Chapter 76 - Let's Go, Osaka!

Youngest of Pieces: Five Years in History (9)

In the midst of whirring sound of voices there is low music playing in the corner of the dressing room, playing a Japanese ballad song by 5 Pieces. A low voice is singing along outside the recorded version, her ears blocking the sound from the rest of the room to focus on the song she is singing along to. Carolina’s shoulder-long hair was dyed deep red for last weekend’s photo shoot in Malaysia, and it is now styled with heavy locks to fit the outfit and make-up she is wearing. Black is not a favourite colour for this lady, but the outfit that she is wearing fits her members and she thinks that whenever the whole girl-group are wearing the same outfit, they look great. On her feet she is wearing high heeled ankle boots, a pair of boots that she, Julia and Maria all wears; her legs are bare in a black v-neck playsuit, long sleeves that also Hannah has while the others have no sleeves. So much is similar between the five outfits, yet there are small details for each member to stand out. Carolina is practicing by herself to the Japanese lyrics. She is confident in her voice and she is usually confident in the lyrics too, but you can never practice too much. To sing in Japanese is something Carolina will probably never learn; she thinks the long words are confusing and complicated.

Someone who has easier for Japanese than Korean, Hannah is the most confident in the language than anything else. The long, straight pastel pink hair is constantly touched by her fingers as she is getting ready for their first concert day in Osaka. Hannah is wearing over-the-knee boots matching Emelia’s pairs, and added to her v-neck playsuit is a layered skirt that probably will confuse fans if it is a skirt or shorts, but the layered skirt gives her and hip the glamorous figure she is known for having. Though she has lost some weight recently the suit matches her and it isn’t sitting tight, and the only revealing part is the v-neck that all five ladies share.

Instead of sharing the confidence that most of the ladies have before a concert or performance, Hannah is worried she will mess up. Rehearsals went kind of okay, her voice was exhausted for the last songs and still their concert is just one and a half hour (which is short compared to their previous concerts through the years). But as she has promised herself, Hannah reminds herself constantly that it will go well, that she knows the songs and the choreographies, she knows how to sing her parts … only to go back into her slumber for a few minutes before reminding herself of being 5 Pieces’ shy and happy youngest. Back and forth, back and forth her mind travels, yet on the outside she only looks nervous preparing for the stage.

“It’s so crowded,” Julia giggles, jumping inside the room after taking a glance through the curtains at the crowd entering the arena.

The short spiky hair makes her almost look crazy jumping in excitement like that, and several of the voices in the room tell her to change into her high heeled boots. A voice talks to Hannah too, in fact it is three, and she nods at them all. The hour before a concert are always the same: your excitement builds up into thousand of tiny butterflies in your stomach, you have people making sure your hair, make-up, clothes and accessories look good, a teacher is helping you to warm up your voice and a trainer is busy telling you to warm up your body, and at the same time as all these people are talking to prepare each five members of the group, the five ladies are busy preparing in their own ways by going through the songs or choreography or like Maria, taking pictures.

Hannah talks in Japanese when getting out of the room, speaking to their Japanese manager who has come joined them for these Japanese promotions. The youngest stops her steps down the corridor, talking to the manager but listening for the other members to come along too; for once she is actually the first one prepared.

Coming after her are the other members, elegant and charismatic in the black outfits and high heels echoing in the corridor, their voices echoing just as much. They aren’t going to the stage now; it’s the press-conference.

Last year when 5 Pieces were doing their Japan Arena Tour it was a lot of journalists from Japan and Korea, which it is today too, but just as last year there are some foreign journalists as well. Last year no journalists outside Asia were allowed to attend the press-conference, while this year it is quite obvious that 5 Pieces has earned world-wide attention as they next week will attend billboard music awards. The focus is still on Japan, which is why Hannah is practicing with her manager heading to the press-conference.

