“Hello,” Hannah says in a low voice, speaking Japanese and she lowers her head politely to the camera filming making of the promotional video. She looks to do everything in slow-motion, all from bowing and blinking to talking. “We are now at the set for 5 Pieces new single, [Let’s Go]. It is a very happy and fun song that will welcome 5 Pieces’ activities this spring. Please look forward to it.”

She smiles at the camera-man who says she said it well and Hannah gives a cute v-sign to the camera. She is dressed in a black panel-shoulder printed pullover with colourful leggings; her long blonde hair is wavy with a cute bow barrette in pink on the side and it is a clearly seen colourful concept this time. Hannah loves the pullover because it is loose and has long sleeves covering her hands, so she walks around on set with her fingers curling around the end of the sleeves.

“We look five years younger,” Emelia jokes with the camera when passing by, turning around with a smirk, meaning the colourful concept for [Let’s Go]. Emelia is wearing a black ear-accent printed zip vest, colourful baggy pants and under the vest a black sweater with a popular Japanese phrase printed at the front. Her hair is styled on one side, long a pretty in a new dyed strawberry blonde colour, the hood put perfectly on her head. Her Japanese comes out automatically just like Hannah’s. “We look different now, don’t we? Five blonde pieces…”

“Why did all members change hair-colour?” the camera-man asks, as 5 Pieces have their foreign blonde hair-colours now too.

“We are trying on a lot of new things in 2014,” Emelia is nodding at her own answer.

5 Pieces came to Japan this morning, heading right away to the hair-saloon to get ready by colouring the roots to keep the blonde shades and have after that spent the day filming the PV for [Let’s Go]. With Emelia and Hannah on the set now, just the two of them get ready to film together. The background is white for them to do effects later, with colourful things popping up while the members are singing and fooling around excitedly. Hannah and Emelia are pretty quiet but they keep doing body gags, moving around funnily and blankly just looking at each other. Once they start filming there are lip-synching to their parts and the chorus, jumping around on the whole set and there is one part where they are standing friendly together with an arm around the other and just looking coolly.

Hannah’s voice is hoarse and is sore, but she is smiling and laughing and fooling around on set as if there is nothing wrong at all. It’s good that it isn’t much dancing in this song at all; it is just to jump around and have fun in the video, and to be with your members makes it easy.

When all the ladies are on set together to do it with 5 Pieces, Maria takes notice of the camera filming making of and she comes up to it, showing off her nails that are painted in blue and pink to fit her yellow skirt and pink striped tank top. Her hair is wavy like Hannah’s but not as long, and her accessories are funny rings with a pink moustache on the left hand and a dollar sign on the right and she is also wearing a pair of fake pink glasses. She shows off her nails happily, no fake nails but just the pretty colours.

“Pretty,” she says in Japanese when reaching the camera. “It is … colours. Pretty colours.”

Carolina walks by behind her to the set, finishing chewing on something. She is wearing a pink printed top and matching shorts with colourful socks and a purple beanie lightly at the top of her head. Maria looks behind to see the mascot passing by, just because she was eating something, before turning back to the camera to smile as Hannah walks up to stand next to her. Maria is fast to ask Hannah how to say something in Japanese, and Hannah tells it to her for Maria to say it to the camera that films it all.

“Did 5 Pieces miss Japan?” the camera-man asks them.

Maria looks at Hannah. She understands the question, and for a moment she thinks the youngest should answer, but is reminded of Hannah’s voice so she looks back at the camera. “Of course we do. We always have fun in Japan. It will be fun to promote again.”

“Our last single came out six months ago, we look forward to promote in Japan again,” Hannah adds and the two girls starts to nod a little too much. The smile grows in their faces before the PD calls for 5 Pieces to come to the set.

If having two members filming with fun is crazy, having all five of them is uncontrollably. The whole crew is laughing when 5 Pieces are running around in front of the camera with the white background. One time Emelia starts running back and forth and Carolina follows her and they are just not still for a second and one time when filming, Hannah walks with Maria to the back to just squat down and move their heads back and forth like two weirdoes, being instructed by the PD to run to the camera when the chorus begins. It will be a fun music video.

As soon as the ladies are told to go change clothes for the next part, Emelia hurries up to the making of camera that has been hiding in the back filming them.

“I asked the hairdresser to make my hair stand out more than the others,” Emelia tells the camera with a smile. “My hair is long, and the colour… match my skin. But in the end, I hide my hair under this-” she touches the hood on her head, “and everything is put on one side. It stands out the most because it’s Emelia’s, isn’t that so?”

