Love's A Game
Love's First GameAuthor's Note:
I know this chapter is pretty boring but I guess this would be an important chapter because this is where impressions are made. Anyways, read along. I hope you will enjoy :D
Soo Hee's POV
My friday nights are spent with my friends. We aren't the type of people you would typically categorize as popular or the very rich ones in school but we weren't normal either. We are members of a special club which devote our extra time training for quiz bees and competitions. We aren't complete nerds or anything like that. We are pretty much just like everyone else, with something extra.
We usually eat out on a friday night, talking about each other's life, updating ourselves about new competitions we could join just to add another trophy at home.
So now we are eating at some Thai restaurant. We have never tried Thai food so its really pretty new for us.
"Yaaah! Pass that bowl to me, please." Jonghyun said shouting. He has been
"You're day dreaming again! What ever is happening to you, that's serious!" Jonghyun added, raising the tone of his voice.
"Ohh.. I'm sorry. I'm just.. uhhm.." I replied, trying my hardest to understand myself.
"You're just in love!" Taemin interrupted. All of them burst into laughing.
"Haha whatever. Me, falling in love? That's just nonsense!" I disagreed. Love has never crossed my mind. Ever.
"But Soo Hee, there are a lot of guys who want to go out with you. Why don't you give it a try?" Rina, who has been my friend since kindergarten, asked me.
"Come on, Rina. Why would I even waste my time going out with boys when I can go out with you guys?" I said, showing a cute face.
"Awwwwwwwww!" Onew reacted immediately. "Come on guys! Are we going to talk about love now?" He said, pouting.
"Hyung, why not?" Taemin asked, surprised, with food inside his mouth.
"What? Don't tell me you even believe the things show you on television. Love isn't real!" Onew kept munching on the chicken dish he ordered.
"You are heartless, Onew. Truely and extremely heartless." Rina clapped her hands very slowly, as if taunting Onew.
"I'm not heartless, Rina. I'm just realistic. I don't believe in love because I haven't felt it. And I know I wouldn't. Love is just with parents or siblings, but not with somebody else."
"That's pitiful." I laughed. "But what if you ever fall in love with someone?"
"I am 100% sure I won't." Onew smiled with that sure look on his face. I know he's not lying or anything. He's always sure about what he says.
"I bet you will hyung, when you find that perfect girl for you!" Taemin poked Onew a couple of times, teasing him.
"Love's just a game. Whoever falls in love will surely lose!" Onew said.
"I'm willing to lose." Rina exclaimed.
"Me too!" Taemin raised his hand excitedly.
"Well I'm not." Onew said proudly.
After hearing everything, I felt a stabbing pain in my chest. Why is it so saddening to hear what Onew said. Is it really true that love is just a game? Well then, I guess I'm not willing to lose.
