Chapter 63: Working Together

S.M. Spies

I KNOW I'M A HORRIBLE AUTHOR YOU GUYS, I'M SORRY Q~Q

College apps and homework and life in general have been getting in the way and still are.  I will continue to update whenever I can!  Thank you for being so patient with me!  I hope you enjoy the long chapter :)

"Get it?" Minho asked, looking up from his drawing.

Yuki nodded silently, trying to communicate with the boy as little as possible.  However, the girl had a fairly basic plan about how well this was going to work.

Unbeknownst to her, Minho was thinking the same thing that she was:

Since when have any of our plans ever ACTUALLY worked?

"Seek and detain," Minho said, "it's best not to try anything fancy."

"We're wasting time," Yuki replied, standing up, "let's just get this over with."

"Look," Sandeul said, showing his figures to the Japanese man as the translator spoke, "if you take out the War Memorial-"

Knock.  Knock.  Knock.

All the men in the room looked up at the sound.  Sandeul motioned for one of his men to open the door.  As he did, a beautiful, masked maiden appeared at the doorway, a tray of h'orderves in her hand.  The men simply stared, their eyes wide open.  Even the two Japanese terrorists were taken by the female's appearance.

"Forgive me for interrupting," Yuki's soft, innocent voice said, "I was ordered to go throughout the entire venue and ensure that everyone recieved some of the appetizers."

"Just you alone?" Sandeul asked.  Yuki shook her head softly.

"The other waitresses and waiters are tending to other parts of the building," Yuki explained easily, sending a breath-taking smile towards the gang member.

"Aren't you a little. . . too well-dressed to be a waitress?" one of Sandeul's body guards asked suspiciously.

"Standard dress code for parties like these, Sir," Yuki replied easily, "the other waitresses are wearing the same dress that I am."  The man nodded, believing Yuki's carefully planned out ruse.  After a few seconds of silence, Yuki took a step forward.  When no one objected, the girl began offering the tray to the men in the room, smiling graciously when they took something from her.  The girl mentally noted the sheer amount of men in the room, a majority of them bodyguards.  Minho had been right:  there were too many of them.  Forcing her thoughts away from bad scenarios, Yuki picked right back up with her façade.  "I was also told," the girl continued as she walked from man to man, "to make sure that everyone was enjoying themselves, which is why I'm here to ask if any of you gentlemen have seen the dance floor yet."  Yuki was now in front of the two Japanese men, who were not only watching her with hungry eyes, but also intently listening to what their translator was telling them.

"Afraid not," one of the body guards said.  Yuki turned to him, her face holding a look of astonishment.

"Really?  Then I must insist that you all take part in the fun!  After all, it is my job to make sure that everyone has a good time."  The girl batted her eyelashes, internally cringing at her words and actions.

Suddenly, one of the Japanese men whispered something into the translator's ear, which the man then repeated to Sandeul.  "Say, girl. . ." Sandeul said, "what did you say your name was again?"

"Hwang Ae Sook, Sir," Yuki replied, bowing.

"Yes. . . Ae Sook.  My friend here was wondering if you'd him to the dance floor.  He seems to want to. . . enjoy himself a little bit."

A smile graced Yuki's lips, but she internally hissed, reading the double meaning behind Sandeul's words.  However, she held it in.  So far, everything was going according to plan.  "Of course," was the simple response, "I would love to."

The Japanese man smirked as he got up.  He offered his arm to Yuki, who took it without hesitation, and the two made their way towards the door.

That's when everything went wrong.

"TAEHYUN!" Sandeul suddenly shouted, watching as one of his men began to cough.  The boy fell to the floor, convulsing.  White foam dripped from his mouth.  Suddenly, several of the men in the room began coughing and convulsing.  The other Japanese man in the room looked at the men in surprise, then looked at the h'orderve in his hand.

He made the connection first.

"SUPAI! (SPY!)" he shouted, pointing at Yuki.

Yuki cursed mentally.  The man whose arm she was holding turned to her, his eyes widening.  Without hesitating, the girl released his arm and sent a roundhouse kick towards his chest.  Fortunately, she managed to catch the man off guard.  He went flying straight into his comrade.  Finally, Sandeul recovered from his shock.  He turned to the other two gang lords.  "ATTACK!" he shouted, pulling out his gun. Yuki leaped to the side as the gunfire started, barely missing the bullets flying her way.  She landed right next to an empty table and flipped it, trying to throw up a cover.  She pulled the Colt out of her purse and checked it's ammo.  Six bullets.

There were WAY more than six people out there.

I'll have to make every shot count, Yuki thought.  She also realized that she had no way of contacting Minho.  He was probably still waiting for her to appear on the dance floor with the terrorist.

