Zee’s POV

            “yah, you alright?” Casey asked as he helped me off the stage.

We just finished our performance and it was nerve wrecking! The audiences weren’t just SJ fans but they were cheering anyway.

            “yeah, I’m just a bit shocked.” I felt my legs shake and the stilettos weren’t helping either.

            “you should be used to it by now, we still have a lot of destinations in our concert and your participation will surely be multiplied.” He sniggered as we passed some of the staff, thanking them as they took our lapels.

            “I’m trying, but I really don’t want to get used to this kind of lifestyle. This is not for me.” I gave him a weak smile taking off my mask.

            “I know, just have fun while it lasts, ok?” he said trying to encourage me.

He swung his arm around my shoulder as he led me to the waiting room. We passed by a lot of idols and they all greeted and congratulated us for our performance. But I can’t take the credit, Casey really did well and may I just say that those people who keep on saying that he can’t sing are probably deaf. I am saying this because it’s the truth and not because he’s my boyfriend.

            “see anyone you like?” he started to tease. He wriggled his eyebrows at me and showed me that famous smirk of his.

I really don’t get why he likes teasing me like this and when I try to go along with his antics he gets pissed. I felt my brows furrow staring up at him and his ridiculous hairstyle. I don’t know if it’s his or the hair stylist’s idea but making his hair lie flat and sleek like that made him look like he’s wearing a very shiny, black helmet.

             “stop teasing if you don’t really want to know the answer.” I grinned evilly. That’ll teach him.

His expression changed to a sad expression. He suddenly stopped and made a cute pout, which didn’t matched his “look” for that night.

            “ah wae??”  he started shaking his shoulders like he’s having one of his bratty moments.

            “are you really doing this?” I snorted. I put a hand over my mouth to keep myself from laughing too hard. This was just too much it was so cute and funny at the same time that I didn’t know what to make of it.

He didn’t stop and kept on doing his tiny tantrums.

            “you like someone else here, don’t you? If you do, I’m telling you I will not hold you back if you go to him.” He stuck his tongue out.

if he’s trying to test me or if he’s just fishing for compliments then he really picked the wrong girl.

            “alrighty then,” I shrugged, trying to let his plans backfire and I looked around as if trying to search for someone. “I wonder where TOP is.”

            “YAH!” he shouted and I couldn’t help it anymore and I broke into a fit of laughter. Casey got pissed and started to walk away.

            “hey you, don’t be to sulky you’re the one who started it after all.” I said grabbing his arm and hugging it.

            “don’t touch me, go find whoever you want to keep you company.”

He shook me off his arm and continued to sulk. So this is how he wanted to do it. Well then, two can play the same game.

            “fine, see you later, Mr. sulky!” I raised my nose up and started to walk away, but even then I didn’t know where I’m supposed to go if my plan failed.

I barely took 3 steps when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my shoulders then I felt the cheek of the owner of those arms on my own cheek. I seriously felt my face burn. It was a good that there weren’t that many people around and most of them were too busy with their stuffs to be noticing us.

            “you know I’m just fooling around with you right?” even if I couldn’t see him I knew he was smirking.

I elbowed him straight to his stomach, not that hard of course but hard enough to make him go ‘oof!’

            “I do know, so knock it off already.” I said irritably. I felt a little bit pissed at myself for blushing like this. I am not usually like this; I don’t blush easily.

            “you don’t have to hit me that hard. I don’t like getting bruises!” I heard him complain loudly. I turned around and saw him rubbing his stomach. I must’ve hit him harder than I thought.

            “Heechul oppa, Zee!” a female voice sounded behind Casey and me. He straightened up and I turned to look who it was. It was Victoria waving at us.

            “Victoria-ssi, hi! Saw your performance earlier, it was great.” Casey said as Victoria finally reached us.

I knew Victoria from the ski trip, of course. We haven’t talked that much, but I know a few things about her. At this point though, a familiar tall man who came and stood beside her and it caught my attention. He’s definitely eye candy, not really my type, but definitely a hottie. I’m sure a lot of girls have fallen for this guy’s good looks, not to mention those biceps of his.

            “annyeonghaseyo, Heechul hyung.” he gave a bow and shook Casey’s hand. Did I mention I kinda knew this guy already?

