Zee’s POV

Casey and I just arrived at MBC at around 6pm. I didn’t really know what to do and I felt lost. I walked with the coordinators on purpose so the attention of the crowd would be at Casey. I didn’t think the audience knew that I would be coming tonight so no pressure there.

Wait! What am I thinking no pressure? Tons of other celebrities will be there! I shouldn’t have said yes to this stinking thing in the first place! Argh!

We kept on walking till we got into the backstage hallway where tons of idols are practicing their performances. This must be a fangirl’s dream, good thing I’m not one of them.

I felt someone held my hand and I looked up then and saw Casey.

            “you okay? Or are you getting starstrucked?” he teased. I furrowed my eyebrows.

            “I am not starstrucked! I am just nervous and overwhelmed. The last time I was surrounded by idols was during that ski trip Yunho dragged me to.” It was his turn to furrow his brows; I didn’t care and just stuck my tongue out.

            “Zee noona!” I turned to look at who called me and saw Key running and gave me a brief hug before he greeted Casey.

            “hey Key, haven’t seen you in a long time. How are you?” I smiled at him. I really missed this kid along with Taemin, they were the sweetest kids I’ve ever met, although Key kind of reminds me of a younger version of Casey.

            “I’m ok, been busy these days but its work, you know.” He grinned swinging my arm that he was holding.

            “yah, what are you doing here alone, Key? Where are the others?” Casey asked. He was still holding my hand.

“still getting ready in the waiting room. By the way, congratulations to you two.” He whispered and winked as a group of muscle-y idols passed.

I blinked and looked up at Casey who didn’t seem to be surprised at all.

            “how did you know?” I asked even though I already have an idea how he knew it.

            “he must’ve heard it from Minho, am I right?” Casey asked grinning a bit.

            “yep!” Key answered looking smug. People might say Taemin is the next Casey but I can’t help but think that he and Key have much more in common. I guess you just can’t have two “divas” together.

            “wait, if Minho knows, then he must’ve heard it from—“ I trailed off my sentence and looked at Key then at Casey who grinned even more widely and nodded,

            “you’re finally catching on now, I see. Yes, he heard it from Kyuhyun.” Casey calmly answered.

I’ll get that starcraft loving maknae soon!

            “you don’t have to worry. What goes on between the people inside the company stays within the company. Not unless you want to blab it to someone else, that’s an entirely different story.” Key blabbed on while eyeing a group of girls who passed by. I guess they’re the ones from After School.

            “I think it’s better to keep this quiet. I really have no plans on getting mobbed by his fans. I must be crazy for getting myself into this mess.” I said crossing my arms.

I flinched when Casey elbowed be lightly with an opposing expression on his face.

            “yah! What do you mean by that? You’re regretting this now?” he said loudly. It was almost a shout but since there were a lot of people he had to control it a bit.

I didn’t answer and just rolled my eyes and looked at Key.

            “how’s Jonghyun, by the way? I heard he injured his leg.” I can still feel Casey’s glaring eyes on me but I didn’t care.

            “he’s ok but still can’t really dance yet, so he’ll be sitting down later during our performance.” Key replied a bit hesitantly looking alternately at Casey and me.

I better save him from the onslaught I knew was about to happen.

            “that’s good to hear, Key. Anyway, I think you better get back to them before they’ll start panicking.”

            “they won’t but then again…nevermind. See yah, Zee noona, Heechul hyung.” Key gave a short bow and waved goodbye.

I still didn’t look at Casey as he lead me towards our waiting room, well, Super Junior’s waiting room to be exact. But since I’m sort of their guest, I’m in the same waiting room with them. As of now it’s only the two of us with a few of the coordinators.

He made me sit on the couch and he sat beside me, then he glared.

            “do you want to tell me something?” he started. He adjusted in his seat as he rested his arm on the back of the sofa.

            “tell you what?” I asked innocently.

            “don’t play innocent with me. You know what I mean.” He sounded impatient.

I rolled my eyes. Yes, I know I must be crazy for getting into this relationship but then again I also know that I didn’t regret any of it.

            “fine. I will only say this once and will never repeat it ever again. What I’ve decided then, I never regretted. Period.” I said with a finality that made him not say anything for a while.

            “fine.” He simply said and stood up. But I swear I could see a hint of a smile on his face or maybe not.

            “where are you going?” I asked as he headed towards the door.

            “I will be performing earlier with Simon D so I have to find some company for you before then.” He said before closing the door.

That seriously took me aback but I couldn’t help but smile. Most people really don’t see this side of him often I wish they could.

