“Mr. and Mrs. Go, there is good news and there is also bad news” he started as soon as he sat down. Your mother clenched her fist and swallowed her saliva. She turned to your father and frowned, the doctor continued “the good news is that she had no serious injury from the accident” they smiled.

But it didn’t last long after he began asking questions on her “did she complain of having any headache, migraine or memory loss or did she feel weak at any time?” he looked at them. They shook their head silently.

“She has always been healthy” your father answered before your mother joined in “she had never complain about anything before the accident yesterday” she began to tear up as she recapped the incident before her eyes.

The doctor turned to his assistant and pointed to the pile of files on the table. She then placed it on the lights to show them. “This is an x-ray film of Minhee’s brain” he paused and pointed to a shaded area which he considered it to be a brain tumor.

“That can’t be, isn’t it suppose to be in the genes or something?” your mother asked worriedly as she thought about the possibilities of you not being with them anymore. “We are not sure yet but did she have any accidents before this recent one?” the doctor studied the film as they thought about it.

“Ah I remember that she fell down the stair when she was seven” you father said softly.

“Jinjja? But it could be when she fell from her bike when she was five during the holidays” you mother looked at him.

They continued bringing up your past incidents until the doctor cleared his throat “I think it’s better to have a full check up scan or maybe a surgery to confirm”.

“Surgery?” they asked “how much will it be?” you father asked. “Approximately half a million won or maybe more” he said and they looked down ashamed that they couldn’t help their daughter in their financial condition.

Details about the possible tumor were explained detail by detail to them as when and what symptoms are shown.  Before they walked out the room, they bowed to the doctor and the nurse. Your mother lost hope once she left the room, she fell onto her knees and sobs “Andwe~ this can’t be happening, it can’t be positive” she cried as your father pulled her up to a hug to comfort her.

“Don’t tell her anything about it” your father said and wiped her tears off her cheeks before walking back to the room where you were.

You hummed through the song being playing in your phone as you looked through all the folders in it. Photos, songs, videos and more were scanned by you. As soon as they came back, you looked at them without saying a word. “It’s nothing honey, just small scratch here and there from the road” your father said and you nodded.

“Oh okay” you continued singing your favourite song then you got a shock of a sudden hold. “umma~” you called out as you saw her crying and hugging you tightly. “Mianhe” she cried and tears formed in your eyes. “Aigoo umma it’s nothing… no harm no loss” you joked and patted her.

“What do you want as soon as you get out?” your mother asked with a small smile as she tried to please you. Your father joined in as he hugged your mothers shoulder, “Neh Minhee-ah what do you really want?” you tapped your chin and gave a wide smile.

“I want a Samsung galaxy player…. The latest one”
