Fragile Heart
Sohee and Jung Kook got out of the car. When Sohee saw the restuarant, she couldn't help but let fall open. It was by far the most fancy restuarant she ever laid eyes on. The outside of the restuarant had a big fountaine with a satue in the middle. The building was lit up with over 50 bright lights. Everyone outside dressed as if the restuarant was the red carpet. Sohee looked down at her clothes, and no way did her simple dress match the exterior of the restuarant.
"I-I think I d-dressed too in-informal..."
Sohee whispered to Jung Kook. He chuckled and shook his head.
"No, it's fine. Simple is in right now."
Jung Kook winked. Sohee's cheeks tinted pink. She was happy that her blush made it seem natural.
"Let's go in."
Jung Kook whispered as he strected out his arm. Sohee wrapped her arm around his and the two walked into the overly expensive restuarant.
"Ah, Mr. Jeon! Your parents are already here, let me lead you."
A waiter spoke. Jung Kook smiled and nodded, and he, along with Sohee, walked to the table where Jung Kook's parents were situated. Sohee grew nervous again as she saw Jung Kook's mom come into view. Truthfully, she wanted to just turn around and hide in a hole. But she was already so close, so she knew it was impossible.
Sohee was terrified of Mrs. Jeon. She made it seem like, if Sohee was a bad girl for Jung Kook, then she could disappear within a few hours, never to be seen again.
Jung Kook and Sohee arrived at the rather large table. It was too big for four guests, and Sohee became skeptical. But she shrugged it off as she sat down, with Jung Kook next to her.
"Annyeonghaesayo."
Sohee bowed politely. Mr. Jeon returned the greeting whilst Mrs. Jeon just nodded her head, not even bothering to speak to Sohee. Sohee sighed quietly as she played with her hands. Jung Kook's came across hers and she turned to look at him. He smiled, and Sohee returned the gesture.
"Are... Are other people to be join--"
Jung Kook started to speak, but his words were cut off by a voice he, as well as Sohee, knew way too well.
"Jung Kookie! Ugh, I'm so sorry for being late, honey~!"
Sohee was shocked when she turned around and saw her. Sohee couldn't believe that she was right there! Sohee furrowed her brows, and Jung Kook as well. Why was she there? And who invited her?
Subin took a seat next to Jung Kook. She clung her arms around him, laying her head on his shoulder. Jung Kook pushed her lightly, not wanting to hurt her.
"Uhm, why is Subin here?"
"Why not? I invited her to come. I don't see why your fiance can't be here."
Jung Kook looked to his dad, who had a facial expression of guilt. He knew that his dad tried hard not to get Subin to come, but failed. Jung Kook sighed, unhappy.
"Okay, fine. Let's just get this dinner over with then."
And so everyone ordered. Sohee ordered a salad, like usual, but with an addition of rice and miso soup. She disliked expensive food. Sohee thought that cheap food was always better than expensive food. Plus, chef's always gave a bigger portion of cheap food, while expensive food always came in tiny portions.
Everyone was quiet while they waited for the food. The only noises that were heard was the people around them, as well as Subin. Subin kept talking to Jung Kook, trying to get a conversation out of him. Though, he didn't speak much. Only simple words left his mouth.
"Jung Kook, respond to Subin properly."
Jung Kook rolled his eyes. He loved his mother a lot, but she was so unreasonable half the time he was with her. It bugged him to no end.
Finally, everyone's food came, and they all started to eat. Sohee took small bites of her food. She didn't want to seem like a pig, that would not be good.
"You know, Sohee,"
Sohee stopped eating and looked up at Mrs. Jeon, who was talking to her.
"Today is the last day. The next hour will be your last try. Yet, you haven't done anything at all."
Mrs. Jeon smirked. Sohee grew uncomfortable and shifted her eyes downward, playing with her fingers once again. Jung Kook took notice and frowned.
"Mother--"
"Miyeong, honey, don't be rude to Sohee. She has done nothing wrong, so don't treat her as if she was a criminal."
Mr. Jeon spoke calmy as he ate his food. Mrs. Jeon, though she loved her husband, was mad at him. Why is it that he keeps defending Sohee? Why is Kang Sohee so special in everyone's eyes, and why can't Mrs. Jeon see it? She didn't know, she really didn't. So she kept silent, not saying another word.
And that's how the dinner went. Complete silence; even Subin did not speak another word. In the middle of the dinner, Jung Kook turned to Sohee, wanting to feed her some food. Sohee gladly opened and Jung Kook fed her. Sohee giggled while swallowing her food, whilst Mrs. Jeon and Subin just scoffed quietly. Mr. Jeon chuckled.
