Chapter 9
In Another WorldChangmin went to the coffee shop outside Jaejoong's company after Jaejoong dismissed him after his boyfriend came to see him. Changmin didn't get to see him, of course, because apparently not everyone can meet him face to face. Changmin ordered a mango smoothie and sat down on the table. He was contemplating to ask Junsu to fetch him but he thought better of it. He would walk home. He did it yesterday he could do it for the second time, no doubts about that.
He sipped his smoothie and felt the coldness ran through his oesophagus as he thought about the words of Junsu just the day before. Junsu gave him warnings but yet today he sent him to work with the pretty man. Was he being supportive or sarcastic? Changmin his right cheek trying to find a reason that might suit Junsu's doing.
Whilst he was practically spacing out because of Junsu, suddenly he was taken back to the coffee shop when he heard the TV sound, mentioning the name Jung Yunho. Changmin turned to watch the TV. Luckily it was near to him, even though he didn't plan to watch any program at all. Changmin's mouth gaped open when he saw his hyung was featured, not as a superstar but as a...
Lawyer?
Changmin furrowed his brows as he narrowed his eyes to read the headlines.
'Lawyer Jung Remained Firm in His Position to Find the Truth of Jin's Group.'
The leader appeared on what appeared to be a court's building. He just walked out of it when the reporters surrounded him and his colleague. Yunho looked disturbed even though Changmin might say he looked exactly the same as his Yunho. They're aging at the same rate. It might be because of the burdens of their works.
Changmin drank a bit more of his smoothie before a voice interrupting him from behind. He turned around and saw the nurse that resembled much of his colleague, Yeon Hee.
"Are you really interested in this, Changmin-ssi?"
"Oh? No. Actually, it's not..." she smiled at him sweetly. It's not the smile that you used to attract people; it was just a smile that she was used to during work. It was a friendly smile. A bit of teeth would suffice and the curl of her lips were just at the nice angle that Changmin thought it would be fine if he ask her anything.
"Hmmm..." Changmin nodded. Yeon Hee look-alike pushed her long bangs of dark brown hair out of her face, revealing her blushed face.
"Ah, my name's Yeon Hee. Lee Yeon Hee. You'll remember me as the nurse in the Dr Kang's office,"
"Yes, of course." Changmin nodded again. Yeon Hee waved at him; a tumbler of coffee was in her hand before she headed to the door. "Wait, Yeon Hee-ssi," the girl stopped and turned towards him. "I...I just want to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"Do you know anything about the trial? I mean...who's involved in the case?"
"What case?" Changmin and Yeon Hee turned to the television. The brief news report was replaced by a cartoon now. "Ah, that. The trial." Changmin nodded vigorously, eager to know. Yeon Hee bit her lower lip, her brows knitted together. "If I'm not mistaken the case is about smuggling. Some of the higher ups in the country's politics were involved, they said, but everything was hushed because the activity also involved Jin's conglomerate, one of the country's leading company. The police couldn't do anything, but this Lawyer Jung had declared war upon them, saying that they were directly involved in the dirty activities."
"Is the Jin's Conglomerate some kind of an illegal company?"
"No. No. As far as the media had revealed, Jin's Conglomerate is clean. They are totally legal, but Lawyer Jung is one stubborn man."
"Is he alone?" Changmin couldn't help but felt pity and scared for Yunho. Even if Yunho didn't know him, he had this deep connection that made him unable to ignore the fact that this Yunho was in a deep, serious .
"I don't really read about that, sorry. There was too much politics involved and I don't like it because of reasons."
"Of course." Yeon Hee stared at Changmin and he gazed back at her causing her face even more red than before. Changmin wondered what he said that she reacted that way. "And thanks for the information. It's really helpful,"
"Why do you want to know? I mean...you know," she leaned in to his left ear to whisper. "Your memory still hadn't come back yet, right?"
Changmin shook his head. His heart was heavy when people thought he had loss his memory, he actually had lost everything. He was no one in this world. He was alone with memories of people who he loves dearly who didn't know him. It was like the situation was reversible. He knew everyone, but everyone had lost memories of him, and him alone. "You'll be alright. Dr Kang will do anything in his power to revive your memory back."
"It wouldn't be as easy,"
"He's a professional. Don't worry." Yeon Hee flashed her gummy smile. Changmin liked that in her. Even when she was his colleague, she was a nice and kind girl that as shy as he was. "Are you waiting for someone? Do you have any work to tend to?"
"No. Because of my...um...memory loss I couldn't find anything to do."
"Oh." she wore a face of pity.
"I'll be fine once I'll get over it." Changmin smiled briefly. Yeon Hee slumped her shoulders, the expression on her face was gentle.
