Yoseob’s P.O.V

“Bea Suzy?”

“annyeong oppa. Have you been well?”

I was shocked; my mouth dropped to the floor, and I wasn’t going to pick it up any time soon.

“ohhh. I didn’t know you two knew each other.” Suzy’s dad remarked. I still couldn’t manage to process the situation. This wasn’t really happening…was it? Please tell me this is all just one sick dream.

“ahh dehhh Appa. Yoseob oppa and I went to the same junior high school before we left for the states.” That was only half of our story Suzy..I wonder why she didn’t say more?

“This is great. I was afraid they wouldn’t feel comfortable around each other, but it seems like they are pretty close.” My dad said, while throwing in some laughs here and there.

“Yoseob, please have a seat. We can’t wait to get to know you!” Suzy’s mom said, with a genuine smile on her face. I couldn’t sit; I couldn’t stay there and pretend like everything going on here was okay with me. I wasn’t going to marry Suzy; not after what she did to me.

I ran over to Suzy’s side and grabbed her hand, and dragged her out of the restaurant. I only glanced at my mother and father, and they both had extremely shocked and disappointed faces…I would be hearing about this tomorrow….

I didn’t look at Suzy, I just kept on dragging her until we were out of the hotel, and near one of Seouls most famous parks.

I still held my grip on her, but turned her to the point where we were face to face.

“Why are you back?”

“I’m back to be with you, Oppa.”

“you wanted to be with me, huh? Ha, that’s funny. No really, why did you agree to this? You have the nerve to agree to this after never answering my calls or text messages? What happened to everything you promised me before you left? Did you find someone better? Someone who would treat you like the spoiled brat you are?”

“oppa…i…”

“No, you don’t get to speak. When you left, you left me broken. I had no one because I only focused on you. But now, I finally have a great life; I have friends who laugh and cry with me..” I paused for a second…should I tell her about jiyeon? I didn’t want to use Jiyeon as a trophy to brag about, but Suzy deserved it.

“And I have a girlfriend who loves me. I finally got over you, and I’m living a good life. Did you think that coming back to Seoul and agreeing to this marriage, I would magically come back to your arms?”

“I couldn’t contact you because…”

“BECAUSE WHY? WERE YOU TO BUSY WITH YOUR OTHER BOYFRIENDS? YOU DUMPED ME HERE, AND LEFT.” I couldn’t say anything else; I just waited patiently for her response. For some reason, it felt like I was forgetting something though…waiting here reminded me of someone…

“because…I NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE.” She let go of my grip on her hand and pulled me closer to her. Before I knew it, her lips were pushed against mine. When her lips touched mine, I thought I heard something break..

Kikwang’s P.O.V

If I had to give Jiyeon up for now, I had to make her be live that I wanted to be with IU; even if that made it a one sided love…mianhae IU, I’m going to try my best to like you again, but I can never love you.

I reached for my phone and texted IU.

“IU-ah, Mianhae. I’m sorry for worrying you. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight?”

I quickly got a text back.

“Sure oppa, but you’re going to have to buy me ice cream to make up for how cruel you’ve been these past few days. Come pick me up in 15 minutes, arasso? I’ll be waiting!” she was cute, I laughed to myself.

“arasso, see you then.”

Hmmm where should I take her? Well the best Ice cream store I know is right across from Seoul’s most famous park…I can just buy her ice cream and then we can talk everything out at the park…that sounds good.

I grabbed my keys and rushed out the door, afraid of seeing Sohyun I ran faster than the speed of light. I couldn’t help but think of Jiyeon the whole way over to IU’s house.

‘Was she eating well? Was she getting enough sleep? Was I sounding really desperate? I’ve never cared this much about anyone, but then again; Jiyeon isn’t just anyone…she was everything to me.’

I finally reached IU’s house, I jumped out of my car and called her.

“Yah! Didn’t I tell you to be out here? Don’t make me wait…it’s cold!” I gave her a little bit of aegyo, would that make her feel better?

I felt someone tap my shoulder.

