Leave It To The Guys

Eun Ri found herself walking side by side with Lay at the mall. She gazed at the ground in front of her, occasionally flinching as Lay's arm rubbed against hers when they bumped each other. His arm would leave a tingly feeling on her arm and made her heart skip a beat.

She was slightly flustered and nervous to be with him. From the moment Luhan told her she was going out with Lay for the day, her mind was filled with endless thoughts.

She wondered why Luhan had forced her to go with Lay for the day. Of course, she concluded she'd probably never understand what went on in his stupid mind, but this time, she wouldn't mind because it scored her a "date" with Lay.

Eun Ri wasn't sure if Lay was counting this as a date or just a hangout but the sound of her and Lay going out for a date made her happy on the inside and even if it wasn't, she'd still like to think about it like that.

And even though she was happy, she could tell Luhan seemed a bit disappointed as she left with Lay. The look that Luhan wore had tints of jealousy and irritation. She had no idea why Luhan would feel any of those emotions towards her since 1) He was the one who forced them out and 2) There was nothing Luhan could possibly be jealous of.

And this is why, she liked Lay better. Lay seemed to have set emotions that weren't confusing and didnt send her for a loop all the time. Lay would be kind and sweet with her all the time while Luhan had his moments where he'd be kind and others where he'd be the jackass she met at school.

Lay was kind and gentle. He had supported her like a beam supporting a building during her crashing points. She would never allow herself to break down in front of anyone but with Lay, she felt safe that if she were to fall, he'd catch her in a heart beat.

His words from the funeral were permanently engraved in her mind and were there to reassure her that she'd always have someone by her side when everything became dark.

Luhan in the other hand, seemed to be the causes of her everyday issues. Whether it was him leaving his dirty clothes on the floor or eating all of her favorite snacks. She could easily say that if she ever fell, he'd probably be the reason or he'd laugh.

But he wasn't all that bad. Eun Ri recalled the day before where he and her had some fun times. She could admit they grew closer and though the idea of her and Luhan becoming friends was revolting, she could accept the fact. She learned he wasn't all that bad but the whole idea came crashing down when he was being his normal jerky self in the morning.

She shook her head slightly. Why was she even comparing the two? She obviously knew Lay was the better choice so there was no reason to hate on Luhan even if he deserved it.

"Ri?" She could hear Lay calling her. She glanced at him and saw him smiling. "Want to go in the arcade or something?" He asked cutely. She found it adorable how they were seniors in high school but somehow he still found it fun to play in an arcade.

"Of course." She laughed softly before following him into the busy arcade.

Once they entered, Eun Ri saw Lay's eyes twinkle as he ran towards the dancing machines. Making sure to pick up a bucket of tokens, Eun Ri handed Lay some coins. To her suprise, he inserted enough coins for two players and the next thing she knew, she was on the machine dancing next to Lay.

The colorful arrows kept going black as she missed more and more steps. Lay was hardly breaking a sweat and he was already leading by thousands of points. She pouted as they finished the song and Lay smiled in victory.

"Yah! You're such a cheater, you're obviously a dancer." She whined. Lay smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck, "Was it obvious?"

Eun Ri laughed softly and nodded. "Quite obvious. You're a really good dancer Lay." She could see the blush creep onto his cheeks and smiled.

"Thanks." He said. It wasn't like he had never heard the compliment before but coming from her, it made it more special to him.

She climbed off the machine and grabbed the bucket lying on the floor. "How about we play something else?" Lay nodded and walked beside her as they continued to play games.

Eun Ri beat Lay in every car race they had, but Lay easily won over her in games that required strength or in their last game; height.

"You're taller!" Eun Ri said eyeing the moving basketball net. Of course she was amazing at basketball but this net was taller than the average height and it was moving.

She knew Lay had probably played this game before because he was easily throwing the basketball into the moving hoop over and over again.

Lay chuckled and placed his ball down. "Don't be such a whiney baby." He teased. Eun Ri stuck her tongue out before throwing another shot and completely missing the net. She pressed her lips together and grabbed another ball when she felt herself being lifted up.

She looked down to see Lay smiling. "Go on, try it now you're taller." He said teasingly. He had no idea where his boldness became from, but he felt so comfortable around her, his bashful ness completely went away.