For two days they have been in Japan practicing for the concert, rehearsing it on the stage to be prepared to have a live concert for four days. 5 Pieces have adapted to the stage, they are prepared for the concert – they are professionals, this is what they do. Including sitting down in front of a hundreds of cameras and journalists, looking pretty for pictures and with smooth voices answering questions and explaining the reason they are having this concert.

“Last year we had a lot of promotions in Japan with album and single releases and also an arena tour, which all was very fun, while this year we will focus our promotions to Korea… You could say we want to thank our fans by putting together our greatest Japanese songs so far in this concert,” Hannah is fluently answering a question in Japanese.

“The notice of this concert was short and fans panicked as soon as the tickets were releases. It was scheduled for a three-day concert at first but you added a fourth day. How does that feel? Did the preparations for the concert change?” a Japanese journalist asks them.

Without glancing next to her, Hannah answers this question too, only because Emelia gave a nod and kept the microphone in her knee (not showing a sign of answering) so Hannah takes it; “The preparations for the concert was just as panicked as it was for the fans to get the tickets,” she starts off as a joke and the journalists laughs lightly along, letting her smile. “The added day didn’t change the preparations much at all; we have worked very hard to be able to show our best performances for these days so we hope the fans will forget the panic as they enjoy the concert with us.”

“We are always impressed by our fans too,” Emelia slowly adds and she nods when Hannah nods in agreement, “Our Japanese fans have supported us since our debut in Korea, which means a lot for us, we’re very touched and honoured to have a fourth day added to the concert that is only thanks to our fans.”

The questions continue. “5 Pieces’ popularity has reached the whole world, you will be attending an American award show soon and you are releasing your fourth album in Korea as well. A lot of fans in Japan are worried that this concert will be your last in a long time, and a lot of people are wondering; will you have a long hiatus from Japan when this concert ends?”

“Um…” Hannah starts off in a low voice and she looks at her members, Emelia sitting next to her whispers for her before Hannah says; “I can not say if we will have a long hiatus or not, but at the moment we are planning to promote a lot in Korea, there has not be said anything about a hiatus in Japan. Along with our fourth Korean album we are planning a tour as well, so I think our fans can look out for a stop in Japan… I think our Japanese fans know that they are very precious for us 5 Pieces, so we will try to meet frequently if possible.”

“Yes, the Japanese fans are always reminded because you treat us all so warmly,” the journalists friendly says and Hannah smiles in agreement, starting to giggle by herself.

Another journalists starts to ask; “5 Pieces is currently active in the show Good Sister, which is airing and us very popular here in Japan too. In one episode you all went to Japan with your little brother and enjoyed Tokyo, is there another place in Japan that you would like to show him, a place you like? This question is to Hannah.”

Hannah glances at Carolina on her left but asks Emelia on her right what place she would like to show Kyung Ho. Emelia brings the microphone to her lips to say in Japanese;

“Kyung Ho is actually coming here to Osaka tomorrow…”

“Ah…” Hannah laughs and Emelia smiles at the youngest catching up. “I think every city in Japan that we have visited is worth to show for a visitor; last time we saw a few things in Tokyo and this time we will look around in Osaka if we have the time. Maybe we will go through one city at a time; I can’t really come up with just one place I think would be fun to visit because there are so many places in Japan worth seeing.”

Emelia is smiling proudly for making Hannah’s voice come out strongly talking about this, rather than having her pausing in between wondering what to say.

Moving on, they talk about the songs they will perform. Emelia gets to answer the question and say there will only be Japanese hits, and without mentioning it she hope that their last song [Daze] will be a surprise for the fans as it is not a Japanese song even if it has been popular in Japan.

It takes time, but the press-conference comes to an end and 5 Pieces head backstage to now prepare for the concert to begin. Headset microphones are put on, two people helping out with that, and the ladies are together warming up their voices singing acapella together. The press-conference is like a warm-up for the stage; you speak Japanese and face the media, you get prepared for what will come, though the ladies by now know that the press-conference is like 1/10 of what will come.