I sat back down my smile fading as I thought of something. I know how I am in a relationship and it scared me. I build walls around me so I don’t get hurt but Alexander broke it down and made me vulnerable, I thought he was different but I was wrong. Then Casey broke the even stronger walls I put up now I don’t know what’s going to happen. I know I usually become a softy when it comes to relationships so I’m utterly terrified.

            “you can trust him, you know.” A familiar voice said and it made me jump. I turned around and saw Kyuhyun grinning from a chair, one of the stylists just finishing his hair.

I didn’t realize he was already here. I thought most of the members would be arriving later.

            “Kyuhyun? I didn’t know you were here already. I thought you and the others would be arriving later.” I asked confused.

He stood up, thanked his hair stylist and sat beside me.

            “some of the members are here already, they’re just out hanging out with friends or practicing. It’s not my fault you were…hmmm…distracted.” He emphasized on the word. I gave him sarcastic smile and he laughed.

            “whatever, Kyu.” I gave a sigh and slouched, I stared at my violin.

            “anyway, I know what you’re thinking and as I’ve said earlier you can trust him.” He said in a low voice.

I stayed still and quiet for a moment before looking at him.

            “how can you know what I’m thinking?” I asked readying to deny what I knew he meant. He looked at me incredulously

            “Zee, we’ve known each other for like what, 7 months now? And I’ve been hanging out in your apartment every time I escape to play, but we do talk. And I know how vulnerable you feel about getting close to guys. I mean being romantically close with them. I can see how guarded you still are around hyung, but you can trust him.” He explained smiling a little.

            “care to let your hyung hear you say that?” I teased.

            “hell no!” he refused loudly his eyes wide. “we all know how he is, he might strangle me. Though he may be crazy and all that but I can say that hyung is one loyal guy. He might not express it openly but he is.” He looked at me. “and you already know that, you’re just afraid to admit it to yourself.” He grinned.

I smiled back, I feel relaxed around this evil guy. He’s probably my closest guy friend and I thank him for listening to me when I needed someone to listen.

            “you really know me then.” I chuckled.

            “I’m an observer.” He said laughing. “Besides, even before you two got together, I already see you as a sister.”

            “you really love exaggeration, don’t you?” I laughed.

            “yah, I’m serious here. You’re one of my closest girl friends. You’ve listened to my petty problems as well, so we’re even.” He said poking at my ribs. I whacked his hands.

            “fine fine! I was just kidding. I knew that already.” I broke into fits of laughter as he tickled me. I panted when he finally stopped.

            “good then.”

            “I also treat you as a brother, Kyu, as much as all of you make me crazy sometimes with you guys casually coming in and out of my apartment, shocking all of us there.” I tried not to sound complaining.

            “but you love us still.” He laughed. “you know I kinda feel like we’re twins sometimes.” He said staring towards the mirrors. I sat up.

            “say what?” I asked scoffing a little.

            “I mean you are like my evil twin. We’re the evil twins!hahaha” he broke into fits of laughter.

The way he was holding his stomach laughing his head off made me laugh as well. It also made me laugh that our conversation didn’t make sense at all anymore.

After our crazy nonsense conversation, one of the coordinators to called me to get ready and Kyuhyun stood up and left to look for the others. As I sat at the chair I thought where Casey was now and what could be taking him so long.

I changed into the dress they gave me. It was a long, black tube gown, lined with silver glitters in the back. It was so simple but I loved it. They braided my long hair and made it fall over the front. My makeup was still a bit the same during the concert, a smoky brown look to make it look mysterious as I put on my mask. Speaking of my mask, it was silver now with black glitters as accent this time. And it matched perfectly with the gown.

As the stylists were just adding the finishing touches, the door opened and in came Casey followed by a very familiar face.

Casey stared stunned at me for a second before he spoke. I almost laughed at that.

            “SaeMi, didn’t know you were finished. I would’ve come back earlier but Kyuhyun said you were getting ready.” He said looking away.

            “I’m done now. How are things out there?” I asked, as the noise got considerably louder.

            “it’s a complete riot out there, anyway, Hongki’s here to keep you company for a while, I have to get ready now before I miss my performance.” He said almost stuttering.

I laughed at him as he sat down in one of the chairs and the stylists gathered around him immediately.

I looked at Hongki who motioned me outside. I smiled and followed me out.

            “hyung, told me all about you.” He started nervously. My fingers were fidgeting with my mask on my hand.

            “he did now?” I asked sounding a bit amused.

            “yep! I haven’t seen hyung so…” he looked up pouting and it looking like he was thinking about the next thing to say. “there’s no other word for it…happy.”

            “he makes me happy too, but we’re still trying to get comfortable. Everything is just too sudden.” I was surprised at my confession at one of my boyfriend’s bestfriends.

