It was the day of the Star King recording and Nicky was not too happy about it. She ended up not wearing a dress but she looked beautiful anyway. “Noona! Manager hyung is here!” said Ryeowook hanging up his phone. “I’m ready, I’m ready! Let’s go!” she answered coming out of her room. The boys were gathered in the living room waiting for her. Only Ryeowook, Shindong and Eunhyuk were going to the show with her but some of the other guys were in the dorm as well.  “You pretty!” said Eunhyuk excited. “Thanks Hyukie! A good impression must be made!” she said.  “Don’t be cute with men” said Kyuhyun in a scolding way. “I’ll treat them the way I treat you!” she answered pointing at him.  “Poor guy!” said Shindong and they all laugh.

“Guys! Remember your schedules. Please, don’t be late! And behave as if I was with you!” she said grabbing her phone and checking it. “Oh! Michelle is on her way to the studio, we must go. Bye Juniors!” she said waving and left with Shindong, Eunhyuk and Ryeowook.

At the studio, Michelle explain to her all the things that were going to happen. Three guys were going to be behind a curtain. She must ask them questions and decide on one of them just by their answers. “I can’t see them?” Nicky asked surprised. “No, that’s the fun of it! You must chose according to their answers. That way you’ll have things in common” Michelle said. “ Oh boy! “ Nicky said worried.

The show started and the MC said hello to the 3 participants; they all responded with distorted voices. “What’s wrong with the voices?” Nicky asked Michelle who sitting was next to her to translate. “I don’t know! They told me you weren’t suppose to hear their voices either. That way you will chose based only on their answers.” Michelle explained. “This is getting weirder by the minute!” said Nicky.

They all answered Nicky’s questions, some answers were funny and others just plain naughty and everybody laughed a lot. Ryeowook, Shindong and Eunhyuk would comment from the audience from time to time to make sure the participants didn’t get to over the top with the answers.  “Nicky-sshi! It is time to pick a winner!” the MC said and the audience applauded. “Okay, um…..this is going to be hard!” she said while Michelle translated.  “Chose wisely! Remember that you are going together to have dinner and then to the Seoul Tower . Tonight!” the MC added.  “Fine, fine! Michelle, help me! Which one?” she asked Michelle. “Oh no! Is your decision! Think of their answers!” Michelle said.

“Well then, I think that the one with most things in common with me is…….number 2” Nicky said smiling. “Number 2!!!! Said the MC and the audience cheered.  “But before seeing your lucky date, you will meet the guys that didn’t make it. Contestant number 1 come out please!”  the MC added.

Out of the curtain came Yesung and the audience went crazy. “What?!?!?!” said Nicky when she saw him.  He bowed to her and stood next to the MC. “Can they do that??” she asked Michelle who was just as surprised as her. “Apparently!” Michelle added. “Contestant number 3 come out please!” said the MC and Heechul came out of the curtain. The audience kept clapping and laughing. “Yah! Why you didn’t pick me!!” Heechul said to Nicky while she was laughing.  “Oh my God!!!!!! What is this???? I’m scare to know who I picked!” Nicky said really embarrassed.  “And now! The winner! Contestant number 2 come out please!!!!!!!!!!” the MC said and Leeteuk came out of the curtain, his face red as a tomato and laughing uncontrollably.

The audience went completely crazy as soon as they saw him. “What?? Oh my God!!” Nicky said standing up, wanting to run away covering her face. She was sooo embarrassed but Michelle grab her arm so she would not go away. “You knew about this?????” Nicky asked Michelle. “NO! I swear! I had no idea! I’m as surprised as you are!” Michelle said laughing. 

“Nicky-sshi. Here is your date for tonight, Letteuk-sshi!!!” the MC said grabbing Leeteuk’s arm and lifting it in the air.  The guys who were sitting in the audience run to the stage to hug Leeteuk, and started teasing him. “Hyung!!!! You got picked!” said Eunhyuk laughing. “Leeteuk-sshi, are you happy of being the winner?” the MC asked.   “Neh! Very happy!” Leeteuk answered with a huge smile.  “Nicky-sshi, come here please” the MC said to her who was still in shock. Michelle moved her next to the MC.

“Now, you two are going to have dinner right now; then to the Seoul Tower. But you must take a picture and send it to me, that way we can prove that it was official.” The MC explained to them.  “Are you happy with your selection??” the MC asked Nicky.  She just laughed, she couldn’t look at Leeteuk, it was too weird!

