True Colors
Sly as a foxThe clock ticked as every second passed by and everyone was frozen. Yong Guk sat on the couch between Himchan and Daehyun while Zelo and Jongup sat on the floor watching the TV screen blankly. Youngjae was in one of the chairs reading a book silently to himself. Yong Guk glanced down at the TV then back up at the clock on the wall. Himchan sighed.
"You've been looking at that clock every five seconds, give it a rest." he grumbled.
"Her flight landed two hours ago."
"And it takes about forty five minutes to get from the airport to here." Daehyun said.
"She's still taking too long."
"Maybe there's traffic. She is driving through Seoul, in the middle of the day on a weekend." Youngjae pointed out obviously.
"Hyung, try calling her."
"Fine." he took out his phone and dialed Jina's number. It rang a few times and there was an answer.
"Helloooo." she answered in English.
"Jina."
"Oh, Yong Guk, how are you?" she spoke Korean.
"Where are you?"
"The mall."
"The mall?"
"Yeah, why? Did you need me home right away?"
"It would be nice if you came here before going out."
"Fine, I'll be there in twenty minutes."
"Ok, hurry."
"Yeah, yeah." she waved off and hung up.
"Now I know why your Aunt wanted to hand her off." Himchan said, who was listening the whole time.
"Aish, this girl is going to get a reality check."
"Uh oh." Jongup pouted.
Then sure enough exactly twenty minutes later the door bell rang.
"I'll get it." Daehyun stood up and went to get the door. He opened it and froze when he sa a girl standing there.
"Cousin!" she was mistaken and threw her arms around him. He just stood there and let a wave of a tropical fruit breeze hit him.
"I-I'm not your cousin."
She pulled back and looked at him curiously. "Then who are you?"
"Jina?" Yong Guk came.
"Yong Guk?" she ran to him and jumped into his arms.
"Hey kiddo. It's been a while."
"I know! I bought you something." she went back to the doorway and picked up a few shopping bags. Daehyun and Jongup picked up her big suitcases.
"You did?"
"You think I'd go shopping while you worry and not get you something? Here!" she pulled out a hat.
"Whoa, so cool!" he cheered. "Thanks." he gave her a one arm hug.
'I don't see why they say she's so bad.' Daehyun thought.
'I can just see the delinquency oozing off of her.' Youngjae shook his head and put his book down.
"Let's take a tour of the house." Yong Guk offered.
"Ok." he lead her into the kitchen. "This is the kitchen and living room."
'Whoa! So pretty."
"Yo, maknae." he hollered to the boy still glued to the TV. "Where'd Himchan go?"
"In his room."
"Aish, we have a guest and he just leaves." he shook his head. "Jina, this is Zelo and Youngjae."
"Hi." she squeaked in English and waved.
'So cute.' Daehyun chuckled.
'Aish, how informal.' Youngjae shook his head.
"The one you hugged is Daehyun and the one holding the pink bag is Jongup."
"That's a manly bag you've got there." Youngjae teased.
"Thanks it's Gucci." Jongup played along.
"Actually it's Versace. Aunty got it in Rome! Isn't it nice?" she asked.
"You've been to Rome?"
"No our Aunt has. She travels a lot. Leaving me h
