungry.” (DH) Daehyun pushed himself up to a sitting position before looking back down at Young Jae. Young Jae laid there, his eyebrows furrowed and his cheeks puffed out as he playfully hit Daehyun’s arm.

“I’m deducting from your paycheck.” (YJ)

“Ah! Sorry, sorry mister boss, sir! Is there anything I can do to make up for it?” (DH) Daehyun had that playful smile on his face as he clasped his hands together and slightly bowed his head. Pushing himself up, Young Jae narrowed his eyelids as he came uncomfortably close to Daehyun. His eyes briefly glanced down before he locked in on Daehyun’s eyes, a sort of smirk on his face.

“I know we’re not supposed to, but… a little kiss should make up for it.” (YJ)

“A kiss? You’re an engaged man, but… I think that’s doable.” (DH) Young Jae’s hopes seemed to instantly rise upon hearing that sentence. He hadn’t expected Daehyun to agree to such a thing, but this was definitely a good thing. However, his hopes were completely dashed and replaced by confusion as Daehyun leaned back before digging into his pocket and holding something out to Young Jae. Young Jae looked down for a moment before holding his hand out, to which Daehyun dropped the object into his hand. “A kiss. There. I made it up to you.” (DH)

Daehyun slid off of the bed before taking a few steps and stretching a bit. Looking down at his hand, Young Jae stared blankly at the tin-covered chocolate kiss that had somehow perfectly landed onto the center of his palm. Why did Daehyun even have chocolate in his pocket to begin with? Judging by the feel of it though, it was still in perfect condition. Of course, he couldn’t help but laugh a bit before enclosing his hand around the chocolate morsel. “You got me… That’s for sure.” (YJ)

“Anyway, you’re hungry, right? Wanna go have lunch? I heard from Yongguk that they’re almost done cooking.” (DH) Young Jae thought for a moment, but he decided to nod before getting up to his feet. Okay, so he was disappointed that Daehyun hadn’t given him the kind of kiss that he had been hoping for, but at least spending time with him was good enough for him. “Okay… well… lead the way. I don’t know where to go.” (DH)

“Right! Right… Follow me.” (YJ) After leaving Daehyun’s new bedroom, they turned left and down the hallway before entering the guest living area. To the left was a living room equipped with the usual sofas, chairs, tables, and the television set. Next to the living area was a long wooden table with a glass top, with about six dining chairs lined along the sides and the ends of the table. It was probably safe to assume that this was the dining area. To the right was the kitchen, which was rather bare at the moment besides the stove, refrigerator, cabinets, and sink. Next to the kitchen was a set of stairs, though the way down was facing towards the kitchen as opposed to away. Then, in the middle of this entire area, was a set of glass doors that led out to the balcony. It was as if there was a house inside of this mansion and Daehyun couldn’t help but look around with awe and curiosity. “This is the guest area. This will be where you and Jongup can hang around and stuff. This kitchen will be specifically yours, so you can stock it with whatever you want. This is also where you’ll be working so that you’re not in the chef’s way. They don’t really like it when there’s people in the kitchen that aren’t… well, them. The stairs here lead down into a hallway that leads to the kitchen and dining area, so, uh… you can just use this if you need anything downstairs. We’ll take these stairs for now.” (YJ)

“Sounds simple enough. This place is pretty big… Do you usually play games around here?” (DH) Young Jae stopped for a brief moment before he continued down the stairs. What kind of games did Daehyun have in mind? It had been quite a long while since he’s played any sort of games. In fact, he was certain that the last game he played was about five or six years ago when his father scolded him for being too old to be running around the hallways.

“Well… I mean, we could, but I don’t think father would approve.” (YJ)

“Oh… Bummer.” (DH) Young Jae noted the disappointment in Daehyun’s voice, but when he looked behind him at Daehyun, he could see him smiling while looking around with curiosity. Daehyun was a confusing yet not so confusing person and maybe one of these days, he would agree to play whatever game Daehyun wanted to play. It seemed like it would be fun and in a way, it would be nice to relive his childhood.

[[ My Own Thoughts:

Okay so…
Frustrations between the two, but at least they’re on friendly terms. X3
Daehyun may have completely forgotten about a certain someone…
So hopefully things end up turning well for everyone regardless. X3

Comments are loved >3<

Chapter 48: I swear this is like one of the best fanfic I have ever read. The childhood part was really interesting and nicely done, I wish you would detail some scenes but that's okay. And now... I don't know where you are going with this but I feel so excited. I am sad for Jin though because for the first time, he found someone important and yet, he lost it. That's so cruel you know. R. I. P Taehyung ~ ;-; Kyungsoo is a freaking bastard, hope he would end up in prison. Seungjong too! Feels like you are plotting something with him haha! Especially since he didn't get his revenge. Damn.... Daehyun will get to suffer again. X) about DaeJae, I love how slow you are making it. That's frustrating and sweet at the same time. And BangHim gosh, I want them to be together officially. But each time something interrupt them. X) is their couple going to be part of your plot or is it not that important? That's funny because I thought from the childhood that Himchan would have ended up with Sunny ~ By the way, that's been a long time we haven't seen her, is she going to make a cameo haha?
I also found it funny how Zelo and Jongup didn't like each other and how dependant Junhong seems to be towards Jongup when they both grew up haha! I actually laughed a lot when they bickered back then and now Junhong likes his hyung haha! Funny ~ Anyway I'm just going to end this review because I spent the last four nights reading these 48 chapters, I feel like I'm not making any sense anymore haha! Well, fighting for the next chapter, I am kind of excited to read it now! Fighting!!!!
