Heechul’s POV

I haven’t feeling well since I woke up this morning. No, I’m not sick I’m just confused. I really am not the type of person to really care about what other thinks or what they do but I hate it when I do care but inside I really didn’t want to. Now I just sound insane!

I felt even worse when I got on the bus and saw SaeMi beside Yunho, I can’t help but stare at her though. Things got even worse for me when Eunhyuk and JinMi shared a moment in front of everyone.

I keep stealing a glance at SaeMi and Yunho, they were playing “kkemi kkemi” (the rock, paper and scissor game suju played on the bus on Full House), and they were laughing nonstop. I felt a very slight relief when Taemin asked her to play with him.

            “ahjusshi, why are you so unusually quiet today?” Yoona who was sitting beside me nudged an elbow at me.

            “huh? Nothing, halmeoni, I’m just really tired.” I said pinching the bridge of my nose.

            “tired? Yeah right! You’ve been staring at Henry’s cousin ever since you got on the bus.” I looked at Yoona and saw her grinning widely and then twitched her lips to point at SaeMi who was now playing with an overexcited Key.

            “I was not!” I flatly denied.

            “oh really? Jino-ah hand me the camera.” She said as Jino from SM the Ballad handed her the camera grinning at me.

            “what is this all about?” I asked the two.

            “Yoona-noona asked me to do something a while ago, hyung. Just look at the camera and you’ll see.” I raised an eyebrow at him and he just continued to grin then turned to talk to Kangta hyung and Leeteuk.

            “look here and tell me I’m making things up.” She shoved the camera at me and pressed play.

As soon as she played it, my heart went thumping so fast I feel she could hear it. I really was caught. I didn’t finish watching it and just gave her back the camera and I can’t help but think who else had noticed.

            “and your point is?” I asked coolly trying to seem calm and indifferent.

            “Pabo! You like her.” Jessica’s head popped beside Yoona. I didn’t realize she was listening to our conversation.

            “I don’t like her. She annoys me to death!” good thing the bus was too noisy that the others on the other end couldn’t hear us. Then a crumpled paper hit my face, I looked where it came from and saw Kangta hyung looking at me with his arms crossed.

            “Heechul-ah, your mouth says no but your actions says otherwise.” He began to. Honestly how many people know about this?

            “hyung, I honestly don’t like her.” I looked at my hyung in front of me but raised an eyebrow.

            “oh yes you do!” Yoona and Jessica said together.

            “no, I don’t!” these people really doesn’t get it.

            “oh really? Oppa, you really underestimate us girls and the kind of instinct we have.” BoA then said beside Leeteuk as she nudged him. Leeteuk laughed, I think I now know where they got their information.

            “yah! How can you say thing like that when you just saw her today.” I said.

            “well…” BoA grinned. “I haven’t met her just today.”

            “what do you--?” then it suddenly dawned on me. They went to the hotel while I was there! “oh no you did not!”

            “don’t worry she didn’t know who I was.” Boa said grinning still. I guess she was in her disguise mode. Argh! I am definitely going to kill Leeteuk and Eunhyuk!

I glared at Leeteuk who looked unaffected due to the fact that there are a lot of people on his side.

            “yah! You really like to assume stuff. I don’t like her!”

            “oppa, this is one of evidence we have, the way you are now.” Jessica said.

            “what do you mean by that?” I asked and Jessica rolled her eyes and leaned more to the front.

            “oppa, when we used to tease you, you usually give some witty retorts but now you are almost speechless and just keep denying it.” Jessica pointed out and there were nods from the others.

            “I—“ I was cut off.

            “wanna bet?” Kangta hyung said cutting me off. All of them were listening eagerly now.

            “what kind of bet?” I asked skeptically. Kangta hyung is very nice and well mannered but I can’t help but think what he may have in mind.

            “simple, you win I’ll lie in the snow for 5 seconds in shirt and hot pants, but if I win you’d have to do it.” he said as Leeteuk, Kyuhyun, Yoona, Jessica and Jino laughed.

I honestly was a bit hesistant.

            “scared, dongsaeng?” Kangta hyung taunted me.

            “of course not! You’ve got a deal!” I said and we shook hands.

            “I bet against Heechul hyung as well.” Kyuhyun who was sitting beside me raised his hand.

            “me too!” BoA, Yoona and Jessica said in unison.

            “count me in.” Jino and Leeteuk also declared next.

            “yah! Yah! Yah!” I started to say was cut off when screams from the other end diverted our attention.

We were honestly shuffled now. Since we left our dorm, some transferred seats to talk to other members and friends.

As we looked at the others, they were all looking at two people who were having a stare down. Stretching our necks to see, we saw that it was Changmin and Henry.

            “Unnie, what are they doing?” Yoona asked Sunday who was closer to the other end.