The last twenty minutes passes by quickly and soon Hannah is stretching her back and limbs next to the stage. A camera filming for a special broadcast or a news program calmly walks up to her after asking questions to Julia and Emelia, the camera-man asks in Japanese how she is feeling.

“I’m nervous,” Hannah honestly answers in Japanese, smiling at him when he comments she should be used to this. “The feeling before a concert will always be the same, just because it is precious to have so many people coming to see us, which is why I am nervous – it’s good to be nervous. I am very excited, it will be fun. I look forward to go up there.”

She is showing a big smile, shaking her body while talking, unable to hide that she actually looks forward to go up there. It’s not to show what they have prepared, not this time, now she wants to go up there and enjoy the time performing with her members and fans.

She keeps smiling when getting up to her members gathering together, hands held in the middle.

“Let’s have fun and enjoy the stage,” Maria says in Japanese to the members who are agreeing. “Don’t be stressed, let’s have fun. Yay!”

All five ladies does the Japanese cheer together; “Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go! 5 PIECES!” And they throw up their hands and claps their hands when going to the stage in a hurry, the staff told them to get moving.

In front of the stage, the whole arena is filled with fans calling them selves Puzzle. Some holding up signs, all of them having glowing sticks, some are dressed up after a concept 5 Pieces have had – there are a lot of people, devoted to 5 Pieces.

The place goes dark and the introduction video opens up the concert, fans starting off screaming at the picture of each member coming up, just like the opening of any concert. Slowly the video ends, the whole stage is black and all you can see in the arena are the purple glowing sticks looking like a glimmering ocean. A rock melody begins to play in the dark and the crowd automatically begins screaming, carefully a platform on the stage gives light to the fans when rising up in the dark, drums begins to join in as Maria’s voice is heard in a challenging tone;

*Heeeeeeeey…….*

The audience have gone quiet, waving their glowing sticks to the simple beat and Maria’s voice.

Tall and beautiful, Maria stands up on the platform in her black outfit, wearing a layered coat in black glitter and her blonde hair is caught on the screen surrounding by all that black, mysterious and charismatic. Fire shoots up as the spotlights are all across the stage and the rock version blasts through along with Maria’s rocking high tone shouting;

*AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!*

She rocks along her body after the shout, her eyes piercing over the crowd excitedly waving their glowing sticks. The music is loud and makes the ground shake, and Maria fills it out with another flawless shout, the fire shooting up at the same time;

*AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!*

Maria nods her head to the rock music, the rock version of last year’s hit [Run Out] that they played during their tour. The camera captures her smirk out at the audience before someone starts to sing coolly to the music; Hannah appears on another platform, throwing her hand up in the air and keeping it there while dramatically doing her part, the fans cheering at the pink hair.

*RUN OUT IF YOU CAN!

MY GUILTY PLAYFULNESS, YOU WALK MY WAY…

I’m not going to stay, even if love comes my way

You better run now from me, baby, run for your life*

The high tones does not stop her and her face-expression is almost as charismatic as Maria’s, not making it all the way as she focuses on the cool singing. As soon as Hannah’s part ends, she and Maria begins to head back at the same time as Emelia makes her entrance at the centre of the stage, cool and dark she begins with her perfect rock shouting;

*RUN OUT

I’M NOT GOING TO STAY

BABY RUN!*

[Carolina] *Every day you get up from beeed

With hopes I might come

YOU WANNA SEE ME AGAIN*

[Julia] *Lost in the memories

Can I hold your hand and be your guide?*

The ladies look terrifying performing the rock version, their voices melts in with each other but each member makes her own charismatic appearance on the stage of the intro. While the rock version continues, it becomes cooler when 5 Pieces begins to sing the song together, Hannah singing her own part at the same time, ruffling her hair and just going with the flow.

