“I can’t.”

“What do you mean you can’t?”

“There are—” Hitomi looked at her fingers, “...twenty-nine reasons why I can’t ask Minjoo to marry me.”

Nako sighed tiredly. She didn’t play cupid for five years for them to not marry in the end, damn it! “What are they?” She asked, leaning her body to the table, her hands supporting her chin.

Hitomi didn't wait. “She’s beautiful. I’m not. Her sister is scary. Her parents even more. Ahn Yujin likes her. Jang Wonyoung likes her. Jo Yuri likes her. Minjoo is successful on her own. I certainly am not compared to her. She deserved a lot better—”

“Okay enough with that.” Nako shook her head, raising her palm to stop Hitomi from saying anything. Hitomi obediently clamped shut, but her lips were pursed, and there was an unmistakable look of disappointment in her innocent brown eyes. “Then I’ll give you only two reasons for you to be confident and just propose to Minjoo and expect a yes in return.”