“I’ve been here the whole time, PABO! She slapped my arm. I forgot how cute she was. Her face made me forget all my worries…maybe she was exactly what I needed to get over...you know who.

“Okay. Kaja let’s go.” I opened my car door for her. I got into the drivers seat and the car. As I made my way over to the park, I couldn’t help but remember that Jiyeon’s house was really close by. I parked the car, and as we were waiting for our ice creams, IU broke the long and awkward silence.

“Komawo, Oppa, for calling me and apologizing for your behavior. It made me feel a lot better. I really missed you, is everything okay now?” IU was a little nervous saying these words to me, but who wouldn’t be I was a complete to her.

“I’m okay now. Thank you for worrying about me. I’m sorry for putting you through a lot this week. I hope us getting ice cream will be a new start to our new relationship.” Would she accept me again, after everything I put her through?

“Definitely oppa.” ASSA! I still have one person who loves me! Komawo IU, I don’t think I could have accepted another rejection…

We left the ice cream shop and made our way to the park. The park was really popular for couples. There were so many, I was afraid I was going to lose IU, so I grabbed her hand and held onto it tight. She was shocked, but slowly leaned her head on my arm. This was nice…’I could get used to this’ I thought to myself.

All of a sudden IU stopped and gasped, her head was looking at the ground, so I tried to make eye contact with her by kneeling a little ways. To my surprise I was attacked…by an ice cream cone. She got me; my nose was all covered with her vanilla ice cream.

“HAHAHA THAT’S WHAT YOU GET OPPA! HAHAHAHA” she ran away. And I chased after her.

“YAH GET BACK HERE! IT’S TIME FOR PAYBACK!” running around, carefree like this, made everything bottled up in my head dissapear for a little bit. I stoped, she was running as fast as she could, who knew she was a little speed ball?

“HAHAAHA SLOW POKE! YOU CAN’T GET ME, I’M FASTER THAN Y--.” She managed to say before she tripped and fell on the grass.

“hahahaha.” I managed to let out a little laugh before I walked to her and helped her up.

“are you hurt anywehere?” I checked her body for any wounds. I stoped at her face.

“ani…I don’t think so.”

I was looking straight into her eyes. IU, don’t stare at me with your seductive eyes…Her lips had some ice cream on them, so I used my thumb to rub it off. At that moment, I wanted her. I wanted to claim her lips as mine for the night. I lowered my head and lead my lips towards hers. She closed her eyes and moved more towards me. When our lips touched, I heard something break.

No One’s P.O.V

The park wasn’t lit yet, so everything was dark, the only way people moved around was by seeing shadows. Yoseob and Kikwang didn’t realize that they were some 3 steps away from each other.

Jiyeon’s P.O.V

It wasn’t like Yoseob to be this late. It was nearing 8pm, and the park was filled with couples.

‘I might as well go home and check my phone. Maybe Yoseob called me and has an explanation for why he never showed up...’

I gathered everything I had prepared: the flowers, the chocolate dipped strawberries, the balloons, and the couple rings with matching dog tag necklaces I displayed cutely on the couple teddy bears with our ”Y&J” initials on them… at least Yoseob wasn’t going anywhere, I could always set this up again. As I was making my way through the park it seemed like all the couples’ were either showing skinship or kissing. I couldn’t make anything out I could only see shadows. But what caught my attention were two familiar male figures, both of them seemed to be with girls. Why were they so familiar?  

‘ahh Jiyeon, everything is dark, every guy looks the same in the dark.’ I gave myself a little slap in the head. I continued to walk through everyone. All of a sudden, the lights at the park tuned on, and my heart dropped and fell on the ground and broke.

I walked a little bit closer to the familiar figures. It wasn’t them…was it?

I was now standing in the middle, some 2 steps away from the two couples kissing.

“Yoseob?” I said. He pulled away from his kiss with an unfamiliar girl, and he looked at me, shocked. I didn’t notice that when I said Yoseob’s name, Kikwang also reacted. He looked at Yoseob and then me.

“Jiyeon.” Yoseob and Kikwang said in unison. I could feel it. My heart was gone; the pain and tears were coming to take its place.
