Leeteuk’s POV

The morning’s craziness was over and done and now we’re at Yuexiushan Stadium for rehearsals. The skies were still a bit dark so we hope it wouldn’t rain tonight.  We’ve been rehearsing for more than 3 hours and now we’re going around the stage familiarizing ourselves with it. Henry and Zee were adding a little bit of choreography to their performance with the special effects and lighting director with them. Henry will be doing the dance of course but Zee has her own flair in her playing. It’s close to dancing but it’s like a graceful way of playing; she goes with her music. Am I making any sense? I don’t think so.

            “hyung, if it rains tonight this stage will surely be slippery.” Eunhyuk commented rubbing his feet against the floor.

            “I know, I already asked the crew if they could add some rubber mats to avoid any accidents.” I said glancing at the floor plans.

Eunhyuk went on practicing our dances still getting the feel of the stage.

            “hyung, look at those two.” This time it was Kyuhyun, he was sniggering while pointing at some people. I looked at the direction he’s pointing and saw Heechul walking towards Zee.

We were actually close enough to hear their conversation. This is going to be good. I feel like we were watching a movie or something.haha even if those two doesn’t act like much of a couple they were better than how Eunhyuk and JinMi are with each other. Well, JinMi is ok but Hyukkie loses himself whenever his girl is around, he goes crazy and shy. Yeesh!

            “Go get change you’re bathing in your sweat.” Heechul told Zee while dropping a shirt on top of her head.

            “yah! Cant you just hand me the shirt properly?” Zee said her voice rising taking the shirt off her head.

Heechul just waved a hand without looking back at her and walked towards the backstage.

            “can we even call those two a couple? They’re more like a cat and a dog.” I said my thoughts out loud.

Well, in a way, they are like a cat and dog. Zee is a dog person while Heechul is a cat person; it really intrigues me why they got together.

            “hyung, I have something in mind that might give Heechul hyung a push.” I looked at the maknae who had that look in his face when he’s up to something.

            “that better be a good idea, or Heechul will have our necks.”

            “don’t worry I think this will work.” He grinned evilly.

            “you THINK. Oy…ok, tell me…” I said giving in to Kyuhyun.

When he told me what his plan was, I think it might actually work but then again we will need the help of the others.

Heechul’s POV

Of all the rotten luck! It rained during our concert and since the venue was open our fans got wet, so did we. SaeMi said that being rained on is lucky, but I honestly don’t like getting wet! Argh! There were some minor accidents though like some of us slipped on stage since the floor was wet but at least there was nothing serious.

            “hey, how was my performance?” I asked SaeMi as I got off the stage. I was confident of course.

            “it was ok.” Period. No compliments?

            “that’s it?” I asked a bit disappointed.

            “yeah, what else can I say? That you looked good?” she asked. Even if she’s being ignorant and everything I can see that she’s nervous. Let’s lighten the atmosphere, shall we?

            “of course, we both know I do.” I grinned at her.

            “fine fine. You looked hreat on stage and as usual your performance was out of this world, happy?” she said rolling her eyes.

I see that’s she’s relaxing a bit. SJM was performing now. Yesung and Teukie were in the dressing rooms. Shindong was nowhere to be seen, probably eating somewhere again. Eunhyuk was practicing his dance on the other side of the stage with Sungmin.

            “you need to relax, you know.” I told SaeMi who was now crossing her arms while watching Henry and the others singing Blue Tomorrow.

            “easy for you to say, you’ve done this hundreds of time already.” She mumbled not looking at me.

            “you’ll do fine, besides you look great.” I complimented her. Hey this time I’m being sincere!

            “are you trying to be sarcastic?” she looked at me and glared.

            “no, I’m telling the truth.” I said staring at her. Her hair was tied in a neat ponytail with smokey purple-ish make up. She looked stunning but I won’t tell her that much.

            “whatever.” She said grabbing a bottle of water. I took it from her.

            “yah! Do you know it’s a bad idea to keep drinking water before you perform? You’ll be looking for a bathroom while on stage, I’m telling you.”

She frowned but didn’t say anything. I let out a frustrated sigh. I stood in front of her blocking her view of the stage.

            “what are you doing? I can’t see!” she complained trying to push me away but I didn’t budge.

            “give me your hands.” I said looking straight at the stage. I offered my hands towards her.

The reason why my back was to her was that I can’t look at her and keep a straight face. I honestly think I might blush or something but since that is so not Kim Heechul I’d rather do it this way.

            “why?” she sounded doubtful.

            “aish! Just do it!” I demanded gesturing at my hands again.

I few moments later I felt her hands and boy are they cold.

            “yeesh! Your hands feel like they’ve been in the freezer for hours!” I said as I grasped her hands.

            “it’s not my fault if my hands gets cold if I’m nervous!” I heard her say and it almost made me laugh.

            “yah, don’t be nervous. Do it this way, when you’re up on the stage think that all those shouts are from your family, that they’re the only ones watching you and no one else.”