“Um……I…….just…..” she tried to say something but couldn’t.  “She is speechless!” the MC said and everybody laughed.  “I had no idea it was going to be Super Junior members!” Nicky tried to explain herself and Michelle translated. “You thought we were going to let you go out with a stranger ?” said Shindong  and everyone laughed. “So you rather have one of you date her?” asked the MC. “Nothing will happen with us and we could keep an eye on her meanwhile!” said Shindong .  “We can keep her under control!” said Heechul and Nicky hit him on the arm. People kept laughing until the MC sent Leeteuk and Nicky on their way.
 

Michelle hugged Nicky and told her to have fun . The other guys hive-fived Leeteuk as they left. Once in the car, Nicky just kept looking outside the window. “Nicky-ah…..you ok?” asked Leeteuk smiling. She just kept looking outside, ignoring him. “Nicky-ah?” Leeteuk insisted, touching her hand this time. Nicky felt an electrical current as soon as his hand touched hers. She looked at him trying to be serious but as soon as she saw him, she smiled.  “I’m okay. But what were you guys thinking!??” she said smiling. Leeteuk laugh and just moved his shoulders. “MC idea!” he said laughing.  “And you guys just followed it!”  she added.  “You not happy?” asked Leeteuk with an aegyo face making Nicky laugh.  “Well, at least you’re not a stranger; and we can talk, sort of. So, it’s okay, I guess”  she said smiling.

They arrived at the restaurant  and had a lovely dinner. Leeteuk teased Nicky for still not knowing how to use chopsticks, but then tried to teach her. Since the restaurant was more adult inclined, people didn’t recognized them. When they finished eating, they jumped in the car and headed for the Seoul Tower.  Nicky have heard about the place but was too busy to visit it before.

Some girls were staring at them, but nobody interrupted. Once they arrived , Leeteuk took her around the place showing her his tour guide abilities. They took the cable car and arrived at the top. “What are those?” asked Nicky when she saw a wall full of locks.  “Locks. Couples do.” He answered.  “Couples?” she asked getting closer to the wall and reading some locks.  “So they write things in the locks and placed them here?” she asked.  “Neh. And key lost” answered Leeteuk getting   close to her.  “So there is no way of opening it? How sweet” she said smiling.  

They kept walking and got close to the railing to see the view. It was a beautiful night and the view was stunning. Nicky was really enjoying the “date” although she didn’t want to call it a date.  “We need picture” said Leeteuk remembering the instructions the MC gave them.  “Oh! Right! We have to text him one” Nicky said. “Here” Leeteuk got out his cellphone and moved so they could be real close and inside the photo frame.  “hana, dul, set!” he said and they both smile for the self picture. “Let me see!” Nicky grabbed his phone to looked at it. It was good, they looked happy like they were having a good time. “I love it!” she added.  “More!” said Leeteuk and placed his arm around her shoulders to take another one.

They took 5 pictures, making different faces on each one. Then they text-message one to the MC. “Done” said Leeteuk hitting the send button.  “Good! We are done then.” Nicky said resting her arms on the railing. Leeteuk smiled at her and noticed that she was looking over his shoulder. He turned to see what she was looking at and found a couple playfully teasing each other . They looked close to each other  but not too close.  The guy suddenly grab the girl and hugged her really tight; she looked surprised but hugged him back. He said something to her ear and she let go of him looking surprised and blushing. She then hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“Looks like they will be putting a lock in the wall really soon” Nicky said still looking at them. Leeteuk turned to look at Nicky, she was smiling as she looked at the couple, but he detected a hint of sadness in her eyes. “Nicky-ah, you like date?” he asked her. She looked at him still smiling. “I wouldn’t call it a date, but I really enjoyed it” she answered. “You happy?” he asked again. “I’m very happy, Teukie. Thanks for taking care of me” she said smiling and ruffling his hair. “Yah! Stop!” he said laughing.

“You happy with me?” he asked once she stopped messing with his hair. She didn’t understood why he asked that but decided to answered with a funny remark.  “I’m happy that I picked you and not Heechul!” she said laughing. “Why pick me?” Leeteuk continued questioning her.  Nicky was kind of surprised of the way he kept asking things, so she decided to be honest. “Your answers were right for me. I didn’t knew it was you. We have more things in common than I expected. So…….that’s why!” She answered with a nervous smile. Leeteuk smiled at her answer, she admitted that they had things in common and for him that was a great sign. “I’m a little cold, so.. can we go?” Nicky added still nervous. “Arasso” said Leeteuk and they both walked inside.

Nicky was silent all the way, thinking of the things she said.  They did have things in common, and she picked him without imagining who he was. That made her feel uneasy; was she developing feelings for him? Was she looking at him as a man and not as ‘her child’, as the boy she had to take care of? Things seem a little confusing to her, but she brushed it off. The date was over and she was still in charge, so her troubled mind must wait……………….
