Minjoo turns around to lay on her sides, propping her head on top of her palm as she eyes the wide-awake female next to her. “Let’s play a game,” she tells Hitomi. “If you’re wrong, I get to kiss you.”
“That’s not much of a punishment, isn’t it?”
“I never said it’s a punishment,” Minjoo immediately replies with a wink. “Anyway, call?”
Hitomi shrugs her shoulders helplessly. It’s not like she can refuse. “Call.”
“I spy with my little eye: something pale, beautiful, shrouded in mystery yet shines so brightly in amidst darkness. Something I can stare forever and won’t ever tire of it.”
“That’s too easy,” Hitomi smirks. She pulls the curtain back, pointing her index finger at the small silver blot hanging in the dark sky. She doesn’t speak for several seconds she spent gazing at the moon—almost like she is purposefully holding herself from answering right away.
But it’s not the case. Hitomi is just mesmerized by the moon, can't help but admiring the indescribable beauty it offers—just by staying still and existing in the dark.
“It’s the moon,” she breathes out in an unmistakably admiring tone. “The answer is the moon.”
