“And what were you two up to yesterday?” Manager Lim’s question to Julia and Emelia makes Hannah look up even if she is upset for the punishment she has been given, curious about what he brings up as this is actually a subject she has wanted to know more about. Julia and Emelia’s fight must have been bigger than Hannah expected, because they both look like they do not want to talk about it. Manager Lim does not look at Hannah. “Well?”

“She started it,” Julia is fast to point across the table at Emelia.

“Ya!”

“Don’t start,” Manager Lim warns them and Emelia closes . Manager Lee is amazed by the power the manager-in-charge has over 5 Pieces. “Julia, since you said the first word, I will let you tell your story first.”

“My mother’s new boyfriend has dumped her, and Emelia doesn’t think I have the right to miss my mother now when she is alone, just because Emelia’s grandmother passed away half a year ago,” Julia says it quickly, and it is basically the same thing Sunny and Yuri told Hannah yesterday – Julia sounds upset over it.

“And…?” Manager Lim moves his hand for her to continue, Julia making a face as she leans back in her chair.

“She threw a shoe at me – high heels.”

“To my defence, it was Carolina’s shoes,” Emelia mentions, saying it as a joke but no one smiles at it. Emelia nods and motions to their glaring manager that she is staying quiet.

“I threw a jacket at her,” Julia continues.

“My jacket,” Carolina mutters.

“Yeah, her jacket… And her…“

“My cell phone.”

Hannah gapes widely at her, her jaw just dropped down on the floor. Maria looks shocked too. “You threw her ing phone?”

“Maria, quiet. Julia, continue,” Manager Lim calmly says and Julia sighs.

“We threw some other things too, okay? Then Sunny stepped in the room and tried to stop us. But it was Emelia who started it all.”

“I did not.”

“You sure did.”

“The hell I did!”

“Ladies!” Manager Lim’s voice stops them from going further, noticing that they were about to throw something again. Hannah is still pouting over that they had been throwing Carolina’s things, and Carolina looks like she is mourning her cell phone that didn’t break other than hurting the shell. “Now this is the problem I have wanted to bring up with your behaviour – it is not acceptable. It is absolutely unacceptable the way you have been behaving lately, how you treat each other and react on others. This is a problem.”

“Appa,” Maria seems so calm, “It’s the end of the year, the pressure for the comeback is hard and exciting, and we are ladies – we go crazy at times. It’s all be gone after New Year, I assure you.”

“You can’t assure me that when you go around threatening people.”

“Then what do you want us to do? You can’t kick us out of the gym like with Hannah because she is the only one going there,” Emelia is upset that they are even having this conversation.

“Watch your tone, Emelia.” It’s Manager Lee telling her that, and Emelia looks at him as if she wants to challenge him. Julia suddenly remembers (but doesn’t say it out loud) that she was the one suggesting it in first place last night to Manager Lee; she wonders if he was the one suggesting it to the agency…

“Ladies, I need you all to understand what I am saying. Your behaviour is unacceptable. I’m not saying I am going to punish you; I am warning you. If you continue like this, you will ruin yourselves and I don’t want that to happen. You don’t want it to happen.”

Hannah knows exactly what he is saying. She leans her head down on the table, hiding herself in her arms when she starts sobbing quietly for herself. It’s bad to punch someone; it is bad to ruin the badass image you have because if you have a badass image already, ruining it will be to destroy yourself. Hannah realises that if it comes out, even just a rumour to the media or among fans that she has punched someone or that they all have been fighting, threatening and throwing things, 5 Pieces is ruined. They won’t be welcomed to work anywhere because no one wants to work with that kind of people, and if that kind of rumour spreads, it can only get worse.

Manager Lim sighs and rubs his hands in his face, troubled by what has happened. Maria knows what he is talking about too, biting her lip when glancing at the members.

“We won at KBS Music Festival yesterday. The first foreigners ever,” Maria tells them all, “We are not screwing this up.”

They all come to the same conclusions. 5 Pieces is making history, they are able to make a change, and there is no way their personal temper is going to ruin that. Manager Lim is satisfied that they have gotten his message, but he is still furious that they even need this conversation. And at the end of it all, Hannah is angry over the gym punishment. Where will she let out her anger from now on? She would want to go to the gym now already, let out her frustration.

