Jungah was talking on the phone as she stepped down from the bus.

“Seriously, oppa. I’m fine.” She chuckled.

“But you’re living alone!”

“I know that, are you coming to the track tonight?”

“Yes, and I asked Yongguk hyung to ban you from there.”

“Sure, like he’d do that.” Jungah said dryly.

“Jungah, please, last time you almost were stripped , don’t come.”

She smiled as she waited for the streetlights to signal go for her to cross.

“Besides, why don’t you just hang out with Kris?”

She paused and bit her lip.

“Things went awkward oppa.”

Chanyeol chuckled.

“Or fix things with Luhan hyung?”

“I’m still thinking about that.” She replied as she started to cross.

“Really, Jungah, you should-”

Then from the other line Chanyeol could hear a loud honk from a big vehicle.

“Jungah!?!”

The last things he heard was Jungah’s phone crashing towards the road.

“What are you saying?” Luhan said, ignoring the questions that were being thrown at him.

“She got in an accident! Just now, I received a call-”

Kris didn’t wait for the man to finish, he bolted out of the room in a rush.

Luhan felt his chest drop.

“Agung, it’s mei mei. I have to go.” He said, Haera stood up.

“Oppa, our engagement-”

“You tried to ruin my sister, I don’t want to see you face.” Luhan turned away from her.

Haera reached for his wrist.

“You are not leaving me here, Luhan.”

“Of course, why would I marry you in order to save your company? I don’t need you, Haera.”

Jungah was covered in her own blood as she was rushed in the hospital. She was sweating profusely as medics tried to stop her from bleeding.

Her sight was getting muddled, the last thing she could remember were the red lights from the operating room’s main doors.

Kris arrived outside the operating room. He noticed that the lights were on. He sat down and curled his fingers together in worry.

“What happened to her?”

“Miss Xi, was crossing the street when the container van had hit her.”

Kris’s eyes widened.

“Then, how…is she?”

“We can’t tell yet, sir. She was bleeding so much when we sent her in. And she hit her head pretty hard.”

Kris exhaled.

If only he offered to drive her to where she was going, this would never have happened.

“I’ll go now, enjoy your weekend, Wu Yifan.”

Kris looked up.

“Where are you going?” He asked.

“Somewhere.”

He remembered her smiling at him. Kris’s fists curled as he leaned back on the plastic chair.

“I’m sorry, Jungah.”

Luhan and Lay arrived at the same time, they found Kris sitting down.

“Ge, how is she?” Lay asked.

Kris just shook his head.

“The doctor didn’t come out yet.”

Luhan looked away. Lay frowned and sat down.

“She got hit by a car, I was with her just moments earlier.”

Lay shook his head at the older male and glanced at his cousin.

“See, ge? Jungah…never meant to harm anyone. She had proof against Haera. She was just protecting you- our family!”

Luhan didn’t say anything.

“And now she’s the one suffering.” Lay shook his head bitterly. Kris looked away.

“If only you tried to hear her out, this would never have happened.”