*You might think I am your sweet girl ([Hannah] Clouds fill the sky, stars get blocked from your sight)

Or your beautiful girlfriend ([Hannah] Capture my heart again)

Either way we, should not RUN OUT ([Hannah] I’ll do my best to not run away!)*

[Maria] *Somebody told me

I’m too good to be true!

[Emelia] TURN MY HEART ON*

*I could be your sweet girl,

Or your beautiful girlfriend

Either way I~~

Should not RUN OUT on you now~~~*

Shouting out their last lines, 5 Pieces’ voices ends the song charismatically and the music beats to its end. The audience begins cheering when the song has ended and everything goes black for a few seconds; during that time 5 Pieces takes off the coats, leaves the microphones on their hands to only use the headset microphones and when the actual song [Run Out] begins to play in the arena, 5 Pieces are walking out from the back, filled with charisma. Hannah at the centre begins to dance, moving her hip from side to side dancing and pulling off the feminine charisma with her members, seeing the purple ocean before them. Emelia looks proud when she stops to dance with her hips, bringing the microphone to and instead of doing her usual ‘turn my heart on’ she shouts out; “Osaka, let’s go!” in Japanese. The sight of their colour widening out in front of the stage lightens their hearts in a way only their fans can do, and Hannah is holding back a smile when she begins to sing in Japanese.

*Every time you open your eyes - Hope fills your heart - And you get out of your mind*

[Carolina] *Every day you get up from beeed - With hopes I might come - YOU WANNA SEE ME AGAIN*

[Julia] *Lost in the memories - Can I hold your hand and be your guide?*

[Hannah] *Clouds fill the sky, - Stars get blocked from your sight - Capture my heart again, - I’ll do my best to not run away*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *You might think I am your sweet girl,

Or your beautiful girlfriend

Either way we, should not RUN OUT ([Emelia] TURN MY HEART ON)

I could be your sweet girl,

Or your beautiful girlfriend

[Maria] Somebody told me,

I’m too good to be true

[Hannah] My guilty playfulness is going my way

I’m not going to stay, baby we are floating on air

I could be your sweet girl,

Or your beautiful girlfriend

[Hannah] Either way I, should not RUN OUT on you now*

Dancing to this song is simple as long as you remember to fill out the movements with your body; the rest just comes with it. 5 Pieces performs the whole song live with their headset microphones, happy for their fans who are there and excited with the spotlights and effects on the stage.

Performing their hit songs, they start off with [Run Out] – their number one in Japan so far – and continue with their Korean debut song (part of their second Japanese single) [Moon Child]. The first ballad is [Let Me Be Yours], 5 Pieces turn their headset microphones down to sing the song with a microphone in hand instead, and after that they do their introductions. It’s brief, and followed up by another dance track – [Secret Touch].

It moves on, each second Hannah is enjoying the view and to be performing on the stage. They perform [Once Upon a Time], another dance track that originally is a Korean song, then last year’s [Away] from their drama followed by dance track [Sleeper], and then it is the ballads [When There Is No Tomorrow] and [Life, Life, Life]. At that point, Hannah’s voice is starting to get tired. She pulls through the dance song [Let Me Love]; almost starting to cough two times but manages to pull through before a video begins so the ladies can go backstage. Hannah drinks water to flow through , but has to hurry up on the stage again as it is her and Emelia’s song that they will perform. [For a Lifetime] is a fun song, charismatic and a little hip with Emelia’s rap, but Hannah sings mostly for it – an OST song for Emelia’s first Japanese drama two years ago. They have performed it at concerts before with all five members, but have returned to the first version for this concert.

The music begins for the song, Emelia says a few words in her dark voice while walking up on the stage.

“Are you all ready?!” she cheers between her parts. *This is…*

“Woah!” Hannah cheers and comes up too. For this song it is clear what they do; Hannah is the vocalist and Emelia is the rapper. Hannah has a lot of adlibs and Emelia has her cool words pushed in here and there, and the audience cheers as the tow ladies walks up from their own part of the stage, moving along to the beat and doing their own adlibs.