            “Nickhun-ah, have you been taking care of Victoria?” Casey asked with a hint of teasing in his voice.

            “of course, hyung! She’s my wife, you know.” Nickhun gave his boyish smile. No wonder Victoria fell for this guy.

These two really look good together I got to admit that even if a certain someone from another party who is really close to me is getting hurt.

            “you better, she’s got a lot of brothers from the company who’ll come to her rescue if you hurt her.” Casey laughed. They were really dating now, not just in We Got Married, but they are really a real life couple, although they didn’t confirm it to the public yet.

All three of them were laughing and I am here standing like an idiot feeling really awkward.

            “by the way, Nickhun-ssi, this is Zee Lau, she’s the cousin of Super Junior M’s Henry Lau and a friend to everyone from the company.” Victoria cheerfully introduced me. At least she noticed me.

            “hi, I’m 2PM’s Nickhun. Nice performance, by the way. So you’re from Canada too?” he asked. He’s so charming, I bet he always have a lot of girls running after him even before his debut.

            “yes, I am.” I answered him in english before looking at Victoria. “ni men liang ge zai yi qi hao kan.*” I winked at her in mandarin and I saw her blush putting a finger to to shush me. I laughed and gestured zipping my mouth.

            “I didn’t know you could speak mandarin.” Casey commented beside me with a confused expression on his face. I gave him an exasperated expression.

            “I’m first and foremost, Chinese, so it kinda goes with the territory, duh!” Nickhun and Victoria laughed at us. Casey looked at them with a slightly apologetic look.

            “don’t mind her, she’s always this moody during this time of the month.”

WHACK!!!

            “I’m so not!” how dare he talk about the thing so openly to other people?! And besides I’m not having it at the moment.

            “yah! Stop hitting me already; you’ve been doing that a lot today. if you don’t quit it I will really make you pay.” He threatened rubbing his arm. I didn’t hesitate to hit him really hard.

            “you two really look like a couple.” Nickhun commented offhandedly as he put an arm around Victoria’s waist.

Both of us became still and quiet and still for a second before Casey burst out laughing.

            “Nickhun-ssi, they are a couple.” Victoria confirmed shyly putting a hand on Nickhun’s shoulder. His round eyes widened.

            “oh, jinjja?!” I guess he really didn’t see this one coming; he was so shocked.

            “hard to believe?” I asked amused at Nickhun.

            “it’s not that, it’s just that Taecyon said a while ago that he’d really like to meet you.” I was speechless. That huge dude wanted to meet me?!

Before I could say anything else Casey put an arm around my shoulders.

            “yah, tell him to keep his eyes on Yoona instead of letting it wander all the time or else I’ll gouge it out.” he’s on alpha mode now. It’s really funny.kekeke

            “I’ll send your message to him. Anyway, it was nice talking to you, hyung but we have to go now. It was nice to meet you, Zee” Nickhun said as he bid us goodbye holding Victoria’s hand.

            “see you around, Victoria. nice meeting you too.” I waved goodbye and so did Casey.

We walked towards the waiting room and I cant help but feel a little bit guilty. I knew how Kyuhyun felt about Victoria, but I can’t also deny the fact that those two really do love each other.

             “they really complement each other well, but I can’t really say I’m 100% happy about it knowing Kyuhyun likes her.” I told Casey crossing my arms.

            “that maknae is old enough to know what he’s getting himself into. Don’t worry too much about it.” He replied tinkering with his phone.

I looked at him and I knew that even in his casual manner he still worried about Kyu.

I let out a sigh remembering the look on Kyuhyun’s face during that time he told me everything.

Flashback

Sometime in November

So glad I managed to close a bit early tonight. I’m so tired I can’t wait to finally relax. KimShin and EunHee went out with the other staff to a karaoke bar, which means I have the apartment all to myself.

I heard noises when I opened the door, I wonder who could be in. it couldn’t be Henry of course. I heard gunshots and other noises you hear from war movies and I finally knew who could be in. Kyuhyun.

Sure enough he was there sitting in the living room with all his gadgets set up on the small table.

