Chapter 38

The Head Moves

Suzy saw her pigeon. And it is dancing in the air as a warning.

“Is there a problem?” asked Insung

“I think the Head is coming this way.” Said Suzy

Insung looked in the air and saw the pigeon…so familiar…isn’t that Hye Kyo’s pigeon?

“Is that yours?” asked Insung.

“Ummm yes. Why?” asked Suzy

“Oh…nothing…I guess pigeons are really good communication animals.” Said Insung.

Why is the pattern of the pigeon movements so familiar?

“We need to get ready Master Insung.” Said Suzy

“Right. I will face Hye Kyo…but it will too bad if I face her alone in Wonbin’s house.”

“But I can’t leave Madame Eun Hye alone when the head is just near, Master Insung.” Said Suzy

“I will be all right alone here Suzy. Do not worry.” Said Eun Hye

“No…I will stay Madame. This is a very dangerous situation.” Said Suzy

“Eun Hye is sealed Suzy…and I won’t let Hye Kyo out of my sight.” Said Insung

“No Master Insung. Please make me stay.” Said Suzy

“What is the matter Suzy? Are you afraid of the head? This isn’t the first time you will face her isn’t it?” asked Insung.

“No it isn’t.” answered Suzy.

“Then let’s go together.” Said Insung

Suzy looked defeated as she nodded her head. Insung shook his head. Hye Kyo sure frightened the kids.

Sulli stared at the bowl of pumpkin soup now on top of the kitchen table. She was trying to hold back her tears but she couldn’t. Does Minho hate her now that he found out about their Mothers?

Just last night…they shared a very romantic moment together….they told each other how much they missed each other…and how much they love each other…

Are those words gone with the night?

Sulli wiped her tears and starting drinking the soup.

“Hey.” Heechul stopped Sulli’s hand as she was going to drink the soup.

“You just had two bowls earlier.” Said Heechul “Aren’t you full yet? Do you want to be a fat demon?”

“I’m only half demon. And one bowl of soup won’t make me fat.” Said Sulli

“But too much is bad.” Said Heechul

Sulli burped.

“That’s what I mean.” Said Heechul

“I just don’t want this to go to waste.” Said Sulli “This was special…I…made it special.”

Sulli can’t bear the gripping feeling inside her chest.

Sulli turned back and tried to wipe her tears.

Heechul turned her to face him.

“It’s ok Sulli. I know what you did. Your soup was fantastic. I know Insung won’t like to hear this but, your soup is better than his.” Said Heechul

Heechul lifted the bowl.

“If you don’t mind…can I have it?” asked Heechul

“The owner doesn’t seem to even take notice of it…” said Sulli “You can have it.”

Heechul drank the soup in one go.

“I don’t mind drinking a soup that somebody else ignored Sulli…I don’t care if I’m just a second choice.” Heechul pulled Sulli into a quick hug and then went out.

Sulli blinked a few times…

What was that for?

Minho heard the conversation inside the house when he was about to enter it. He was hungry since he didn’t eat anything earlier.

“I just don’t want this to go to waste.” Said Sulli “This was special…I…made it special.”

Who is Sulli talking to?

 “It’s ok Sulli. I know what you did. Your soup was fantastic.”

It’s Heechul

“I know Insung won’t like to hear this but, your soup is better than his.”

Minho gripped the door knob as memories of Heechul’s words came back to him.

“I will turn her eyes to me Minho. I will block her sight of you. Until she can see no other person but me.”

“If you don’t mind…can I have it?” asked Heechul

Minho opened the door partially.

“The owner doesn’t seem to even take notice of it…” said Sulli “You can have it.”

That made Minho’s chest heave in anger.

“I don’t mind drinking a soup that somebody else ignored Sulli…I don’t care if I’m just a second choice.”

Minho’s eyes widened as Heechul pulled Sulli into an embrace. He dropped his hand from the door handle. And when he saw Heechul coming his way, he hid behind a wall.

Heechul was serious when he threatened to get Sulli from him.

Minho punched the wall.

Insung and Suzy waited by Wonbin’s house. It did not take long before Hye Kyo appeared with the Hyuna branch.

“I told you they are together.” Said Hyuna “The conniving branches.”

“Stop it Hyuna. I have already heard everything you needed to say.” Said Hye Kyo

“I thought you’d come so I waited for you here, Hye Kyo.” Said Insung

“Let’s talk Insung. Just the two of us.” Said Hye Kyo

Insung and Hye Kyo went to a room inside the house. Suzy stayed by the door smiling at Hyuna.

“Is this your happy moment?” asked Hyuna

“No, but it is your happy moment…however I don’t see you smiling. In fact…I think you lost one member.” Said Suzy

“Smile all you want now….in a while, I’ll be the one smiling.” Said Hyuna

Hye Kyo clenched her hand.

“Let’s not beat around the bush.” Said Hye Kyo “You and Wonbin are hiding Sulli now. You have her and your branches are protecting her.”

“Yes.” Said Insung

“Why? She’s a demon. What is so special about her?” asked Hye Kyo

“The demon clan still exists Hye Kyo. But Sulli is different from all of them.” Said Insung

“Why Insung? What is different about her?”

Insung looked away…is Hye Kyo ready for this? Can she take this?

No…Hye Kyo will surely get Sulli…and she will still treat her like a threat.

“For old time sake Insung. We go a long way. Don’t make me treat you like a rebel. Don’t make me do things that I will regret.” Said Hye Kyo

“Hye Kyo…In this world…can demons and hunter live together?” asked Insung

Hye Kyo took a deep breath.

“No…Insung demons and hunters are cursed to hate each other and kill each other.” Said Hye Kyo “There is no way that we can stand each other without hurting each other.”

“What if there’s a way? As the head of the family…will you allow it?” asked Insung

“Why are you asking this Insung?” asked Hye Kyo “What is Sulli’s relation to these questions?”

“Sulli wanted to fight her demon blood. She wants to abstain from eating human.
