Capturing Taemin-Oppa
“Hey, is everything still fine?” Dan asked as both of them sat and breathed for a while after 3 hours of straight office tutorial. It’s been three days since Dan and Juliette started to learn more about the business together.
“Of course.” She smiled. “Is there anything else I should learn about?” She asked as if she’s not tired yet.
“What do you think about arranged marriage?” Dan asked out of nowhere. Juliette looked at him with uncertainty, trying to read what’s on his mind that he suddenly asked a very irrelevant question.
“Well… do I really need to answer that?” Dan shrugged his shoulders and smiled. “Marrying someone you don’t love is one of the biggest mistakes a girl will do in her life.” She uttered and smiled, trying to ease the awkwardness that she suddenly felt. They just met each other but he was already asking this question.
“I never intended to put this up… but seeing you right now…” He smirked and tapped his fingers on the table. “I think I’ll have the advantage over here.”
“I don’t understand.” She asked.
“We’ve met before, when you were still 8, during your mom and your uncle’s marriage celebration.” He revealed. She frowned for a while. Juliette couldn’t remember someone that she met when she was little. “Of course you won’t remember me. You were so young and you have no interest in guys. Tina and I were introduced to you at the same time so your attention was quickly drawn at her, completely forgetting me few minutes after my father told you my name.” He added.
She blinked several times, still trying to remember it. “I’m sorry… I really cannot…”
“That’s why your uncle introduced me a while ago as if we never met before.” He chuckled. “He told me we should forget about what was discussed years back and let you decide on your own but…” Dan quickly stood up from his seat and leaned forward to her. She was surprised and immediately avoided and distant her face from him as far as possible. “I think I would want to have you as my wife.” He said.
“What?” She was dumbfounded at the moment. “What do you mean ‘your wife’?”
“If you and I were to get married, then our companies will merge into much bigger one. It will be awesome. We’ll start to have all the richest in the world. Doesn’t the shop princess like that?” He said as he tucked her hair on the back of her ear.
She gently pushed his hand away, trying not to be rude and offensive. “I’m sorry.” She said and stood up from her seat to avoid any possible contact with him. She felt alarming. They were inside her uncle’s office and there were only the two of them. The door was closed, and she had to walk behind Dan in order to get there.
“Hey, I won’t do anything to you.” He chuckled as he raised both his hands. “Marriage is just around the corner. I can wait.” He smiled and crossed his arms as he looked at her from head to toe. “At first I didn’t even want to meet you. You are not his real daughter and you are Korean. I thought Koreans were not really y and they lack curves because they are skinny. It’s even hard to differentiate a male to a female. There are males who completely look like a female.” He chuckled a bit. “But seeing how beautiful and gorgeous you grew to be. I’m glad our parents agreed that we will marry each other in the future.” He grinned.
“I think only Asian countries practices arrange married.” She tried to raise and excuse. “Do people here really practice arranged marriage for business? I don’t think so.” She said.
“Then let us be the first couple to do that.” He answered back. “Not because it’s unusual means we’re not allowed to do that.”
“I can do this alone. From now on, you can leave me and don’t ever come to my office again.” She said firmly, trying to hide the nervousness that she was feeling.
“What do we do, my shop princess?” He said and walked forward. Juliette stepped backwards until she bumped her back on the wall. “If your uncle learned about you making me leave, then he won’t like that. Do you think he can still be able to get the surgery when he’s worrying about you and the business so much?” He just smiled.
“You’re very funny.” Juliette uttered. “Not because it was said a long time ago means it’s going to happen. I’m not dumb to allow this kind of ridiculous thing. Our company will still stand strong even if you're not affiliated to us or our companies merge.” She uttered strongly.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then.” He smirked and waved goodbye as he went out of the door to leave.