            “Kyuhyun-ah, you really got to stop coming in here to play. One might think you live here.” I said hanging my coat and bag.

            “this is the safest place for me to play away from Leeteuk hyung.” he replied not looking away from the screen.

            “don’t you mean this is the most convenient place?” I asked amused. I flopped beside him and watched his game. I had half a mind to try and piss him off by closing his laptop. hehehe

I looked around for my dog but then I realized he must be in my room. I really don’t know how Kyuhyun can make my dog go there every time he comes here.

I decided to watch some TV and grabbed the remote. I usually don’t watch with too much volume so it shouldn’t bother him much.

            “hey isn’t she from your company?” I asked him pointing to the TV as I recognized the girl. I knew she was from the same company as the boys because Henry is close to one of her group members. If I’m not mistaken her name is Amber.

I saw Kyu look up for a second.

            “yeah she is. Her name’s Victoria from f(x).” He answered a little bit snobbishly and continued on with his game. If I weren’t used to it, I’d find his behavior rude.

I continued watching the show; I just realized it was “We Got Married”. She and her “husband” really looked cute. I can’t help but feel all mushy inside when they act so sweet.

            “wah, they really look good together. They look as if they’re really going out for real.” I said to Kyuhyun. As much as I knew he didn’t want to be disturbed while playing, I just can’t help but comment on it.

To my shock I heard Kyuhyun let out an exasperated sigh closed his laptop and leaned back on the couch.

            “that’s because they’re really going out.” he said in a tone that I can’t really describe. He sounded mad and distraught at the same time.

            “say what? They’re real? But how can that happen?” I asked confused. This show is supposed to be scripted or something of the sort.

            “Victoria told me a few weeks ago. They became a couple a few months after their first meeting in the show, but no one knows about it.” No wonder those two look really comfortable with their sweetness; they’re real!

            “that’s good then, isn’t it? Well, as long as their fans wouldn’t object to it coz they really look like they really care for each other.”

            “how can you say that? What if Khun just suddenly change his mind and then ends up hurting Victoria? We all know he grew up in a foreign country so he might think of ditching her just like that. Look at him!” I was shocked hearing him talk like this. I was really taken aback that I became momentarily speechless.

            “even if Khun seems like a chick magnet, I don’t think he’s that kind of guy. I mean no guy would really be a two timer or something if he’s close to his sisters.” I tried to explain giving Khun the benefit of the doubt.

            “fine. Go defend him; I know you’ve fallen for his charms. You and all the other girls out there.” He said sulkily. He looked like a toddler who just had his toy taken.

Then it hit me. All the pieces came together that I had to laugh.

            “yah, do you like her?” I asked. Call it woman’s intuition, but I knew this would be the reason.           

            “bwoh?! I’m just…concerned for her. She’s…she’s one of my best friends you know.” He stuttered and rapidly blinked his eyes. The look of a guilty man.

            “you didn’t answer my question and there’s no use denying it. I know you like her, so spill it!” I demanded crossing both my arms and legs on the couch as I faced him.

He stared at me in frustration.

            “this is why I don’t like talking to women about girls.” He muttered and blushed. “fine, I like her. What do you suggest I do?”

            “I really am not an expert in the whole love institution, Kyu. I can say this much though, if you really like her let her be with whoever she wants, but never stop being there for her when she needs you.” I can’t encourage him to go after Victoria after seeing how happy she is with Nickhun, but Kyu needs to know this.

            “I really want her to be with me though.” He said sadly looking at the TV.

            “yah, what if those two would bring their relationship to the next level. What will you do?” I know they’re too young to be thinking about it but who knows right?

            “ani, don’t say that. It won’t happen.”

            “but what if it does? Anything can happen you know.” I said. Poor kid.

            “you really think it’s possible?” he asked. He’s looking pitiful by the moment.

            “I don’t know, by the look of those two they seem to be really hitting it off.” I jerked my thumb to the TV. Kyuhyun slouched even more and sighed deeply.

            “life is so unfair. I wonder if I should hit the gym and start working out. maybe she’d finally look my way if I’d start looking like Nickhun.” I think he accidentally said his thoughts aloud.

I snorted really loud. I can’t imagine him really buff. He’d look really awkward.