            “he is too. It’s been a long time but at least he has you now. Wish you both happiness.” He looked at me smiling.

            “you make it sound like Casey and I are about to get married soon.” I laughed and so did he.

            “c’mon, I’ll introduce you to the other members of FT Island.” He winked.

Hongki led me to where his other members were and introduced me. They were just a bunch of kids laughing and having and it made me happy to see them enjoying what they do. Hongki also introduced me to the members of CN Blue who were hanging out with them. They all look so cute honestly and they were all so funny that I cant stop laughing with them.

The other idols we met along the way asked who I was of course. I’ve heard them say ‘ahh, Super Junior’s mysterious violinist’, ‘so this is the Phantom’ and such words. They were surprisingly indifferent about it and it made me happy. Why? No more awkward questions.

            “Zee?” a female voice behind Honki asked. I peered behind me and saw someone who made me smile widely.

            “Boa unnie!” I called excitedly as we hugged each other.

            “I knew it was you. Why didn’t you tell me you’d be performing? I thought you didn’t like it?” she asked. She was so pretty tonight.

            “you know how your president is, he persuaded me.” I answered her smiling.

She looked at Hongki and the others and excused us. She dragged me off to a corner and I think I already knew what she was about to say.

            “unnie, I know what you’re gonna say—“ I tried to say before she could start but she still cut me off.

            “I told you, didn’t I?” she said frowning, then her face broke into a wide smile. “you two might have taken a long time but at least you still got here! Congratulations!” she squealed and hugged me. I laughed and hugged her back.

            “fine, you’re always right, unnie, and I will always listen to you.” I said jokingly. She lightly slapped my arm

            “don’t you mock me.”

            “trust me, that’s the last thing I would do.”

We both continued on with our conversation and she kept on asking questions about Casey and me. I was honestly reluctant to answer her questions but I can’t escape her probing. You can’t imagine how my ears hurt from her long rant about how the two of us should be acting like a real couple rather than a pair of awkward teens who just had their first relationship.

She kept on slapping my arm every time I laugh. I can’t help it! Sorry!

            “BoA-ssi, your manager is looking for you.” I think it was one of her coordinators said.

            “tell him I’ll be right there.” She told the woman before she looked at me. “we’re still not finished, Zee.”

            “I know and by the time you are finished with me, I’d probably be deaf.” I grinned and she laughed as she walked away.

What to do now? I’m in a crowded hallway not knowing anybody else. I looked around and no sign of Hongki or any of his friends. Now I’m in trouble now, I can’t be lost!

I should probably go back to Super Junior’s waiting room, but the question is where is it? Argh! If I have to look at every door in here to find where it is I will!

I picked up my gown and walked briskly passing 6 waiting rooms, but no go, it was the waiting rooms for BEAST, 2NE1, 2PM, 2AM, Miss A, and DAVICHI. Yeesh! You’d think I’d pass by some of SM’s groups, but no! I saw a corner and I hope I’d be lucky on the other side.

BAM!

I was about to turn when I felt like I hit a wall and fell to the floor. Am I that dizzy already?

I held my head and looked up and saw that I bumped into someone. Someone with white hair, his hair was all up that it made him looked like he was just electrocuted. Well, like what you see in comedy movies anyway.

            “so sorry, I didn’t see you coming. Are you okay?” he said as he offered me his hand. I took it and he helped me up.

            “it’s ok, I was in a hurry so I guess I also wasn’t paying attention.” I shook my head a bit. I felt a tad bit dizzy. You would too if you smack yourself to someone as big as he is.

            “are you ok?” I heard him asking again and I looked at him again and nodded. I didn’t pay much attention to his face but he kind of reminded me of Hongki, a manlier and fiercer version of Hongki.

            “have you seen my mask?” I asked as I realized I let it go when I fell.

            “you mean this?” he said as holding it up. “I picked it up. Sorry again. I’m Big Bang’s Choi Seunghyun, by the way, but you can call me TOP.” He introduced himself as he gave me back my mask.

            “thank  you, and I’m Zee, Zee Lau.” I smiled, I’ve heard of that group but as usual I didn’t pay close attention. All I knew was that Henry appeared in Strong Heart once with 2 of Big Bang’s members.

He gave me a puzzled look.

            “no offense, but you are performing tonight right?” I nodded answering his question. “but how come I’ve never heard of you.”

            “you must’ve heard of me by my other name.” I feel like I sounded arrogant. Trying not to say anymore, I put on my mask and looked at him and understanding dawned upon his face.

            “ahh… so you’re the one they call Phantom? It’s a pleasure to finally see the beautiful face behind the mask; a pity that it has to be hidden behind it.” He gave me a flirtatious smile. Sadly, it had no effect on me.

