INSUNG'S GREAT SACRIFICE

“Can she also be a Half Demon-Half Demon Hunter?” asked Minho

Insung leaned his head on the bed post. His head has started to ache.

“My mother is a demon hunter… and I know you are not my real father Insung… when my mother died a few hundred years ago… something in me changed…something in me awakened…but nobody noticed…except you…did you honestly think I will not figure it out?” asked Minho “When my mother died…it triggered my demon blood to awaken. But nobody in the family could smell it…nobody knew I am a demon.”

“What did your mother tell you about your father?” asked Insung

“Nothing.” Said Minho “Because I had the misfortune of only realizing it after she died…I was never able to question her.”

“Then…the only person who could answer all your question has already died.” Said Insung

“But you know some details Insung.” Said Minho

Insung stood up. “Your mother was captured by demons a thousand years ago. We were just a few elite hunters then…me, Hye Kyo…your mother…and 2 others. We were then given the mission to find and eliminate the most powerful Demon clan…the clan that can’t be hunted…because they leave no demon smell. During that time…the Demon clan was separated into 2 sects…one that is under a male leader…and another that is led by the female ruler… In one of our hunts, me, your mother and Hye Kyo faced the group of the male ruled sect.”

“He was so strong…so strong that though the three of us were at our prime years…we could not kill him. Hye Kyo…was badly injured in that battle… that’s where her leg ended up that way… She almost died there. And I tried to protect her all the time…I couldn’t let her die there. But in doing so…your mother was captured.” Said Insung “I blamed myself for being useless…for being weak and powerless to protect everyone.”

Minho could see the pain all over Insung’s face as tears threatened to fall.

“I thought that’s the last I’ve seen of your mother, Minho. She was my bestfriend. We grew up together… though I loved Hye Kyo…your mother is important to me…like family.” Insung looked up to control his emotions. “And then we all mourned her death. No hunter will ever survive a demon as strong as that…demon hunters are the best meals for demons…So I vowed vengeance. And then I saw a trace of that male demon ruler…I hunted him…hunted him day and night…until I stood face to face with him…and killed him finally…Until one day… I saw your mother…knocking on my door…drenched in wet rain…but alive…and to my surprise…pregnant.” Said Insung

“I…took her in…she did not talk for a long time…whenever I asked her what happened…she will just cry.” Said Insung. “Hye Kyo and I were engaged already then…preparations for our wedding were under way…After the wedding, I planned to accept the head of the family role…But I couldn’t just let your mother end up that way…I needed to know what happened to her…I wanted to help her.” Said Insung. “One day… someone saw her in my house and told her how I slayed the male ruler demon for her. When I got back home, your mother was holding a knife against me.” Insung smiled at the memory. “Because we just both learned…that I killed…the father of her child.”

“The male demon ruler…is my father?” asked Minho

“A demon inside a hunters womb…what do you think will happen if someone in the clan knew about it? And you being that clan’s offspring…that man who made Hye Kyo that way…” asked Insung  “They will kill you…and your mother.”

“So you…stopped the wedding with Song Hye Kyo…and married my mother instead? You did not accept the head of the family role…to hide me and my mother…” said Minho shocked at the revelation.

Insung nodded.

“Hye Kyo…never understood why I called off the wedding… I hurt her…she hated me…and I can’t blame her…in her eyes…I committed a sin…in her eyes…I chose my bestfriend over her…in her eyes…I got your mother pregnant while we were still together…while I proposed marriage to her…while we prepared our wedding…for her…Everything I did was a lie…She even blamed herself and that demon clan… she thought that I abandoned our love because she’s imperfect…because she can no longer be the way she was.” said Insung

“Why did you do it? You…loved her… And I see you whenever she leaves…you…still are for the head.” Said Minho

“Because I had to choose my principles.That time I decided to take my stand. I won’t let them kill a hunter woman…more so a pregnant woman… And I won’t let them kill a helpless baby just because you had demon blood.” Said Insung “I chose to fight for my principles Minho. And I chose to protect the family that way.”

“By taking me and my mother away from the family…by building the first family branch away from the family home….that was your way to protect everyone.” Said Minho

Insung nodded.

“I killed your father Minho…I am the hunter who killed him.” Said Insung

Minho clenched his hand…he should be mad…angry…he should be transforming now…into the demon inside him… But he can’t…Minho is also a hunter…he knows Insung did what he had to do…
