Art of Jealousy

Because she is my daughter

Sulli could not believe her ears. Is that Wonbin speaking? And did he just say she was His Daughter?!

“Umm…you can just ask Uee to help me with my wounds.” Said Naeun

“Huh?” Sulli was confused.

“This very moment is when the daughter confronts her father.” Said Naeun

“Oh…right.” Said Sulli still distraught.

Sulli went out of the room. All eyes went to her. She can barely breathe when she spoke…she sounded so nervous.

“Uee…can you help Naeun please?”

Uee nodded.

“Mr. Wonbin...let’s talk.” Sulli went out of the house.

Wonbin followed her.

Sulli reached the far end of the city. She was near the forest but she will not dare enter it.

Sulli turned back to see Wonbin behind her.

“Now can you…please tell me…again what you just said in there?” asked Sulli. Inside Sulli’s heart…she’s all torn up in confusion and anger. How can he just say that in front of the others without talking to her first?!

“It seems you had a fight with a demon, Sulli…your hunter abilities are starting to show…or maybe that was your demon abilities.” Said Wonbin

“What do you mean?” asked Sulli

“Your hearing has improved….tremendously” said Wonbin

“No, I was asking why I would have hunter abilities!” shouted Sulli

Wonbin took a deep breath. This was not easy.

Wonbin took his sword and put it on the floor 3 steps behind him. And then he went back to this original position.

“Why did you do that?” asked Sulli

“Because I want to show you that I am not going to harm you…that I am in front of you NOT as a hunter…but as a father.” Said Wonbin “I am asking you to listen.”

Sulli felt that tugging in her heart moistening her eyes.

“Yes…I am your father, Sulli. You are half hunter.” Said Wonbin

Sulli felt like her heart is being squeezed in pain and joy. Joy that finally…she has a father! But pain that all along…he was alive…yet he never showed up.

“How can that be when hunters hate demons.” Said Sulli “Didn’t you hate my mother?”

“I did…very much…more than a simple hunter-demon hatred. I hated her for a very long time because she killed my first love.” Said Wonbin

Sulli could not utter a word. He mother killed her father’s first love?!

“But the hatred I had towards your mother turned into something different…Something I did not expect…but just happened.” Said Wonbin

Her Hunter father…loved her Demon mother? How can that be possible?!

“Don’t look like you don’t believe, Sulli…Because I know deep inside you, you believe that Minho loves you even during the time when you still didn’t know he had demon blood.” Said Wonbin

Wonbin took a step towards Sulli.

“I gave you to your Uncle…just as your mother wanted. She wanted you to live a normal life…a life without hatred towards any kind. She wants you to retain your human heart no matter what happened.” Said Wonbin “If I made you stay beside me…you will be exposed to demons…and that would make your awakening earlier. I wanted to protect you…that is why I kept you from this world…and made you live in a human world.”

It is the same explanation Minho gave…it seems that all along since her birth, everyone has been protecting her…keeping her from the demon world…but everyone failed. She still became a demon. And now…she’s half hunter?!

“My mother…was the demon clan ruler.” Said Sulli

“That is true.” Said Wonbin

“I am also the demon clan ruler now.” Said Sulli

Sulli felt her tears flowing.

“Yes…you inherited your mother’s gift.” Said Wonbin

“Is she…really dead?” asked Sulli “My mother is she…really gone?” Tears falling from Sulli’s eyes.

Wonbin slowly walked towards Sulli and pulled her to him.

“What…is my mother like?” asked Sulli

 “She was…a selfless person.” Said Wonbin feeling his own chest tightening. “She…sacrificed her own happiness…just to see you safe…just to keep you from this world that is full of hate.”

Minho found Sulli in the arms of Wonbin. He followed them because he couldn’t stop worrying for Sulli…but seeing them like this calmed Minho.

He quickly looked away. This is something he will never get to have…a moment with his real father…

Minho went back to the house and saw everyone sleeping except for Uee.

“What are you doing?” asked Minho

“Cleaning.” Answered Uee “We’re just borrowing this place so it should be clean once we leave.”

“But you’re the only one doing it. You’re putting too much work on your shoulders.” said Minho

Sulli approached the door of the house. Wonbin behind her.

Why isn’t Sulli entering?

“All of you are men. None of you will think of cleaning. Naeun is injured. Sulli is emotionally not ready to think of cleaning. I am the only one left that has to think of doing this.” Said Uee

Wonbin took a step towards Sulli but Sulli raised her hand to stop Wonbin from moving any further.

Minho laughed.

“That’s cute.” Said Minho

Sulli clenched her hand. Did he just say… CUTE?!

“Cute?” asked Uee her brows rising “I am far from cute.”

That’s right Uee…push him away!

“That’s not true.” Said Minho “You are really cute Uee. You just focus on hunting too much that’s why you don’t see it.”

Is Minho flirting with Uee?! Sulli’s brows are closing in.

Wonbin grinned. Now he saw what’s happening.

“Nope, he never said I was cute.” thought Sulli.

 “No I don’t.” said Minho “I only say it when I mean it.”

Sulli entered the house with a loud bang on the door.

“Oh…sorry…” said Sulli and went straight to the room.

Wonbin then also entered the house.

“What happened to her, Master?” asked Uee

“Oh nothing…maybe she just got too happy to have a hunter Daddy.” Said Wonbin

“That’s definitely not it.” Minho knocked on Sulli’s door “Sulli…are you ok?”
