I Thought

Ghost Love

[Soomi]

When we arrived at 2PM's dorm, Eunhee wasn't there yet. Lysel looked at Jay confused then I remembered I was holding onto his wrist, she might be wondering why his hands are floating. I quickly let go of Jay's hand and he pushed Lysel inside the house. I was right behind them and they walked towards the couch.

“So much for food” Lysel teased.

“Lysel you're not going to like who's going to be knocking at that door soon.” Jay said to Lysel while holding onto her hand. Lysel was confused as ever then the knock came.

Eunhee was banging on the door like a maniac. Jay stood up and walked over to the door. He opened the door with Eunhee smiling like an idiot in front of him.

That hasn't changed one bit. Her hair still long, she still dresses like an old lady with a touch of teenager style; she looks disgusting. She grew a little taller than me though, she's not even wearing high heels and she's taller than Jay. It made me giggle a little causing Jay to glare at me. I lifted my hand in surrender and he just smirked.

“Who is it?” Lysel asked looking over Jay's shoulder. Her eyes squinted when she saw a glimpse of Eunhee's face. I heard her heart beating faster, she was scared of Eunhee. I wish Lysel could see me so I could tell her that there's nothing to be afraid of, this witch can't fight for crap.

“Hi Jay it's been awhile. I see you're still the same, never settles for one girl” Eunhee greeted followed by an insult while looking over Jay's shoulder. Jay rolled his eyes then Lysel walked over his side. He then places his hand over Lysel's shoulder making Eunhee smile for no reason.

“Hi Eunhee, meet my bestfriend Lysel” Jay replied. Eunhee's eyes widened followed by her 'killer' smile; my sister used to call it. Until now I still don't get why it's called her killer smile I mean there's nothing special about it, besides her dimples and stuff but other than that she looks like an ordinary hoe.

“Oh I remember you! We've met once before right?” she continued while eyeing Lysel up and down. Lysel was nervous as ever, I was feeling sorry for her. I walked over to where she was and placed my hand on top of her shoulder. I just wanted to calm her down; I don't know if she can feel it. I felt all the nerves in her body calming down, the rate of her heart slowed down. When I know she was going to be alright I stood next to Jay again, Eunhee was still eyeing Lysel but her nerves have calmed down.

“Yeah I guess we have, what brings you here?” Lysel said confidently.

“I came to see Junho, aren't you going to invite me inside?”

This girl has some guts to come barging inside 2PM's dorm looking for her ex-boyfriend, who, she clearly left to go along with a far “better” man. Oh, GOD please just one time let me kick her .

“He's not home” Jay said.

“Can I wait here then?” Eunhee asked forcefully.

“We're about to leave actually and plus I don't think my boyfriend would want to see you again so it's better if you just don't come back” Lysel replied fiercely.

“You go girl” I suddenly said out loud causing Jay to release a little smirk in his face. If only you could see the way this guy smirks your heart will beat 10 times its average rate. He's just lucky I don't have a heartbeat because if I do, he would realise that every time he smirks at me it makes my heart beat... thank heavens I don't have a heartbeat.

“So you're Junho's new playmate?” Eunhee said making Junho sound like the bad guy. I felt Lysel tensed up, Jay tightened his grip around her shoulder calming her down but it wasn't working because she was pissed but just how stupid this girl is. I would be pissed too, as if talk about the guy she left two years ago the way she just did. She makes it seem like Junho was the one who left her and she's the victim.

“Jay don't hold Lysel back, let her rip this girls hair off!” I said angrily. Jay just smiled sending confusion in Eunhee's face. I wish I can touch her right now, when I placed my hand on Lysel's shoulder she could only feel cold wind passing her.

“Playmate? Last time I checked he's not the playing type, you were” Lysel attacked. Eunhee's smirking face turned into an angry one, I couldn't help but laugh. She hated hearing the truth.

“Just tell Junho I dropped by. Oh and by the way I'll be seeing you around” she said while eyeing Jay then walking away.

'I'll be seeing you around?' I thought to myself. I don't like the sound of that; something is definitely up with this girl.

“JAY ASK HER HOW?” I yelled at Jay.