After the meeting though, it’s the practice room they go to. They have SBS Music Festival tomorrow, and need to prepare their performances for that. Hannah isn’t in the mood. She isn’t sure if she wants to just lie down and cry or if she wants to go punch a bag.

But they are practicing [WHO-I AM] Remix to perform tomorrow, as well as [Daze]. [WHO-I AM] is a song about winning, about facing the negativity and fall from trying but always standing back up. Mostly it is a song about fighting, which is why just this song just in this moment today give determination to five Swedish ladies to keep working hard, because they are here to stay.

When Hannah starts worrying if the ladies really aren’t going to talk with each other about what has happened, other than talking at the meeting where it was basically just being scolded and told everything they do wrong, Maria brings the subject up to the surface. It is just 5 Pieces in the room at this time, and Maria knew that even if they all become determinate once the music starts, they are quiet and feeling down otherwise because of what is going on; as the leader she says she has to fix it. One by one or all together they get to talk for forty minutes, sitting in the room without being disturbed, no one checking in on them during that time and no one telling them they have to practice. Above it all, 5 Pieces is based on friendship. With two members throwing things at each other and one member punching someone, Maria comes to the conclusion that they haven’t been talking these days. They might have spent all time in the world together, but they haven’t really talked. About their worries, about what is happening with them personally lately; as if they haven’t been together the whole time, and to their surprises, they don’t know what is happening in each other’s lives.

How is it possible that five girls who have spent the whole month working pretty much every single day together does not know what the others are thinking? They have personal issues, tiny ones that they haven’t spoken out loudly to each other that with time has just been building up inside them; thoughts, ideas, things they really want to share but haven’t. It’s not that they feel bad about it other than how they behaved yesterday with the other members being clueless of what was going on, but they are surprised with everything they haven’t said to each other lately.

It is a good refresh: To realise that your friendship is too busy by work to not actually focus on the friendship part.

Forty minutes, that is just the beginning of their talk. 5 Pieces then has to keep practicing, because not until then their manager peeks inside and gets a shock to see them talking instead of practicing.

“Ladies, tonight,” Maria points at them when getting up on her feet. Hannah nods along with them, all of them agreeing that their talk is not over.

Then it starts; practice. For hours they practice, and not just the two main songs. They will have perform other songs tomorrow too. Emelia and Maria will have a solo battle (not really a battle, just a mix of their solo songs of the year) where all five members practices for a [Classic Girls] performance, Maria will also perform [Princess] while Emelia will perform a remix of [Missing] as well as her concert solo song from BLACK & WHITE, which is [Come here]; it will feature rappers like EXO’s Chanyeol and Kris as well as f(x)’s Amber. Julia’s [Party Tonight] will be performed as a remix with SNSD, so the whole day is filled with a bunch of different practices.

 

Julia and Emelia do their solo practice in the evening, when the other three have a radio program to attend. But the whole day has basically been spent practicing, in the back of their minds they have been thinking of their talk too. The radio program is a special visit for the three ladies, who will come and basically talk about their 2013, start to slightly promote their single and express their thoughts of this and that. They go through what to bring up before the radio starts, and Hannah is smilingly sitting next to Maria with Carolina sitting on the leader’s other side and the radio DJ next to Carolina. Like always it starts with some poetic introduction by the DJ reading up what the writers have written about 5 Pieces before saying the names; Carolina, Hannah and Maria. The ladies introduces themselves too before they do the usual formalities with some praising and small chatting.

“2013 has really been the year of 5 Pieces. You have taken the whole world with your song, and I hear you are the top stars in Japan as well,” the female DJ is praising them, “But other than group promotions, you have done a lot of solo activities, haven’t you? Maria is a [Princess]; your solo album really became popular. And Hannah has become an actress this year as well… you are all very busy, but I hear you are making a comeback?...”

It’s Maria who answers, not even glancing at the other two before saying something; “I think we have been a little everywhere in 2013, but we haven’t made a Korean comeback as a group since … a year ago, so… 5 Pieces will begin 2014 by releasing a new single.”