Eun Ri blushed and nodded before tossing the ball and getting it into the net. Lay placed her down and ruffled her hair like a small child. She huffed and fixed her hair before smiling.

"So you wanna go get something to eat?" Lay said noticing their bucket was empty. Eun Ri nodded and decided a snack before D.O.'s lunch sounded good.

As the two were walking out into the mall in search of a good snack place, Lay couldn't help but notice the guys eyeing Eun Ri.

He wouldn't blame them. Eun Ri was of the perfect height, just the right size, she was basically the ideal girl.

As Eun Ri was walking, she felt someone's arm slip around her waist and a hand lacing hers. She turned her head to find Lay walking casually. Her heart began to race as he squeezed her hand. She had no idea what he was doing but she wished he would never let go.

Her head was becoming dizzy. She was holding hands with Lay, for whatever reason. Did this mean he liked her as well? She couldn't help but blush madly but she made sure her head was dipped low enough so he wouldn't notice.

His hand gently squeezing hers from time to time made her heart want to implode on itself. He was driving her mind crazy, crazier than Luhan ever could but she loved it.

After finding a pretzel stand, Lay released her hand making her feel a bit empty. He never said anything about their intimate moment but she didnt let it bother her too much.

He excused himself to go get them a snack. Leaning against the wall, she smiled cheesily as she eyed her hand. Lay came running back with a cup of cinnamon covered pretzel bites.

"I hope you like cinnamon. There was only one left so I hope you don't mind sharing?" He said shyly. She shook her head and took a piece out of the cup.

She her lips of the sweet sugar but she felt Lay's fingers brush over the corner of her lips. She looked up and blushed. "Thanks." She said softly.

"No problem." Lay said shyly. He smiled and grabbed her hand once he noticed more males eyeing her. "Let's keep going around." He said.

Luhan twisted and the couch, sprawling his arms and legs all over the piece of furniture, letting out angered and huffy breathes.

Baekhyun pressed his lips into a thin line and rolled his eyes. "Is there anything wrong?" He said monotonously knowing the older had just wanted someone to talk to.

Luhan hung his head upside down and pouted. "What do you think Lay and Eun Ri are doing?" He had to admit, his mind had been busy with thoughts of Eun Ri—and Lay.

"If you care so much, why don't you call them?" Baekhyun grumbled trying to focus on his weekend assignment. Luhan flipped over the couch and landed on the ground with a wide grin. "Perfect idea Baek!" He chirped.

Luhan sprinted up the stairs in no time, leaving a very happy Baekhyun to finish his homework. Luhan barged into his room and threw himself onto his bed as he grabbed his phone. Scrolling through the contacts, a though occured to him.

Why did he care so much?

Dropping his phone onto the soft mattress, Luhan lied down. Why did he care? The mir thought of Lay and Eun Ri made him gag yet he was the one who set them together.

That morning, Luhan felt like the bestest friend alive. What other friend would go out of his way to set his best friend up with a date with his crush? The greatest friend alive, that's who.

Yet somehow, Luhan regretted it now. He realized he couldve probably approached the whole thing differently. This wasnt the first time they were in a fight and setting Lay up with a girl was definitely not one of Luhan's tactics before.

He had easily gotten the male to forgive him by buying his favorite snacks, doing him favors, cleaning his bike and other things so Luhan had no idea why he thought Eun Ri was the only way he could get the male to forgive him.

He shouldn't be discouraged or even jealous since he was the one who set them up for a date in the first place.

His eyelids grew heavy, dropping as he drifted off into dream land for a brief nap.

He found himself at the mall yet he never recalled going there or how he got there. Suddenly, he had a strong craving for ice cream and he might as well go get some while he was there.

Strolling through the mall, he arrived at the parlor. He ran to the counter, mouth watering at all the brightly colored ice cream flavors. After ordering his simple vanilla cup, he skipped happily to a booth.

He was about to take a bite when a melodious laugh filled his ears. He looked up and almost dropped his spoon when he saw Lay and Eun Ri smiling at each other.

He smiled, waving his hands. "HEY GUYS!" He called. He pouted when Eun Ri and Lay completely ignored him and continued to giggle and talk. Luhan frowned as he got up from his seat.

