It happened when Minjoo wasn't sure of her own feelings. She liked Hitomi more than friends should, but couldn't put a finger on what kind of like it was. Platonic? Romantic? In-between? Minjoo wasn't sure.
"When the dreams end, where will you go home to?"
Hitomi didn't dally. She smiled at Minjoo, hiding the pain in her eyes with the eye-smile Minjoo was so fond of.
"Family," She answered, pointing at the little flag sticker on her phonecase.
"Japan."

Minjoo was sure. She liked Hitomi. Romantically. But she was too afraid to even do anything about it.
She asked Hitomi again. This time, Hitomi thought longer, didn't jump to her answer as Minjoo initially thought.
"Japan," She still said, but it wasn't as determined as her answer exactly a year ago. She let her soft gaze linger on Minjoo.

Minjoo watched Hitomi looking at the home design with such interest that it sparked her curiosity. She asked again. Hitomi didn't immediately answer. She grasped Minjoo's hand instead, her eyes curving into a pair of beautiful crescent moons.
"Where the heart is."

The dream ended half a year ago. Hitomi went back to her first home. Japan.
Minjoo was forced to accept that, but Hitomi left with a promise that was sealed with a small kiss.