            “you’re one smooth talker, I see.” I said taking my mask off.

            “I am the one and only TOP of course.” He pointed at himself and gave a princely bow and looked up at me again smiling.

            “SaeMi!” I found myself flinching at the voice, I don’t know why.

TOP and I turned and saw Casey walking, no, marching toward us. With or without those eye-lined eyes of his I knew he wasn’t happy.

Heechul’s POV

Just as I finished changing and all that they called me immediately for the performance and I didn’t even get the chance to see SaeMi, but if she were with Hongki she’d be fine.

As soon as I walked down the stage, I immediately went looking for her. Yes, I am seriously sounding like a lovesick puppy or whatever you might want to call it. But I felt it was my responsibility for her to be comfortable here since she only knew a few people. She’s one person that didn’t like to be out of place.

I saw FT Island and my smile became frown when I realized SaeMi wasn’t with them.

            “Hongki-ah, where’s SaeMi?” I asked putting a hand to his shoulders.

            “she went with BoA noona a few minutes ago.” Hongki pointed to a corner.

            “but I just saw BoA talking to her manager.” I didn’t want to be angry but I really am starting to be.

            “eh? She didn’t come back here, hyung. Maybe she went back to look for you in your waiting room.” I thanked Hongki trying not to let my temper get the best of me, I was just asking him for a favor after all.

I passed by some waiting rooms, f(x), Infinite, SISTAR and U-KISS, but still no sign of her.

I rounded another corner and saw TOP helping someone up. It is so like TOP to find a girl to flirt with even in the midst of a busy schedule.

But I froze when I saw who the girl was and felt my fist clench. Never have I felt jealous like this, and neither will I admit this to anyone.

I saw how TOP flirted with her with his princely bow and probably with his sugarcoated words, which were probably, as much as I hate to admit it, true.

I couldn’t take it anymore and I marched toward them.

            “SaeMi!” I called loudly at her and saw her flinch. They both turned to my direction; SaeMi had a knowing look on her face while TOP looked surprised.

            “oh, Heechul hyung, annyeonghaseyo.” He greeted bowing, I greeted back.

            “where have you been? I’ve been looking for you everywhere, it’s almost time.” I said curtly not giving her a chance to speak as I grabbed her wrists and dragged her away from TOP after I said my goodbye.

TOP knows how I am; he’ll get over it.

After a few strides she matched my steps and was able to keep up with me. She didn’t take her wrist away and I figured that was because I wasn’t grabbing it tightly.

We finally stopped at an empty hallway, before I turned to look at her.

            “what?” she asked sounding impertinent. Can’t blame her, she’s always feisty.

            “what were you doing flirting with TOP?” I asked angrily.

            “me!? Flirting?! Are you out of your mind? I was so not.” She said angrily. She looked offended.

            “yes, flirting, I saw you two a while ago. I am not stupid!”

            “well, you certainly look like one now.” She said loudly and we stared angrily at each other.

No one spoke a word and we just stared at each other like we were about to bite our heads off in a few seconds.

Then her expression changed from fury to amused understanding.

            “are you jealous?” she laughed.

How can she change moods so fast? stupid question, she is a woman after all.

            “I am so not. I am never jealous and will never be jealous!” I said with finality and sat in one of the seats by the window.

            “you so are! Admit it you.” She kept on laughing as she sat beside me. That makes one of us coz I wasn’t amused.

            “I am not jealous and that’s final!” now I sounded sulky. When did I become this pathetic? Oh yeah, when I met SaeMi. Yeesh!

She nudged me and I looked at her; she smiled back at me. She was so cute then that I really wanted to kiss her.

            “fine you’re not jealous, so you wouldn’t mind if I go back there then?” she said making a motion to stand.

“Don’t you dare!” I grabbed her arm before I realized what she was trying to do.

Her eyes became victorious and her grin widened.

            “you see, you are jealous!” she poked at my arm.

            “stop that! And I am not jealous.” I insisted even though I knew my efforts were futile.

            “admit it already, there’s seriously nothing wrong with it.” She said resting her chin on my shoulder.

I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.

I looked at her and realized our face were just inches if not centimeters close.

            “fine, I’m jealous. What are you going to do about it?” I whispered. I felt myself smiling a little then.

She smiled and stared into my eyes before leaning over and kissing me on the cheeks surprising me.

            “that.” She giggled and stood up and walked briskly away.

            “yah! Yah!” I also laughed calling after her ignoring the blush that I knew was visible on my face.

I stood up and ran after her laughing. One day I’ll make her pay for that one…