“Isn’t that so?” Julia imitates when walking up next to Emelia, looking at her friend to ask in Japanese what she is doing. It is a simple Japanese phrase, and instead of actually answering the question Emelia puts an arm around Julia and starts to sing their new Japanese song.

The ladies changes clothes in the dressing-room, changing while talking. Hannah is quietly changing her clothes, only listening and nodding, giving the thumbs up when stylist Yong Hyun asks her how the clothes are sitting. She needs to save her voice. Most of the time she is actually standing with her cell phone, because there is this certain person who is not talking to her because (she thinks, how can she know the reason when he won’t answer) 5 Pieces were in One Direction’s hotel room.

“Hannah has lost weight,” Yong Hyun tells Maria when the two ladies are looking at their mirror reflections in the new set of colourful outfits.

“You have?” Maria wonders, looking next to her at Hannah who is in a pink version of the black sweater she wore earlier, now wearing a long tank top underneath to not wear any pants, revealing her bare legs with socks and sneakers.

“2kgs in one week,” Yong Hyun announces, not liking it at all and Hannah is just grimacing at the conversation with her eyes on her body in the mirror reflection.

“How do you know?” Maria asks the stylist but asks Hannah how she has managed to loose 2kgs in just one week.

“She told me earlier,” Yong Hyun chuckles, touching Maria’s clothes to make sure it sits correctly. “The clothes won’t fit the baby now when she keeps loosing weight. And we all know the reason for it.”

“My throat has been hurting when I eat this week, that’s why,” Hannah answers. She picks up her cell phone to see if Jonghyun has answered any of her texts or calls yet – he hasn’t.

“We all know who and why you have eaten badly this week,” Yong Hyun says with his eyes looking at the ladies as if they all know.

Maria nods with a sigh, glancing at the cell phone in Hannah’s hand while the youngest pretends she doesn’t hear that. “He is still not answer? What’s his problem, by the way? You meet celebrities, he meet celebrities, what’s the big deal?”

“You don’t get it?” Yong Hyun looks shocked at the ladies when seeing Hannah sighing with the leader, neither of them understanding why Jonghyun is not answering. “You met One Direction – the biggest and hottest idols in the world since The Beatles or something – and on top of that, you were in their room in the middle of the night, drinking and partying.”

“Yeah, but it’s not like we did anything,” Hannah shrugs her shoulder, this time Maria is nodding.

“Let me ask you this,” Yong Hyun waves a finger at them, putting the weight on one foot to look a little gayer. “If Jonghyun had crossed the globe and you found out on the internet that he had met a gorgeous and popular female celebrity – like Beyoncé or someone – how would you react?”

“I would get jealous, but she is married and has a kid,” Hannah flatly answers. Oh, she would be so jealous – imagine meeting the Queen B!

“Alright, alright, someone young and single, a fresh face. Taylor Swift or someone. You would get upset too, wouldn’t you?”

The pout on Hannah’s face is answer enough, and Maria looks at the youngest to see that, but the leader still doesn’t agree on it. “He should still answer her calls, you know. It’s been like … two days or something,” Maria says and on this, Yong Hyun does agree.

“A sensitive one, you got,” Yong Hyun jokes with Hannah and moves over to stand in front of her. “But if he saw you like this, he would be destroyed because your body looks skinnier than what it did a month ago.”

“We’ll eat a lot of food together now,” Maria cheerfully says and lifts her hand up for Hannah to do a high-five.

“I want fried rice,” Hannah answers. Just the thought of Japanese food makes watering. She think she has lost weight this past week because of being abroad and her body can’t follow the time of when breakfast, lunch and dinner are (and the meals in between…), also the schedule followed by the rumours makes her loose appetite. In Japan, Hannah has never a hard time eating; she wants to eat a lot of delicious things during these two-three days filming the PV.

“Oh, and I want that meat we ate last time,” Maria says with big eyes, not knowing how to explain it in Korean so she adds in Japanese the way she learnt it; “Yakitori” (skewered grilled chicken pieces)

“Curry rice!” Hannah adds and the two girls look at each other with hunger in their eyes.

“Is it time to eat soon?” Maria then groans with a hand on her stomach. Yong Hyun just laughs at how the two girls who look like they really don’t eat much at all are going crazy just thinking of eating.