            “life’s unfair? Compared to what?” I laughed. “And I don’t really think being buff really suits you, Kyu.” I tried hard to stifle my laughter. Kyuhyun glared at me.

            “yeah yeah, keep rubbing it in that I’m just one scrawny guy next to that beast idol.” He sulked. I wanna take a picture but I think I would really be adding insult to injury so might as well leave it for another day.

            “the truth sometimes hurt, my dear Kyuhyun. I can’t let you just go and chase someone who looks like a lost case already. Look at it this way; every dark cloud has its silver lining. You believe in destiny, unexpected meetings and those kinds of stuff right? not to mention the number of fangirls you have who’d be willing to answer your every beck and call” I teased wriggling my eyebrows at him.

            “oh ha ha, very funny.” He said sarcastically. I just laughed.

             “C’mon I’ll cook you some dinner.” I stood up and dragged him to the kitchen.

I only planned to make him stand there and keep me company while I cook. I learned a long time ago not to trust this guy alone in the kitchen. We talked about other things and he did look a bit better.

New Year

Heechul’s POV

            “Heechul-ah, wake up!”

this can’t be happening! It must be just my dream that I’m shaken not really real so better go back to sleep.

            “yah! Wake up!” the voice screamed again as he shook me awake.

Lying flat on my stomach I managed to open my eyes slightly. My room is still dark, thank the dark curtains for that, but a silhouette of a man is visible.

            “what do you want?” I grumbled not even bothering to find out who it was.

            “yah! It’s almost noon, you better get up!” I felt my blankets pulled off of me. Argh! Someone really wants to die today!

I haven’t slept well since we got home really late. SaeMi even fell asleep in the car and I had to support her to her apartment coz she was wobbling too much. She’s really like a drunken person when she’s tired and sleepy. I wasn’t all that happy. If you must know I almost broke my back!

            “better give me back my blanket or else you’ll die.” I threatened in my sleepy voice trying to grab my blanket.

            “aish! everyone's already up! Yah get up!” this sounds kind of familiar.

            “Park JungSu! I know we don’t have schedules today so leave me the hell alone!” I tried hitting him with one of my fan-given stuffed animals.

            “yah! Stop it. We may not have schedules but we have a New Year’s dinner to prepare.” Leeteuk said, more like nagged, more but I put one of my pillows on top of my head muffling the sound of his nagging voice.

            “go away! Just go book a reservation at a restaurant and be done with it!” I said still under my pillow.

            “be like that then, don’t blame me if you don’t get a gift for Zee.” Leeteuk said before marching away.

Seriously that hovering attitude of his really gets on my nerves. Besides I’m not an idiot, I already have Zee’s gift no need to fuss about it. That dinner better go smoothly and Void better be on his best behavior. The last time we all ate dinner outside; he ate most of the food before we could even get a mouthful.

8 pm

we’re finally at the restaurant Sungmin booked for us. It wasn’t fancy, it’s what all of us prefer you know. A simple dinner with friends to celebrate the new year. I’m not really into the whole event but it’s not always that all of us can gather like this.

Snap out of it, Kim Heechul! You’re getting sentimental!

            “anyone up for a game while we eat?” Void suggested.

            “NO!!!” all of us replied without having second thoughts.

            “c’mon you party poopers! What’s the fun of this dinner without a little bit of game?” he said trying to lure us into his absurd games again.

While Void was trying to convince Donghae and Eunhyuk to play with him my eyes fell on Leeteuk.

            “I guess this dinner is not going as well as Leeteuk planned.” I said sniggering at SaeMi who was at my right talking to Henry, who looked quite frustrated.

            “you think?” SaeMi said sarcastically, laughing as well. “poor Leeteuk oppa, his energy for tonight all got drained trying to deal with Hanna.”

            “why does she have to come with us in the first place?” Henry said angrily glaring at his fangirling sister.

            “you think you got it bad?” I said jerking my thumb at Void who was now testing Siwon’s patience.

Henry opened his mouth and made a long ‘ahh’ before gulping and nodding once.

            “I think I get you now.” He looked down immediately gulping down his soup.

I slouched back on my chair swinging my arm at the back of SaeMi’s chair.