Though Mrs. Jeon didn't like the interaction of the two feeding each other, she saw a little, just a little, bit of the affection between the two. But she quickly shrugged it off, no longer paying attention.
Sohee and Jung Kook had stopped feeding each other and continued to eat their own food by theirself.
"Oh yes, Jung Kook, you will have to buy a wedding ring for Subin."
Jung Kook started to choke right at that moment. And no, it wasn't those simple, less dangerous chokes where he could spit out his food. Jung Kook was so shocked by the small sentence, that he started choking. Everyone didn't know what to do and just watched him as he tried to get the food out from his throat. He fell to the floor.
But when Sohee finally processed what was going on, she screamed and immediately fell to his side. She started to do CPR on him, trying to get the food out. She pumped his chest multiple times, and started to cry when it wasn't working. She pinched his nose close and then blew into his mouth, then pumped his chest again.
Finally, Jung Kook was able to spit the food out of his mouth. The poor boy was sweating, and tears were streaming down Sohee's face. She stoked his cheek, making sure he was okay.
"Y-you're o-okay now, r-right, J-Jung Kook?"
Sohee sobbed. Jung Kook sat up and patted Sohee's back as she cried into his chest.
"I-I'm fine now. It's all thanks to you. Thank you, Sohee."
Jung Kook whispered as he hugged Sohee. Sohee... Saved Jung Kook's life.
"Oh my god, Jung Kook! Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Oh my god, I'm so sorry I didn't help you! Oh, my Jung Kook!"
Mrs. Jeon started to tear up as well, as she hugged her son. She kissed the top of his head as he tried to reassure his mother.
"I'm so sorry, Jung Kook. I'm so sorry."
Mrs. Jeon kept repeating, though she didn't need to say sorry. Jung Kook forgave her, but she continued to apologize. Jung Kook wiped his mother's tears away as Sohee just watched the two. Mr. Jeon patted Sohee's head unexpectedly, and Sohee looked up at the man. He nodded his head, though Sohee did not know why. He whispered, 'thank you,' and wiped Sohee's tears away. Sohee breathed in and out deeply, and Subin was still in shock.
There was a crowd around the five, but everyone left once they saw that Jung Kook was okay. Mrs. Jeon had finally stopped crying, and she strode over to Sohee.
"I'm so sorry Sohee-shii. Please forgive my ignorance. I'm so sorry I caused so much pain to you. Clearly, you love Jung Kook a lot. It was you who saved him, anyway. Thank you, Sohee-shii. Thank you so much."
Mrs. Jeon hugged Sohee out of thanks, and Sohee couldn't help but stand in shock. Though, in the end, she returned the hug. She wasn't mad at Mrs. Jeon, and was no longer scared of her either.
The two broke the hug, and Mrs. Jeon went over to Subin.
"I'm sorry, but the marriage is off. Tell your father, and we'll have a talk later. Sohee, I'll drop you off at home."
Subin was shocked as she stared at Mrs. Jeon in disbelief. Mrs. Jeon nodded, paid for the dinner, and they all left. When the four (because Subin left on her own) arrived at Sohee's apartment complex, Jung Kook walked Sohee to her home. When they reached her front door, Jung Kook smiled at her.
"Thank you, Sohee."
"I-I couldn't l-let you d-die, now-now could I?"
Sohee tried to be funny, and Jung Kook chuckled. Sohee smiled at him lovingly.
"See, I told you that you could do it. And now, we can be together."
Sohee nodded and hugged Jung Kook. She buried her face in his chest as Jung Kook smoothed down her hair. The two broke the hug and Jung Kook pecked her on her cheek. Sohee blushed lightly.
"I'll see you Monday, Sohee. Goodbye."
"G-goodbye, Jung Kook."
Sohee waved as she opened her door and went inside. Jung Kook left and went back to the limo that was waiting for him. He got into the vehicle and sat with his parents.
Sohee, on the otherhand, was laying down on her bed with a smile. She was ecstatic.
I... Get to keep Jung Kook as my boyfriend.
Sooooo, the drama is over!!! :DDDD Well, at least, for now ;D Wow, twenty nine chapters already- almost thirty!! Ugh, I can't believe it!! :) I hope you enjoyed the chapter ^^ Although it was probably really ish lol.
I just want to say I'm really sorry for the hiatus. But, I'm somewhat back now :) I recently finished writing chapter 33 lol. I use to have ten chapters pre-written but not anymore DX
Anyways, this story is ending really soon. I origianlly planned to have at least 50, but I don't even think there will be at least 40 anymore :/