They will film the PV all night, but today it is Monday the 3^rd of February. Which means that tonight, at 12AM, Jonghyun is hosting his own radio show for the first time. Hannah had personally asked her members and the PD of the solo filming schedule, to get those two hours free (she is free for four hours that night) and right before the radio is about to begin Hannah is hurrying off to the van to sit in there in silence to listen to the radio through MBC’s channel. Julia comes to sit with her at first, helping Hannah to write a text message to Jonghyun after the radio has started and they can hear his soft voice. A supportive message on the homepage, they send it from Hannah and Julia but also the text message personally to Jonghyun.

With the boy still acting silly for not answering, Hannah is just wondering if he reads her messages at all. She sits in the van, hugging a jacket and blanket around her with eyes almost closed while listening to the pretty voice of her boyfriend on the radio. This will be great for her if he works on the radio; she can always tune in and listen while working somewhere else.

Julia stays for half an hour before the manager comes to get her, and Hannah sits there calmly by herself, almost falling asleep.

On the radio, when a song comes to an end, she can hear Jonghyun say in his low, soft and smooth voice; “I have gotten a lot of questions on our message board about some articles written about me these days… Among the messages there is one saying ‘We can hear your voice all the way to Japan, you’re doing well, ganbattekudasai (頑張ってください！)’ Ooooh, 5 Pieces’ Julia and Hannah send a message from Japan… They are still working at this hour. Thank you for tuning in, ladies. – I just want to say this a little quickly, okay? The writers are nodding to let me say this. If it comes directly from me, will you stop the rumours already? Hannah is my girlfriend.”

And nothing else. He changes the subject. At first seconds, Hannah just gives out a silent scream at how cool he sounded when saying the last part, how her body was shaking going crazy when he was reading out their message. But then she gets a little upset, pouting like a child because he hasn’t talked to her for two days and then tells everyone on radio that she is his girlfriend – the girlfriend he isn’t talking to. Angrily she writes a text message to him, just shortly writing ‘I’m your girlfriend on air but you won’t even answer my calls?’

Hannah listens to the rest of the show though, being half asleep most of the time but mostly just enjoying the voice of her boyfriend.

Maria drops by one time just briefly, and a few seconds later Emelia comes as her filming has ended and she wants to get some sleep in the silence – she puts on headphones and lies down in the back of the van to sleep while Hannah sits in the middle seats – and Hannah listens to the end of the radio program. When it ends she turns down the page and decides to try getting some sleep too before it is her turn.

It feels like minutes before the cell phone in her pocket starts to vibrate – Jonghyun. Hannah stumbles out of the van in a hurry to not disturb Emelia, and she answers the call when almost falling down on the ground outside the van but catches her balance and closes the slide-door behind her when putting the phone to her ear, too eager.

“Hello?” she asks in a panicked voice from stumbling out the van.

“I didn’t wake you, did I?”

His voice isn’t as sweet as it was on the radio, not as smooth either. She prefers the voice he has now, a voice she is used to hear and that sounds more natural. It melts in her ear. “I’m-” Hannah is about to say she isn’t sleeping, but remembers she was caught by the call when she had been drifting into sleep. “I was getting some rest before my shoot.”

“Okay…” Jonghyun says slowly, “Did you listen to the show?”

“Mm… the whole thing,” Hannah mumbles, honestly not wanting to talk about his radio program when he has been ignoring her for two days; “So you’re talking to me now, I guess.”

“You’re mad at me for not answering your calls?” he sounds like he can’t believe it. “I’m the angry one, Hannah. First you get angry at me for talking to an actress for a few minutes because stupid rumours break out, then you hang out friendly with Kim Jaejoong at a party – which, by the way, was pointed out in articles that you met up privately at a club – and then you go drink with One Direction at a hotel room? Who should be angry among us here?”

“But you know the truth, so why get angry for it? And I didn’t get angry at you meeting that actress.”

“I was on the phone with you; you were upset.”

“Upset at the silly rumours, yes, nothing else. But that doesn’t explain why you haven’t talked to me. That’s just mean,” Hannah pouts. She is standing outside at the parking lot, the night is chilly and she is considering walking inside to get some warmth on her legs that are only wearing leggings. The chilly air goes straight through them.

“I don’t like you hanging out with tall and handsome guys when I’m not around,” Jonghyun mutters to her, making her roll her eyes. “It’s always the same Hannah; you’re too naïve to see the reality and I really don’t like that I can’t be there to show them you are not available.”

“Why? You think I can’t handle myself?”

“You know it isn’t like that.”

“If you’re so sensitive, you should know that the only member of One Direction I talked to is engaged,” Hannah mutters. “And I have my ladies around me all the time.”

