CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

I was currently editing some pictures on my laptop when I got a call from my boss. I immediately answered it, "Yoboseyo? Ms. Lee?" I nodded my head carefully and listened to my boss' instructions.

"Ahh, Jenny-shi. I hope I didn't disturb you or anything? I was kind of hoping for you to come in my place later. It's a meeting with your past client, Choi Seunghyun. We have offered him another project for the next month's front page issue." I blinked in surprise.

With Seunghyun? Could I really deal with him when I just shouted at him yesterday? I let out a quiet sigh and nodded, "Uhm, sure, Ms. Lee. Don't worry, I'm quite honored that you asked me to do that instead." It's true. It's always the job of the chief editor to decide the concept of the front page issue for every month, while I'm just a photographer.

"It's because I can totally see potential in you, Jenny-shi. Your last project was fantastic and I was hoping you and Seunghyun-shi will be comfortable around each other since you've been paired up for photography sessions a couple of times." I smiled at her compliment. It is truly an honor to work with such an influence like her.

"Oh, thank you, Ms. Lee. I promise I'll do my best for coming up with concepts for the next issue." I stated professionally, swiftly ignoring her last comment and I hope she didn't mind. She chuckled on the other line and gave me a motherly answer, "Don't worry about a thing. My team will be there to guide you, neh? It's just up to you if you like the concept that they will be coming up for. Have fun, neh?"

I smiled and giggled, "Neh, thanks again, Ms. Lee!" With that, she hummed and then hung up on me. Honestly, my insides are jumping since she gave me yet another extraordinary project aside from being a photographer. I've always wanted to try this, and now that she gave me the chance, I won't let it slip away.

The only problem is... the model I'm going to be working with is no one other than Choi Seunghyun. The guy I hate as of the moment. I sighed and shook my head, "Be professional in terms of work, Jenny. Separate your personal lives to work." I tried to convince myself and chanted encouraging words continuously. I stood up from the carpet and walked upstairs. I still continued to chant encouragements in my head until I reached my room.  I puffed my cheeks and shook my head.

"I just have to be professional. Don't be awkward." I nodded and went to the bathroom to have a shower. Once I was done, I went to my walk-in closet and dressed up rather differently. I have no idea what has gotten into me, but maybe because I was going to the Vogue building for a different purpose.

I was just a transfer head-photographer, now, I'm assigned to be in place of the chief editor. This is just too cool to be true.

I took my black leather blazer and looked at myself at the mirror inside my closet. I puffed my cheeks as I divided my hair in half and laid it on my shoulders, letting my long hair flow down on my chest. My outfit was becoming similar to Dara's, I guess. I shrugged and walked out of my room and walked downstairs.

I knelt down on the carpet and saved my edits and turned off my laptop. I stood up, cleaning my knees from the dust, and then checked the surroundings of the house to make sure I didn't leave anything else on. When I was done checking, I walked out of the door and locked the front door.

I checked my wrist watch and bit my lip, "Shoot, I have to run."

Remembering that I was wearing these heels, I sighed in regret. Nevertheless, I still ran to the bus stop, knowing it would arrive anytime soon. And I was right, once I stepped foot in the waiting shed, the bus arrived. I heaved a relieved sigh because I came just in time.

I walked inside the bus and smiled at the driver.

I sat down on one of the empty seats at the back and looked out the window. As I stared at the window, I couldn't help but ogle at Seunghyun's bulletin board just outside a building the bus passed by on. I sighed and shook my head, "I still don't understand why he would treat his mother like that."

I leaned my head on the window of the bus and sighed once again. I couldn't help but ponder about my childhood. It makes me wonder why I don't remember anything. It's weird, right? It'