Suddenly, the gunshots stopped.  The girl heard a few hesitant footsteps.  I can't let them close in, Yuki thought.  Taking advantage of the cease-fire, the girl raised herself slightly above her table shield and fired two quick shots, nailing two men in the chest.  She ducked as soon as more bullets were fired.  ", what am I going to do?!  I need back-up!"

Right on cue, the door was kicked open.  A familiar waiter ran through, holding up a metal tray as a shield while shooting at men he had a clear shot at.  After spotting Yuki's figure behind the fallen table, Minho immediately dove for cover, landing right next to the girl.  Yuki stare at him for a couple of seconds.  "How did you-"

"I don't know," Minho quickly replied, "I just. . . felt like something was wrong."  Another spray of bullets kept Yuki from responding.  "They're only armed with pistols," Minho said, "they should be running out of ammo at any moment.  Let's make ours count, yeah?"

Yuki nodded and together, the pair once again raised their heads over their blockade and fired relentlessly.  Each shot was a perfect kill.  The pair simultaneously cursed when they realized that their ammo was spent.  "What do we do now?!" Minho demanded, banging his fist against the overturned table.  Yuki reached inside her purse to see if there was ANYTHING inside of it that she could use at a weapon.

As she blindly shuffled through it, her hand touched something smooth and round.  The girl's eyes widened.  No way. . . she thought.  She pulled out her hand and opened it.

Smoke bombs.

"B-Bomb," Yuki said, staring at the three small, multi-colored spheres, "you have that name for a reason."  Then, a brilliant idea popped into the girl's head.  She poked Minho's arm to get his attention.

"What?" the boy asked.  His eyes widened when Yuki held out the three smoke bombs.  "B-Bomb?" he asked.  The girl replied with a nod.

"Listen," Yuki said, "I have an idea.  If we light these and toss them into the fray, Sandeul's men and the others will stop shooting for fear of accidentally hitting each other.  We can shift the fight from gun-to-gun to man-to-man.  I don't know if we'll win, but we'll have a better shot."  Minho nodded in agreement.  Yuki's plan was better than no plan, afterall.  The girl tried shifting her position slightly, but her foot got caught in her dress.

"I can barely move in this, let alone fight," Yuki hissed, glaring down at her gown.  Then, an idea struck her.  The girl quickly kicked off the wretched shoes Jaehyo had forced her to where.  What did he call them. . .?  That's right, stilletos.  "Sorry, Minhyuk," Yuki muttered, using the heel of the shoes to rip a slit into her dress.

"W-w-what are you doing?!" Minho asked as more of Yuki's leg became exposed.  He averted his eyes, the tips of his ears reddening.  Yuki didn't even look at him.

"What does it look like, idiot?" the girl growled I him, clearly not seeing the problem, "I need to be able to move, don't I?  Now set the laser on your watch so I can set these babies on fire."

Minho let out an awkward cough before tapping his watch.  He looked at Yuki when he was ready.  Wordlessly, the girl held out the smoke bombs.  "As soon as they go off," she said, "we attack.  Got it?  I know there are a lot of them.  But we've been trained to identify silhouettes through smoke.  They haven't.  We'll stay close so we don't accidentally attack each other."  Minho nodded once more.  Then, he leveled his watch with the three smoke bombs in Yuki's hand.  A beam of concentrated, red light shot out from the tip of his watch, immediately lighting the tips of the fuses.  Without hesitation, Yuki lobbed them over the pair's shield.

"What the is this?" one of the Japanese terrorists asked, picking up one of the multi-colored balls and staring at it closely.

"THROW IT!" Sandeul shouted, looking back, "IT'S A BOMB!  GET RID OF IT!!"  The tiny flame reached the end of the fuse before the Japanese man could react.  He simply dropped it and closed his eyes.

Nothing happened.

Slowly, the men opened their eyes in confusion.  Then, some of them started laughing.  Sandeul walked over and picked up the small ball.  "Ha!" he mocked, "it's a dud!"

Yuki smirked.  "Three. . . two. . .one."

BOOM!

"!"

In a matter of seconds, the entire room was covered in multi-colored smoke.  Two gun shots were fired.

"STOP!" Sandeul commanded, "hold your fire!  I can't see a damn thing in this smoke!"

"Now!" Minho whispered, the pair jumped from their cover and ran to the center of the room, eager to start the fight.

The thick smoke didn't hinder Minho or Yuki's eyesight at all.  The pair had spent years in S.M. training for these kinds of fights.  To them, this was just another training activity.  The story for the other men in the room, however, was entirely different.

