My Thanks

I dare you Zelo! Just try and get me!

Lunch ended minutes later, and I was dragged to class by Daehyun, who told me to leave Zelo with the school nurses. Even though I wanted to stay by his side, Daehyuns' suggestion sounded more practical, so I followed him to class. The whole school seemed to be buzzing. Questions being asked, left, right and center along with various accusations. People seemed to be very worried about Zelo. That was a good thing.

I sat down at my desk and put my head down. There had been too much excitement for me in one day, and I smelt like kimchi and sausage. Daehyun pulled out the chair next to me and sat down at it.

"Are you okay?" He asked. I raised my head and nodded. *People should stop asking me that. Zelo is the one that got hit with the boiling soup.*

"I'm fine," I muttered. "But Zelo..." Daehyun patted my shoulder and gave me a comforting smile.

"Don't worry about it," He smiled. "He knew what he was doing. Or at least I hoped he did." I lowered my head and looked at the table. Hopefully, he was going to be okay. Hopefully, everything would be fine soon. Our teacher came in after a few minutes and we all pulled out our Social Studies jotters. These were blue and supposed to be full of notes, mine however, had little comics and drawings everywhere. Social Studies was one of my least favourite subjects. Daehyun seemed to also dislike this subject as he sighed dramatically as his jotter landed on the on the floor by our table, like a demonstration that he was not going to do any work.

"Daehyun, pick up your jotter," The teacher said. Groaning quietly to himself, Daehyun leaned to the side and picked up his jotter. "Where's Junhong?" I raised my head, but Daehyun spoke before I could say anything.

"He's at the school nurse." He explained simply. Mrs Lee nodded and picked up the phone, most likely to phone the school nurse about Zelo, to confirm Daehyun's story. Daehyun seemed to notice that too as he scoffed quietly to himself and shook his head. "She doesn't believe me?"

"Clearly not." I chuckled and leaned back in my seat, twirrling my pen. I scratched the back of my head as Mrs Lee put down the classroom phone.

"Junhong has gone home," She explained. "So his parents can look after him." I nodded slowly and opened my jotter as our teacher opened a textbook, looking for the page we were going to work from today. *Hopefully Zelo will get better* I thought worriedly to myself. I wrote the date at the top of a blank page and got ready to learn the really boring facts of society. But all that time, I had a tugging feeling in my head, like I was sub-conciously trying to remember something important. But I couldn't find it.

"The way the economic path of our society is heading, can often be determind by looking at past even-"

"Will your parents mind me being here?" I asked. Zelo chuckled slightly and turned to look at me.

"I doubt it," He said. "Seeing as they don't live here."

"You...live alone?" I asked, wondering how childish Zelo could possibly live on his own. I couldn't live on my own yet. I still needed my family.

"Yup," He explained. "My parents gave me this apartment so that I could come to school here and they could still work away."

"Oh..." My Zelo did live alone. And had been for quite a long time by the sound of it. He didn't seem so childish anymore. "Somehow, that makes me see you diferently."

"Zelo doesn't live with his parents." I said out loud. Daehyun looked at me, his eyes wide with realisation. "There is no-one to look after him." I sat forward, thinking of various possible tactics of helping Zelo. *Do I phone the hospital? Do I break into the school office and search for his parents in the student data base? Do I run out the school?* Only the first and last ones seemed practical.

"Go to him." Daehyun said to me. I turned and looked at the gangster flower boy beside me.

"What?"

"You go look after him," He ordered me. "I'll cover for you here." I looked up to the teacher and to Daehyun.

"Are you sure?" I had never walked out of school before, so I wasn't sure... Daehyun seemed to hear the uncertainty in my voice.

"Zelo just protected you from hot soup," He muttered. "The least you could do is help him out now. You know where he lives right?" I nodded and closed my jotter.

"Then go!" I stood up and swung my backpack over my shoulder.  Mrs Lee looked at me with a confused expression. I bowed to her and to the rest of my classmates who were staring at me with confused and curious expressions.

"I'm very sorry!" I exclaimed to them all. "I really must go!" And as quickly as I could, I left the classroom. As I walked down the corridor, I realised it was going to be much more difficult to actually leave the school grounds. The gates were always locked. *Damn* I walked into the dining hall which was near the front door. I could atleast go into the grounds, perhaps there was another exit somewhere else. Like over a wall. Using my student ID code, I opened the front door of the school and headed outside into the grounds.

The weather had been getting hotter lately. The bright midday sun shone directly above me and I felt my forehead really getting hot. I rolled up the sleeves of my cardigan and ed the buttons. It was too hot. Carefull and quickly, I searched for an exit to the school. There was one round the back  and there was the one in front of me, which looked like it was guarded by seniors. I walked forward, and cautiously turned a corner - walking right into someone.