“YAH, what do you mean I'll be seeing you around?” Jay asked rudely which was alright because a rude person shouldn't be treated nicely.

“Haven't they told you yet? Starting tomorrow I'll be your new manager since your old manager is quitting” she replied happily. All our mouths dropped open and Eunhee just laughed.

“Hyung is quitting?”

“Looks like it. Oh, look at the time I have to go for a meeting with JYP so I'll be seeing you later. Bye Bye” Eunhee said and waved goodbye. Lysel's calmed system was starting to crumble down again, I really felt sorry for her. This Eunhee, she knows nothing but messing up someone's life. I really don't understand what she wants this time.

“Lysel its Okays, we'll discuss this with Junho later on. Let's go out for a drink” Jay offered. Lysel's face lit up by idea of drowning herself with alcohol. Lysel walked back inside the house to grab her cardigan. I whacked Jay across the head as soon as she was out of sight.

“What?” he whispered.

“Why did you offer her to drink?”

“Don't worry its fun, you can come too.” He said while smiling then Lysel came out.

“Were you just talking to someone?” she asked.

“I was singing” Jay excused. I couldn't help but laugh at just how serious he was. Lysel linked her arms with Jay then they were off to drink.

. . . . . .

We arrived at this small store where all the alcoholics were. I don't even know where this place was but Lysel and Jay seemed to be so familiar with this place.

“Jay how long have you been coming here?” I asked hoping he could answer me.

“2 years” he answered.

“HUH?” Lysel said confused.

“I just remembered we've been coming here for 2 years. You found this place when you were looking for a job. Ever since then every time we have troubles about so much things we would come here and just drink our hearts out. We would swear at whoever tells us to stop drinking and you would try to act humble and say sorry but then when they are gone you would swear at them like there's no tomorrow” Jay replied answering my question.

Both kids have been through so much, I can't imagine what they would be without each other.

“Yes I remember those days. There this one night I'll never forget and I'm sure you won't too” Lysel said and her face turned red. Jay stared at her then at me but without Lysel noticing.

“Let's not go there” he said while covering Lysel's mouth.

“Why not? It's not like anyone's around” she said after biting Jay's hand.

“You'll never know who's listening nowadays” Jay said. I stuck my tongue out at him and he rolled his tiny eyes.

“It was one hell of a night!” Lysel continued.

“LYSEL STOP!” Jay demanded.

“Why are you getting so angry? You always use it against me though whenever I would not cover up for you.”

“Yeah but I don't want to talk about it”

“Since when?”

“Since now” Jay replied and Lysel finally gave up.

“To finding a way to get rid of Eunhee” Lysel said while lifting her beer making Jay chuckled.

“Cheers to that. I know someone who would like the idea too” he said and smiled.

I smiled back and I listened to them reminisce about the times they had together and the hardships they went through to keep each other alive.

I envy Lysel for having the opportunity to see Jay cry when everything else is collapsing on him. I envy her for being the best friend she is, I envy her because she watched Jay pulled through every obstacles that came his way. I was jealous of her and never have I been jealous of a girl over a guy. I guess Jay is taking a hold on me... well a part of me anyway.

[Jay]

I watched once again as Lysel drown her misery with bottles of beer. She's a strong girl but sometimes I like taking her here, it makes her feel better. Soomi was watching and listening to us exchange stories, I could swear on anything I saw a tear form in her eyes. Her reactions showed signs of hurt and pain, she must be feeling sorry for Lysel for everything she's been through just to get Junho say I love you too.

“Lysel, that's enough” I said when I saw the 13TH bottle of empty beer. I took out the money and paid for all the food we ate and drank. I carried her behind my back then headed out to wait for a taxi.

“She's been through a lot huh?” Soomi said while trying to take the hair off Lysel's face but she couldn't. I couldn't but smile at how cute she looked. The wind was somehow blowing her hair and her dress seems to be dancing back and forth. Her innocent face was just too cute, I didn't realise that I was staring at her until she cleared .

“You alright there?” she asked. I nodded my head and waited for a taxi to come.

. . . . .

