Sick
Behind Those Fake Masks (Indefinite Hiatus)
Jisoo's POV:
Laying on the hospital bed was Soojung, her eyes closed while an IV drip was standing right next to her bed, medication running through her veins that disappeared into her pale skin.
I was surprised to see her faint because she had never fainted before.
Jinki was standing next to me, his hands in his pockets while we waited for the nurse to come and give us an explanation.
"You think she will be alright, right?" I asked in a whisper.
Even though I hung around with her and Sungyoung only to become enemies, I've never really detestested her to the point to be happy seeing her miserable like this.
No normal human being would feel happy seeing another person like this.
"Probably." Jinki answered, his low voice somehow giving me a safe feeling.
One of the many nurses walked to us and smiled politely.
"Are you two friends from the girl you brought in?" she asked, her voice friendly which made me smile back.
"We're classmates." I corrected her though.
We're not friends anymore.
Have we ever really been friends?
I couldn't help but smile because of those thoughts yet the nurse must have misunderstood it as just being a nice student.
"Ah, you two did a good job to bring your fellow classmate to the hospital. She has anemia and problems with her low blood pressure. She must also not have been eating very well and add that to being tired, her health went down. She is alright though. She got some salt water to fill up her veins and gotten medications for anemia." the nurse explained thoroughly, making the two of us nod and thank her.
"Anemia and low blood pressure? She never looked like she would be this weak." I muttered while Jinki nodded slowly, a hum leaving his lips.
She must have hidden it really well.
A mask over her real face...?
"Well, it's good that she's getting the treatment she needs." Jinki sighed and walked with me to the room Soojung was resting in.
I opened the door slowly and as quiet as possible, not wanting to disrupt her rest yet when I opened the door completely, Soojung was sitting half up on the bed while staring at her cellphone.
She must have heard the door as she turned her head and looked at me before her eyes travelled to Jinki.
Her cold expression, something she always had, was softer than usual, the pale color of before slowly being replaced by a healthy rose color.
"You're awake."
It wasn't a question but more of a statement yet she simply nodded, placing the cellphone next to her before her eyes were glued on Jinki again.
"I don't know if I want to know... But who is he?" she asked, pointing at Jinki who raised up an eyebrow before glancing at me.
She can't recognize him?
She definitely never truely paid attention to Jinki, did she?
"Lee Jinki." Jinki answered before I could and like there was a realization, she nodded again.
There was a silence that I didn't like.
It was awkward and just too quiet if that could even be possible.
"Thank you for catching me and bringing me to the hospital. But that's all, you two don't need to expect more from me." Soojung spoke coldly.
I scoffed, while Jinki looked at her indifferently.
"We were