"Sorry. Sorry." I said, bowing to the person in front of me. To my surprise the person just laughed deeply.

"Didn't we first meet like this?" I looked up and saw Yongguk grinning at me.

"Sunbae..."

"What are you doing out of class?" He asked, leaning against the wall. "I'm on actual, serious guarding stuff here." I looked at his skeptically. But, no matter how much Yongguk didn't look like he knew what he was doing, it was probably in my best intrest to tell him the truth.

"I need to see Zelo." I admitted. Yongguk frowned at me.

"Isn't he in school?" He asked, guesturing to the building beside us. I shook my head.

"He got sent home so his parents can look after him."

"Oh ..." Yongguk muttered. "So he's going to have no bloody clue what to do with a burn is he?"

"Probably not, he might put a plaster on it, knowing Zelo."

"Well, let's get you out of here." Yongguk tugged on my arm and led me to the front gate, which I had been trying to avoid. It turned out to be guarded by Himchan and some other senior I didn't know. Yongguk nodded to the other guy who looked at me curiously. I bowed to him slightly to be polite and then looked at Himchan. "She needs to see Zelo."

"Isn't Zelo in the school?" Himchan asked, pointing back up the path to the school.

"He got sent home." The other guy said.

"Are you serious?" Himchan shook his head and looked at me. I nodded. "Well, that won't do...go save him Super Hana!" I smiled at Himchan who turned to unlock the gate with the gate code. His classmate didn't seem sure about his desicion.

"Are you just going to let her out?" He asked.

"Yah! Shiyoon! This is an emergancy!" Yongguk said to him. The senior - Shiyoon - nodded but frowned at me slightly.

"I know," He said. "But we'll lose this responsability if the school doesn't approve of it!"

"Please Shiyoon sunbae!" I exclaimed, as I realised we were wasting time. "Please let me go. I'll explain everything to the teachers and make sure you can keep your position here."

"Hmmm...." Shiyoon said. I could see he was debating about this, not sure whether or not to let me out. Then Himchan spoke.

"She'll call you 'oppa' from now on! Shiyoon oppa, she'll call you that. And she'll do it with aegyo." He said. Both Shiyoon and I looked at Himchan with a slightly shocked expressison.

"Deal." He said smiling slightly. He nodded to Himchan to open the gate and smiled to me. I was quite surprised. *Why on earth would he wanted to be called oppa by me?* But I couldn't really care right now, I was just happy to be able to leave. I practically ran out of the gates and turned to wave goodbye to the others.

"Thank you!" I called to them as I walked down the street towards the metro stop. "Himchan, Yongguk...and Shiyoon oppa!" And I turned and walked quickly down the road. When I reached the metro stop, I bought my ticket and thankfully, I didn't need to wait to long as the metro came up quite soon. As I stepped on, I got a lot of bad looks from the ahjumma's and ahjussi's, who all knew that I was suppossed to be in school. I looked straight forward out the window, thought I could still feel peoples eyes on me.

"Why are you not at school?" An old lady scolded me. I turned my head to see her shouting at me from a few seats down. "Have you no respect for your parents who work hard for you to attend there?" I couldn't think of a response. What could I have said to her? No?

"Watch who you're talking to!" Another lady shouted back, defending me. "My granddaughter has done nothing wrong!" I turned to this lady, who beckoned me over. I walked to her, and sat down in the seat next to her.

"Thank you Granny." I said, playing along.

"Where is your curley haired friend?" She asked. "The one who helped your leg?" I looked at the ahjumma, suddenly recognising her as the one who gave Zelo the first aid kit, when I had tripped.

"He is at home," I explained to her. "It is my turn to help him out." The granny nodded and patted me on the head like I was her own grandchild.

"You are a caring friend. He is too. You should look after each other." She said to me.

"We will." I confirmed.

"Of course I don't reccommed you dating while you're at school," She added. "But when you are in university, make sure he is you boyfriend okay?! Since he has started out so caring, he will be good for you. You can make him the best person got it? So you better be a couple! I will be checking up on you, understand?!"

"I'm not sure that-"

"Understand!"

"Yes!" I said, panicing slightly. "I understand." Granny smiled a warm, wrinkly smile at me and looked out the window.

"His stop is next." She pointed out. I nodded and stood up.

"Granny?" I asked. "Do you know any good cures for burns?" Granny looked forward, in a moment of thinking and then dove into her large handbag. She pulled out a blue tube and handed it to me.

"Perfect for burns." She said.