            “they are challenging each other on who can last long on a stare down. For the boys, Henry had already defeated the SHINee boys, TRAX, and some of the SuJu boys; and for the girls, Amber also defeated most of the girls here. Dana and I didn’t join them; just watching them is fun enough for us.” Sunday explained while she adjusted in her seat to have a better view.

How immature and childish can you get?

Henry had defeated Changmin and was now Challenging Yunho. Amber was now also challenging SaeMi. Yunho defeated Henry in 10 minutes but Amber and Sae Mi were still at it and they were the only ones left standing. Another 5 minutes passed and Amber gave up.

            “wah! You’re too good at this.” Amber exclaimed as she tore her gaze away from SaeMi.

            “no more challenger?” Victoria called out to the people on the bus. I felt eyes on me but I didn’t say anything.

            “that’s it then, winners are SaeMi unnie and Yunho oppa!” Tiffany announced and they all clapped.

            “wait a second! How about we have a winners’ standoff?” Zephyr(The Elements) suggested.

            “what do you mean?” SaeMi asked.

            “Yunho oppa and you will have a stare down.” Tiffany explained and everyone burst in agreement.

I felt the blood rising in my face. I glanced at BoA and she was looking at me with a look that says ‘I know you’re getting jealous’. I just furrowed my eyebrows and looked back at the scene.

Yunho and SaeMi were now staring at each other. Yunho smirked I wanted to see SaeMi’s face but her back was to me so I couldn’t see at all. 10 minutes passed and the teasing ensued.

            “Yunho oppa, good thing I’m completely over you now or I’d be completely jealous of SaeMi unnie.” Aqua(The Elements) joked laughing while Frost, their maknae, poked her ribs. That statement made Yunho laugh and broke his stare.

            “not fair! I was distracted.” Yunho protested.

            “that’s the point, in order to survive you should not be distracted.” Changmin said laughing hard. Yunho pushed him playfully and he fell off his chair with thump, which made everyone laugh.

            “anymore challenger?” Henry called out to the bus.

            “I will!” we heard the voice from our end of the bus. I turned around and saw Sungmin raising his hand. He stood up and slowly walked towards SaeMi, his lips pursed in his usual ageyo look.

            SaeMi turned towards him, which now gave me full view of her face. She smiled and took a deep breath.

            “hana, deul, set!” Amber counted and the stare down began.

Five minutes passed when Sungmin began his ageyo moves, which made everyone cringe and laugh. But SaeMi only grinned unfazed by the ageyo.

            “wow! I’ve never seen anyone resist Sungmin’s ageyo before.” Yesung suddenly commented waking up from his sleep.

            “she’s a tough one that girl.” Dana said.

            “ahh! I give up! You’re too good!” Sungmin said tearing his gaze from SaeMi and covered his eyes while shaking his head. SaeMi laughed and tapped Sungmin’s back.

            “Too bad, Minnie-ah.” Leeteuk said tapping Sungmin as he made his way towards our end.

            “wah…she’s too good and to think she resisted my ageyo.” Sungmin said in a slightly dejected voice.

            “this game is exciting. We’re almost there so any last minute takers?” Sulli then piped in.

I was about to slouch back when I felt a strong push, which made me almost fall off my seat. I was in a very awkward position, I was hunched forward like I was bowing and I quickly straightened myself up and looked back to see who pushed me. I already knew who it was before I turned around and I glared at Kyuhyun who just gave me a thumbs up along with Sungmin beside him.

            “aish! Jinjja! Chugule!?” I shouted at the two.

            “Kim Heechul!!!” I turned around and everyone was clapping and shouting my name. aish!

            “just go! It’s just a game anyway and you don’t like her, right?” BoA said teasingly while Yoona and Jessica pushed me.

            “wah Heechul hyung, should be able to win this!” Minho cheered.

            “wanna bet?” Onew challenged. “I win you treat me to all the chicken I want a week.”

            “deal! And if I win, hyung needs to do all the chores at the dorm.” Minho added and the two closed their bet. What dongsaengs I have eh.

I stood in front of SaeMi who was as silent as I was, her cheeks were a bit flushed.

            “C’mon, Zee. You can win this.” Yunho cheered behind her. Argh!

            “hana, deul, set!” Amber counted again and we both stared at each other.

Somehow her gaze was softer than what she used on the others. I can’t help but marvel at how pretty her almond eyes were. They were the kind of eyes that you’d want to stare at for a long long time. 5 minutes passed by and we were staring at each other; she was getter redder as well. Was it because of the cold?

            “AHHH!!!!” everyone on the bus screamed as the bus abruptly stopped.

Everyone lurched forward while I toppled backwards, SaeMi landing on top of me. She shook her head and immediately stood up. Her reflexes were good and just as she stood up most of the people on the bus were trying to compose themselves. I think not much people saw that she fell on top of me.