            “hyung, do you have any plans for your solo on our next concert?” Siwon asked, he obviously looked like he was escaping any more of my brother’s antics.

            “SaeMi and I are working on something.” I said calmly. SaeMi on the other hand snapped her head towards me.

            “we are?” she asked confused.

            “no fair! We’re working on something, too!” Kyuhyun interrupted. I kicked him form under the table since he was just sitting in front of me.

            “I’m the boyfriend so I should be the priority.” I retorted at the maknae.

            “yah! Wait a sec. we are working on something? How come I don’t know anything about this?” can’t she just go along with me instead of telling everyone?

            “we will be. I already have something in mind.” I winked at her; she just glared back. Kekeke

she was about to open and lash at me when Henry suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs.

            “HANNA BETTER STOP THIS INSTANT OR SO GOD HELP ME, I WILL DRAG YOU TO THE AIRPORT AND SEND YOU BACK TO CANADA!!!” Hanna who was now hugging Leeteuk’s arm jumped in her seat.

the maknae finally had enough eh?kekeke I saw Leeteuk mouth his thanks to Henry.

            “bad swag bro, don’t just shout. Go drag that kid to the airport. We don’t need a fangirl here.” Void said beside me. Pointing his chopsticks at Henry with his mouth full of food.

            “who are you calling a kid, you scrawny git?!” Hanna shouted back holding a pair of tongs.

            “oh ho! Scrawny git, am I? Remember the name, dear dwarf it’s Void. The iest man alive, the creator of the swag.” He boasted gesturing to his body.

I am so tired of his so-called “swag” that I don’t even have the will to stop him. I guess I’ll just have to sit back and enjoy my brother and Hanna’s verbal spat…keke

            “let me guess, you’re having too much fun to stop them, aren’t you?” SaeMi whispered beside me. She knows me too well.kekeke

            “yup! Besides, it’s too tiresome having to deal with his immature quirks.” I said taking a gulp of beer.

SaeMi was laughing beside me while Hanna and Void continued on with their squabble. The others were having their own discussions.

Eunhyuk, Donghae, Sungmin, ZhouMi and Kyuhyun were now playing a game, which I can’t understand, but the loser will have to drink whatever it is that they put into that huge pitcher. It looked like muck, a combination of drinks and sauces…yuck!

            “call me scrawny again and I’ll—“ Void’s voice rang through the room again as I saw him pointing threateningly at Hanna.

            “or you’ll what? Slap your non-existing swag at me?” Hanna retorted before Void can say anything else.

            “first of all, I’m full of the swag and second I’ll post Leeteuk hyung pictures on the internet, let see how the press will make of that!”

Hanna’s face looked like it was about to burst into flames. Fangirls are always loyal to their biases and if those kinds of pictures leak out…well, let’s just say the leaker won’t live for very long.

            “yah! Do that and you’re dead, Void.” Leeteuk threatened.

            “fret not my dear hyung, it’s not like you’ve got something to stare at anyway.” Void grinned. Time to take matters into my own hands.

            “hey dongsaeng, remember that time when we went to that trip with mom and dad and noona? That one in Jeju?” I tried to sound innocent and calm. But I can now see the change in Void’s expression.

            “y…yeah…what about it, my famous celebrity brother?” this is the best blackmail material ever.

            “you do know that I still got the pictures right?” now I sound menacing.

            “I do…” I can hear the puppy squeaks now…

            “if you don’t want me to show it better delete those photos of Teukie.” Void gave me one of his glares. “and oh, please get some more creative materials next time.”

            “I hate it when you use that against me. One day, hyung I will get you for something. Mark my words.”

            “yeah yeah yeah…but until that day, you better behave yourself.” I waved him off and looked at the others.

Questions rang out through the room asking me what that photo was. But for the sake of my brother’s face I didn’t tell them exactly what it was and just said that it was just what we’d call “an epic wardrobe malfunction”.

When we were a bit younger we on a trip and the place we stayed at gave us some costumes to wear since there was some sort of celebration that time. Void was too young and skinny then that the owner’s gave him a girl’s costume. They gave me one too but I was smart enough to realize what it was. Well, Void wore and loved it. He was just a kid so we let him go on with it posing at the camera and all that. kekeke  haven’t showed it to anyone, he is my brother after all, but if he really goes waaay out of line one of these days I will definitely reveal it.