"Thank you very much granny," I said as I got of the metro. "Goodbye." She waved at me and I bowed back. I turned and looked down the busy Seoul shopping district. "And there's Dunkin' Donuts." Following the same path that I took only a few days ago, I headed quickly to Zelo's apartment, being careful not to run this time. If I passed out again, I'd be no good to anyone. But I still went as quickly as I could. Holding the cream in my hand, I moved swiftly through the crowds of people and headed towards Zelo's apartment complex. Sooner then I thought, I had reached the front door and happily realised that the elevator was working now. Stepping inside, I pressed the button to go to the 24th floor and I seemingly slowly climbed up.

"You stupid elevator," I snapped, hitting the side of it impatiently. "I'd be quicker walking!" I reached floor 24 eventually and stepped out the elevator to the floor. I stood outside Zelo's door and took a deep breath. My heart was racing much faster then usual. *This is not the time to be like this!* I tried to calm my heart and I knocked on the door. There was no immediate answer. After a few seconds, I knocked again. This time I heard someone mess with the lock. I turned to the side and saw the vioce speaker machine. *Why didn't I use that?* I faced palmed myself as the door opened. Zelo peered his head around the door, without showing his body.

"H-Hana?" He stuttered when he saw me. "Why are you here? Why are you not at school?"

"I came to help you," I smiled, holding up the cream. "I owe you right?"

"H-Help? I'm fine." Zelo winced.

"You're clearly not," I sighed. "Let me put this cream on you okay? Then I can go." Zelo gave in and opened the door wider so I could come inside. Zelo closed the door and when I turned to look at him, I saw he wasn't wearing a top. Not. Wearing. A.Top. I automatically spun around quickly and took my shoes off. I hadn't seen a topless boy before in real life. Only in dramas. I felt a blush growing on my face as I turned around to face Zelo again. Who still wasn't wearing a top. *Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my* He didn't have any defined abs or muscles yet, but it was still clear he had been working out. The fact that I could tell this made me blush even more. I looked at Zelo's face and noticed that he was blushing too.

"It...hurts to wear a top." He explained shyly. I nodded slowly in understanding and took of my school bag, putting it on the floor by the door. I looked at his read shoulder and arm and instantly felt guilty.

"Go sit down," I said, poiting to the living room. "I'll help you this time, okay?" Zelo nodded slightly. After picking a bowl from the kitchen and filling it up with cold water, then getting a soft cloth I walked with Zelo into the living room. The living room was just like I remembered, pale, empty and well furnished. Compaired to my cosy home, his seemed quite lonely. It made me feel bad. Zelo sat on a white foot stool. I placed the bowl down on the floor and I looked around. His jumper, shirt and bag had been thrown across the floor. I kneeled down on the floor beside Zelo and dipped the cloth into the water.

"Will it hurt?" Zelo asked. My heart leapt for him.

"It might sting a bit." I held the the cloth to his pale skin and dabbed the redness gently. Zelo winced as the cold water touched his skin. I felt slightly envious of his milky white skin. I wiped his skin carefully, almost hypnotised by him. I couldn't help but stare at him. Thankfully, I was behind him. *It would be bad if he could see my face* I thought, still feeling the heat there. I moved to the side and did the same to his arm. But then I had to clean his chest. I hesitated slightly, my heart pounded against my ribcage. With ragged breathing, I dabbed his chest with the cold cloth. Zelo closed his eyes and breathed slowly. "I'm sorry."

"For what?" Zelo asked, opening his eyes. I put the cloth back in the bowl and sighed.

"I feel this is my fault," I said, holding up the cream. "I'm going to put this on now."

"Okay," He nodded. "But it's not your fault. Don't even think it is." I opened the tube of cream and put some onto my hands and the rubbed it onto his back.

"It is though..." I said sadly. "I shouldn't have-" Zelo turned around suddenly, and grabbed my wrists, making me look at him.

"Shouldn't have what?" He asked me sternly. "I would do that again you know. I would take the bowl of soup 500 more times if it meant you wouldn't get hurt." I looked at Zelo with wide eyes. *Would he really?* He shook me slightly. "You don't believe me do you?" I dropped my head and tried to look at the floor, but all I could see was Zelo's long legs. "I would. Honestly." I looked up at him, trying to see if there was anything in his eyes. He looked sincere.

I nodded my head as Zelo let go of my wrists. I needed to put more cream on his burns. Which meant I needed to touch his chest again. I put the cold cream on my hand and rubbed my hands together. Holding my hand up, I checked with Zelo to know if it was okay to touch him, He nodded slightly, so I put the cream on him. He shivered slightly.

"Is it cold?" I asked him. He nodded his head and smiled slightly.

"Yes. And your hands are soft, it tickles a bit." He explained.

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying that," Zelo muttered. "Your apologising is driving me crazy!" I smiled at him and took my hand away. I wiped my hands clean and then took the bowl back into the kitchen. I looked around the kitchen and then I walked back. Zelo was standing in the living room.