"Aja-aja, hwaiting!" both of them laughed after Yeon Hee made a 'fighting' gesture. "I'll get going first," Yeon Hee waved at him and exited the shop. Changmin smiled, and then stopped because suddenly he remembered he didn't ask for her phone number.

Junsu wasn't home when he arrived there. Changmin sat on the kitchen's table. The time was between lunch and tea. Changmin was already exhausted. He had never been tired before because of using his brain. He was always a clever boy now and during school because being clever is the new cool. Plus, his parents would not let him become a singer with bad performance in school.
Changmin sighed. He wanted to make dinner but he didn't know how to cook. He wanted to sleep but he wasn't sleepy at all and it was still early. Jaejoong still hadn't called him so he had no idea about his modelling job. He toyed with his fringe, trying to imagine Jaejoong with Yihan. So, what Junsu said about him was actually true. Jaejoong's boyfriend is the leader of the underground.
He shivered just by thinking of it. The odds were Yunho was going to reveal the truth about Jin's Conglomerate, which meant he would mess with Jaejoong indirectly. Did both of them know each other? How does Jaejoong feel about Yunho when he knew Yunho was going to tarnish his boyfriend's reputation?
How this life screwed his perspective. Changmin wanted to meet this Yunho and tell him about Jaejoong, and ask Jaejoong about how Yunho messed with his current boyfriend.
But one thing Changmin was sure of. They lived in a world that allowed them to come out, where their uality was nothing compared to what they had achieved. If only his Yunho and Jaejoong were here, they would never have to deal with the pressure. Yunho would never have to pretend to not be loving to Jaejoong and Jaejoong would never have to cry at night because of Yunho's ignorance.
He then decided to continue reading the manhwas that Yoochun drew. The stories were all about the monsters when suddenly the plot turned sharply when one of the five warriors decided to break free and not slay dragons and monsters anymore. He wanted more of it, more adventures and his desire led to a huge fight. Changmin almost cried when they were separated by a dark cloud in the middle of their fight, just because they hadn't told each other how deep their love was for each other.
Was their story coincides too much with his own story?
How did Yoochun come up with a story like this? Did he know that he was involved in somewhat the same situation as in his own comic?
Changmin lied on the floor, his head hitting the wooden floor. It felt cold when his face touched the surface. He placed the comic on his chest and solemnly he sniffed. Why was he stuck here? What had he done to make him be thrown here?

"Wake up, lazy ." Junsu's cold voice startled Changmin. Changmin stood up and his eyes fixed at Junsu who was loosening his tie. He was standing up in the middle of the living room.
"Did you just got home?"
"What do you think?" Junsu sat down on the couch. He rested his head on the couch and closed his eyes. "Are you hungry already?" Changmin glanced at the clock. It was nearly dinner time.
"Um...yes." Changmin scratched the back of his head. Junsu massaged his forehead.
"I'll cook for you after I take my bath,"
"Hyung..." Junsu stretched his arms out. "You don't need to..."
"You're my responsibility." Junsu's voice was firm. He stood up and walked to the bathroom without sparing even a glance to Changmin. Changmin sulked. What was this vulnerability that he felt inside?
Changmin sat on Junsu's rocking chair and waited for him there. He heard the sound of Junsu's showering. It felt even weirder. He was so used to his Junsu's singing in the bathroom but this Junsu? Nil. He was so quiet. It was like the bathroom was his personal thinking box where no sound was allowed. Changmin stayed there until Junsu came out of the bathroom. He was only wearing his towel around his waist. Changmin absorbed this Junsu's appearance, his mind boggled with the authenticity of this human body. This Junsu was toned, his body was slim but muscular and the six pack on his abdomen was waaaay better than his Junsu's.
"What are you doing here?" Junsu asked, annoyed.
"About this morning, hyung." Changmin had to get his point across without any further delay. "I just accepted the offer of a modelling shoot. But I only agreed to one session, for only an advertisement, not more than that."
"So?" Junsu pulled on his shirt and sweatpants.
"I would like you to grant me permission for only that, please."
"I already drove you..."
"I know!" Changmin realised he had been too harsh and loud. "I know, and...and I'm sorry I did things without telling you first," Junsu rolled his eyes. Changmin didn't know what to make out of it. "When...when you said I'm your responsibility I couldn't help but think you're my family now. The only one that could accept me and I don't want you to get mad because of me again." Junsu smiled which brought Changmin's heart to an ease.
"Only one, okay?" Junsu held out his index finger. Changmin nodded furiously to agree. Junsu's smile widened and he walked to the kitchen and started to take out the raw ingredients for their meal tonight.
"Hyung?"
"Hmm..." Junsu was tying the apron's ribbon behind his nape.
"Can I join you, cooking? You know..."
"Yes. I had had enough of being your maid," Changmin couldn't help but blush. Junsu who was aware of this laughed and suddenly that day wasn't so bad at all for Changmin.