“The concept this time is different. I have seen, all of you have changed your hair colours. It shocked me when I saw your teaser,” the DJ comments.

“5 Pieces is all blonde now,” Carolina mentions with a smile while happily touching her hair with both hands, showing off the new colour.

“What was the members’ reaction over all to get the same hair-colour?”

“It was a lot of talk about our hair,” Maria starts and she gives a pause when Hannah suddenly leans back with a laugh, remembering how they were planning to go for so many different hair-colours when the agency suddenly told everyone to be blonde. “We all wanted to try something different to fit the new concept, and then the agency suggested all of us going blonde-”

“It was very exciting,” Carolina brightly comments.

“Emelia was the most excited,” Maria continues, “thinking her long hair would fit blonde because of her light skin. Actually, all of the members kind of played with the idea, and we are very satisfied with the different … colours of blonde.” Hannah nods, still staying quiet but agreeing with them on everything. The ladies do have fun with all of them being blonde-heads; they keep taking pictures next to each other, thinking it’s hilarious for some reason.

“5 Pieces’ comeback.” The DJ looks up from her papers after reading the whole question for herself, asking it out loudly; “What kind of comeback are you set to make?”

“On January 1st, we are coming out with a single and the music video for [I Want A Man],” Maria clearly explains, “It is … a pre-single for our fourth album that will also come out later in 2014, no exact date has been confirmed though. We have worked very hard on the comeback, to bring our fans a more mature and feminine concept than what we have been able to do before so we hope our fans will take notice of all the hard work we have put through to present this and please be open-minded about the new concept and song.”

“Compared to your previous concepts, is this one the most challenging? I have seen the teasers and it seems to be … how to say it, explosive for 5 Pieces,” the DJ mentions and then adds Hannah’s name for her to answer. Maria turns to Hannah, who quietly clears to answer. Her brain is just going wild about the question, not sure what to say.

“Um…” Since the actual video and song haven’t been revealed, she can’t give away anything. “I think our previous concepts have been very challenging in different ways, and this one is the same too. For each comeback we try to think the mindset that we will make it in our way, 5 Pieces’ way, so we just thought of … taking on the challenge and practice until we’re comfortable with it.”

“I do think,” Carolina starts to add, “that we are very nervous to how our fans will react once it comes out. At this moment, the song and concept is still a little questioning because no one has seen the result, so we are nervous for how people will react at the same time as we are looking forward to it.”

As always, Hannah think her members speak much better than her.

“Starting 2014 with a completely transformation, have you gotten more confident this year with all the awards and activities you have been doing?” the DJ asks.

“Actually,” it’s Maria who answers; “We never expect to receive anything because in our minds, if we do get an award without expecting it, the feeling is much greater. If we expect to get something and then don’t get that, we will feel disappointed. But sure, I think we have gotten confidence because we have received a lot of love from our fans and they keep raising our confidence. That is one of the reasons to why we look forward to make a comeback.”

“You speak so well…” the DJ laughs lightly, admiring the words 5 Pieces’ leader just spoke and Hannah is proud that 5 Pieces have the same thoughts of their work. “Talking about winning, Maria has won a lot on the music programs this year and 5 Pieces together has received a lot of awards and prices. Do you always feel that … unexpected surprise feeling that you talked about; a great feeling?”

“Of course. Because each thing we accomplish is because of our fans love,” Maria warmly answers and Carolina gives out a sound, showing how proud she is over those words.

“Do you always tear up and …?” the DJ slowly says, wanting them to answer as she can’t finish the question.

“I don’t tear up that much,” Carolina answers.

“Carolina is always like that,” Hannah adds with a nod.

“For me, I am pleased to even get nominated,” Maria comments with a smile at the DJ who looks very interested. “Because we started off five years ago, unable to attend certain events and our songs weren’t allowed to enter the music charts. So each time we are nominated next to the other great artists, that is also a kind of award for us – it surprises us a lot actually – so I think we are very happy to be nominated and then over emotional when we do win. Our fans have no stop.”

