TORTURE CONTINUES

Insung placed the 3 marbles on Wonbin’s table.

“Looks familiar?” Insung had a wicked smile on his face.

Wonbin’s eyes narrowed.

“Now it’s your turn to entertain me, Wonbin. Can you tell me what these are about?” asked Insung.

Wonbin held one of the marbles and took a closer look.

“What do you want to know?” asked Wonbin “Let me hear your questions. I’ll only answer you with a Yes or No.”

Ahhh…So Wonbin doesn’t have a plan to narrate everything to him, thought Insung. Wonbin’s strategy is…’Squeeze out all you can squeeze…’

“These marbles…were you the one who put this on Mr. Luther Choi’s cabinet?” asked Insung

Wonbin had a stone expression on his face looking straight at Insung. “No”.

 Hmm….so he’s really serious about this.

“Sulli Choi.” Said Insung. “Do you know her?”

“No.” said Wonbin

Insung took a deep breath.

“I will take it that your answer to both is Yes.” Said Insung making Wonbin smirk.

“Can a Demon and a Hunter successfully produce a child? Won’t each other’s blood eat the other?” asked Insung.

That made Wonbin go to the window.

“That’s not a Yes or No question.” Said Wonbin

“Ahhh…right…I just wanted to give it a try and trick you into answering.” Said Insung

“What happened?” asked Wonbin “What made you ask these questions?”

“Minho met Sulli.” Said Insung. “He learned she has demon blood. We were trying to protect her…when Minho told me that Sulli does not smell like a normal demon. That alone is already weird…but something weirder is that…Sulli was attacked by a demon…as a meal…We both know that is not supposed to happen. And her wounds heal fast with blessed water. So…we concluded that she could have hunter blood.” Said Insung

Wonbin closed his eyes.

“We both have our secrets to keep Insung.” Said Wonbin

Both…Does that mean…

Wonbin faced Insung “Yes, I know about Minho…And don’t ask how…that I will not tell you.”

Insung is confused…Wonbin…how did he know?

“How is she…Sulli?” asked Wonbin

“She’s…alive…Minho’s watching over her.” Said Insung

“Why?” asked Wonbin “I left her safe. I asked Luther to envelop her with protection.”

“The child is no longer a kid. She’s an adult now… She’s in the age where she wants to explore the world. The girl is more adventurous than you may think. She even tried to go out at night escaping her guards.” Said Insung

“If she does that…she’ll be in danger.” Said Wonbin “Demons will surely…right…you said she got attacked.” Wonbin crossed his arms over his chest.

And then Wonbin’s eyes widened. His eyes went to look at the marbles.

“You…did you break the seal?” asked Wonbin

Tsk.

Insung took a deep breath ready for scolding.

“I accidentally did. That is why I am here.” Said Insung.

Wonbin shook his head.

“Your nose really gets the better of your eyes.” Said Wonbin frustrated. “When you smell a demon, look around first before touching it. How many times to do I have to tell you that?!”

“It’s not every day in the past thousand years that I see a trapped demon inside a seal.” Said Insung.

“And you call yourself an Elite.” Said Wonbin

“I am a careless elite hunter, I know.” Said Insung “But you see, I am not a son of a shaman to be too sensitive of seals you know. So…as the son of the shaman…Can you put the seal back?”

Wonbin sat down to the nearest chair.

“No. I can’t…I can only seal a thing once. If we need to seal the demon again, we have to get it out of the vase…trap it in another thing…and then seal it.” Said Wonbin

“We can do that right?” said Insung “Let it go for a second, then trap it again.”

“We are not talking of a simple demon, Insung. We’re talking about a demon under ‘that’ clan.” Said Wonbin

“Once we let it out…it only needs a second or two to get away…and then it’s hunting all over again.” Said Wonbin

“It won’t go far, Wonbin. Because we have what it’s seeking, right?” said Insung “As long as we have Sulli…we won’t need to hunt it…it will come to us.”

“We can’t put Sulli into that kind of danger.” Said Wonbin. His face stern.

“I know…but the vase is unstable right now…we need to secure it…if we can’t seal it back…we need to find a way to trap it in another container.” Said Insung.

“I wish it was that simple.” Said Wonbin “That demon took me five days of preparing everything before I could make traps all over the house waiting for her next attack. There were 30 traps in total. That demon avoided 23 of them. I even lost hope that it will ever be trapped.”

That’s a very smart Demon, thought Insung. Wonbin is right…letting it go…is too risky. Especially if it’s a strong one.

“What kind of demon is it?” asked Insung “It doesn’t smell as foul as the others…But compared to the male ruler we hunted before…the male ruler did not have any foul odour at all…he actually smelt like… some rare spices….the trapped demon however…still has some foul smell…only gentler.” said Insung