"Yah~ guys, why are you ignoring me." Luhan said approaching them. They were completely oblivious, not even turning their heads towards him. Growing frustrated, he just went back to his seat and grumbled as he ate his ice cream.

Peeking up from his ice cream once more, his eyes grew wide and he dropped his cup. He watched as Lay leaned in close to Eun Ri who's eyes were closed, cheeks blushing with a bit of ice cream staining her lips.

"NO!!!!" Luhan screamed.

"NO!!!!"

He bumped heads with someone and groaned as he fell back onto his bed.

Eun Ri growled as she rubbed her forehead, glaring down at the male. Luhan opened his eyes to find Eun Ri scowling at him.

"Luhan, what the heck." She pouted. Luhan instantly got up and swatted her hand away, examining her forehead. She grimaced and pulled away. "Yah~ creep. What are you doing?"

Luhan rolled his eyes and pushed himself to the edge of the bed. "I should be asking you that. What the hell are you doing in my room." He said trying to cover up his caring side.

She leaned against his wall and glared. "D.O. oppa told me to wake you up for lunch. But then I found you screaming." He could feel his cheeks blush as she told him, he was freaking out. "Did you have a nightmare or something?"

Luhan hopped off the bed and smirked as he hovered her. "Yeah, you were in it."

Eun Ri growled and pushed his chest, making him land on the bed. "So you admit you were dreaming about me? ert." Feeling annoyed by Luhan, she decided to storm out of his room and downstairs before she could see his initial reaction. Lay had made her morning special and she wasn't going to let Luhan ruin it.

"Hey, where's Lu?" Chanyeol asked setting up the plates of kimchi spaghetti.

Eun Ri opened the fridge angrily and grabbed out the pitcher of lemonade. "The idiot is upstairs." She grumbled. She grabbed the stack of cups and the pitcher, carrying it outside to the picnic table.

She could hear the guys chuckle behind her, mumbling things about her and Luhan. She sat down and leaned her head against her arm, staring at the plate of spaghetti.

Soon everyone filed out and began to eat. Luhan was one of the last but he didnt spare her a scowl before he sat down across her.

During the meal, Eun Ri thought she was eating relatively neat, not getting sauce everywhere but how she was eating was driving Luhan nuts, whether she realized it or not.

Her face was ultimately clean besides a bit of sauce clinging onto the corner of her lip that she could easily wipe away but knowing his friends, Luhan knew his friends would not give up a chance to be the cheesy idiots they were known to be.

He could see Chanyeol scooting closer to her as he sat next to her, Kai smiling to himself as he glanced at Eun Ri and Xiumin giggling softly.

Luhan kept the scowl on his face as he twirled his pasta on his plate. He tried not to care but the moment, Lay picked up his napkin, Luhan snatched his and pressed it to Eun Ri's lips harshly.

"MMMFF!" Eun Ri mumbled as she suddenly felt a napkin pinching her lips tightly. She looked up from her food to find Luhan scowling and wiping her lips harshly.

The whole table froze as Luhan pulled away, dropping the napkin to the ground. Eun Ri spat and glanced at Luhan who was acting like nothing happened.

"YAH! What was that for?!" She asked. She didnt appreciate a napkin being shoved into as she ate.

"You eat like a pig. Maybe I should call you pig instead of kitten." Luhan said coldly. Eun Ri closed before she could cause another ruckus and continued to eat.

"Aww, what happened cuddly and sweet LuRi." Chen teased. Eun Ri choked on her food as Chanyeol pat her back and reached for her glass of lemonade. As she gulped down her drink, she could hear Luhan coughing as well.

When she finished her drink, her face was red and she was out of breath. "What did you just say Chen?" She scowled. Chen smirked, "What? You can't deny LuRi. You two were basically inseperable last night. The first thing this guy asked was where you were." Chen chuckled.

Everyone bursted into giggles besides Lay who was picking at his food quietly, not feeling hungry anymore. Eun Ri looked at Luhan who looked like he was ready to stab Chen with his fork.

She could feel her cheeks warm up and felt a bit flustered thinking that Luhan wondered about her first.

Luhan noticed Eun Ri staring at him and he could feel the tips of his ear burning. He didnt want to let her think he somewhat cared about her (which in fact he did but he wasnt going to let her know it.) "What are you staring at?" He said coldly.