They laugh at her last sentence before the DJ moves on with the next question, mentioning that 5 Pieces is one of the groups with the most solo activities that are being praised, bringing up all the things 5 Pieces have done on their own in 2013, and she looks up in shock when mentioning that 5 Pieces is the idol who have broken the most records as well: solo album, group activities, book releases, acting, DJ-ing, modelling – the group with the most records in various of fields. “I know you get this question a lot, but how can you manage to be so good at everything? I know for sure that Hannah, last year, got many awards for [I CRY] and all her various of activities, but for the whole group… What has been your reaction when realising you are doing a various of things that get so much attention? Are you even aware of the attention you get?”

“For Hannah, she was taken back a lot when she did her book promotions outside Korea a while back,” Maria mentions, putting a hand on Hannah’s shoulder. “She had been in Japan and had some free time where she went to a bookstore, since her book just had been released there… and within minutes, the place was crowded.”

“Woah! Really?” the DJ sounds so impressed.

“The police had to her out to safety,” Carolina proudly comments and the DJ sounds even more impressed.

“I was really taken back at that time actually,” Hannah is fast to say when Maria holds on tighter to her shoulder and whispers for her to speak. It feels like being threatened to talk while they are praising her. “Because I wasn’t in Japan for any promotions. But I think I was even more taken back when I did promotions in China and was told my book had become Asia’s best selling fantasy novel and such.”

“Woah…” is all the DJ can say.

Maria gives a laugh. “And actually, that same day, Hannah had rushed back to Korea to come to my concert. She had felt really bad for being late when it was my first concert and all, and at the after party, we told her we wanted to congratulate her…”

“Oh my god,” Hannah laughs behind her hand, and Maria is laughing too as this was not scripted but the DJ looks very interested to hear. Hannah keeps laughing, leaning as far away from the microphone as possible and Maria hits her on the leg for her to not be so loud.

“Hannah ran away from the party,” Maria laughs, “She didn’t go hide or anything, she basically left the party without a word because she didn’t want to take the attention away from me as it was my day.” Carolina gives out a sudden laugh, as if she had forgotten about it, and that makes Hannah laugh even more and the DJ laughs lightly while asking Hannah if she really did that.

“I was tired that day,” Hannah giggles to them, and then covers for a second to then apologize to Maria – the others just laughs even more at Hannah apologizing.

“And Maria’s concert was a big success!” the DJ suddenly mentions. “Even Justin Timberlake wants to collaborate with you!”

“Yes, I know,” Maria happily blushes. “I have never met him, but if he asked me personally, I would cross water and fire to collaborate with him.”

“With or without 5 Pieces?” Carolina asks her, taking on the role as an extra DJ.

“Both, if I can. But I wouldn’t turn him down if he wanted just me,” Maria calmly answers, making them laugh again. “I mean … just to meet him, I would never refuse it.”

“So if Justin Timberlake gave you a call to head over to America to hang out with him – just you, without the members – would you go?” the DJ asks, and Carolina is fast to add that 5 Pieces at that time is busy promoting; would she still go?

“Yes.”

“Woah!”

“What would your husband say?” Hannah jokes and laughs widely at the response.

“No one says ‘no’ to meet Justin Timberlake,” Maria quietly answers.

“Talking about your husband, Maria is married… The two of you are very popular on the show. Had you met before the show?” the DJ wonders, all her attention on Maria.

“I met Hyunsuk when he was filming a drama with Hannah last year,” Maria answers, “and Hannah actually knew the whole time he liked me the most of the members-” Hannah can’t help but to laugh at Maria’s confidence to talk about herself “-but not until we met for the show, we really talked.”

“Hannah is the match-maker here. And I heard Hyunsuk was invited to your Halloween party?”

“Ah, it was our 5th year anniversary dinner,” Maria corrects. “He didn’t come on Halloween.”

“Oh… But on Halloween, it was quite a long time ago now, but you all dressed up. It caused quite a stir on SNS… Do you all use SNS a lot?”

“Only Carolina doesn’t use it. Emelia uses our blog a lot, nothing else, but the rest of us use SNS all the time,” Maria answers, “and Halloween was an awesome week. We had so much fun.”

“You all go all-out on your costumes. How did you plan it all? You dressed out about two-three times, did you not?”