With a strong charismatic voice, Hannah moves across the stage singing her part, a microphone by her lips and moving forward as if she really owns the stage. It’s fun acting to the song, doing a hand movement there and a fun adlib there. Certain parts are toned down by Hannah halfway through the song, the actual singing is harder than the unique adlibs; at least the audience doesn’t notice her voice being tired already because her adlibs are just as they are on the recorded version. And in the middle of it, Emelia steps forward with her awesome rapping. It’s all about Hannah and Emelia here, the two childhood friends smiling and moving their shoulders together side by side for the song. Emelia puts her arm around Hannah for a part too before they walk away to join up a few seconds later. It’s fun, the adlibs at the end are harder for Hannah than she expected and she laughs as soon as the song ends as she had personally been prepared for her voice to break but just at that time Emelia had for fun shouted out too and Hannah’s voice was not heard.

Laughing outside the microphone, Hannah claps her hands together two times before calling out;

“Osaka!”

The audience cheers and she waves her hand up in the air, taking a few steps back. It’s Emelia who says in Japanese;

“Let’s move on with the next song right away. Where are our ladies?” and she points over at the other three coming out as the next song starts off. Shania Twain’s [Man! I Feel Like A Woman] – the song 5 Pieces covered last year for their Japanese mini-drama – and Maria playfully jumps around saying ‘let’s go girls!’ and they take their positions to playfully and teasingly perform the song. Hannah doesn’t have as many parts in this song as she has in their other Japanese songs (this one is in English, but is counted as their Japanese song) so she can focus on having fun moving around with her members on the stage than her voice.

Cutely they perform [I Love You] the Japanese version, smiling endlessly because of the fan-chanting.

Out of breath and in smiles, the next talk begins. They joke and talk in Japanese, talk about their time in Japan, how fun it is to perform for their fans, about mistakes they have made (especially Carolina because they love to make fun of her) and they laugh a lot for a good reason; their fans are loud now when the music has stopped and it is just 5 Pieces entertaining them with their humour. Almost an hour has passed by now, which means there are not many songs left. It has gone faster than expected; Hannah’s voice shows that it has been an hour of live singing and dancing while her mind is missing half an hour of it, but it is so much fun to perform in front of fans like this. The Japanese fans are a lot quieter than fans in other countries, that is when you are performing, otherwise they are just as loud. Carefully they wrap up the talk and clear their voices, asking fans if it’s okay if they do a song without any music in the background – the fans knows it is an acapella by that request. The ladies perform [What Would It Look Like], acapella version, which they do beautifully that the audience is almost sobbing along.

With a short video, the ladies get to sit down backstage for half a minute before they get up to cheerfully perform [Knockout], the main song for their mini-drama. They laugh when performing it, in such a great mood thanks to their fans that they can’t help it. The song comes to an end, and it is now five songs left to perform – only dance tracks left. While they had been rehearsing for the concert the ladies had all agreed on that they need more Japanese ballads.

“Our next song…” Emelia starts to introduce in Japanese, but is interrupted by Carolina and Julia cheerfully cheering;

“LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!” and Hannah joins in to clap her hands two times.

They get quiet after that, blinking at Emelia as if they realised they had interrupted her, but the audience is already cheering and even singing the next part, repeating it. Hannah laughs at the audience catching up on it so fast, and with her members they clap their hands two times in rhythm and chants out together;

“LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!” clap, clap. “LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!”

“Everyone!” Hannah cheers brightly in the headset microphone, receiving a loud cheer in response. “Let’s keep our hearts and minds happy this year!”

