CHAPTER 30

SHE CAN’T BE ALONE

“You can’t trust anyone.”

Sulli remembered Chanyeol’s words when they talked earlier.

“In this place, everyone wants you to stay. You are our next ruler. In your hands lay the clan’s future. So you can’t tell anybody that you want to leave. They will all be against it. They will do everything to make you stay.”

Chanyeol is right. Everyone would want her to stay.

Sulli reached for the zipper of her gown.

Sulli took her gown off and wore her normal blouse and pants.

Her room’s door opened.

“Lady Ji Hyun asked for your presence.” Said Dara

Sulli nodded and took a deep breath. It will be easier to just follow them for now.

Dara led Sulli to the dungeon.

Dungeon?

Again?

But Why?

“There you are.” Said Ji Hyun smiling “Taemin said you are too hungry. I am glad to hear that. When I heard you refused to feed, you made me so worried.”

“Umm…” Sulli looked around guessing why Ji Hyun asked for her in the dungeon. “Chanyeol gave me something to eat earlier. So I am already really full.”

Ji Hyun turned back where Taemin and Chanyeol were both standing.

“Did you?” asked Ji Hyun

“Yes.” Said Chanyeol lying.

“Good.” Said Ji Hyun “But  a demon is never ‘really full’.”

Ji Hyun gestured for a someone to open one of the cells.

“There is a hunter inside. I really reserved her for you. She is a strong one. I’m sure she’s going to really make you stronger.” Said Ji Hyun

Oh no…

“She’s all yours my dear.” Said Ji Hyun

Sulli quickly looked at Chanyeol. What is she to do? She’s not going to eat anyone anymore!

“Umm…can I…have her without anyone here? I mean…I feel bad when someone is watching me feed.” Said Sulli

Ji Hyun smiled.

“You’re still shy.” Said Ji Hyun

“Please.” Said Sulli

Ji Hyun took a deep breath.

“All right.” Said Ji Hyun “Dara come with me. Chanyeol, Taemin, stay here.  If she doesn’t want to be watched you can stay by the door.”

Ji Hyun hugged Sulli.

“I want you to be strong soon Sulli. There are a lot of things that has to be done for the clan. And we need you.” Said Ji Hyun

Ji Hyun pulled back and walked out with Dara.

Sulli took a deep breath.

“We’re going to stay by the door” said Taemin

Sulli looked at Chanyeol.

“I won’t do it.” Said Sulli

Taemin looked back at Sulli.

“Sulli…You have to feed. It’s a present from your Aunt.” Said Taemin

“Please go ahead to the door Taemin.” Said Chanyeol

“No. He stays here. We need him Chanyeol.” Said Sulli

“I told you we can’t trust anyone else.” Said Chanyeol

“What is this about?” asked Taemin

“Don’t.” warned Chanyeol

“I want to set the hunter free.” Said Sulli

“What?” asked Taemin

Chanyeol’s eyes narrowed. What does Sulli really want?

“The hunter inside. I will set her free.” Said Sulli

“What are you thinking Sulli? Once you set her free, she’s going to kill a lot of demons.” Said Taemin

“I want to set her free Taemin, because I am not going to eat her. Since my Aunt gave her to me as gift, I am free to do anything I want to her right?” asked Sulli “I want to set her free.”

Taemin looked at Chanyeol.

“What are we going to do?” asked Taemin

Sulli went inside the cell. She saw the hunter woman looking at the ground. It is the same hunter woman that Chanyeol used when they tried to control Sulli’s hunger.

“What is your name?” asked Sulli

“Do you need to know the name of your meal?” asked the hunter “Does it make the feeding more pleasurable?”

That is right. This hunter only sees them as beasts…monsters whose only goal for living…is feeding.

Sulli smiled as she approached the hunter.

“No, it will make me loose hunger when I personally know my meal.” Said Sulli “Right now, I can smell how mouth watering you are…you make me so hungry beyond words. But I chose to be human. Even if my blood and body refuses to agree with my choice, I will stick with my decision.”

Sulli went beside the hunter. The hunter moved away afraid of Sulli.

“Knowing your name…and letting you go is the first step of my fight against my blood.” Said Sulli

“Letting…me go?” asked the hunter

“I will try to free you. I  still don’t know how. But I’ll find a way.” Said Sulli

“You can never fight a demon blood once it awakens. Nobody in history has ever done that.” Said the hunter

“Then I’ll be the first. Or I’ll die trying.” Said Sulli

Sulli took a deep breath. “But first, I have to free you.”

“How can you do that? There are hundreds of demons in this place.” Said the hunter “Besides, they want you to eat me now. When they come back here, they shouldn’t see me alive anymore.”

“That is right. That is why I am going to beg those demons” Sulli pointed to Teamin and Chanyeol who can hear her every word “To help me find a way to hide you and free you. I heard they are one of the strongest.”

Sulli walked towards Taemin and Chanyeol.

“Naeun.” Said the hunter

“Huh?” asked Sulli

“My Name is Naeun.” Said the hunter

That made Sulli smile again.

Sulli nodded.

“That’s a very nice name. I’m Sulli…Sulli Choi.” Said Sulli smiling

Sulli continued going to Taemin and Chanyeol

“We need to get her out of here.” Said Sulli

“That is impossible. We can’t get her out without anyone smelling her.” Said Chanyeol

“And that is just absurd, Sulli!” said Taemin “Why are you doing this? You are our ruler.”

“I am doing this because I am trying fight for whatever human’s blood is left in me.” Said Sulli “Because I don’t want to hurt them anymore…because I was once like them…and I believe I still am.”

Taemin closed his eyes.

“Taemin, You too was once human…those emotions…those feelings…the need to belong…” Sulli tried to fight off her tears. “Even if you only consider feeding on them as a normal thing…like a lion eating its prey, I know you once felt like how I feel…disgusted…sick…becausedeep inside, you know it isn’t normal…you know it’s murder.”

Taemin closed his eyes. His hands clenched to a fist.

“Do you know that from the time you came back with us…I already swore that I will stay by your side. I swore that I will be loyal to you since