“Not that it matters, but I have seen how the ladies are when they have been drinking,” Jonghyun tells her, then sighs “I don’t want to fight, Hannah. All these rumours shouldn’t make us fight. People always say these kinds of things.”

“You’re the one who has been ignoring me for two days, Jonghyun, I have called and texted you nonstop but you haven’t answered,” Hannah says in a voice that is about to disappear from being hoarse. She swallows with a glance at the door leading inside the building. “I have to go now. Get some sleep…”

“Nabi, please do-”

“Goodnight,” Hannah whispers before hanging up.

With a deep breath she turns off the sound on her phone and puts it in her jacket pocket while heading inside. She is tired and her voice barely wants to say a full sentence without letting a few words come out soundlessly, it hurts to even swallow so she can not handle Jonghyun right now; she decides on not using it by avoiding the phone and go inside to sit down by the noisy surrounding where everyone is too busy to notice her.

The bright music they are filming for is not suitable for her mood at all, but it does help her from sulking when trying to get some rest.

 

5 Pieces are in Japan for almost three days working the whole time, and eating a lot. They do the video for [Let’s Go!], the jacket shoot for the single and two commercials (one commercial is made during the video filming for [Let’s Go!] to promote the clothes sponsored by a Japanese brand while the other commercial is for an anti-bullying movement in Japan), and after finishing the schedule in Japan the ladies head to Korea with their minds set on getting some rest and to film Good Sister. Jonghyun has been texting Hannah since their call, eventually the chill between them has changed but she keeps reminding him of that he actually ignored her for two days. The annoying thing is that Hannah will film Good Sister for 48 hours when coming back to Korea, so she will not get the chance to meet him until afterwards – it’s all about matching your schedule.

The filming for Good Sister starts right away at the airport, though Hannah has no idea of where the cameras are because of all the other people crowding around them at the airport. It’s crowded because fans and media are crazy about 5 Pieces returning to Korea after being away for a week and a half – well, according to the journalists that are shouting questions they are there because of the recent rumours and some weird rumour that the couple has gotten back together just because they are getting so much attention. It’s all insane, not in a good way though the cameras filming for Good Sister only captures the fans screaming and running after the popular idol-group.

Outside the airport, a van is waiting for 5 Pieces. 5 Pieces’ manager is waiting for their arrival with Kim Kyung Ho sitting in the middle with his palm and face pressed against the window to try seeing the doors. The place is crowded by the doors to the airport by 5 Pieces’ fans and Kyung Ho is trying to see above them by standing up inside the van, ending up hitting his head in the ceiling and the manager looks at the back at the boy.

“Sit down in the back so you won’t be in the way when they come,” the manager tells him, the cameras filming Good Sister busy capturing the little boy leaving marks on the tinted window.

“But I can’t see from the back,” Kyung Ho answers without leaving the window. “They landed a long time ago…”

He got a text message from Hannah when the ladies landed, and he has been waiting by the window ever since – they have still not come – and Kyung Ho is wiggling his back and forth with palms and face pressed against the window. A group of fans suddenly rushes through the doors of the airport, looking behind them and then turns around to be backing out with their cell phones held up, and they are bouncing and screaming.

“Iiiiih!” Kyung Ho starts jumping in the van too, the manager suddenly shouting at him to not jump just as Kyung Ho hits his forehead on the window. “Aoh…”

He puts a hand on his forehead, looking at the manager who just tells him to go sit in the back and Kyung Ho takes another glance through the window to see the crowd walking around a small group of blonde foreigners slowly, slowly, making their way out the airport. Kyung Ho laughs in excitement when rushing to sit on the other middle seat, behind the driver and he is bouncing like those fans when telling the manager that he understands why it took so long since they walk so slowly. The manager just laughs, telling him to sit still for the ladies to come inside.

It’s chaotic; the fans keep a small distance from the van when the ladies approaches it with their manager from Japan; stylists and the other manager are taking another car, which Manager Lee also will take after making sure 5 Pieces are leaving safely. Manager Lee opens the slide-door on the van’s right side, where Kyung Ho has left his hand-print and face on the window, and he moves aside to let the ladies get inside while telling them to sit three in the back and two in the middle and Julia walks in first, smiling brightly when seeing Kyung Ho in the car.

“Little boy!” Emelia raises her hand when getting inside the van last and receives a high five from Kyung Ho who is trying to answer questions coming from all the ladies. Emelia and Maria sits next to Kyung Ho while the other three sits in the back.

