service
Espresso ShotsCall her a , , and any other insults, Minjoo doesn’t care—she pays her bill with this job and she was able to help her family economy until they can live comfortably as of now.
Sure, it’s a risky job. Minjoo acknowledges the risk the moment she shakes Eunbi’s hand that fateful day five years ago, after yet another stressful yet boring day at her workplace. But the rewards? They are worth it. Her parents are happy and her siblings are happy—that is all Minjoo cared for.
But until her little sister graduated from university, she will continue to do this “rent a night” service.
“Minjoo-sshi, I heard that—“
Minjoo pauses. She turns at Minjeong, heaving a sigh before she rubs the upcoming headache threatening to drill into her skull. “Yes,” she answers before Minjeong can finish her sentence. “What? Are you going to insult me?”
“I’m not here to give you a piece of my mind,” Minjeong defensively says with both of her eyebrows raised high. “Actually, my friend is... kinda looking for company... for several nights.”
Minjoo an eyebrow up. “I only do one night, not several nights in a row.”
“Double the price,” her workmate hastily interrupts, “she says that she will double—or even triple it.”
She? Interesting. Minjoo has never received any female customers, but there’s always a first time.
“Alright,” she finds herself says with a small smile. “Give me her number, I’ll contact her.”
Honda Hitomi
The name doesn’t sound familiar nor is it familiar rolling on her tongue. She has several Japanese friends, but none has the name of Hitomi.
Minjoo: Hello, is this Hitomi?
Hitomi: Hello, may I ask who is this?
Minjoo: this is Minjeong’s acquaintance. I heard you need my service?
