Am I still alive?

My eyes..They open slowly as it feels so heavy, revealing my eyes to the bright light, a white light.

Am I dead?

No. I'm not. I could see that is it the light from such a simple florescent light bulb.

The third question I ask myself is : Where am I?

That was about to be answered..

A pair of hands were holding my left hand. I try to grip on it. But i could only exert just a tiny amount of force. Is it enough?

"Doctor! Doctor! She's awake."

That voice. Ah.. My dear cousin.. Doctor? That means I'm in the hospital? Does that mean I'm out of the 'torturing chamber'?

My eyes finally opens up. How long was i asleep? The doctor came in with Eu Yun unnie. He examines me thoroughly and gave my cousin a look of satisfaction to my condition.

"Thank God" She said, while I remain silence, thinking what to say. She came up to me and hold my hands.

"Oh ______, We were so worried about you.." Tears welled up in her eyes. I catch a drop with my finger.

"Its ok.." was what i wanted to say to her, BUT nothing came out of my mouth. Not a single word. I was shock. I tried saying something else. I then panic. What happen to my voice? I look at her, with my hands on my throat.