            “sorry, Casey.” She said as she helped me up and sat back to her seat.

            “what happened?” Yunho called up to the driver.

            “I’m very sorry sir, someone suddenly crossed.” The driver responded and I made my way back to my seat.

When I sat I saw Kyuhyun and BoA grinning at each other, I didn’t bother to ask because I might end up being the center of attention again.

A few moments later we arrived at the ski resort and stepped out of the bus. The cold winter air hit us at once.

            “wah!its cold!” Yesung screamed rubbing both of his hands. It wasn’t snowing but it was slightly windy.

            “we’re in a ski resort in winter, you idiot, what do you expect?” I said and smacked his head sightly.

44 SM artists plus 4 guests including SaeMi were now gathered at the warm lobby waiting to be assigned rooms. All the leaders were gathered and were holding a sheet of paper and key cards.

            “there’s gonna be 2 persons per room, the other group leaders will be assigning you to the rooms.” Yunho started to announce. “Changmin and I will be sharing room 202.” He then looked at Kangta hyung.

            “the men will be occupying the 2^nd floor and the women will be on the 3^rd floor. Men are not allowed on the third floor and vice versa. Jino and I will be in room 201.” the eldest of us ordered. We all made a sound of understanding.

            “ok, Sungmin will be sharing a room with his younger brother in 209.” Leeteuk said handing the key card to Sungmin. He and his brother may look a bit alike but they really are not the same. Sungmin is too feminine while his brother too manly.

“Yesung and I will be in 204, since I know none of the other members would want to share a room with him.” Leeteuk continued and everybody burst out laughing.

“yah!” Yesung started to protest but Leeteuk cut him off.

It’s true that we avoid sleeping in the same room with Yesung, it’s creepy when you wake up and see his face so close to yours just staring.

            “Heechul and Siwon in room 207.” Siwon and I high-fived, we’ve shared a room a lot and it’s not really a problem just don’t sleep on the same bed or else you might end up on the floor the next day and you wouldn’t know how you even got there. “the fish and Zhou Mi in 203, Ryeowook and Shindong in 205, the two maknaes in 208 Eunhyuk then will be sharing a room with---”

            “Minho in 206.” Onew finished Leeteuk’s sentence looking at his paper. Leeteuk looked at his copy and nodded.

            “why can’t I share a room with Donghae?” Eunhyuk asked. Leeteuk faced him with a slightly frustrated expression.

            “yah, shouldn’t you be asking if you and JinMi can share a room?” Donghae said jokingly teasing the inseparable couple.

            “yah! I’m not a ert like you.” Eunhyuk hurriedly said pushing his best friend aside.

            “says someone who watches in his room.” Kyuhyun joined in the teasing.

            “mwo!?” JinMi reacted in surprise tearing herself away from Eunhyuk.

            “yah! You two stop joking around. You know it’s not true.” We were laughing at panicking monkey.

            “oppa I know, don’t panic.” JinMi said laughing so hard she clutched Donghae’s arm who was also laughing so hard he looked like he’s gonna die laughing.

            “aish!” the monkey walked out of the lobby. Donghae was about to follow him when JinMi stopped him.

            “leave him for a bit, he’s just acting.” JinMi definitely knew Eunhyuk.

            “anyway, Jonghyun and I will be in 211, while Key and Taemin in 212.” Onew finished his list.

            “Jungmo and I will be in 210 then.” Jay said putting his Key card in his pocket.

The girls were next. Dana and Sunday, will be in 301.

            “Yuri came with her sister so they’ll be in 303. Sunny and Yoona in 305, Tiffany and Sooyoung in 304, Seohyun and Hyoyeon in 307 and Jessica and I will be in 302.” Taeyeon read her copy so fast that her members were trying to clarify what she said.

            “Amber also came with her sister so they’ll be in 306, Luna and Krystal will be in 309 and Sulli and I will be in 308.” Victoria said as she handed her members their room keys.

            “Aqua and I will be in 311 and Frost and Zephyr in 312.” JinMi said.

            “Zee and I will be sharing a room then.” BoA said waving the card key for room 310. She was looking at me weirdly that I couldn’t help but be nervous.

When we all started to go up, I saw Yunho and Leeteuk talking in a corner. I wonder what those two are up to.

Zee’s POV

My hands were stone cold ever since that stare down battle with Casey on the bus. I hoped it was just the weather but deep inside me I think it was not because of it. I really became nervous when Casey went over to challenge me and when we started I didn’t know how long I’d last. I really was about to look away when the bus suddenly stopped and we fell. Good thing I had good reflexes and I was able to stand really quickly.

We were now gathered at the resort lobby assigning rooms, but my thoughts were seriously elsewhere.

