Kim Kyungsoo, the son of a gardener Kim and also the younger brother of Kim Xiumin. Kyungsoo had good grades, great cooking skills and, unlike his older brother, he was very calm and collected. One of his hobbies is to sing. No one knows about his liking to sing except his family and best friend, Chanyeol. Everyday before the school starts he would go to the music room and sing for himself. He doesn’t know exactly why he comes so early in the morning to school, maybe it was to be alone for a while. But he enjoyes it.

Till one day,

when Kyungsoo came to the music room he noticed that something was odd within it. He felt like someone was watching him the whole time he was there. At first Kyungsoo ignored that feeling and began to play on the piano while he sang to a song. After a couple of songs he sang, he stopped playing and stared into the air.

“Who’s there?” he asked. No one answered him. He sighed and walked away from the piano and started to walk around the room. He stopped right infront of a long and thick drapery. On the floor he could see two pairs of shoes sticking out from behind the drapery. “You’re not good at hiding, you know.” he said flatly. “Come out from the drapery and show yourself.”

At first the person didn’t seemed to want to leave his hiding place, but then he slowly stepped out and revealed himself. Kyungsoo swore he recognised the tall tan boy that was standing infront of him while scratching his neck in embarrasment of getting caught by him. The black haired boy looked at him from head to toe. “So…?” he raised a brow.

“So what?” the tan boy blinked his eyes in confusion.

“Why are you hiding?” asked Kyungsoo calmly.

“Uhm…” the boy’s face began to redden. “I heard you sing a few weeks ago and since then I couldn’t help but wonder who the voice belonged to. Soooo I hid myself here to be able to see the person in close up.” he shyly smiled. His face was now red as a tomato.

“Really?” Kyungsoo blinked his eyes. “May I ask your name?”

“My name is Kim Jongin.” smiled the boy.

Kim Jongin. Kim Jongin. Kim Jongin. Where have I heard that name before? Kyungsoo began to think deeply. Then he got a flashback to when his brother told him about an annoying person.

They where sitting at their kitchen table at home while eating cereals. “He’s sooo annoying!” Xiumin groaned. “He also has a cousin that’s less annoying. I warn you, Kyungsoo-yah,” Xiumin pointed at him with his spoon. “watch out for Kim Jongdae. He’s a bad man, I tell you. Oh! Do also watch out for his cousin, Kim Jongbin, or was it Jongin? Well, whatever, just avoid them for your own safety.” he said.

“Yes, hyung.” Kyungsoo nodded.

“Good.” Xiumin smiled and ate again.

Then he remembered about the birthday party he helped with for Suho’s friend. He recalled the image of the horrendous cake he witnessed that was created by the boy. His eyes rounded. “Now I remember you!” he said.

Jongin smiled. “I’m glad you do.” Kyungsoo felt himself smiling to him. He doesn’t look like a bad person… He seems friendly. “Uhm…” Jongin scratched his neck as he glanced towards the piano. “You know how to play piano, right?” Kyungsoo nodded his head. “Can you… uhmm… teach me how to play…?” Jongin shyly asked.

“Sure.” Kyungsoo smiled. He grabbed his arm and led him towards the piano. “We can begin with ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’, it’s the easiest song you can learn on piano.” he said and began to play it for him. “Now you try.”

Jongin tried but ended up by playing on the wrong ivories on the piano. “It’s hard…” he muttered.

“It’s alright, you just began to play.” Kyungsoo said. “You’re actually much better than I was when I began to play.”

“Really?” Jongin looked at him with big eyes.

“Yes.” Kyungsoo nodded.

“How old were you when you began to play?” asked Jongin.

“I was seven years old.” he answered and smiled.

“Should I take it as a compliment...?” Jongin muttered and blinked his eyes.

Kyungsoo couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’ll show you again how to play.” he demonstrated the song again with a smile on his face. It was fun teaching the younger boy how to play on piano.

Would Xiumin hyung get mad if he befriended him?

He would, but Kyungsoo doesn’t care.