Ok, I am not usually like this, but I had to help her to relax.

I heard her taking in deep breaths; I guess my suggestion is working on her. Then, I felt her lean her head against my back and I stiffened in surprise.

            “thanks, Casey.” She simply said. Her hands weren’t shaking anymore nor was it cold. I felt myself smile.

I let go of her hands and turned to look at her.

            “see? There’s nothing Kim Heechul can’t do!” I said pointing at myself proudly.

I am so great! I mean the question for me should be like “what can’t you do?”

            “yeah yeah.” She said waving my words off but was obviously laughing herself.

            “hey, Zee, you ready?” Henry called over panting a little. They just finished their performance. Now it would be Eunhyuk’s dance.

            “as I’ll ever be.” SaeMi let out a sigh and I grinned.

Henry helped tie her mask and both of them started some exercises with their violins.

            “I really don’t get why you have to wear a mask.” I commented.

She could have just shown her face at least in that way the public would know her.

            “I told you, I don’t want any attention.” She sounded irritated. Can’t blame her since all of us have been telling her to not wear the mask.

A few minutes later Eunhyuk got off the stage and it was their turn.

            “break a leg.” I cheered her on giving her a wink. She just whispered thanks before walking towards the dark stage after the staff set up everything.

SaeMi half sat on a stool in the middle of the stage while Henry will be raised to the platform at the back.

SaeMi’s first note sounded all throughout the dome and all was quiet. It was a soft, careful sound; it was the kind of sound that reminds you of the forest with the sound of the river flowing around you.

The spotlight straight towards SaeMi.

            “wah! She looks…look…wow! Can’t even describe it!” I heard Donghae shout beside me. Leeteuk and Siwon were with him also surprised.

I looked at the crowd and they were all whispering. I guess they got curious on who the mystery violinist was.

The drums sounded and Henry appears from the back with a powerful music. If SaeMi’s was calm his bit was like the strong ocean waves. SaeMi stood up and started playing fast matching Henry’s speed. I can’t believe how they manage to add their own twist to the music piece. This was supposed to be a soft classical music and they actually managed to make it sound more modern and exciting.

The crowd went wild and most of them were shouting Henry.

When it was time for Henry’s solo part, SaeMi turned around and at that point I saw Kyuhyun come out from the other side of the stage with a rose in hand.

            “What is that kid doing?” I said loudly pointing at the maknae.

I saw Leeteuk and the others laugh when Kyuhyun place the rose behind SaeMi’s ear. The crowd went crazy again. This is not happening!

Henry turned and changed the piece into a slow one and at that I knew he was improvising. Henry was grinning as well.

            “are you guys up to something?” I turned to look at the members but noticed they weren’t there anymore! Siwon just handed a rose to SaeMi after Leeteuk did. Now Eunhyuk was up dancing with the flower in his mouth. SaeMi did not at all look happy, well, that makes the both of us!

Yesung just made his way up followed by Donghae.

            “ok that’s it!”

I went up the stage and went to Donghae, grabbed him by the back of his collar and dragged him off the stage much to the crowd’s amusement.

As I came down, SaeMi cut off Henry’s playing and played her solo part. The lights and special effects cued at that moment and she played like she would destroy the stage.

            “what the hell do you think you’re doing?!” I shouted at Donghae.

            “nothing, hyung. a welcoming gesture to Zee.” I saw the grin on his face, it means they were up to something.

            “yah, you all better tell me the truth.” I aimed my statement towards Leeteuk.

            “you were so hesitant to do something for her so we thought we might.” Leeteuk answered simply.

Me? Hesitant? Pff!

I was about to say something went the crowd’s sudden cheer and applause signaled the end of SaeMi and Henry’s performance.

            “why did you all do that?” SaeMi asked the members as she took off her mask, she was panting a little.

They all explained again how they intended it as their welcoming gesture for her. Yeah right! Whatever they said it was, I wasn’t buying it.

The concert went as planned and in no time it reached the end. Teukie called out Zhou Mi and Henry from the backstage for the final bow.

            “we would also like to thank our special guest this evening, let’s just call her Phantom, shall we?” Leeteuk asked the crowd while Zhou Mi translated it.

Everyone shouted and cheered. I guess they liked SaeMi.

Leeteuk called out SaeMi and she walked out with her mask on. She was also bowing to the crowd and stood in between Henry and Kyuhyun.

Oh sure, go to the cousin instead of the boyfriend.

We circled the stadium before we finally exited. After we got changed, we immediately went back to the hotel. I thought about our flight at 11 tomorrow, I guess another tiring day again.

We didn’t talk much when we got back to the hotel; most of us were too tired to talk. We just took off our make up and went to bed.

Next Day

Leeteuk’s POV

We woke up early today since we were due to leave the hotel at 7 for our flight back to Korea. I just finished packing most of my things and so did the other members. For breakfast, most of us ordered room service and just had sandwiches.

I was about to pack my laptop when an article caught my attention.

“Super Junior’s Masked Violinist Draws Fans’ Curiosity!”