When hearing Hannah’s voice, Kyung Ho starts to laugh and asks who it is and everyone begins teasing/joking around at Hannah’s hoarse voice. They will have a fun 48 hours filming the show; it starts as soon as they start filming and though the ladies have been tired after working and travelling, they are smiling and joking and energetic with Kyung Ho – the ladies always are like that with him.

“You think they will be happy to see us?” Maria asks when the group is heading out the elevator to the apartment, talking about the pets waiting for them.

“Really happy!” Kyung Ho brightly answers, hurrying to get to the front to reach the door first.

Entering the hall, crowded with the members walking inside, the puppies are barking loudly and running back and forth brightly; grabbing toys to keep in their mouths while greeting the ladies happily. Even Ace is in the hall greeting them; always happy whenever 5 Pieces come home after being away for long and he is soon curdling in Maria’s arms as she picks him up warmly. Kyung Ho rushes inside the apartment with Michin. Everyone just walks inside, heading here and there. Carolina is fast to ask Kyung Ho if he has eaten and if he is hungry and asks the ladies if they should make something to eat and if they should watch some TV while all the others just head their own way.

“What box is this?” Kyung Ho wonders when coming inside the living-room for the fourth time chasing the puppies, and now spotting the big cardboard box – Hannah gapes at the sight, not believing they haven’t removed the bike (still not unpacked and prepared) for the filming, but to her rescue she is not the one answering his curious question.

“It’s mine,” Emelia coolly answers while throwing her jacket on the sofa, pausing to go to the kitchen to smirk at the boy and tell him; “I have put a dead body in it.”

Kyung Ho laughs, not for a second believing it and he looks adorable when looking at Emelia with a laugh who gives him a wink before she heads inside the kitchen. Kyung Ho hurries inside after her, wanting to know what kind of food they are going to prepare since all of them have eaten dinner already.

They feel at home, changing clothes, some washes up, and eventually everyone sits down in the living-room. Hannah and Julia go to the kitchen to prepare a bowl of peeled and cut fruit, Carolina had prepared black bean paste and vegetable with rice (she had an instant package and had most of the things prepared from earlier, she just had to mix it, warm it and cook the rice) and she even set the table with bowls and spoons for everyone who wants to take in the living-room, while there also are onion ring chips that Maria takes out – the living-room table is filled with things to eat within an hour. 5 Pieces have gotten into comfortable clothes – sweats – and two of them have taken a shower, and they are all eating in the living-room with the pets and Kyung Ho while watching TV. Kyung Ho looks super happy, eating like this after dinner (he just takes a little of everything) and spending time with 5 Pieces.

In the middle of their eating and TV-watching in their laziness, suddenly becoming a boring teenage reality show, Manager Lim makes his entrance.

“Why aren’t you cleaning up?” he asks, grabbing Emelia’s jacket to go put it in the living-room. “You have to unpack too. The kids have to go out. You should divide tomorrow’s chores as well. Aren’t you getting up?”

“I’m eating,” Emelia uses as an excuse, but not until now she grabs a bowl to take some food to live up to her excuse

“You’re done in ten minutes, clean up after that,” Manager Lim orders and disappears to put the jacket in the hall. Kyung Ho is the only one ready to get up if he returns and tells them to get up right away, the ladies just glanced at their manager or stayed focused on the food and TV. From the hall, Manager Lim’s voice is heard over the TV; “Ryo had diarrhoea this morning, so he is not allowed to eat. You can give him some rice tomorrow but nothing else than water, okay?”

“Julia has already given him onion rings,” Hannah is fast to tell on her friend, Julia just looking down at the puppy staring at everyone eating with drool almost dripping on the floor.

“Appa, that’s one of the things you should say as soon as we land,” Julia defends herself, pouting at the puppy. “You have a bad stomach, Ryo? We’ll go out on a walk later, okay? Just wait a little longer…”

Kyung Ho lies down in the sofa to reach down to Ryo too, listening to the ladies say in low mumbles that they have chores to do tomorrow that they have to divide later and talking about when Kyung Ho should go to bed too. Kyung Ho sits up when he comes to the topic, and he asks Hannah right away if she will read for him.

“I can read for you,” Maria suggests quickly, and starts to imitate herself reading, which sounds hilarious. For some reason no one took her suggestion seriously.

