Strawberry Cake
Behind Those Fake Masks (Indefinite Hiatus)
Jisoo's pov:
I followed Sora who ran to the kitchen, her eyes twinkling while her body language was telling me she was excited.
Behind me Jinki stilled, looking over my shoulders, not bothering himself to stand somewhere else which made me a bit uncomfortable. I didn't like people just standing behind me, it gave me a creepy and a bit of a scary feel.
Sora was mumbling excitingly over something I couldn't understand, her speech fast and unarticulated.
At last Jinki sighed, passing me, the smell of his shampoo reaching me which caught me off guard. He helped Sora opening the fridge and gave her a big box which made me raise my eyebrows.
"We bought a cake for unnie!" Sora beamed, showing me the white and brown colored carton box.
A cake?
She ran with the cake box to the dinner table before placing it carefully, looking at me with bright eyes. Jinki was already busy with taking some plates and forks to eat it.
I looked questioning at Jinki who just shrugged and opened the box, revealing a beautiful pink cake.
"Strawberry cake...," I muttered staring at the appetizing cake.
"You don't like strawberries...?" Sora asked, probably having noticed my blank expression.
"Eh... No it's not..." I smiled, patting Sora's head lightly. "I just didn't...expect it. Thank you." I said and sat down, Sora quickly sitting next to me.
Jinki silently cut the cake in pieces, giving me and sora one, he himself just sitting there.
"You're not going to eat?"
He looked at me, shaking his head.
"I'll eat after having my morning coffee." he said, pointing to the coffee machine that was busily making sounds, brewing the coffee beans.
I nodded and grabbed my fork, my eyes fixed on the red fruit.
Strawberries...
I slowly cut my piece of cake with my fork, taking a bit to my mouth and letting it melt on my tongue.
The sweet taste was strong but tasteful.
Without me even realizing, my lips were slightly curling up in a smile as I ate the cake.
Sora noticed this and grinned at me, giving me a small piece of strawberry.
Gratefully, I ate it and gave her a soft thank you.
