"Uri namja chingu." Jisoo announced as she squeezed Tarhyung's hand, never feeling lighter than ever before after she said those words. "He's my boyfriend."

Collective gasps escaped from Suho's parents followed by a stunned silence as they looked at Jisoo and Taehyung with wide eyes.

Taehyung couldn't help but throw a smug look at Suho before turning his gaze to Jisoo lovingly. He squeezed her hand back, his heart feeling full. Finally, everything is out in the open.

"Wh-what is the meaning of this?" Suho's mother glared at Jisoo's father after she got over her shock. "I thought we had an agreement! Jisoo and Suho are suppose to be engaged after they graduate!"

Kim Nam Gil was glad the truth was out but that doesn't make the situation easier for him, having to deal with his friend's obviously pissed off wife. "I'm afraid things have changed. As you can see, Jisoo is in love with someone else."

"Are you listening to this nonsense?" Suho's mother turned to her husband who chose to remain silent. After it seems she wasn't going to get any back up from him, she turned to her son. "Did you know about this, Suho?"

"I was aware of their relationship but I didn't know it was this serious." Suho said solemnly.

"How could you!" Suho mother's returned her blazing eyes towards Jisoo's father. "After we helped you covered up your scandal last year!"

"Jagiya, that's enough." Suho's father massaged the bridge of his nose. "Don't bring that up again."

"I am grateful for the help but I can no longer push aside my daughter's happiness for my own selfish reasons anymore. I apologise for unfulfilling our agreement." Kim Nam Gil bowed his head, something he rarely does but he knew he was indeed at fault.

"What about my son's happiness then?" Suho's mother asked, turning her attention back on Taehyung. "How is this child better than my son? What does he have that my Suho doesn't?" She spat the words out, her nose scrunched up as she appraised Taehyung.

"Well for one thing," Taehyung raised his hand that was clasping Jisoo's smaller ones. His lips threatening to curve into a mischivious smile. "I have Jisoo's affection."

"Ommo, my head hurts." Suho's mother touched her forehead, her body tilting backwards. She would have fell if not for Suho's arms helping her up. 

"Omma, let's go home." Suho said to his mother.

"You're just going to let her go?!"

"Ne!" Suho surprised everyone by raising his voice. "Omma, do you know how embarrassing it is for me to be standing here like this?"

"Then you should have done your job better! I told you to make sure she fall for you!"

"From my experience, forcing your child to do something is never good." Kim Nam Gil commented but his words go unnoticed.

Suho hit his palm on his chest several times. "How much more of my pride do I have to sacrifice?" His voice cracked. "Jisoo doesn't love me. You have to accept that."

"This is not the time and place to be having this conversation!" Suho's father jumped in, stopping his wife just as she was about to say something else. "Get in the car right now."

"But---"

"I said now!" Suho's father ordered. His wife, frightened by his hardened face, complied without sparing a glance at the rest of them. Her footsteps quick as she walked out the front door, taking the paper bags with her.

Suho atleast had the decency to give a small bow to Jisoo's father before following his mother.

Jisoo couldn't help but feel guilty, seeing the forlorn look on Suho's face. Despite their circumstances, Suho had been a good friend to her. Perhaps once this conflict cool down, she will have a talk with him.

Kim Nam Gil cleared his throat and turned to his friend. "I apologise for--"

Suho's father raised his hand to stop him. "Aniya, don't apologise." He said, sounding tired. "You did what you had to do for your child. I'll talk to my wife about this and make her see reason."

"Thank you for understanding, Suho Abonim." Jisoo bowed low with Taehyung mirroring her actions.

"Gurae, I should take my leave before those two start fighting again in the car." Suho's father sighed, bidding farewell before he walked out.

After taking a shower, Taehyung redressed and joined Jisoo at the second floor balcony, overlooking their green lawn. 

Jisoo absent-mindedly watched her gardener tending to the flowers on their lawn when Taehyung's arms wrapped around her waist from behind.

"Yah! You're making my clothes wet!" Jisoo mewled as Taehyung buried his face in the crook of her neck with his hair still damp from the shower.

"It will dry soon." He brushed off her comment. "What are you thinking about?"

Jisoo inhaled in the cool air and let out a contented breath, leaning her body against his. "Nothing. For once, I have nothing to think or worry about." She said.

Everything that bothered her months ago was resolved. She found her mother and learnt the truth. She realised her father's own scars and understood his heart. She embraced her feelings for Taehyung and let it all out in the open. As she turned he