They finish eating and start to clean up; Emelia and Carolina both stays seated being in a daze with eyes on the TV, Julia gets up first followed by Hannah and Kyung Ho and then it is the leader who gets up just to put away her chips and go to the bathroom. Kyung Ho says he wants to go out with the puppies when Julia says she is going after she is done cleaning, he is trying to help out in the kitchen but ends up just looking at Hannah and Julia cleaning up really well on their own.

“Where did Maria put the chips?” Carolina asks when sneaking inside the kitchen.

“You’re not supposed to take them,” Hannah tells her, glancing behind Julia to see Carolina open the cabinet.

“Yeah… but we need snacks for the movie, don’t we?”

“You just ate,” Julia answers this time.

Hannah finishes up with the cleaning and head upstairs with her bag to unpack and put the dirty clothes in the laundry. Kyung Ho comes too, rolling around in her bed with Ace who he had forcedly carried with him in there; they are lightly talking while Hannah is unpacking. She does maybe half of it before throwing herself on the bed to play with Kyung Ho and Ace. The cat likes it, starting to roll around and it looks like he is imitating Kyung Ho and they are playing with the cat. Maria comes too when she was on the way to unpack her own things, and she gets stuck playing with them and Ryo comes after his walk and gets up in the bed too. Ace and Ryo play well together, Kyung Ho plays like the third pet with them for a few minutes before he gets up – it gets too crowded on the bed.

“What’s this?” Kyung Ho asks when spotting the awards Hannah has behind the glass in her room. Maria answers first that it is Hannah’s own personal awards that she has received. He points up at the highest level, asking what awards are there.

“Um…” Hannah stumbles over her bag on the floor when getting up to Kyung Ho, and she picks him up in her arms (he is ten years old soon, but she can still carry him).

The cabinet has four levels, and the lowest one is empty; the second one has three awards from SBS Drama Awards (two from 2012 for her role in Midnight Dream and a third from Mr & Miss in 2013), level three has five awards which are from different award shows from 2012-2013 when Hannah won with [I CRY]. All the awards she got from music programs are at the agency while the big awards are right here. On the fourth level she has just two awards, which are the two she has received for her book, and they definitely look different from the other awards in both shape and style, both given to the book ‘Joe – Under Seoul’s Streets’. Kyung Ho is curious about every single award, looking fascinated by each of the ten awards in the cabinet. It doesn’t help Hannah much that Maria is lying in the bed adding that Hannah cried rivers when she receives the awards for Best Vocal Performance Solo and a special award for Outstanding Artist in 2012 – Hannah knows it too, she cried so much because she had been terrified to just perform her solo song [I CRY] at the big award shows and then she got award on top of that just let it all out.

“I saw it,” Kyung Ho says when Maria says Hannah cried at the award show. He is hugging on to Hannah when looking at the awards. “Maria Nuna cried too.”

They laugh at his comment and Hannah throws him back in bed, making him laugh like a real child and Ryo is fast to crawl over to Kyung Ho to him on his ear, them all laughing at it.

Kyung Ho has become like a happy pill for 5 Pieces. Even if the ladies are tired they are constantly fooling around and looking energetic on the cameras when they are around Kyung Ho. Hannah’s voice is barely even there but she keeps laughing and fooling around too, seeing how her members are really going against their tired bodies to do the filming – Kyung Ho is energetic like always, for two hours he keeps occupied by running around, he is randomly dancing and singing with the ladies and even when brushing his teeth he is not still for a second.

After some fun playing, Kyung Ho goes to bed. Emelia and Maria both come to say goodnight to him while Hannah takes a seat on the bed waiting for Kyung Ho to lie down.

“I’m going to read for you,” Kyung Ho says in a matter of fact tone when he puts a bunch of books on his bed for Hannah to see. “Since your voice needs rest.”

“Okay,” Hannah agrees, leaning forward to see what books he has brought with him. Three off the books she knows are books he had when he was at the hospital, he read it for her there too as she couldn’t read Korean for him at that time. “Which one will you read for me?”

“This one,” Kyung Ho picks out without hesitation, making Hannah smile as it is one of the books he had at the hospital too; a very used copy of The Little Prince in Korean. Hannah had never heard of the book before coming to Korea, never heard of The Little Prince either, but it is surely popular in Korea and for Kyung Ho it is no exemption. It’s Kyung Ho’s favourite book since he was a child – the only book his parents personally gave him on his birthdays while all other things were given when he was at the hospital to not be bored (no one was there to read them for him though, as he was too young to read himself at the beginning).

“Lie down then,” Hannah tells him kindly when putting the rest of the books away so he can fit in bed. She is sitting by the wall, resting her back and looking at her little brother lying down under the quilt, struggling with the book before lying correctly.