“Sleep tight you silly girl, I'll stay with you. I'll be in the living room when you wake up okay? Sleep tight” I whispered to Lysel who was probably deep asleep by now because of all the beer she drunk. I kissed her on the forehead and headed outside the living room. Soomi was sitting/floating on the couch, I made the tinniest sound and she turned head quickly. She smiled at me and gestured for me to sit down next to her.

I walked over to her side and the presence was colder than ever.

“What's wrong?” I asked her.

“Nothing why?” she replied.

“Your presence seems colder than usual, it's worrying me” I suddenly blurted out. Great, she must think I'm a freak worrying about a stalker-ghost.

“Worried about me? I'm a soul Jay, I told you not to worry about me” she answered then laughed.

Her laughed echoed in my ears, it was soothing. It was really nice, I couldn't help but smile.

“You know you're scaring me with these random smiles” she said.

“Can't I smile now?”

“No you can but you're weird” she said.

“You're a floating girl and I'm weird?” I teased.

“Very funny, you know I'm amazed you're still sober, I mean how many bottles you drank all to yourself?” she attacked.

“I don't know I don't keep count” I replied and turned the TV on. I saw an episode of Wild Bunny playing; I completely forgot that for the last couple of days they have been replaying Season 1 of Wild Bunny. It's the episode where I was MC-ing for our Photo shoot; episode 2.

Watching this makes me laugh all the time, especially Wooyoung's photos. How the hell can a guy be so cute yet so hilarious? I was too focused on the TV that I forgot that Soomi was sitting next to me. She was laughing, almost crying just by watching us boys. She really does look so cute when she laughs, I just wish I know the reason why I can't really see her as Soomi Heo.

“Jay seriously is there something wrong with my face?” She asked when she realised I was staring at her again.

“Nothing, your face is perfect” I replied.

I saw 'embarrassed' written all over her face. I should probably be embarrassed too; I mean what I am saying.

“By the way, what was Lysel talking about when you both were drinking?”

“Which one?” I asked.

“The night she'll never forget” she answered. I started laughing to myself at how embarrassing that story is. Soomi waited for me to answer her, I didn't want to tell her but I couldn't help myself.

“She told me she loved me” I replied.

“That's all and you didn't want me to know it?”

“Loser! She told me if she wasn't so in love with Junho she will definitely be in love with me then she said 'I love you Jay'. She didn't know what she was saying but somehow she remembered saying it the next morning. She was embarrassed as hell but it was cool, I used it against her whenever I was on the verge of getting in trouble and she would always cover up for me” I explained and she had a smile on, making me stare at her again.

“Stop it Jay” she said.

“Stop what?”

“Staring at me, go to sleep” she commanded.

“Are you going to be here when I wake in the morning?”

“Do you want me to be here when you wake up in the morning?” she answered my question with a question.

“Yes. Could I count on you to be here?”

“Why would you want me to be here?”

“Because... you calm me down” I said and a smile formed in her face. She nodded her head then flicked me on my forehead. She looked so cute trying to act cute. I really couldn't help but stare at her, if you were a guy and you were in my position you would feel the same way as I do. It's true, I have fallen in love with her... but wasn't that a bit too quick?

“Get some sleep loser. Turn the TV off” she said. I did what she asked and turned the TV off. Silence was taking over us; she unfolded the couch so I could make it as a bed. I placed my head on top of Soomi's lap and I saw her confused face.

“I don't have a pillow” I said excusing my actions.

She just smiled at me and I felt her tensed up. The room was so quiet then I heard a little thump. I quickly stood up almost panicking, I looked at Soomi and she was as confused as me.

“Did you hear that?” I asked.

“Hear what?”

“You can hear me whisper anything low but that little sound you didn't hear?”

“What little sound?”

“Never mind” I said and laid my head back down on her lap.

I was thinking about her even though she was just right there. I could just tell her everything I want to say but somehow I just can't. Yes I know I'm the type of guy who just says anything but with her I just can't tell her what I want to say to her. I was too busy thinking about her then I heard the sound again.

I stood up once more and stared at Soomi. It sounded like it was coming from her.

“What...?!” she said but I covered with my hand waiting for the sound to come again but nothing.

“What are you hearing?” she asked me.

“I don't know too but I thought... I heard your heart beat.” I said and her eyes widened.