            “Zee and I will be sharing a room then.” I looked up at once and saw BoA unnie walking towards me with a key card. “is it ok with you, Zee-ssi?” he asked.

            “of course!” I replied nervously.

            “that’s settled then. Let’s go up and get settled for a while, but if you want to go and play around you can but be careful.” Kangta oppa instructed.

I know he’s the oldest here but he looked so young. When he came in the bus I even thought he was Siwon, they looked so alike.

            “hey Zee! See you back here in 30 minutes ok?” Henry called out to me as BoA unnie dragged me to the elevator.

            “got it!” I shouted back. Henry still wanted to challenge me in snowboarding since I defeated him the last time.

I stared in amazement when we got into our room. It was just a simple room with twin beds, but what took our breath was the view. The snow-capped mountains looked so majestic you can just spend the whole day just staring at it.

            “the view is perfect isn’t it?” BoA unnie commented as she unpacked.

            “yeah, it’s breathtaking.” I replied as I walked away from the balcony and started to unpack.

            “Zee-ssi, can I ask you something?” she said putting her things neatly in the cabinet.

            “sure.”

            “what do you think of Heechul?” I quickly straightened up. Why would she ask that?

            “well, he’s a nice guy even if he annoys me.”

            “do you like him?” BoA unnie said flopping onto my bed grinning at me.

            “mwo? Anniyo. Why are you asking me those kind of questions?”

            “nothing. Just curious.” She shrugged but still had a mysterious look on her face like she knew something I didn’t. “c’mon Henry is waiting for you.

There were still a few people in the lobby when we got there, I guess most of them still wanted to rest a bit before going out. As soon as I saw Henry, I jogged towards him with unnie.

            “Henry, you ready?” I put a hand on his shoulder.

            “yup! By the way, Heechul hyung is coming with us.” He said pointing at the couch where a sitting Casey was tinkering with his phone.

            “oh, Heechul oppa, did your skills improve since the last time?” Boa teased.

            “don’t start you.” He said standing up. “SaeMi ah, are you sure you can snowboard?” he said in a patronizing tone.

            “of course, I can take you on any time.”

            “is that a challenge, Miss Lau?” he said grinning. I can hear Henry groaning beside me.

            “not another one.” Henry moaned.

            “think of however you want it.” I said ignoring my chubby-cheeked cousin.

            “you’re on!” Casey said and the four of is walked out into the snow.

We walked towards the lifts, Henry and I carrying snowboards while Casey and unnie were carrying skis.

            “are you sure about this?” Henry asked. We were walking behind BoA and Casey who seem to be arguing in low voices.

            “don’t be such a worrywart Henry, its just a challenge not a bet.”

As we got into the lifts we saw some of the artists were already having fun.  Yoona, Yuri and Sunny were making a snowman, while the SHINee boys along with Jino were having a snowball fight. When we got to the top, Eunhyuk, Donghae, JinMi, Aqua, Sulli, Kyuhyun and Changmin were already there. Eunhyuk was convincing JinMi not to ski down.

Kyuhyun took out huge round tubes with Donghae and Changmin.

            “race you to the bottom?” Kyuhyun said.

            “you’re on!” Changmin and Donghae said in unison as they sat in their tubes.

            “be careful you guys.” I called out to them.

            “Don’t worry we’ll be fine. Henry-ssi, can you help us?” Donghae said calling out to Henry. Casey and Eunhyuk also went to them to help.

            “yah! If any of you there were knocked out don’t expect us to be carrying you side coz we’ll be dragging you in.” Casey said as he held onto Kyuhyun’s tube.

            “hana, deul, set!” BoA counted as the three guys pushed the other 3 down the snowy slope, all of them went down shouting.

It’s really fun seeing them like this, like a bunch of normal people enjoying the weather and just playing.

            “ready to lose, SaeMi-ssi?” I turned to see Casey already wearing his skis.

            “the question is, are you?” I threw the question back at him and he grinned.

I put my snowboard down and secured my feet on it.

            “are you two sure about this?” a worried BoA unnie asked.

            “of course.” Casey and I said together. “hana, deul, set!”

I gave a small hop and started to slide down the slope, I saw Casey lean forward to accelerate his speed.

Two can play the same game. I turned and swerved and quickly gained the upperhand. He couldn’t avoid the obstacles as fast as I can. He really didn’t think he could defeat me in this did he? I mean I’ve been trained to snowboard almost at the same time I started playing the violin.

I reached the bottom first and a few seconds later Casey also reached the bottom a few feet away from me.

            “Casey! I win!” I said waving at him, laughing while he walked towards me carrying his skis.

            “ZEE NOONA! LOOK OUT!” I heard Taemin’s panicked voice. I turned and saw him pointing at something behind me.

            “SAE MI!”

The last thing I heard was Casey’s horrified voice…

…before everything went black.
