Sungyeol had finally decided on a small family-run restaurant at the side of town, and you agreed it was a good place since you’d never been there before. You dressed yourself up casually, but with just a bit more effort than usual, which actually proved to make a big difference.

Your mom walked past your bathroom and peered in.

“May I ask what you’re getting ready for?”

You didn’t really know how to tell her, since you’d never been asked out before.

“Um… I’m meeting a friend for dinner.”

She made an unsure face at you.

“Then we’re discussing our calculus homework for Wednesday.”

“Uh..huh… well, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get so dressed up for some calculus homework.”

You sighed.

“Okay, I’m meeting a friend for dinner because he asked me out.”

She instantly rebounded with a reaction you weren’t hoping for.

“Ohhhhh honey~ that’s so great! What’s his name? Is he nice?”

“No, mom, he’s a complete , that’s why I’m going to dinner with him.”

She glared at you for a second.

“Do you want a lift, or not.”

“Yes, mom. He’s nice.”

“Alright. Well let me know when you’re ready.”