            “you wanna look at it?” I whispered at SaeMi.

            “no thanks. I don’t want my eyes to be scarred for life.” She said laughing.

            “hey I heard that! And there’s no need for your eyes to be scarred since it’s already damaged. How else could you have said yes to my brother without having to suffer seeing his tranny face all the time?” Void said taking a bite of whatever it is he ordered again.

I gave him a whack to the back of his head. He coughed, choking.

            “you better remember we share the same genes so when you call me tranny, you’re also calling yourself one.”

            “sharing the same genes with you is already a curse, hyung.” he replied grudgingly as he thumped his chest.

            “before anything goes wild here, I think it’s time for us to give out the gifts.” Siwon announced. Always the peace-loving guy.

it’s like Christmas all over again except we didn’t exchange gifts then. Sungmin was handing out pink stuffs again(I wish he’d stop).  Siwon some cool stuffs, like shirts, cool shades etc, thank goodness no religion stuff. Void as usual, gave out some pretty ridiculous things. He gave Teukie a real duckling, which gave him quite a shock.

            “last but not the least to my dear brother and his girlfriend.”

            “whatever it is I don’t want it.” I said immediately.

            “hyung! I’m hurt! You haven’t even seen it yet.” he said feigning being hurt and clutched his heart. My brother is getting more and more ridiculous as he age.

            “that’s coz whatever you give is never good.” I replied simply not even looking at him. SaeMi was just too amused to say anything.

            “yeesh! Cut me some slack here. I promise it’s not bad, maybe a bit tacky but still it’s harmless.” He pouted at me and I grimaced. Every time he does aegyo it looked ridiculous.

            “fine. Give it. Stop doing aegyo, it doesn’t suit you?” I said opening my palm to him.

            “and you think it does to you?” he retorted as he searched something in his pocket.

I didn’t get the chance to say anything back as he dropped two black, leather-braided bracelets on my hand.

            “what are these supposed to be?” I asked holding it up. I gave the other one to SaeMi. I admit it does look tacky but still harmless enough. But then again these bracelets might be made from some weird animal or something.

            “well, I passed by an antique shop when I bought a gift for mom, when I saw that. I didn’t know what came over me and I just felt buying it for you two. It’s cheap so no worries. The owner said if lovers wear it and it wont break off then they’d live happily every after or whatever. I really didn’t pay attention.” I raised an eyebrow at my brother.

            “since when did you believe in fairytales, Void?” Eunhyuk asked sniggering.

            “Eunchovy, if you were paying any attention I said something just told me to buy it, with or without that ridiculous story I still would’ve bought it. I think that old lady just tells crazy stories like that one to be able to sell her stuff.” He said mockingly at Eunhyuk, and then he shrugged and continued to eat.

            “I guess it’s safe to wear this then?” SaeMi asked holding hers up.

            “I think so.” I replied putting hers on her wrist for her before looking back at my brother. “you better pray that nothing happens to us, Void. If we end up with rashes on our arms you better hope those pictures don’t spread far enough to California.”

He didn’t answer and just waved me off.

            “hyung, what about your gift to Zee?” Kyuhyun asked grinning with a glint of his evilness in his eyes.

            “you really think I didn’t get her something, did you?” I grinned back at him.

I took out from my pocket an inch-sized, gold cat charm.

            “since you’re too much of a dog-person I thought you should have some other animal with you.” I tried to but her reaction was kind of weird. She looked amused and shocked.

            “I guess I should also give you my gift then.” She opened her bag and showed me the same thing but this time it was a dog charm.

We both ended up laughing.

            “you know what’s even weird?” Kyuhyun said looking frustrated resting his cheek on his fists. “that you two are so different in so many ways yet can find some way to think the same.”

            “you don’t really make sense, Kyu.” SaeMi said reaching out and poking Kyu’s forehead.

            “exactly.” Was all Kyuhyun answered.

Looking at my charm I’m thinking where I should put this. Should I make this into a pendant or a phone charm?

I’ll worry about that later. At least this is the first gift from her that I won’t be able to hide.