Punches were being blindly thrown in every direction, shouts of direction were heard from everywhere.

The entire room had dissolved into chaos.

And S.M.'s famous Dynamic Duo stood calmly in the eye of the storm.

Unfortunately, even in the most dire of situations, the pair still found the voice to continue their argument.

"See?" Minho said, blocking the hit of another body guard, "it's almost like you never left!"

"Now's not the time, idiot," Yuki growled, delivering a solid punch to the face of the man in front of her, "just be lucky I'm punching these guys in the face instead of you."

Minho ducked, avoiding a deadly knife slash.  "Come on Ice Princess-"

"Stop ing calling me that!" Yuki shouted in anger.  A loud crack was heard as she kicked another guard in the ribs.

The pair were now almost back-to-back, fists raised and legs set in their standard fighting positions.  "No," came Minho's firm reply, "I've called you Ice Princess for almost my entire life.  To me, you will always be my Ice Princess and as much as you want to change that, you can't."  The boy raised his arms, holding them a little behind his head.
Almost automatically, Yuki raised her own arms, grabbing Minho's hands.  The boy began spinning rapidly, lifting Yuki through sheer momentum and allowing her to practically run across the faces of the guards around them, effectively knocking them out.
"Listen," Yuki growled once she landed on the ground again, "after everything that's happened, I can't look at you the same way ever again.  I hate you for what you did.  I hate you for putting me through all of that .  I let you in, I trusted again, and look what happen.  You made me hate myself all over again.  I don't think you fully grasp the situation here."
The girl had allowed her concentration to slip as she talked.  She was letting out almost half a year's worth of resentment after all.  Her slip in concentration, however, cost her dearly.  She didn't see the punch coming her way.  Yuki flew backwards as the fist of one of the Japanese terrorists connected with the side of her face.  She crashed head-first into another one of the tables in the room, bits and pieces of sushi falling around her.  The girl rubbed her head in pain, groaning.  "Are you all right, Ice Princess?!" Minho questioned, hearing her noise of pain.
"Fine," Yuki replied curtly, slowly getting up.  A silver glint suddenly caught her eye.  Looking down, the girl noticed a pair of steel chopsticks next to her foot.  An idea suddenly popped into her head.  The picked up the eating utensils and look around.  One of the Japanese terrorists wasn't too far away from her, but Yuki shook her head.  They'll need him alive, she thought.  Her eyes continued to scan the room until they landed on a familiar, burly silhouette.  Sandeul was still shouting orders to his men.
What if I can kill three birds with one stone?  Yuki leveled the chopsticks in her hand as she took aim.
We let you off with a warning the first time, the girl thought, but you made the same mistake again.  Sorry Sandeul, but it looks like your chances have run out.
With a powerful flick of her wrist, Yuki threw the deadly projectiles with frightening accuracy.  She watched as her chopsticks hit their mark.  Sandeul, who had been shouting orders just seconds before, suddenly stopped talking.  He grunted. his hand moving to his heart, feeling the to pieces of steel protruding through his chest.
Sandeul froze for a few seconds, the fight still raging around him.  Then, he grunted and fell to the floor.
He moved no more.
Yuki cleared and lowered the pitch of her voice like Key had once taught her to.  The smoke was still in the air.  No one knew what happened yet.  Then as loud as she could, she yelled, "SANDEUL IS DEAD!"
A few seconds of silence passed.
Then, all hell broke loose.
"SANDEUL IS DEAD!"
Minho looked up in surprise.  What?!  Apparently, the other men in the room were thinking the same thing.  They all froze in surprise.  Then. . .
" THIS!" one of the gang members shouted as he rushed for the door.  It didn't take long for the other remaining gang members (that could still walk) to begin high-tailing out of the room in a frenzy.  The smoky air caused quite a few of them to run into walls and each other instead of the door.  Minho frantically ran through the smoke, trying to detect any traces of the two Japanese terrorists.  He couldn't afford to lose them.  Not when he had already gotten this close.
Once the door opened, the smoke began clearing out of the room, giving Minho more visibility.  The sounds of groaning immediately caught his attention.  Cautiously, he walked towards the bar in the corner of the room.  His body was tensed, ready to act at a moment's notice.  Finally, he saw them.
The two Japanese terrorists were barely conscious and badly beaten up.  Each man had one hand cuffed to the poles next to the bar.  Surprised, Minho reached into the back pocket of his pants where his handcuffs had been.  Empty.  Ice Princess must have taken them from me when I wasn't paying attention.  Speaking of which. . .  Minho looked around, but it was a bit too late.
The room was empty and Yuki was long gone.