“We dressed out for the parties, yeah,” Carolina answers.

“Maria plans the year before what to do,” Hannah comments and Maria nods, but when the DJ asks what she wants to be next year, Maria says she can’t give it away.

“Then how did you plan it this year, your costumes?”

“I went the easy way,” Hannah answers. “Through SNS I asked my fans what to dress out like, and I got a lot of suggestions.”

“Hannah’s outfit was really …” the DJ tries to find the word and Maria is fast to say;

“Hannah went overboard with her outfit. She even went outside to give bread to our fans, almost frightening them.”

“Hey, you were the one scaring everyone with your outfit,” Hannah pouts. “She was a monster. Really terrifying”

“I planned it in my head,” Maria coolly answers. “I gave suggestions to Emelia and Julia too. I love Halloween, so I’m probably the one making the others dress out.”

“And while Maria sees Halloween as her holiday, Christmas is Carolina’s,” Hannah giggles, all by herself having fun with giggling.

The conversation just keeps going wildly, the ladies talk about baking and decorating and opening presents and doing it all together. They talk about Carolina wanting to do solo promotions and a little more about Maria’s solo promotions, not bringing up the other members at all. They listen to music in between as well, and one of the songs is Christina Aguilera’s [Your Body]. As soon as the song starts playing, Maria forgets Hannah is there because the youngest has no intention of joining the other’s conversation now during the break but instead quietly sings along to the song. Throughout the song she sings along for herself, but she avoids certain parts that she thinks are a little too much, such as *we’re moving faster than slow, if you don’t know where to go, I’ll finish off on my own* because … that is not something she ever sings. Though Hannah is so focused on herself there, the live-video feed for viewers to watch the radio-show, the fans will take notice of her “innocent” image even more, saying that even if she has a boyfriend and is y on the stage, 5 Pieces’ youngest is still the youngest.

“We have talked about 5 Pieces and your many solo activities as well as all the fun you have had in 2013,” the DJ says after one of the last breaks is done. “Something I am curious to know is that Hannah … has created quite the headlines this year. You are the youngest in 5 Pieces yet you are in a public relationship with another idol, and the two of you seem to be really sweet together. Do the other members give any advice?”

“We a lot,” Maria honestly answers, knowing Hannah is blushing wildly now. Have they ever talked about it on radio before? “I don’t think we can give much relationship-advice, but-”

“They love to give their comments, all the time,” Hannah quietly interrupts with a shy smile.

“Isn’t it difficult to meet up now, when everyone knows about your relationship?” the DJ calmly wonders.

“Um… I don’t think it has changed the way we meet up, because we are just as busy as we were before it came out…” Hannah quietly answers, glancing at her members.

“As I have heard it, you all struggled when the news came out about you being in a relationship, that you had to reveal the truth because of the pushing rumours?”

Maria takes on the leader role without questioning, very well answering; “Within a few days, I think about ten or more articles came out with rumours about Hannah being in a relationship. It was proof here and denial there, and during the time we were promoting in Japan so we just hoped it would pass by. But with it just growing and growing, we got calls from the agency in Korea and it was a lot of issues as we all had to consider how to handle it. I think it was tougher because we were in another country and couldn’t gather and talk about it all together, but both Hannah and Jonghyun decided together to reveal it because neither one wanted to deny the truth, as it sooner or later would come out anyway. It was a tough decision because they both had to keep in mind of the other members, so the first weeks after that … I think…”

Hannah smiles softly when Maria looks at her, their eyes saying even more to each other than what actually is being said.

“It was difficult mostly for Hannah, I think,” Maria calmly says and looks back at the DJ.

“It’s worth it though,” Carolina tries to lighten the mood a bit. Hannah’s smile widens when she leans forward to glance at her, wondering where Carolina’s mind is to say those words.

“We will listen to another song and then come back for the last segment that I don’t think anyone wants to miss,” the DJ says before saying the name of the radio and that the guests are 5 Pieces.

