“She’s different, isn’t she?” His mom said while there were only the 2 of them inside Onew’s room. She wanted to talk to him privately so they went to his room for a mother-son conversation.

He turned his sight back to her after looking at the window, “What do you mean?”

“I doubt you have known her for long.” She smiled with a meaning and stood up to go to his son’s side. “This is her first time here in the country and saying you’re pretty close to each other is kind of off.”

“She’s a friend, umma.”

“What kind of friend?”

“A friend. She’s someone who is close to me.”

“I know you a lot Lee Jinki. You can’t hide something from umma.” She uttered with strictly voice. “You never get close to the people you just met few days ago.”

Onew looked at his mom silently sending her the message, You caught me there again.

“Well…” She smiled as if she won the lottery. “She looks nice, and you know very well that I trust you. Whoever you pick, umma will be supportive.” She held his arm and pressed it dearly. “If she’s the one who changed you from being such a playful boy, then mom will be very pleased to have her as my daughter-in-law.”

“Umma…” He uttered and shook his head. “It’s not like we’re in the relationship that you’re thinking of. We might probably be more than friends, but definitely, we’re not lovers.”

“Not YET lovers.” She stressed out the word ‘yet’.

He shook his head in dismay, “I don’t want you to be disappointed, umma, but there’s really no chance.”

“I’m not buying your declarative sentence.” She giggled. “There… I need to go now, hun. Be sure to take care of yourself and call me whenever you need me, kay?”

He nodded, “Bye, umma. Take care, and tell appa to take care of his health, too. I love you.”

“I love you, too. Always remember that.” She kissed his son on his cheek and headed out the room, with him following his mother.
