Chapter 6
Her ProtectorHana struggled to open her eyes. Her eyes felt ten times heavier than they usually were. It was as if someone had used super glue and sealed them shut forbidding her from ever seeing again. After a couple minutes of struggling, she hissed as sunlight hit her in the face forcing them closed once more. After counting ten, she cautiously opened her eyes bit by bit allowing herself to get used to the obnoxious sun that was peeking through the curtains.
She sat up, rubbing her eyes before freezing in place. Where was this? Her eyes darted around nervously. The room was bright and spacious. The celing felt as if it was a skyscaper and Hana was on the ground floor. She was in a king sized bed with the softest sheets and a rather snuggly blanket. Her body protested as she left the warmth of the blankets. A gently cold breeze rushed past her as she shivered before glancing down. Someone had changed her out of her clothes. Instead of what she was wearing before, she was in a pair of shorts and a large T-shirt that smelled distintively of Luhan.
Luhan.
The Luhan.
Mafia leader Luhan.
Hana felt sick to her stomach as her thoughts became a jumbled mess. She was most likely in Luhan's mansion in China. In the past she always wanted to visit but right now, she wanted to be anywhere but here.
A loud knock snapped her out of panicking as her large doe eyes raced themselves to the large oak door. The knock came again before the doorknob started turning. Glancing around, she pocketed a small pocketknife she saw as she stood tense. The figure behind the knocking emerged.
It was Lay.
"Good morning Hana." He offered her a gentle smile which she didn't return. Lay frowned as Hana made no movement to acknowledge him.
"Did you sleep well?" Lay persisted as he stepped into the room but left the door open as a pre-caution. Hana's eyes flickered to the door and then back to Lay.
"Are you hungry?" Lay tried again as Hana's stomach growled loudly in response.
"Ah, I see that you are. I'll take you to the kitchen." Lay left first realizing that Hana would come when she felt ready.
Cautiously, Hana inched her way out the door before following behind Lay. She kept a good two feeet in between them, if Lay noticed, he didn't mention it.
If Hana was in awe with the bedroom she was in before, she would have fainted in the kitchen. Every new appliance was clean and shiny relaying the worth. State of the art stove and microwave was what caught Hana's attention the most. It was a masterpiece.
"Here." Lay ushered her toward the kitchen table, deciding that the least contact he had with her the better. He didn't want her any wary than she already was, clearly what happened last night had taken a toll on her mental health.
"Kyungsoo made some eggs and bacon earlier for you."
Hana eyed the food before poking it cautiously