During the song, they prepare for the segment. And after the song, the DJ explains the segment for all the listeners. The three ladies will call a celebrity friend and have a speed-quiz about them selves, and the one who gets the least right is given a penalty. During the song, the ladies have decided who to call and given the numbers to the producer for the call to be heard on the radio. It was a lot of thoughts behind who to call because the ladies need someone who can answer the phone. Carolina calls Miss A’s Suzy, who most of the time just asks ‘what? What?’ and laughs when figuring out after the quiz what it is about – Suzy got one right. Maria calls Sooyung from SNSD, and she calls her soul mate for a good reason. Sooyoung gets four out of five correct, just because she did not know when her birthday is (but she does know her favourite colour, the name of her first pet, what kind of drink she prefers… a lot) and Hannah calls the person that everyone asks her to call; her boyfriend.

“What is he doing now, you think?” the DJ asks Hannah (the DJ is overly excited about this) when the call is going through.

“He is probably practicing for the music festivals,” Hannah quietly answers, her stomach filled with butterflies, throat completely dry and she can’t even swallow while staring down at the paper with the questions she will ask. She is troubled that this was planned for her to call him, Hannah just panicking because she has no idea of how he will be like on the phone. She lowers her head as the tones go through, and no one is answering. Maria laughs, saying how fun it would be if he didn’t answer.

And then, like a bomb exploding in Hannah, he answers the phone. He sounds like he ran to the phone, answering with one word, repeating it several of times as if he feared she was going to hang up.

“Jonghyun, my age when I debuted?” Hannah quickly asks, automatically smiling when hearing his voice.

“16,” he answers without even thinking (right!), and Maria is rolling back in the chair with a laugh at how fast he catches up.

“My blood type?” Hannah is still panicking in her voice, hurrying up.

“Same as me, AB,” Jonghyun calmly answers. She can hear a smile in his voice, imagining it in her head how he looks like.

“My favourite food?”

“Chicken salad,” Jonghyun answers and Carolina sounds impressed as he gets that one right too.

“If I was a boy, which member of 5 Pieces would I want to date?”

“Oh…” he thinks for just a second, “Julia?”

The sound that he is wrong comes out at the same time Hannah asks the final question and for that she has to repeat it; “What is my first subject in school? Worse subject?” her Korean gets horrible and Jonghyun chuckles as he notices that even over the phone.

“Math,” he still answers calmly, but that one is wrong.

“3 out of 5,” the DJ reveals before introducing herself and what is happening to Jonghyun. “Jonghyun-shii, what are you doing now?”

“I’m practicing. I didn’t hear the phone at first,” he admits. Hannah can’t stop smiling, her cheeks red and she hopes her face is turned away from the cameras so they won’t catch that.

“Jonghyun-shii, you knew without a doubt how old Hannah was when she debuted,” the DJ mentions.

“Yes, I do,” he confidently answers. “It was five years ago and she is now 21 years old.”

“Oooh… What did you say is Hannah’s favourite food?”

“Chicken salad,” he confidently answers again and Hannah opens for a silent laugh, not daring to say anything while Maria comments it is something a lot of people know. The DJ still asks Jonghyun about it, and also that he says chicken salad because Hannah had just written salad. “Hannah likes a lot of food, but she never say no to chicken salad.”

“You said math was her worst subject in school,” the DJ mentions and Hannah is fast to tell him the right answer is physics.

“But you are really bad at math,” Jonghyun points out. Hannah pouts, because he is right.

“She is,” Maria agrees with him.

“I wasn’t good at anything in school,” Hannah admits and Jonghyun laughs clearly on the phone. Her heart is blushing, looking at the others as if they can see the pink blush shoot through her body.

“And about which member she would date…”

“Julia was wrong?” Jonghyun sounds surprised, as he had heard the bell tell him that.

“The answer was ‘none’, I would choose none,” Hannah answers him.

“Ah, really? Hannah and Julia get along really well, so I thought she would say that,” Jonghyun explains.

“She gets along well with me too,” Maria mutters to him.

“You think?” Jonghyun jokes.

The DJ laughs at them. “Jonghyun-shii, thank you for taking our call”

In the end it’s Carolina who takes the penalty; pay the beverages they get to the staff.