"Should I go now?" I asked. "You need to get some rest." I pointed behind be and was about to leave when Zelo came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him. He buried his head in my shoulder.

"Don't go yet," He murmered. "I don't want you to go." I felt a shiver go through my body and my heart race increased so quickly. I nodded to him and he pulled away. "I will rest though. Follow me." He led me up the hallway to a large room. There was a large bed in the middle, a desk and a wardrobe. There was also a armchair in the corner with a few pillows on it. Zelo went to the wardrobe and pulled out a large, loose t-shirt. Then he stood up and smiled.

"I will sleep in here okay?" He grinned. "But I only promise to sleep if you promise not to go."

"I won't go." I said. Zelo lay down on his bed. "I'm going to tidy a bit." I said, thinking of his clothes on the living room floor. He nodded and closed his eyes, just before I left. When in the living room, I picked up Zelo's shirt and jumper and put them into the washing machine. Then I quietly walked into his room. He seemed to be asleep. "He must have been tired." I whispered to myself.

Letting my curiosity get the better of me, I looked around his room a bit more. Hanging up outside the wardrobe was one of Zelo's school jumpers that smelt very similar to the washing up powder we used at home. *Is that the one he lent me?* I wondered as I continued looking around. On the wall by the desk was the drawing I'd drew of him ages ago. There were also photos'. Two of him and his friends and one of him and some people I assumed were his parents. I turned around and saw that on the floor, there was a big pile of drama's and manga's. All with the genre of romance. *Well...that says something about him.* I smiled.

"Hana..." I spun around at the sound of Zelo's voice. He was still sleeping in his bed. "Idiot..."

"What?" I gasped. "Did he just call me an idiot? In his sleep." I walked over to his bed and sat on the floor so I watch him. He looked so cute, sleeping there like a child.

"Let me....feel..my heart..." I listened to Zelo's half sentences and frowned.

"You can feel you heart Zelo." I whispered to him. I smiled and leaned forward, watching him peacefully.

ZELO'S P.O.V

I woke up a few hours later. It was darker outside, but my room still looked quite light. I sat up and pulled the edge of my t-shirt. I felt quite cold, so I turned to get out of bed to turn the heating up. Then I saw Hana. She was sleeping on the floor by my bed, still in her uniform. My precious Hana, who had come to help me. Beautiful, caring Hana. She was curled on the floor, the skirt of her uniform, not keeping her warm. Carefully, I picked her up and put her on the other side of my bed. It had to be more comfortable.

BUZZ BUZZ.

My phone started ringing. I picked it up of the desk and looked at the number. Unknown.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Choi Junhong? Is that you?" A voice said.

"Yes," I replied formally. "Who is this?"

"I am Mr Park, Hana's father."

"Oh."

"Is my daughter with you?"

"Yes sir, she has fallen asleep though."

"She is asleep?"

"She's asleep?" I heard another voice say, it sounded like Mrs Park, Hana's mum. "Give me the phone. Junhong? Is that you?"

"Yes miss."

"Is Hana really sleeping?"

"Yes." I answered. "Do you want me to wake her up?"

"No," She said. "Let her sleep. Look after her okay?"

"I will," I smiled to myself, happy that her family seemed to trust me. "Should I bring her home when she wakes up or should I wait until tomorrow?"

"Wait until tomorrow."

"Can I speak to him?" Mr Park said. "Junhong?"

"Yes?"

"Look after my daughter please," He requested. "Treat her well, but don't upset her, if you understand what I mean."

"No sir! I would never do anything to upset her."

"Good good. I'll let you go now."

"Thank you," I said. "Although, how did you get my number? If you don't mind me asking."

"Hana has your number on a sticky note on her desk."

"Oh...That's fine."

"Right, goodbye Junhong."

"Goodbye."

"Oh...it's a heart shaped one, if that means anything to you. Goodbye." And he hung up. *Hana has my number on a heart shaped sticky note?* I smiled to myself and I put my phone back down. I turned and looked at Hana, who was sleeping peacefully on my bed. I sat on my bed, not sure of what to do. *Should I sleep on the bed? Or should I sleep in the living room? But it's cold in there. It won't matter if we share a bed right? As long as we keep apart. But it is a big bed so...* I lay down on the bed and looked at Hana. She looked so pretty, sleeping there. I wanted to touch her hair and kiss her, but I couldn't, I promised not to upset her. I turned away from her and faced the door, getting ready to sleep.

Then I felt Hana wrap her arms around me, hugging me from behind. She was so warm, as she leaned her head against my back.

"Oppa..." She muttered. A smile slowly grew on my face, as I heard what she said. My heart sped up and I couldn't slow it.