Super Junior arrived at Guangzhou on the 24^th for their Super Show 3 concert tour at the Yuexiushan Stadium. Yesterday, the boys performed their usual powerful dances and songs and once again proved their popularity by the thousands of fans that came. But what drew the crowd’s attention and curiosity was the masked violinist who played alongside SJM’s well-known musical prodigy, Henry Lau.

Leeteuk also called her out for the final bow and had addressed her as “Phantom”. What made the fans even more curious was the fact that the members came out during the performance of the “Phantom” and gave her roses until Heechul dragged Donghae off the stage, to the laughter of the crowd.

Some fans speculated that the mystery woman was close to Super Junior and were asking why she was wearing a mask. Representatives from SM Entertainment said “She had kindly accepted our request to be the boys’ guest for the duration of their concert. In return, she had requested to keep her identity and we would like to respect her decision with regards to the matter.”

Fan videos from the concert had already circulated around the Internet and fans from all over the world are now trying to figure out the identity of the mystery woman.

I watched the video of Zee and Henry’s performance last night; pictures were also uploaded. I was right. Zee’s appearance at the concert would definitely draw attention; I guess she made the right decision to hide her identity.

I started to scroll down to read some of the comments.

‘Wah! She can play as well as Henry! Maybe she’s a trainee at SM?’

‘whoever she is, she better not be flirting with any of our boys.’

‘the boys know her! She’s so lucky to have received flowers from them. Lol at Heechul.’

‘maybe she’s Kyuhyun’s sister? Isn’t she a violinist? But I thought she’s still in Venice?’

‘maybe she’s ugly that’s why she doesn’t want to show her face.haha’

I stopped reading. At least there weren’t any aggressive comments yet. I closed my laptop and decided not to tell the others. It’s not something to get worried about anyway. But when we got to the airport I did ask Zee to walk with the staffs. I didn’t do it because I didn’t want her to be with us; I did it to avoid the fans taking the opportunity to guess and speculate who the ‘Phantom’ was.

She checked in a few minutes after we did and followed us to the VIP lounge. Most of us were still groggy and tired but in no time we had to board the plane.

Heechul’s POV

Due to the bad weather in Seoul, we will be making an emergency landing to Busan International Airport. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you.

 I heard the P/A announce and I looked at Teukie who was sitting beside me.

            “yah, we’re landing in Busan. What are we going to do?” I asked.

Leeteuk asked our manager who was behind us and said he’d make a phone call to the agency via the plane’s phone.

            “I guess some of our schedules will just have to be cancelled. It’s 3 hours from Busan to Seoul.” Leeteuk said glumly. But I wasn’t sad at all at least we could have a short rest.

I glanced at SaeMi who was sleeping on Henry’s shoulder. I guess she could do with some rest, she wasn’t used to our lifestyle after all. I just feel a bit bad for her that she had to walk far behind us in order to avoid the reporters and fans asking us about who the mystery violinist was.

Thanks to the unexpected landing however, that we were able to avoid the crowd of fans who’d usually greet us.

            “the bus that will take us back to Seoul is already on standby.” Our manager said as we got our luggage out.

a small group of reporters and fans met us but we had avoided them easily thanks to the airport security.

SaeMi was one of the last ones to board the bus; her violin was carried by one of the male staff, again to avoid more guessing. She sat at the back of the bus and didn’t talk at all. She was quiet back at the hotel too and I wondered what could possibly be wrong.

She was just seated 2 rows behind me, so I could glance back at her easily. Her head kept drooping as she slept and she looked uncomfortable.

            “aish! This girl will break her neck if she keeps this up!”

I stood up and took her bag for the seat beside her and placed it on mine. I glanced at Teukie who was asleep beside the maknae; the others in front were also asleep. I don’t hesitate to do things for her. They were so wrong.

I sat beside her slouched a little as I took her head with one of my hand and placed it on my shoulder. At least her head wouldn’t drop as much if she slept like this.

I looked at her as she sighed and adjusted her head on my shoulder. I smiled as she unconsciously hugged my arm. She really looked adorable this way, it’s not the feisty SaeMi who always argues with me.

            “I prefer you like this than your usual snappy self.” I whispered as I also closed my eyes and slept; my head dropping on top of hers.

Leeteuk’s POV

I felt the maknae elbow me about an hour after the bus had left. I woke up in surprise.

            “what?!” I almost shouted at him. I saw him sniggering while looking at a seat behind ours.

            “I told you my plan would work.” He simply said while pointing behind us before going back to sleep himself.

I stretched my neck to look at what he’s talking about and saw our resident couple sleeping. Zee’s head was on Heechul’s shoulder and his head was on top of hers. Zee hugged Heechul’s arm while Heechul held one of Zee’s hand.

It was so picturesque. Finally they started to act like a real couple.

I took my phone and took a picture; someday this will be useful. We didn’t wake up the others because I’m sure they will definitely ruin the moment. It’s still a long ride back to Seoul after all.