She does a heart-shape with her hands and laughs with her members. Maria shouts out, “LET’S GO!” before the playful song of the same name begins to play, the same part that they just chanted begins again, but in the track this time;

*LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!* clap, clap *LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!* clap, clap

*LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO! … LET’S GO!*

[Hannah] *HEY, boys and girls, are you ready? READY! This time is the time,

[Maria] We will shine, we will glow - so let’s go!*

[Julia] *This is our PARTY TIME - It’s the best DANCE TIME

[Carolina] Get up on your feet and start moving - Sing with me, have a GOOD TIME*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *Oh-la-la EVERYDAY, everyday show a smile - At times I look like an idiot

But to have fun, oh-la-la - Let’s go, to only better times, let’s go*

[Carolina] *3… 2… 1… GO!*

[Emelia] *Crazy, crazy, crazy, let’s go out of our mind dancing

[Maria] AMAZING, [Hannah] your dance, my HEART, [Julia] the best*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *Oh-la-la EVERYDAY, everyday show a smile - At times I look like an idiot

But to have fun, oh-la-la - Let’s go, to only better times, let’s go*

[Emelia] *HEY, boys and girls, are you ready? READY! This time is your time,

[Carolina] Just to shine, just to glow - So let’s go!*

[Hannah] *BELIEVE ME, it can only get better, [Maria] If you let your soul free, PARTY TIME

We have the best DANCE TIME! [Hannah] Are you ready? 3… 2… 1…*

[Maria] *Crazy, crazy, crazy, let’s go out of our mind dancing

[Emelia] Amazing, [Julia] your dance, my HEART, [Carolina] the best*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *Oh-la-la EVERYDAY, everyday show a smile - At times I look like an idiot

But to have fun, oh-la-la - Let’s go, to only better times, let’s go*

*LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!* clap, clap *LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!* clap, clap *LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO! ([Hannah] Are you ready?)* clap, clap

*LET’S GO, PIECES, LET’S GO!* clap, clap, *[Maria] I ASK YOU! Are you ready?!*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *Oh-la-la EVERYDAY, everyday show a smile - At times I look like an idiot

But to have fun, oh-la-la - Let’s go, to only better times, let’s go*

*Crazy, crazy, crazy, let’s go out of our mind dancing

Amazing, [Emelia] your dance, my HEART, the best*

[CHORUS, 5 Pieces] *Oh-la-la EVERYDAY, everyday show a smile - At times I look like an idiot

But to have fun, oh-la-la - Let’s go, to only better times, let’s go*

[Hannah] *3… 2… 1… LET’S GO!*

Maybe because it is the most recent song, but the audience seem to really jump through the whole song, making it easier for 5 Pieces to bounce around on the stage for it too.

They get exhausted after the next three songs; dance tracks [You Said a Lie], [Bad Girls] and [090], a video played before [Bad Girls]. They dance really good together, looking charismatic thanks to the crew and the ladies say before [090] that it is the last song. Thanking everyone who has worked on this concert and to all the fans, the ladies wave their hands and bow a few times before heading off the stage.

The first day has been so much fun, the audience never seems to get bored and they indeed seemed like they didn’t want the concert to end. Hannah’s voice is exhausted though, her body is fine, she is sweaty but that is something she is used to on the stage. It is fun but her voice need rest, and the concert really isn’t over yet.

Carolina hurries up on the stage first, acting cute to the fans when saying she doesn’t want it to be over just yet either.

“Carolina, what are you doing?” Maria comes also back up on the stage, scolding Carolina who repeats that she doesn’t want it to end. The audience can’t stop screaming, not wanting it to end either.

“Why did you walk back here?” Emelia comes up too, followed by Hannah who laughs at how bad they are at acting. Hannah turns around to hold out her hand for Julia who comes up to them too, asking what’s going on.

“Carolina says it’s not over,” Maria tells the ladies in Japanese, pointing to Carolina as if accusing her that they are on the stage even if the concert has ended.

“They said it,” Carolina points out at the audience.

“No, they didn’t,” Emelia sighs and turns to the audience. “Do you want to hear another song?”

Hannah is fast to hold out her microphone, and she grimaces and nods when the audience shouts out “YES!”

“See, they don’t want another song,” Emelia tells Carolina, and the audience really growls out that they want an encore. Emelia laughs, saying she can hear them and the girls are just joking around.