 

That night, 5 Pieces sit down in the living-room with their pets to continue their talk. Five minutes become two hours, and Hannah had texted Jonghyun after the radio to apologize for the sudden call but he just gives her a call and impress how surprised he was and asking about it. When he asks if he can come over, Hannah without any problem says she has to be with the ladies – no matter what he says, she will spend the night with her members, because that is what they need. Eventually, Jonghyun understands. It is 5 Pieces above anything else, everyone knows that, it is just that 5 Pieces need to remind themselves that they aren’t just a pop group 5 Pieces – they are best friends 5 Pieces too. Above it all, they are best friends, and tonight they talk it through in hopes to finish 2013 being the original 5 Pieces.

“It’s obvious, you know,” Emelia groans when stretching out on the sofa, her feet over Carolina’s legs.

“No, it’s not,” Hannah mutters. She is sitting on the floor, cuddling with Michin. Maria has gone to the bathroom and Julia is yawning in the sofa Hannah is leaning her back against. They have been talking for almost three hours now, their hearts as light as a feather from getting to bring up all the things they have had in mind.

“But that’s why Jonghyun is so good,” Julia mentions, getting the others attention to even open about this subject. “What? We all know Hannah isn’t the girlfriend-type. She is too negative to think that another person would care enough for her, yet, Jonghyun is doing that. He knows the truth and tries to make her realise how much he cares for her.”

“How come you know more about my relationship than I do?” Hannah sighs, not that she completely agrees with them other than she is too negative. Most of the fights she has had with Jonghyun has probably been because she is too naïve and negative to imagine he is taking her seriously, while he gets upset that she can’t see the truth. It’s annoying for her to know that she hasn’t even talked much about Jonghyun with the members together but still they know everything.

Emelia chuckles at Hannah’s question. “Because we observe it, watch from a distance,” the rapper coolly answers. “And guys are drooling after you, so he has a point in being protective too.”

Right away, Hannah thinks of what Jihyun had said. Whenever Hannah talks to a male idol, she is caught up in some scandal. The only guy Jonghyun ever has gotten jealous of is Honggi though, and there he has had his reasons as well. Hannah pouts for herself when thinking of all the horrible things she has done, how childish she has been, but Jonghyun is still there, still treating her in a way she do not deserve.

“What are we talking about?” Maria asks when coming inside the living-room, jumping in the third sofa where Ace is sleeping.

“Our naïve cry-baby’s relationship,” Emelia answers with a smirk. She looks so comfortable lying there in the sofa, stretching out her legs over Carolina and one arm stretching out above her head.

“Aaah… he was really sweet when we called him on the radio,” Maria mentions. “And I’m sure fans are going nuts that he answered the questions so well.”

“Sooyoung answered your questions better,” Hannah comments.

“Yeah, but we are soul mates,” Maria chuckles, a little too happy that Sooyoung had done so well.

“I’m still surprised he knew your favourite food; not even I know that,” Carolina mutters.

“Thsk. Jonghyun probably studies everything about Hannah to please her,” Emelia jokes, laughing when Hannah throws a pillow at her. “What? I mean, seriously, what kind of guy knows his girlfriend’s favourite kind of food when you have probably never eaten it before?”

“We talk a lot,” Hannah shrugs her shoulders.

“She’s protecting him,” Julia giggles, poking a foot on Hannah’s shoulder.

“I am not,” the youngest whines in response

“You sure are,” Julia teases, poking her again and laughs when Hannah tries to hit her.

“I like it though,” Maria says out of the blue, getting their attention just because she had said it so quietly. “That Hannah’s first real boyfriend is someone like him. And he knows we are serious when we threaten him, which is important because Hannah is a rollercoaster to be with.”

Hannah whines loudly at the conversation, knowing she is not girlfriend-material and that Jonghyun is too good to be true and that her members love to as well as threaten him, but they don’t really have to openly discuss it. She gets overjoyed when the subject changes to Maria; Emelia asks what the leader is now going to do when her own “husband” will get out of the picture, since their time on We Got Married is ending after New Year. On that subject, Hannah happily joins; since it is about another member. But Maria is so cool about it, saying she will definitely keep harassing Hyunsuk through text messages, for him to not miss her as much. The leader always knows how to say.