Kyung Ho starts to read out loud, Hannah listening while watching the cover of the book he is holding up. She has wanted to text Jonghyun ever since she came home but because she knows how TV works, she has kept her phone in the bedroom on silence to not think about it. If she stands with her phone for a second and a camera captures it, they might tell her it is nothing but when it airs it will say she is contacting a special someone. With everything being said at the moment, Hannah doesn’t want to give anyone the chance to even think about starting more rumours. Kyung Ho is good at reading, he enjoys it too and through the years Hannah has been able to hear how he has improved. He is more interested in the characters now as he is into acting, he tries to tell with emotions, to do different voices and it makes her smile each time he does a new fun character’s voice.

When he is done reading, Hannah sits with him for a few more minutes because they are talking, and once he is going to sleep she goes to wash up. She takes a long shower, having her own beauty time by fixing her look with this and that, she puts on lotion all over her body, takes on a long tank top, pulls on her blue polka dot pyjama pants and finishes with a sponsored raglan-sleeve t-shirt dress in white and gray (Maria has one in yellow). She can’t hide her body more than that, though the collar of the t-shirt dress is wide and keeps falling over her shoulder – no one will notice. Her hair is put up in a loose bun, still wet from the shower.

She grabs a note pad she had with her for the trip, a bunch of loose papers in it, her cell phone, earphones and a chocolate bar from Europe and then head downstairs. Maria is watching the latest episode of You Who Came From The Stars with Ace, Emelia is sleeping in the sofa and Julia is said to have gone to bed. If Emelia is actually sleeping is doubtful because she will still know everything that she has missed in the episode – she is creepy that way. Hannah walks inside her office when knowing where everyone is, finding Carolina sitting there with huge headphones on her head. Just like Hannah, Carolina has a brain constantly working to create new things. While Hannah is writing song-lyrics and having ideas for scenes for her books, Carolina creates real music and song-lyrics. She has equipment on her desk for simple music making, and now when being away working both of them sits down by their own desk to get everything corrected and fixed and whatnot. Hannah starts her laptop, while waiting for it to warm up and log in she is looking through her papers, sorting it out and gets a bigger noting pad that she started to re-write the things she has brought with her from the trip, sorting out everything to make the many papers turn into one.

She plays music in the earphones on her laptop, waiting for Jonghyun’s radio to begin. She knows there is a camera filming them in this room, up at the corner, but she doesn’t care at all since she is just working a little.

Two nerds that are stuck with their things, that’s Hannah and Carolina. Emelia goes to bed, Maria goes to her room to read and fall asleep, but these two are suddenly not longing for their beds as much as they long to get all of the ideas in their heads out on paper or on music. Jonghyun’s radio begins, and Hannah listens to it through the earphones. She eat her chocolate, goes to the kitchen during a song to get some water, and she sits there listening to the voice of her boyfriend while eating chocolate and looking through things she has written on her papers. She texts him too, lightly, not much at all, and Hannah is pouting for herself that she can’t run off and meet him when his radio ends. When the radio ends, she wishes him a good night of sleep, turning him down when he asks if he can call her – she don’t want to talk to him with Carolina and cameras there.

For hours they sit there, time just rushes by once they are off in their own world. Not until Hannah says she is going to sleep does Carolina notice the time and says she is going to sleep too.

Hannah is brushing her teeth when Jonghyun texts her, innocently asking ‘sleeping?’. She writes back when she crawls in under the cold quilt ‘just lied down’. Her room is black, the door is almost shut and she is lying in the tank top and t-shirt dress, knowing she can’t sleep in underwear when they are filming. Jonghyun answers her text message with a call, and Hannah answers with the phone on the pillow, hearing his voice talking to her.

“I can’t sleep,” Jonghyun whispers to her, his voice mesmerizing like always.

“I haven’t tried yet,” Hannah says in a whisper.

“I wish I was in bed with you… It’s easier to sleep with you,” he tells her. Hannah is quiet, wanting him there too. She could lie there and look at him, touch his soft hair and hear him breathe next to her. “It’s Valentine’s Day next week. Are you busy?”

Hannah keeps pouting, “We have some charity things and an event that day. I’m free in the evening.”

“I have some interviews and Music Bank,” Jonghyun tells her. He is making a comeback with SM The Ballad next week, a duet with Taeyeon. Hannah should really not be jealous. “I want to go on a date with you, Nabi.”

“On Valentine’s?”

