Worlds Collide
Haera smiled to herself as she got inside the conference room, she found Kris waiting for her.
“Jungah’s late?” She asked.
“Haera, please stop trying to start fights with her.” Kris said.
Haera blinked, slightly taken aback.
“You must be close, you rarely take sides.” She said to him. Kris shook his head.
“She-”
“He really should take sides.” A voice joined them, Jungah stepped in the room and smiled at Haera.
“Now that Newbie’s here, let’s start.” Jungah said in a light tone. Kris took a deep breath as they started to talk about the project.
“We will commence construction next week, Jungah can we meet Mister Jung by this week?”
“I’ll try to contact him.”
“What about the mall? The new façade-”
Jungah turned her eyes towards Haera and tuned out.
This woman, is definitely up to something. Why would a bankrupt company invest in something large-scaled, when they’re funds barely support their company?
Kris glanced at her.
“We have the conference tomorrow.” Haera said in addition.
“I expect you to talk about your proposal by then, Jungah.” She smiled at her.
“Obviously, do you expect me to perform circus acts?” She chuckled dryly before standing.
“I’m kind of short on time, I have to go ahead, Li Jiaheng.”
“Arasso, see you tomorrow.” Kris waved her off.
“And, right, Wu Yifan?” Jungah turned to him, she made sure that Haera was also staring at her.
“You should be careful.”
“So what is this emergency you claim of?” Chanyeol asked as he took the seat across Jungah. They were inside a coffee shop, right across the Parks’ office.
“Remember that girl from the party?”
“The one you don’t like?” Chanyeol asked. She nodded.
“I…heard some employees talk.”
“…Rumors?”
“They aren’t baseless, oppa.”
Chanyeol leaned back, knowing Jungah, she wasn’t going to stop until she got answers.
“What did you hear, Jungie?”
“Apparently, Haera once dated Kris, she…dated him just to get to my brother.”
“She…what?” Chanyeol balked.
“She used Kris to get to Luhan.”
“Jungie, that sounds-”
“I know, but Lay told me that those three met during their university days, it’s possible.”
She bit her lip.
“I saw the paper, is everything okay?”
She just shrugged.
“They were just trying to….make trouble.”
Chanyeol smiled.
“Oppa, I think there’s something they’re trying to hide from me. And I have a feeling Haera…she’s..just…trouble.”
“Jungie, don’t. Cant you just let this go? It’s just a rumor.”
“Why would Kwon Industries invest in a big project if they were short on funds already?” Jungah looked at him.
“In two months oppa, they’re going bankrupt.”
“Where are you getting at?” Chanyeol looked at her.
“She’s definitely up to something.”
Luhan looked up as his secretary ushered Haera in. He had no idea why she was here, but being the gentleman that he was he let her in.
“Did I disturb you, oppa?” Haera asked.
“Not really, what brings you here?” Luhan shifted on his seat.
“It’s been a while since we last talked oppa, and I wanted to apologize for what happened last time.”
Luhan nodded and looked away.
“I know, it must be difficult for you-”
“Haera, please stop.” Luhan looked up.
Haera paused and looked at him.
“I…Honestly, I don’t want to talk to you, I just didn’t want you to be embarrassed to my secretary, please….leave.”
“Is this how you treat a business partner, oppa?” She asked softly.
Luhan stared at her icily.
“You weren’t talking about business.”
