CHAPTER 10

FIANCEE

An aged hunter like him won’t give up easily…

In-sung is finding a hard time looking for the source of the smell.

“Hye Kyo won’t be happy if I don’t come back to the shop soon.” Said Insung.

And then he stopped…it seems the smell is coming from an office at the back end of the house. He knocked twice. A middle aged man went out to check who knocked.

“Who’s there?” answered a man.

In-sung slid inside the room at that moment. The man did not notice him. Insung  went to the ceiling to hide himself as the man went back to the room.

The man went to his desk reading some papers…this can take hours…and In-sung doesn’t have hours to spare.

The man doesn’t seem like he’s the source of the smell…the man is just human…so where can it be coming from?

In-sung looked around and something caught his attention. Inside a cabinet is a vase…it looks old…really old…he inched closer until he’s directly on top of the cabinet.

“It’s this cabinet all right.” Thought In-sung.

And like an answered prayer, the man walked out of the room.

In-sung went down and opened the cabinet. He held the vase in his hand. He can feel the demon all over the vase. Is this a demon trap? Could it be that there’s a demon inside the vase?

Insung went out from the window. Hye Kyo won’t be happy that he’s late.

Sulli sat across Hye Kyo.

“What do you think of my relatives?” asked Hye Kyo

“Are you…like them?” asked Sulli

“Well…If you mean that they are slow men, absolutely not…but if you mean it as Demon Hunters, yes, I am also one.” Said Hye Kyo

So  that’s what they call themselves…. DEMON HUNTERS.

Hye Kyo stood up and went to Sulli.

“What do you know about Demons?” asked Hye Kyo

“They’re…” Sulli tried to think hard “Beasts…they….harm people.”

“Most of the time.” Said Hye Kyo “That’s why we stop them…so that they could not harm anyone anymore. Most of the demons are out of control…they let their hungers control them…if we don’t hunt them…they will surely victimize helpless humans.”

Hye Kyo stood up…Sulli noticed there is something wrong with her legs.

“Ah…my left leg is a bit distorted. It got injured in one of my biggest hunts.” Said Hye Kyo “Normally Hunters who has already eliminated a lot of demons are already  considered strong. Even our bodies heal really fast…but this injury… That Demon was so strong…that nobody in the family could restore my leg to the way it was.”

This woman…exudes confidence despite her leg.

“Do you know what this door is for?” asked Hye Kyo touching the door without feeling any electricity or whatever.

“I am not sure…” said Sulli… “Umm…they mentioned something about…protection against demons…I initially thought it was meant to be a joke.”

“Do you still think it’s a joke?” asked Hye Kyo

Sulli shook her head.

“The door has a charm…anyone who holds the door and has demon blood… would be attacked by the door.” Said Hye Kyo

Sulli clenched her hand.

“I think the door is not perfect…it can still go wrong.” Said Sulli

“Really? How can you say?” asked Hye Kyo

“I…touched the door once and I felt weak suddenly…but as you can see…I am no demon.” Said Sulli

“You don’t look like a demon…but even demons look beautiful.” Said Hye Kyo

Sulli remembered the woman Minho killed in front of her…Yes…she was indeed beautiful…

“And this door does not only target demons…but even those who just has demon blood.” Said Hye Kyo

“What do you mean?” asked Sulli confused.

“A person may have demon blood even if they are not yet a demon.” Said Hye Kyo

“I…I’m not sure I understand.” Said Sulli

The door suddenly opened.

Insung entered and his brows are closed together….

Not good.

“You promised you’ll be careful.” Said Insung

“I did.” Said Hye Kyo

“Stop probing her.” Said Insung

“I just wanted to warn her…demons can be everywhere these days.” Said Hye Kyo

“Sulli…can you leave the two of us please?” asked Insung

Sulli nodded and went out.

“You were almost telling her that she has Demon blood.” Said Insung hiss eyes are changing colour fro