“Yes. A romantic date, just you and me – a few hours just the two of us – what do you say?” Jonghyun sounds like he really wants that, to get away from everything and just be the two of them without being in a rush to soon leave or lying in bed having to sleep.

“I’ll ask my manager in the morning,” Hannah answers.

“You want me to sing for you?” Jonghyun suggests and Hannah laughs against her pillow.

“If you want,” she answers. Jonghyun doesn’t hesitate to start singing [As Long As You Love Me], and Hannah’s eyelids are so heavy that she is listening with them closed.

 

Morning comes too fast. 5 Pieces’ apartment is quiet – 5 Pieces don’t have anything else on their schedule than filming Good Sister and that means they can sleep in. But early in the morning, Kim Kyung Ho is seen leaving his bedroom. The cameras are filming him walk downstairs, he uses the bathroom there and starts to look through the kitchen. He takes out eggs – one by one placing them on the kitchen worktop and not even counting them – and looks through for what more to bring. He takes out milk too, but ends up just staring at the two ingredients.

“I don’t know what to do with that…” he whispers to the camera when heading out of the kitchen.

He runs up the stairs to the second floor, only starting to walk on his toes when he is up there in hope to not wake anyone up. Ryo is coming out of Julia’s room, happily meeting the little boy, but everyone else seems to be sleeping. Kyung Ho peeks inside the room with no windows; Hannah’s. She is sleeping under the quilt, lying on her stomach with hands under the pillow, and seeing her being asleep makes Kyung Ho turn around (he almost bumps in the camera that had followed him) and he looks at the camera-man with hesitation, wondering if he should wake her up. He walks inside the room, deciding she will have to wake up soon anyway to give him a ride to school.

“Nuna,” Kyung Ho whispers, touching the quilt with his hand.

She is lying with her head away from him, but he hears when she wakes up; Hannah groans and mumbles what it is, turning her head to hide it in the pillow. Kyung Ho says her name again, just to make sure she is awake, and Hannah moves her left hand up to remove the hair from her face when turning to face him with her eyes closed, too tired to open them.

“Help me make breakfast,” he whispers to Hannah. For the solo-interview later, he will say that 5 Pieces aren’t much for the kind of Korean breakfast they made him last time, so he wants to make up for it by making breakfast they do like; but that’s for the interview, now he waits for Hannah to wake up or start moving and he crawls over her to lie in the bed too, with his up and hands lightly hitting the quilt for Ryo to jump up.

Hannah wants to tell him to sleep a little longer and eat breakfast later (honestly, the ladies won’t wake up in a few hours, and he is leaving in maybe one hour) but she is too tired and is hurting that she isn’t even sure she can try say anything. She will have to treat the whole day to get better; they don’t have to talk much for the filming when Kyung Ho is at school. Kyung Ho keeps moving in the bed, playing with Ryo and being annoyingly awake for the too-tired Hannah. Ryo is clearly awake too, enjoying Kyung Ho’s stay the most among them and the two of them keeps playing in her bed. Hannah keeps thinking “I’m getting up… now”, but doesn’t move a single inch, and she keeps repeating it in her mind without doing anything all until the annoyance becomes too much.

With a tired groan she shoots up from bed, pulling down the t-shirt dress in the same move and she walks out of the bedroom. As soon as she has gone out, she can hear Ryo jump down from the bed and Kyung Ho is cheering when coming too. Hannah is trying to get the hair out of her face, rubbing her eyes to try opens them when heading down the stairs and though her body is moving she feel like her face and mind are still in bed sleeping.

“I want to make omelettes, and bacon, sandwiches…” Kyung Ho is talking when following Hannah inside the kitchen, and sits down on his knees on a chair when she opens the fridge.

Hannah takes out things for breakfast, still doing her best to open her eyes. Sandwiches, cheese, ham, cucumber and so on. Whatever he wants to do, she will help him. Her mind isn’t even aware of that she has no pants on; Maria walks around in just the t-shirt dress, but for Hannah, she always wear pants when there are cameras around – beside from now, when her mind isn’t clear – she isn’t even aware of what she is doing, she just does it as she usually does it. She brings the ingredients to make sandwiches to Kyung Ho sitting by the table, just pointing a finger for him to do that, and then she starts making the rest herself as he is too young to be by the stove and cook. Kyung Ho said he wants to make breakfast; in the end he doesn’t even do half of it but Hannah will make sure he gets the credit. Quietly, she makes breakfast while taking medicine for , and Kyung Ho goes to turn on the TV while making sandwiches and set the table.