Eun Ri pressed her lips into a thin line and erased any bit of hope that Luhan was actually a nice guy. "Nothing." She said blankly before excusing herself to go to her room.

She climbed up the stairs and went straight to her room before jumping onto her bed and curling up. She didnt know why she was a bit upset and disappointed that Luhan wasn't actually the nice guy she thought he was.

Maybe somewhere, she secretly wished he would accept her but she knew the harsh reality and that he was probably never going to like her for whatever reason.

"Stupid..." She muttered under her breath as she threw her pillow across the room, letting it hit the wall. She glanced at the floor and smiled a bit before reaching into the bag that was placed next to her bed.

She pulled out a stuffed deer and smirked before flicking it's forehead. It's doe eyes resembled Luhan's so much, the large, round eyes staring back at her.

Lay had bought her the doll and they both decided to name it Lulu, after Luhan. It was his idea to win the doll so Eun Ri would have something to take out her anger on without actually murdering the real Luhan.

Thinking back to her trip with Lay, she concluded to herself that it was a date. She blushed and smiled cheesily but she had to admit, everything they did could be deduced as a date. Even if Lay didnt consider it a date, she would.

She gripped the doll tightly and growled. "Why do you make everything so frustrating." She pouted. Tossing the doll at the door, it hit someone as they stepped in.

"Woah—" Lay said dodging the doll. He looked at the ground where it lied and chuckled. "Beating up Lulu?"

Eun Ri rested her back against her head board and frowned. "I wish it was Luhan though." She scowled. Lay laughed, picking up the doll and placing it on her night stand.

He took sat next to her on her bed. She was too annoyed to really even be shy so she rested her head on his shoulder. She felt Lay stiffen but soon relax himself.

Lay stared at her as she rested her head against his shoulder. There was no way Eun Ri could harbor feelings for his best friend right? Chen was probably talking nonsense as usual. Though Lay saw with his own eyes the two resting against each other, he refused to believe his best friend was warming up to his crush.

"Ri..." He said in a dry voice. She hummed. "D-Do you like Luhan?" He asked nervously. He needed a direct answer, just to reassure himself.

She lifted her head and stared at the male. Lay almost stopped breathing until she started to make gagging sounds and laugh.

"Me? Like that idiot? Hilarious Lay." She said gagging. She pretended to puke and smiled softly. "Not in a thousand years ever will I like that idiot." Because I like you.

Lay laughed nervously and nodded.

"Why do you ask?" Eun Ri asked shyly. Did Lay care if she liked another guy? Did that mean he liked her back?

"A-Ah n-no r-r-reason." Lay stuttered. Eun Ri just nodded slowly before playing with the ends of her hair. Lay got off her bed and dusted off the invisible dust on his pants. "I'm going to go head downstairs." He said heading out.

Eun Ri nodded and the instant the door closed, she groaned and threw her face into her pillow. Why did she act like such a weirdo in front of him. Gagging noises really? So classy Eun Ri, so classy. She hated how her cold figure melted instantly at his presence.

"I am such a loser." She mumbled into her pillow.

_____________________

Eun Ri was walking beside Chanyeol and Chen as they made their way towards the cars to go home. The school day was just like any other; the guys following her around constantly to make sure she as safe, her making herself look like a dork in front of Lay, her and Luhan fighting, and the constant glares from fellow classmates.

She rested against Xiumin, playing on her phone inside one of the Hummers as they went home. She was looking forward to a nice relaxing shower when the car screeched. She probably wouldve flown foward if it werent for Xiumin holding her tightly.

"YAH! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" Baekhyun shouted from the back. Suho gripped the wheel tightly and stared straight forward.

Eun Ri glanced out the front window and saw Infinite parked outside their house but someone else was with them.

EXO was not expecting some type of attack for awhile, but they knew it was coming. There was only so much time until they stopped with the childish play and got down to business.

She watched as the guys on their bikes stepped off. Soon everyone began piling out of the cars. She was going to as well but Chen shook his head and stopped her. "Don't, it's dangerous Eun Ri." He handed her the keys, "Lock the car and if they try to get in, drive."

"Chen—" she was going to start but the worried look on his face made her shut up. Chen nodded and ruffled her hair before hopping off and closing the door behind her.

She huffed as she sat inside the car, watching as trouble began to brew up.