“But we don’t have any more songs,” Hannah tells them, and fans starts whining.

“Maybe… we can do that song?” Julia suggests, looking from one member to the other with a face-expression that puts it on a specific song in her sentence. Maria looks doubtful.

“I’m not sure they know it,” Emelia shakes her head too, the audience asking what song it is and telling them they know it without even knowing which song they mean. Hannah loves it. The ladies are just teasing now, and the audience is so loud wanting another song. Emelia puts a hand on her hip, saying she is imitating Maria to let the fans know why she is making such a diva grimace and she asks in Japanese to the audience; “Are you sure you know the song? Do you even know which song we mean?”

“Emelia…” Hannah pouts, taking a step over to the rapper to touch her shoulder, “Do not doubt our fans.”

“YES!” Carolina cheers randomly and the audience that had been responding to Hannah’s cute pout suddenly laughs at Carolina’s comment.

“Fine, fine, if you think they know it,” Emelia says and lifts her hands up to show she gives up.

Hannah smiles cutely at their fans before hurrying to take her position. The moment 5 Pieces turns their backs against the crowd, [Daze] begins to play majestically, and this time the crowd can not hold back their screaming. 5 Pieces teased because it is the song they are known for worldwide by now, of course their fans knows the song, and Emelia looks like she was really teasing the fans when she charismatically says;

*Dazzle… Stun… Daze…*

[Carolina] *5 Pieces*

“Let’s go, Osaka!” Emelia roars a second before they start dancing; Maria begins to sing the English song.

If the fans had been excited for [Let’s Go!], they are insane for [Daze]. 5 Pieces go insane too, giving all the energy they have left to this final song, shouting out the lyrics and throwing their body-parts in the choreography, throwing their hairs around and going insane with their fans.

Completely drained on energy, Hannah breathes out with a hand covering the headset microphone for it to not be heard over the arena once the song has ended. She is smiling out at the audience, sweaty and happy, and they are waving back at the ladies.

“We in 5 Pieces are always thankful for all the love and support we receive from our fans,” Hannah says in Japanese as final words, sweaty and smiling; “Always giving your all, we do our best to live up to all your love. Thank you so much for coming here tonight to our first out of four day concert in Osaka, get home safely and we love you all so much! You’re really the best! Osaka, thank you!”

“See you again!” Maria happily waves her hand in the air too.

“You, put me in a daze,” Carolina randomly says in English, pointing a finger out over the audience. Hannah laughs and Maria pushes Carolina on the side before grabbing her arm to give a group-bow.

“Pieces of one!” Emelia calls out and the ladies in unison finishes up in Japanese; “We are 5 Pieces!”

“And we are Puzzle!” their Japanese fans says.

Hannah has no idea of how their fans can always do that, no matter where they are, and she smiles with tears in her eyes when waving and backing to the side of the stage. Their fans are truly amazing. Maria sends off flying kisses with her hand coming after Hannah and them both looks away from their fans when reaching the side of the stage.

In their dressing-room, 5 Pieces collapses. Hannah wants to cry, she gets all teary from exhaustion and what she just have been part of, so happy that she isn’t sure if she wants to cry it out or just laugh. They all love to perform like this, to have concerts where they know their fans are, to feel the love and support, to really be overwhelmed by the emotions of fans and the stage and the music. This is what they live for, they shine on the stage, and they can go on forever like this. With smiles, 5 Pieces hug each other, not saying a thing knowing it is not necessary; they share the same thoughts because they have just gone through the same overflow of emotions on the stage. This is where 5 Pieces should be, this is what they love to do.

The first day was great, but the next days get even better. It was like a warm-up. By the fourth day, they have adapted perfectly to their concert and Hannah’s voice is flawless and strong from beginning to end.

And tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that, they will go up on the stage and shout out loudly from the top of their souls; LET’S GO, OSAKA!
